THE BACHELORETTE: During ‘Hometowns’ Jed’s Family Takes A Wrecking Ball To His Relationship With Hannah

Photo: ABC

Maybe everyone should think twice about bringing a potential suitor home to meet the folks and the siblings?  That’s what Jed and Hannah were probably feeling after that debacle of a hometown on Monday night’s pivotal episode of The Bachelorette.

After having great meet the family moments with Peter and Tyler, and even with Luke (will get back to that in a moment). Hannah probably would never expect to have a family of naysayers thrown at her when she comes to Knoxville with Jed, who at that point had been considered one of the front-runners to win the final rose.  Before they meet Jed’s family, they go record a song together that they co-write on the spot ! The song is supposed to represent their relationship and talks about cobblestone streets within the lyrics  Is this song going to come out on Spotify before we know it?  To add more drama to the moment, Jed says he cannot contain it any longer and confesses that he loves her.  Hannah seems moved.

Now when we get to the family hometown – Jed’s mother makes an odd toast about “sticking to your truth.”  Later, things get very tense and awkward when Hannah speaks with Jed’s mom alone, and tells her that she told Jed that she is falling in love with him  “Do you say that to all of them?” Jed’s mom quipped.

When talk turns to his music career both Jed’s sister, and mother told Hannah that Jed is really only about his music carer, and she might want to run the other way.  There may not be room in his life for her and his music.   Then, there is this whole other side story of Jed’s other girlfriend (Haley Stevens) no one is mentioning.  Following the evening with Jed’s family, Hannah is confused, not knowing what to do, but clearly has opened her eyes that she might be second fiddle in Jed’s life.

Previously, when Hannah met Luke’s family and friends, she saw how religious and how important, really important, his faith was to him, and how everyone loved him.  But, Hannah expressed what happened to Luke’s family with the other guys in the house. and how they hated on Luke throughout the entire competition.  She didn’t quite get the answers she was hoping for, except, that when Luke knows he is wrong about something he quickly fixes it.

When it is time for the rose ceremony, Hannah is supposed to kick one guy to the curb. She gives roses to Peter and Tyler.  Then has a mini-meltdown.  Then goes back in and can’t give a rose to either Jed or Luke,   She says she needs more time with everyone so everyone is staying and getting a rose.  Jed is pissed that he was almost tossed out when it was between him and Luke … and is very concerned what this means for his relationship with Hannah.  Will he stay or quit the show next week?

In an Instagram post telling viewers to back-off his family and more following the airing of last night’s episode, Jed related:  “Hi y’all. Several of you have reached out with messages and questions.  Please know I’m not able to answer right now, but as soon as I’m able to, I will. Until then, I ask that you please understand how much the actions being taken towards myself, my family, the men on the show, and above all, Hannah, are affecting all of our mental and physical health. It goes beyond what is said online. Threatening letters and phone calls have been sent to our homes. My parents and sister are being verbally attacked in public. I beg you to remember what seems like a harmless action is damaging to real people. I want to thank all of you who have reached out or reserved judgement until I am able to speak openly and I can only ask for your patience and kindness until then.”

So, will it be Peter vs. Tyler for the final rose, or are Jed and Luke (who looks like he gets kicked to the curb in next week’s promo) going to be there in the end for the heart of Hannah? Comment below on all The Bachelorette drama.

When you basically go on a show that could be renamed The BootyCall…don’t beg for sympathy. A good majority watch the show just to tear the participants to shreds on social media. Personally I may have watched all of one episode years ago. Truth.

The Triumphant Return of Kelly Thiebaud As GH’s Dr. Britt Westbourne

When a shocked Nurse Felix Dubois (Marc Anthony Samuel) exclaimed “Dear lord, the Britch is back,” after seeing none other than Dr. Britt Westbourne with her lab coat hovering around the nurses station at “General Hospital”, you knew things were about to go down on the ABC daytime drama series.

Over the past few weeks, Kelly Thiebaud has been in action on-screen on General Hospital as the the trouble-making, complicated, Britt.   Since returning to the canvas, viewers learned that: Britt has been paroled from her previous crimes, seems to say she believes and actually likes her half-brother, Peter August (Wes Ramsey), has confronted her mutter in jail (Liesl Obrecht played by Kathleen Gati), whom Peter framed, and showed up at Brad’s (Parry Shen) hearing to be there for her bestie, who has been in hot water for the baby switch of Wiley.

But, there have been a lot more intriguing things than even that! Britt is now hitting the sheets with none-other than Julian (William deVry), and also let him know in no uncertain terms she knows his part in the whole Brad cover-up.   But what is her true motive?  We also learned in a run-in at GH, that Neil (Joe Flanigan) and Britt know each other from somewhere.  He is trying to put his finger on just where, but does Britt know? Probably!

However, the best  and most entertaining moment on soaps last week was when Britt arrived in her lab coat to GH and revealed to both Felix and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) that she had worked hard enough to be able to get her medical license restored … and that Monica (Leslie Charleson) brought her on with a provisional acceptance as a temporary replacement for Dr. Kim Nero as an OBGYN for the hospital. Felix says give it two weeks and she will do something to mess things up.

Just then, in our favorite scene of the week, Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) and Ava (Maura West) happen by, and when Britt, who is Nik’s ex, sees him she saunters over to him and slaps him hard across the face and spits out, “That’s for Spencer.”  She goes on to berate him for how he hurt his son; by letting him believe that his father was dead for three years!  Britt tells Nikolas it would serve him right if Spencer knew spoke to him again.

Next, Elizabeth chimes in and tells Britt to stop acting all high and mighty.  Britt fires back that she is not surprised that Liz, another one of Nik’s ex’s, would defend him.  Britt says, “The more things change, the more they stay the same.”

Scene after scene, Kelly Thiebaud has lit up the screen and put the “feisty” back onto the ABC soap opera.  As an actress, Kelly can go from the heavy drama, to the comedic, to the sexy, all with ease.

In the March 30th issue of Soap Opera Digest, Thiebaud said of her return:  “Frank Valentini reached out to me the beginning of the year and mentioned that the writers wanted to bring me back for a bit.  I said,’Of course, I will,  I would love nothing more than that!”‘ I just really connect with Britt and have a blast playing her.”

So let us know, have you been enjoying the return of Kelly as Dr. Britt Westbourne, thus far? What do you think Britt is up to? Comment below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Alexis Breaks Three Years of Sobriety, Carly Locks Up Nelle, Nikolas & Liz Continue to Reconnect

On Friday’s episode of General Hospital, after downing a drink at a bar, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) held off on a second one, but unfortunately and sadly lost her sobriety of three years.  When she called people in her life to come get her out of the bar and home,  no one was available, so she called none other than her ex Julian (William deVry).

And it was Julian to the rescue, who also took the legal eagle to an AA meeting. The car ride between them was not all pleasant, especially when Alexis went down memory lane for a moment and recalled when Julian held a knife at her throat.  After the fallout with Neil (Joe Flanagan), she wondered why she ruins all her relationships … consistently.

Elsewhere. Michael (Chad Duell) is trying to get Nelle (Chloe Lanier) to sign and authorize the heart defect surgery on Wiley.  Michael said they  need both parents signature on the consent forms and Nelle is refusing to sign.  When Carly (Laura Wright) finds out she is ready to handle Nelle and goes up on the hospital rooftop to confront her.   Once there, she tells Nelle this is her chance to get people over to her side by signing the consent to let her son have the surgery he needs.  Carly also tells her that Wiley is her leverage.  If she lets her son die, she has nothing to hold over everybody.  And still, after all of that, Nelle refuses to sign.  So, resourceful Carly locks Nelle in and up on the roof so she can’t leave!  Will Nelle come to her senses for a few seconds and sign the papers?  Previously, Nelle told Michael her kidney surgery basically ruined her life, so she does not want to do the same thing to their son.

Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) is worried about Cameron (William Lipton) and so she sets him up with a therapy session with Neil.  Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) happens by the hospital after getting Ava (Maura West) squared away with Franco (Roger Howarth) for his portrait painting of her in the art room.  He runs into Liz and she shares her concerns for Cameron, and how familiar it is to he,r and how traumatized he must be – having two incidents where he was basically kidnapped within a years time.  She bring up how when she was raped when she was younger that Emily, Lucky and Nikolas were there for her.  Are Nikolas and Liz growing closer again?  Are Ava and Franco?

And … leave it to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) to get what she wants …. and what she wants is to hit the hay with Julian, after Julian hit her up late after dropping off Alexis.  Is he on the rebound from his car talk with Alexis? Or, is she just so into Britt for some fun?

So, were you upset that Alexis drank? Do you like Britt and Julian hooking-up? Will Carly get Nelle to sign the consent forms  for Wiley’s surgery? And, are you intrigued by a redux of a Liz and Nikolas romance? Comment below.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: Brooke Faces The Wrath Of Everyone After Her Kiss With Bill Is Seen By All

Oh Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang)! How were you going to explain away this one?  On Friday’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, surrounded by the people she loves, and her arch nemesis Quinn (Rena Sofer), Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge’s (Thorsten Kaye) recommitment soiree’ goes bust, when Ridge and company get an eyeful on Ridge’s iPad during his picture montage of his time with Brooke, only sequestered within it, thanks to Quinn, is the footage of Bill (Don Diamont) and Brooke’s recent kiss!

Now, the fallout begins! As Ridge and Katie (Heather Tom) are besides themselves with hurt and betrayal as it appears that Bill and Brooke once again could not keep their hands and lips off of each other.

Photo: JPI

Ridge has had it, and in no uncertain terms, smashes the iPad in defiance of the memories he shared with Brooke , and then after Bill opens his mouth to try to explain how Brooke needed comforting over Thomas (Matt Atkinson), especially since Ridge never believed her about his son, Ridge then hauls off and punches the guy.

Katie can’t believe it either!  She thought this was buried once and for all between them, but then she realizes she feels once again gullible to her sister’s seemingly endless attraction to the man she loves, Bill!

Photo: JPI

Quinn is loving every minute of this, and meanwhile at Shauna’s, Flo (Katrina Bowden) and Shauna (Denise Richards) are discussing why Shauna is leaving town, which stems from her loving Ridge, and not being able to be with him; even though she knows that Brooke’s world can come tumbling down with that videotape of that kiss with Bill.  Might she still have her shot at love with Ridge?

Back at the party, Brooke tries to explain to all and mostly to Ridge and Katie, how the kiss happened, and how it did not mean anything, and that she was in a vulnerable place after Thomas had just left.  So, Bill came in to comfort her.  But no matter how hard she tried, and through her tears and through her pleas that she loves Ridge and her sister, Ridge is  now ready to walk out on Brooke for good, and Katie is disgusted.

In this episode, B&B stalwart, Katherine Kelly Lang delivered a great performance of a woman who knows she did wrong, tries to explain it away and rationalize what happened; when nothing good could possibly come out of it for her.  Open, vulnerable, honest Brooke lays it all on the line, but who is going to easily forgive her for this?

After the episode aired, B&B and CBS Daytime released the promo for next week’s episodes, which show that Ridge does wind up at Shauna’s. (Check it out below) Now, what will happen between them and is Bridge finally over?

In the comment section, let us know what you thought about today’s episode and what happened to Brooke during the party after her secret kiss with Bill was revealed!
