Tanner Novlan Talks Surprise Return to The Bold and the Beautiful
After all the speculation, Monday’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful confirmed what many had begun suspecting that Finn, who was shot by his mother Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) and died, wasn’t really dead after all!
Actor Tanner Novlan revealed intel about the shocking twist on a surprise appearance on today’s episode of The Talk, also kept under wraps till closer to airtime.
Novlan shared that he knew back when he was told by B&B’s EP and head writer, Brad Bell, that Finn was being killed-off t … that he was actually coming back!
Tanner expressed: “Okay, so here’s the thing. I kinda knew. Don’t be mad at me, but I was blown away at the fans’ reaction to this and ‘Sinn’ nation … I couldn’t believe the support, but, in fact, I’m contractually obligated not to tell you guys and I felt awful about it.”
He also shared that when Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Finn eventually reunite, it will be a major moment for the show and more.
The actor also revealed he and his wife, former B&B star, Kayla Ewell (Ex-Caitlin) are also expecting their second child, a boy!
Watch Tanner on The Talk below, then this week’s promo of The Bold and the Beautiful, followed by a clip from Monday’s episode where it is discovered that Li is nursing Finn back to life.
Now let us know, what do you think about the twist that Finn is alive? Comment below.
I predicted it, that Finn did not die. Not surprised at all. Kimberlin Brown signed a new contract with The Bold and The Beautiful. Love kimberlin Brown aka Sheila Carter. Sheila will be out of jail soon.
Plot driven ratings booster. That happened.
You can hate it all you want but hats off to bold. Many have negative things to say about Brad bell but he has away to pull off these things in a time period where social media lets everyone in on any little secret Brad still managed to keep these big moments away from the media to give the audience that old school surprise. Hats off Brad Stay tuned
So stupid. So the EMTS were wrong, the hospital was wrong, the police surely would have noticed him not being dead. Also they would have taken the bullet out in case they find the gun. Once again B and B does a really dumb story, that makes them look like idiots.
Yes and when Li snuck him out of the hospital the doctor said there was no brain activity so how are they bringing him back from that? So stupid. Was really hoping he was gone. So boring and added nothing to the show
You know for you negative nancies (you know who you are….), just enjoy watching the show or step off. I too knew that Finn wasn’t dead. So, imagine me utter glee when they did the slow camera pan with the fantastic music up to Finn’s face. I was jumping up and down in my chair.
Some people accept poor writing and a terrible show, whereas some people expect and want more.
“Poor writing” and “terrible show” might be a little strong, but I do expect “remotely plausible” (which is not setting the standard very high, I know), and this twist, at least so far, fails that. We may (note: MAY) get a better, more satisfactory explanation for how this all happened without the medical and law enforcement communities catching on, but based on this show’s history, I’m not optimistic. I’m disappointed, I’ll confess: I thought killing Finn was daring and unexpected, and I gave Brad Bell credit for a gutsy move. Obviously that was way premature.
Step off of what? Not wanting to be taken for a mug? Like Sam said in another post here all those various entities, the police, hospital etc. wouldn’t be in on such a massive and serious cover up. So many people hated Sheila Carter so much they were in on the “sting”? It would have been more interesting witnessing the trap being set and sprung and wondering if wily Sheila would fall into it. Like on Y&R when Adrian rigged up that dry ice gun and left Cassandra seconds from death before Victor raced in and saved her. It would have been better and more tense wondering if Sheila was aware she was walking into a trap and had a plan of her own like a gun with blanks. But this fill in the blanks nonsense is just that. Plot hole driven nonsense that insults the viewers intelligence. Not stepping off.
Agree
Unless most of us live in a black hole we. know Tanner has been on set and back to work. Yes, a lot of it has been rumors and supposition but we’ve also seen spoilers and I wouldn’t call anything we saw today a surprise. Someone’s giving Mr. BELL accolades for keeping this secrets, sorry to say it didn’t work. That cat’s been out of the bag for months. I feel like we had to go through all this crap with Sheila, knowing what the outcome would be.
This was a “surprise” in the same way it was a surprise that the sun came up in the East today.
I was shocked! I’m glad Finn isn’t dead.
No surprise at all. The show thought they were being slick and tricking us by immediately removing his pic from the credits but left in people who are no longer on the show like Denise Richards.
Bold was never a favorite of mine, but…I will admit the show has a way of pulling out ALL the stops, and being a total runaway train. The Finn twist is old-school soapy soap.
Since when would you leave your son on machines in a hotel room alone ? That’s my main objection and I do think the reveal was pushed up because social media was going nuts so angry over the old triangle and that episode with Liam and the flashbacks was so disgusting. You are still going to get months of Steffy Liam and Hope and by the time you find out Finn is alive good old Liam will be back with Steffy! I know let’s do a storyline on the trio becoming Mormons and Steffy and Hope are sister wives and then we add some more wives ! Also who would not want to see their grandson just sloppy .
Kay
I don’t know where I thought he was, but a hotel room? Good, Li can get room service to change his drip when necessary.
I’ve tried watching B&B after OLTL and AMC were kicked off ABC. Been through the triangles and baby stories. But I realize I don’t like it’s stories or characters. Especially Steffy. And I hate guns. To much of them in real life. So as one commenter has suggested, I’m going to “step off” watching.
I love it! Now get rid of Taylor,Deacon and get Ridge back with Brooke, Don’t really care about Sheila, let Hope and Liam finally be Happy!

‘Days of Our Lives’ Officially Confirms Ryan Quan Returning as Co-Head Writer Beginning in July
There is definitely a shake-up going down at the writing team at Peacock’s Days of Our Lives. Now, the long-running soap opera has confirmed, what has been previously reported, that current General Hospital breakdown writer, Ryan Quan is heading back to his old stomping grounds in Salem. This time as the series co-head writer.
The appointment of Quan comes with the official news that current co-head writer, Paula Cwikly, who was previously rumored to be departing the series, is not. She is staying with the soap opera and transitioning to a consultant role with the show. Now, Quan will join current co-head writer, Jeanne Marie Ford to steer the ship for the characters on the canvas.
On Wednesday, TV Insider, reported the official confirmation and that Quan will return to DAYS next month in July. THE FUTURE OF DAYS OF OUR LIVES
Since Days of our Lives unusual production schedule tapes ten-months ahead of air, the new creative team’s vision led by Quan and Jeanne Marie Ford are not expected to stream on Peacock until mid-2027.
Days of Our Lives is currently renewed through its 63rd season. The former NBC soap opera which transitioned to Peacock in September of 2022, celebrate its 60th anniversary in November of 2025.
The writing regime change comes after NBCUniversal Media Chairman Matt Strauss revealed that Peacock is expected to turn a profit for the first time in the current quarter, punctuating their investment with the enduring soap opera on its platform.
As for Quan, his knowledge of Salem is tremendous. Ryan joined Days of Our Lives as a writer’s assistant in 2007 after some time over at Passions. He then spent two decades and held every position on the writing team where he previously served as co-head writer from 2016-17 alongside Dena Higley.
Later, when Ron Carlivati took over as head writer for 7 years in 2017, Quan became his right-hand man and main story consultant for his deep knowledge of the history and the legacy of the show. After Carlivati exited the show in 2024, General Hospital hired Quan in 2025.
So, what do you think about DAYS making it official with Ryan Quan as the new co-head writer of the series alongside Jeanne Marie Ford. What do you think about the fact we won’t see the changes on-screen till 2027? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

ABC Announces ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Texas Spin-Off Gets Straight-to-Series Order
In a surprise move, coming a week after ABC unveiled its 2026-2027 fall television schedule, Grey’s Anatomy is getting a new spinoff co-created by the original series’ creator/executive producer Shonda Rhimes.
The new untitled medical drama will be written and executive produced by Rhimes and Grey’s Anatomy showrunner/executive producer Meg Marinis under the Shondaland and 20th Television umbrella. In addition, long-running ‘Grey’s’ star Ellen Pompeo will also serve as an EP of the spinoff.
The upcoming new series will debut midseason in 2027. This will be the first of Grey’s franchise not set in urban city or West Coast locale. According to Deadline, the new “edgy drama is about a team at a rural West Texas medical center — the last chance for care before miles of nowhere.”

In a statement, Marinis shared, “I am incredibly excited to expand the Grey’s Anatomy universe. This opportunity will bring new characters and stories to life that will embody the same heart, emotion and connection audiences have loved from Grey’s for more than two decades — all set in my home state of Texas. I am so grateful to Shonda Rhimes for creating this dynamic world and feel so fortunate that I get to be a part of it.”
A NEW GROUP OF DOCTORS IN RURAL TEXAS
The Texas spinoff will feature a a new group of doctors, but there will be some connection to the OG Grey’s Anatomy and possibly to Debbie Allen’s character of Catherine Fox. The amount of episodes in the series order has not yet been determined. Previous Grey’s Anatomy spinoffs were the defunct Station 19 and Private Practice.
Previously, Grey’s Anatomy was renewed for its upcoming 23rd season while the amount of episodes is unclear. The last two seasons the series produced 18 episodes.
It should also be noted, Grey’s Anatomy and the Texas spinoff would likely share a time period, which requires limited-run orders for both with Grey’s premiering in the fall, followed by the spinoff on the midseason programming block.
