THE BACHELORETTE Season Finale: Zac Puts A Ring On It As Tayshia Gets Her Man

The pandemic version of the hit reality-dating series franchise, The Bachelorette, had a few major twists.  First, that in the middle of the season the lead ‘Bachelorette’ had to be switched out, when Clare Crawley found love early with Dale Moss and exited the show.

Enter Tayshia Adams, who then started her own journey with the men who were still part of Clare’s season and a few others brought in to add to the mix.

The entire production had to be quarantined and shot in one location in Palm Springs, California.  Even the hometown dates were in Palm Springs as family members from the men still in the competition were brought there.  So with limited locales, the season was not always big and splashy, but in the end, and on the second night of the two-night season finale, you could not have asked for a sweeter ending and proposal between Zac Clark and Tayshia.

So how did Tayshia and Zac end up together?  Here’s a brief rundown from last night’s two-hour season finale:

With Ben back in the mix and asking for a second chance, (after he could not tell Tayshia the last time that he loved her, he did so now), she invites him to the rose ceremony, where Ivan and Zac, who were the two last men standing, were in for a shock.

At the ceremony, Tayshia asks to talk to Ivan privately. She takes him aside and tells him she has concerns over religion from their overnight date, so much so that she does not think they can go any further and she sends him home.  That means, Tayshia gives her two roses to her finalists: Zac and Ben,

On her last date with Zac prior to the final rose ceremony, Tayshia is not herself when the couple go to a dance class together.  Her anxiety is getting the best of her and it was hard to tell if she was just not feeling Zac anymore, as she is now for Ben, or if she is just getting jitters over the whole process. Later, away from the dancing, Zac and Tayshia have a heart-to-heart, where she is worried what happens if something changes between them, (since she was previously divorced, as was he) and that he does not want her anymore?  Zac said calmly, “No matter what, I’m not going anywhere.”  That helped put Tayshia’s mind at ease, somewhat!

Next, she has made a decision to tell Ben, it’s over between them.  She sits him down and tells him she has stronger feelings for Zac.  Ben shares, “I was excited to be back, I was really hopeful that we would be together.  When you love somebody, you want them to be happy.”  So with that, he realizes it’s time to pack it up, sharing with the cameras that he believed their lives would have been so good together.

Zac is choosing an emerald diamond to give Tayshia from Neil Lane (of course, at this juncture, he has no idea that Ben has been sent home).  Then, we see both Zac and Tayshia getting ready for the big proposal day.  Will she accept Zac’s proposal … doubts swirling through her head and all?

As the final rose ceremony began, Zac delivered a heart-tugging speech which included: “The first conversation we ever had by our fountain, we talked about how everything happens for a reason. I came here because I was supposed to meet you, I came here because I was supposed to fall in love with you. Nothing has ever felt so right in my entire life. I love you, Tayshia. We spoke of the importance of loyalty, and I will always be loyal to you.”

Tayshia finally and fully let her guard down and shared to Zac; “I know that I told you that I love you, but it’s more than that. It’s this wild, wild love that I’ve tried to come up with so many reasons to not believe, and you have truly made me believe that there doesn’t have to be flaws, and that I deserve love with a man who won’t run away. I love you, Zac Clark.”

As Tayshia is sobbing as Zac gets down on one knee, she says “Yes” to his proposal, and to make it official she gives Zac the final rose which he accepts. Next, they ride off into the sunset in a symbolic cardboard taxi to New York City where Zac lives.

On Wednesday, Tayshia and Zac made their first TV appearance together since their engagement four months ago.  They told Good Morning America that they were looking forward to dating and taking it one step at a time, and that Tayshia will be bi-coastal for now, but spending time on the east coast with Zac over the holidays.

So, happy that Tayshia chose Zac? Share you thoughts on this unpredictable season and last night’s episode via the comment section below.

THE BACHELORETTE: Tayshia Picks Her Final Four; Clare Has Special Thanks After Yosef’s ‘Men Tell All’ Appearance

As part of a two-night ‘Bachelorette’ event, an emotional Tayshia whittled down the remaining suitors to four in time for the hometowns, which will be part of Tuesday’s episode.

How did she make her decision and who did she eliminate?  Well, during her one-on-one date with Blake, she realized she was just not feeling it with him.  She realized, “I don’t think he’s my guy”.   Next, she sent him home.  That sent Tayshia into a teary fallout realizing she has something more to do, to not let these men who have developed feeling for her, suffer any further if her heart is not in it.

Next, she shows up in tears in front of the men left vying for the final rose.  She pulls Riley aside and they go talk privately.  That is where she tells him, he is not the one for her, either, and sends him packing!  Riley is devastated, and so is Tayshia, apparently.

Chris Harrison tells the guys that Tayshia wants to skip the cocktail party and go right to the rose ceremony as she knows what she wants to do.  The men are upset they won’t get another chance for time with her.  At the rose ceremony, Bennett, who for some reason she contemplated giving a second chance to (he was already sent home, but showed up at Tayshia’s room last week professing his feelings for her), and Noah, who has been in a feud with Bennett all season, where both axed!

That left Brendan Morais, Ivan Hall, Ben Smith, and Zac Clark who will introduce their families to Tayshia tonight.

After the episode, the annual Men Tell All began with social distancing in place, no studio audience, and all the suitors who are out of the running back to throw shade on each other.  While all of that went down as per usual, the series brought back the villain of the season, Yosef, who came out later in the hour.  During his appearance the show played back his final moments which involved telling -off Clare Crawley, who was the first Bachelorette this season before exiting early after finding love with contestant Dale Moss.

Yosef was still unapologetic for his actions and words from the October episode which included him saying to Clare: “I expected a lot more from the oldest Bachelorette there’s ever been.”  That came from the single father who had some choice words for Crawley after the losing team of guys in a Dodgeball game had to strip down.  He went on to say: “You’re not setting the right example to my daughter. I’m ashamed to be associated with you. I can’t believe I sacrificed so much to be here just to watch this distasteful, classless display.”

Crawley took to social media last night after the Men Tell All airing whee the guys stood up for her and shared: “I wish they would have let me be in attendance to let these men know in person how much their words + support have meant to me. Thank you gentlemen.  From the bottom of my heart.”

So, what did you think of Tayshia’s final four choices for hometowns? What did you think of Yosef not backing down from his original remarks to Clare? Comment below.

THE BACHELORETTE: Clare’s Laser-Focus on Dale Pisses Off The Other Guys; ABC Exec Robert Mills Reveals The Turning Point When They Knew They Had To Replace Her

There was a lot to unpack on last night’s episode of ABC’s The Bachelorette, and it’s becoming harder to like Clare and Dale in this messy first part of the season where everyone is awaiting next week’s installment where things are previewed to really blow up.  Thus, setting the stage for Tayshia Adams to replace Clare as the new ‘Bachelorette’.

So here is what went down: Yosef finally could not take it anymore and had to get off of his chest what he felt about Clare … to her! In a moment alone with her, he told her how “immature” she was and how demeaning it was to the men to make them play “strip dodgeball” and that the way she was behaving is not something he wants his daughter to see.  He tells her there are a lot of  “red flags” surrounding her.

Photo: IG

Yosef then launched into: “I’m ashamed to be associated with you!” Adding, “I can’t believe I sacrificed so much to be here just for this tasteless and classless display.”   Clare fired-back, “I never thought I would have to repeat these words to another man. I would never want my children to have a father like you. Get out of here.”   Of course, Clare was referencing her tirade launched on Juan Pablo during his season of The Bachelor in which she was the runner-up.  Back to this season, an angry Yosef gets in the limo and it is driven away, and thus he is never to be heard from again in the episode.

But lo and behold, who should come to crying Clare’s rescue? Yup, you got it, Dale, the man she is enamored with, holding her in his arms and consoling her.  Later, Clare in a testimonial tells the cameras she is falling in love with him.

Photo: ABC

Fast forward – after cancelling the group date Clare brought the following men outside of her place for a cocktail party: Jason, Jay, Eazy, Chasen, Blake, Ed and Riley … and Dale! But then Dale tells the guys he wants a few moments alone with Clare and will be back.  Next thing you know Clare and Dale are gone for an hour because they are making out at Clare’s place, until Eazy finds them together, at that point, pretending that they were just hanging out.  Now all the guys are pissed at Dale.

Next, Clare goes on a one-one-one date with Zac J. and it blows up in his face, when he goes in for a kiss and grabs her by the neck and the arm and she doesn’t like it.  Later, Chris Harrison tells him that Clare will not be joining him for dinner, so he is sent packing and limo’s off the show too!

Photo: ABC

Then, we come to the ‘Roast’ where the guys are going to learn how to do some comedic roasting of one another by comedian Margaret Cho, who came to the La Quinta for a guest appearance on the reality-dating show.. But instead of throwing zingers at each other, Dale was the epicenter of the remarks, especially from Bennett, who really laid in to him as witnessed by Clare and Margaret who thought it was very hostile, while the other men really enjoyed it.

Later, during a cocktail party where all the guys were hoping for one-one-one time with Clare, she spent the entire party individually talking to them about Dale, and what Dale was saying about her in the house, and about the hostility shown to him by all the guys,  Then, the guys were over her!   After the suitors did not “give her what she needed,” Clare told a producer, “I’m not going to sit there (after they) dished on my fiance; so hard!” What?

In addition, after the roast group date that went south,  Clare during a testimonial decided to give herself the rose instead of any of her suitors! On former ‘Bachelor’s” Nick Viall’s podcast, ‘The Viall Files’, Robert Mills, ABC’s Alternative Series, Specials & Late-Night Programming, noted that was the turning point for the production, citing: “When she didn’t give out that rose and she just gave it to herself, that was it.  That was really it, when we started making the call (to replace her).”

At the end of the episode, we were given a sneak peek to next week which will air on a special night due to the presidential election. The Bachelorette returns on Thursday November 5th.  In the preview, Tayshia is seen coming out of a pool in a bikini, as Clare’s time as the ‘Bachelorette’ is quickly coming to an end.
