‘The Bold and the Beautiful’s’ Katherine Kelly Lang Weighs-In on if Ridge Forrester is a Narcissist?
This week, The Bold and the Beautiful is celebrating their 39th anniversary on the air having debuted back on March 23, 1987. Legacy series star, Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan Forrester), one of two remaining members from the original cast, the other being John McCook (Eric Forrester), sat down with Finland’s Zarathustra Strong during YLE TV1 set visit to the set of the CBS soap opera.
The reporter/personality was intrigued to find out why Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) at times, treats Brooke so badly, and along the way during his set visit even confronts Thorsten Kaye about it!
During her sit-down chat, Katherine talked about the history of Brooke and Ridge, “She had to cater with her mom (at the Forresters) and she turns around and it’s just love at first sight. And that was it for Brooke. That’s all that she can think about. That’s all that’s been in her head ever since and still is. But that was a big moment, and it was interesting because it just set off that whole storyline of Ridge and Brooke for all these years.”

THE WAY RIDGE TREATS BROOKE
When asked if Ridge Forrester is a narcissist? Lang coyly answer, “Of course, I can’t say anything bad about him because Brooke is so in love with him. So, I have to figure out how to justify some of his behavior. We’ve had good moments and bad moments. I think Ridge has come around more and he’s more caring, more sensitive, and not all about himself. So Brooke is, of course, very happy with him, so happy to be married to him again for the umpteenth time. I don’t even know how many times it is. Down deep, he (Ridge) is a good guy.”
Katherine went on to explain the male energy of Ridge Forrester, “He has definitely has that male presence… that male energy. He’s very, ‘I am the man and I’m strong and I can take care of everything.’

Taking to her Instagram, Lang expressed this interview: “To celebrate this incredible milestone, I sat down for a special interview with Finland’s channel YLE TV1. where we revisited some of the most unforgettable moments, shared behind-the-scenes memories, and talked about what keeps the show so special after nearly four decades. And yes… we couldn’t skip Brooke & Ridge We filmed this from the brand-new set at Sunset Las Palmas Studios, which made it even more exciting!”
Check out the interview with YLETV 1 ‘s Zarathustra Strong and Katherine Kelly Lang and Thorsten Kaye below.
Then let us know, do you feel Ridge Forrester is a narcissist? How badly do you feel he had treated Brooke over the years? Let us know in the comment section.
Immature
Self involved
Selfish
Narcissist
Thoughtless
Low self esteem
The list can go on BUT the the man has Brooke wrapped around his finger
Pippa…those are very, very accurate descriptions of that ICKY-LOOKING CAVEMAN Ridge (LOL). But…I have a, uh, list of my own…
R=REPULSIVE
I=INSUFFERABLE
D=DISGUSTING
G=GROSS
E=EGOTISTICAL
You’re welcome.
Both Brooke and Ridge are narcissists. Absolutely. Entitled, too.
Can’t stand either of them I tried really tried to watch it today to see if I was being too hard on them. Nope an awful show this is not the show that Bill Bell created anymore then Y&R I want to escape be entertained . It is not happening so bye
Brad bell should have never brought back Taylor he totally destroyed the character. And the bastard was happy to do it
I honestly liked brook and thought Ridge was better with brook but now I think they are even more meant for one another if the focus isn’t on brook and ridge then everyone’s at fault but them. So at this point I hope they get stuck and bad they think the world owes them everything.
Yes he is a narcissist Brooke Logan should be mine not his anymore and he should go back taylor and give me Brooke Logan forever
Of course he is a narcissist and both Brooke and Taylor are doormats with no sense of self-respect. They have been fighting over Ridge for LITERALLY THIRTY-FIVE YEARS! Any self respecting woman a long time ago would have told the other one that she could have him. For his part, Ridge never has any downtime alone. As soon as he has a falling out with Brooke or Taylor, he beats a path to the other one’s door until that goes south and then he heads right back to the other one. He takes ZERO time to reflect on what went wrong and be alone for a while. Either Brooke and Taylor have no back bone to stand up to him and stick with it… or Ridge’s junk must have a gold tip at the end of it!

CAKE FIGHTS AND CORPORATE INTRIGUE
The book description for The Young and the Rest of Us adds, “In June 1987, Jess Walton walked through the artists’ entrance at CBS for her first day on The Young and the Restless,where she had just been hired to play the recast role of Jill Abbott. Two Emmy awards, four decades, and countless onscreen affairs, marriages, corporate takeovers, and cake fights later, she’s a beloved icon with an astonishing tale to tell.”
“In her refreshingly candid style, Jess shares her journey as a young actress from Toronto theaters to Los Angeles, where she found herself at the center of a Laurel Canyon circle that included the likes of Neil Young, David Geffen, Laura Nyro, and Joni Mitchell. Landing a Universal contract and a steady stream of guest starring roles, Jess embraced everything 1970s L.A. had to offer—including Hollywood parties fueled by limitless booze and drugs, and trysts with stars. She recounts with candor and gratitude the surprising path that eventually led her to sobriety, true love—and ultimately, to fictional Genoa City, Wisconsin, and the role of a lifetime.”
“Brimming with behind-the-scenes drama and celebrity cameos to delight fans, The Young and the Rest of Us is also rich in personal, relatable truths about marriage, motherhood, empty-nesting, self-discovery, and finding the courage to start over—as often as it takes. In a voice as fearless and frank as Jill’s, but with, humor and grace all her own, Jess Walton looks back on a life as unpredictable, and adventure filled as anything she has portrayed on screen.”
WHO ELSE PLAYED JILL FOSER ABBOTT?
Fans of The Young and the Restless know that Walton became the fourth actress to take on the role of Katherine Chancellor’s original nemesis Jill Foster back in 1987. The OG Jill was played by Brenda Dickson, also Deborah Adair, Bond Gideon and Melinda O. Fee played the part.
This year, Days of our Lives star Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) filled-in for several episodes for Walton who was unavailable to travel from her home in Oregon to Los Angeles where Y&R was taped. Walton is still with the long-running soap opera as Jill.

Days Of Our Lives
‘Heated Rivalry’ Star Franco LoPresti Opens Up About ‘Days of our Lives’ Debut as Dante Vitali

Next week on Monday, September 14 will mark the first appearance in Salem of Franco LoPresti in his new Days of our Lives role of Dante Vitali.
Heated Rivalry fans now LoPresti very well from his part as hockey player Cliff Marleau in the series first season. (No word yet if Cliff appears in season 2).
Now in a conversation with TV Insider, DAYS fans will learn that LoPresti is on the soap for a limited run. No timetable was given.

When LoPresti does burst onto the scene come Monday, Dante makes quite the impact as Franco LoPresti explains. It seems that viewers will first see him in scenes in Monte Carlo at a poker table with none other than Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier). However, Dante will come to Salem to talk to the Brady family about his supposed fiancée Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney).
Franco shared, “Dante was born and grew up in Italy and educated at this pretty top-tier English boarding school. He then went on to build his own dynasty in finance, all the while trying to distance himself from the Vitali name (as viewers know Tamara Braun played his cousin Ava Vitali).”
“But at the core of Dante, there’s definitely an old-school quality to him”, continued LoPresti. “He’s super passionate, he’s sincere and incredibly generous, but he’s also someone that you probably shouldn’t underestimate. Loyalty is something that means a lot to him. As Dante enters Salem, I think the audience will get to slowly peel back those layers and discover what’s really driving him. So, I’m excited for Days fans to go on that ride with Dante.”

As it turns out, LoPresti taped his episodes of DAYS starting back in November 2025 which happened to be weeks before Heated Rivalry became a smash hit.
Franco recalled, “It’s so funny because I thought my episodes would air in a month (on Days of our Lives). But I found out it was nine to 10 months and I was like, ‘I gotta wait that long?!’ So, I’ve been biting my nails, trying not to think about it, and I think it’s actually kind of helped because now it’s here and it’s all coming at me from all different angles. I’m nervous. I’m excited, and I just can’t wait to see it all come together. It’s one of the best jobs I’ve ever had for sure.”
In his personal life, Franco just had his first child with wife, actress Emily Alatalo, just a weeks ago on August 23rd when they welcomed their daughter, Stella into the world.
So, looking forward to seeing Franco LoPresti’s debut come Monday? What do you think about the fact that it’s being reported as a limited run? Do you think Dante and Sami have a chance on-screen or off-screen to be a happy couple? What do you really think brings Dante to Salem sans Sami?
