SUDS: Barbara Garrick to One Life and Lucky Spencer promos!

BarbaraGarrick.jpgIn Friday’s TV Guide Canada Suds Report, Nelson Branco had a few very interesting items.  One, reporting that whacko Alison Perkins played by Barbara Garrick is set for a return  at OLTL just as Roscoe Born (Mitch) is set to make his first on air re-emergence.  Check it out below!

“Set insiders are reporting that One Life has hired back Barbara Garrick to reprise her Emmy-worthy role of wack job Alison Perkins. The low-rated sudser will finally address who Roxy’s baby daddy is. As Suds exclusively reported, Roscoe Born is also returning to the show as Mitch to round out the storyline. So who is Rex’s papa? I’d bet my money it’s Alison. Yep, you read that correctly. I doubt the infamous Ron Carlivati would go the predictable route and reveal that Mitch is Rex’s DNA match. But who knows? I’ve been wrong before.”

Second item, in a spot on soap promo blunder! It looks like ABC Daytime’s promotion team is doing the same to the departed Greg Vaughan (Ex-Lucky, GH) to pave the way for Jonathan Jackson’s on-air return next week. How you ask?  By heradling his return as if Lucky had never been on the show for the last seven years…similar to when Rebecca Budig returned as the “Real Greenlee” and Sabine Singh was shuffled off to Buffalo.  Here is what Branco had to say about it:

vaughan_white.jpg“Is Greg Vaughan the new Sabine Singh? Looks like it. In promos trumpeting Emmy winner Jonathan Jackson’s return to the violent sudser, ABC’s tagline is, “Elizabeth’s first love is back!” Um, when did Lucky leave Port Chuck, GH? Let me make the intros — ABC meet Greg Vaughan, Greg Vaughan meet your former douchebag bosses. I’d be mighty careful with how you guys deal with Vaughan — the talented and handsome actor’s fans are not to be messed with. If I were Brian Frons, other than shaving off my mustache and firing Chucky Pratt, of course, I’d cast Vaughan on another ABC soap STAT.”

Ingo Rademacher Speaks Out On His Dismissal From GH Sharing: “I Was Hoping to Play Jax For Another 10 or 25 Years and Unfortunately, That’s Not Going to Happen”

For the first time since he was fired for not adhering to General Hospital’s and Disney/ABC’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate, Ingo Rademacher (Ex-Jax), addressed his exit from the soap opera via an “official video” message on his Instagram account.

Ingo expressed: “I’m sorry that I didn’t put out this video earlier, but this is about thanking you guys, the fans of the show and also the GH crew and cast. I was on the show for 25 years. They were like my family a lot of the people there. I was hoping to play Jax for another 10 or 25 years and unfortunately, that’s not going to happen. I want to thank you guys for sticking with Jax for 25 years and I’m sorry that I’m not there anymore to play Jax, which is still something that I am trying to process  … it’s just kind of crazy.”

Rademacher also took aim at his former co-star, Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) for announcing on Twitter that he was no longer on the show, before he had a chance to do so, which he says was a huge disappointment to him given that they worked together for 25 years.

He went on to say how he appreciated all the positive comments from the fans adding, “A lot of you come on there to say that you’re vaccinated but stand for medical freedom, I love hearing that, because I believe it should be a choice.”  Ingo continued to express his view, “I don’t agree with vaccine mandates or corporations ever being able to mandate a vaccine to keep your job.”

The actor closed with another nod to the viewers of GH adding, “Thank you so much for supporting me for 25 years. I will have more news later on, but for now, just wanted to thank all of you amazing fans. Thank you.”

You can watch Rademacher’s full statement via his IG post below.  Then, let us know what you thought of Ingo’s long-awaited exit message in the comment section.

Kristina Wagner Shares She’s Back On Contract at General Hospital

This past week, General Hospital fans were thrilled with the news that longtime fan favorite, Kristina Wagner (Felicia) was on her way back to the soap opera to tape new episodes.  However on Saturday, the actress shared even bigger news.  She is back on contract at the ABC daytime drama series.

Kristina revealed via her Instagram: “I’m pleased to announce I just finished my first work week on contract with General Hospital. The good people there have made it a well oiled machine. I’m so impressed with the way they navigate the Covid protocols. It’s not easy but we’ll worth it. We’ve got some fun storylines coming up. I’ve been thrown in the middle of a current storyline and I think Felicia’s part in it gives it some color. Stay tuned!”

Earlier in the week on Tuesday via Twitter, Kristina expressed: “Tomorrow I head back to work on General Hospital! Lucky me. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of that family once again. Here we go. More to come. Felicia Scorpio rides again.”

Wagner began her GH role as Felicia Cummings, the Aztec princess back in 1984 and has appeared on and off the show since then.

So what storyline do you think Felicia will get thrown into? Will she return to Port Charles to help Maxie (Kirsten Storms)?  Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

‘Dr. Oz Show’ Taken Off the Air in NY and PA Due to Senate Run; Daphne Oz ‘The Good Dish’ to Fill Time Slot

In light of his announcement that he will be running as a republican senate candidate in the state of Pennsylvania, Dr Oz’s daytime talk and medical show, The Dr. Oz Show, is being taken off the air in key markets in New York and Pennsylvania, according to the Fox Station Group.

According to Deadline’s sources, Fox TV Stations proceeded with pulling the Sony Pictures TV-distributed syndicated series because of the prospect of being forced to give other political candidates running in Pennsylvania equal time, expressing that it “would be a nightmare for us, there was no way we were going to be able to do that.”

In its place, look for Dr. Oz’s daughter, Daphne Oz, to be the fill-in with her show.

Starting on January 18th, Daphne’s The Good Dish, will take over the time slot during the duration of her father’s political campaign.  This potentially could go all the way through November of 2022, if Oz remains in the race through election day.

Last fall, Fox TV Stations renewed The Dr. Oz Show for two more years which gave it life through 2023.

So, do you think more stations will go bye-bye and have The Dr. Oz show pulled? What do you think of daughter Daphne’s series as the fill-in? Comment below.
