On-Air On-Soaps was on the set of All My Children today for a very special announcement coming next Monday for fans of the show.  While there, we caught up with Susan Lucci (Erica) to ask her about working with Maurice Benard (Sonny) General Hospital in the upcoming “What-If’s” web mash-up series from ABC.com and SOAPnet.com, and how she feels working with her brand new on-screen daughter, Christina Bennett Lind, who premieres on June 15th in the role of Bianca.  Here are some excerpts:

Susan on working with Maurice Benard (Ex-Nico, AMC, now Sonny, GH) in the new “What-If’’s” web series premiering later this summer. “It was fantastic.  Maurice and I had been on our show together, and we always got along very well, but I don’t think we ever had a scene together.  I know when Maurice left All My Children, we both had these headshots with our hair wet and slicked back, and we looked like separated at birth! (Laughs) And, they had them up in the hallway of our studio. (Laughs) But, doing the “What-Ifs” with him… I loved it.  We both had a wonderful time. And we were very vocal about it! (Laughs)  We kept saying, “This is great.  We love working together.  I love you. I love you.  It was great!”

Susan on working with her new Bianca, Lind:  “Christina is wonderful, and is doing a spectacular job, and has big shoes to fill. Eden Riegel (Ex-Bianca, AMC, and now Heather, Y&R) is a very special girl, actress, and human being, and we are close friends.  I don’t like to make comparisons because each person is an individual. So far we have had wonderful scenes together. Christina has a wonderful presence, and a really nice sensibility about her.”

Susan on if Christina has come to her for any advice: “No, she hasn’t it.  As scripts would come up, and if there was a part of our character’s history that I thought she may not be aware of, I would say to her, “Do you know about this?”  And she basically does.  She has been filled in on all of it very well.   She is a lovely actress.”

All My Children Alum Finn Wittrock To Headline ‘Green Lantern’

From Pine Valley to the DC Universe! Now comes word that former All My Children star, Finn Wittrock (Ex-Damon Miller) will take on the role of Guy Gardner/Green Latern on the upcoming HBO Max series, Green Lantern from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Brothers Television.

According to Deadline who dropped the casting news, Wittrock’s Guy Gardner/Green Lantern is “a hulking mass of masculinity, and, as rendered in the comics, an embodiment of 1980s hyper-patriotism. And yet, Guy is somehow likable.”

In the premise of the series, Green Lantern reinvents the classic DC property through a story spanning decades and galaxies, beginning on Earth in 1941 with the very first Green Lantern, secretly gay FBI agent Alan Scott, and 1984, with cocky alpha male Guy Gardner (Wittrock) and half-alien Bree Jarta. They’ll be joined by a multitude of other Lanterns — from comic book favorites to never-before-seen heroes.”

Previously, Finn received Emmy nominations for his work on American Horror Story: Freak Show and for Versace: American Crime Story.
