Telma Hopkins Returns to The Young and the Restless and Shares Scenes with Former ‘Half & Half’ Co-Star Valarie Pettiford
Look who’s coming back to The Young and the Restless and doing some investigating? Actress and singer, Telma Hopkins is returning to her role as private eye Denise Tolliver, who will help Valarie Pettiford’s Amy Lewis look for her son, Damian, the half-brother to Nate (Sean Dominic).
In story, as Amy’s health is failing she wants to see her son and reunite him with Nate. Look for Hopkins and Lewis to share scenes on the upcoming December 19th and December 27th episodes of the top-rated CBS daytime drama.

The last time Hopkins was in Genoa City was back in 2021. At that time, Denise showed up at Devon’s door to deliver some major news on Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) which reunited her with former Family Matters son Bryton James.
Now its Denise’s turn to help Amy out and try to find Damian. Speaking with Soaps.com, Hopkins said on her upcoming return, “Denise is who she is. She’s an investigator. She’s nosy. She’s got the best job in the world, and now she can get in everybody’s business legally.”
Pettiford was over the moon to share moments on Y&R with the former Tony Orlando & Dawn singer, “I just look into her eyes. It just makes all the difference in the world because you don’t have to work.”

In addition Pettiford, who’s last soap role was on One Life to Live as Sheila Price, is having a blast on Y&R, and shares she wouldn’t mind sticking around, if the show doesn’t kill her off! “I’m going to be very honest with you,” she told the outlet. “I never thought I would do a soap again. I just didn’t think it was ever going to be in the cards for me. I had no idea what I was walking into and then I get here and it is so delicious – the character, the writing, the cast, the crew.”
So, what do you think about the return of Telma Hopkins? Are you enjoying Valarie Pettiford as Amy and just who is playing Damian? Stay tuned and comment below.
Storyline is a major bore Feels like it’s being written as it goes along
Agreed. I am so not interested.
Those things hold true for some other storylines imo. Some of the storylines & characters, although they may not be boring, are hard to watch.
I either watch or FF. I enjoy the ones I like & I realize that other people who watch the show may enjoy what I don’t.
One thing I definitely do is give the stories a chance to develop before I decide I don’t like them.
This made me smile. I love that Y & R is reuniting these 2 actresses. I loved them as Phyllis & Big Dee Dee on Half & Half, they were always fun. Kudos to Y & R for giving fans something extra!
This news made me smile. I loved them as Phyllis & Big DeeDee on Half & Half, how entertaining they were & that they were always fun.
Glad they are being reunited on Y & R. Kudos to Y& R for doing this for the fans of these 2 actressses.
I am looking forward to seeing this story develop and to meeting Nate’s brother.
