The Bold and the Beautiful’s Laneya Grace on Becoming Electra Forrester
B&B has ramped up its younger set with the impending on-screen arrival of Laneya Grace in the role of Electra Forrester who set to debut on the upcoming October 22nd episode of the CBS daytime drama series.
Grace from all accounts looks to be the love interest for Crew Morrow’s Will Spencer, or perhaps Joshua Hoffman’s R.J. Forrester. Laneya spoke to TV Insider about her first big break in soapland and becoming a part of the soap opera’s iconic Forrester family. In story, Electra is the granddaughter of Eric’s (John McCook) brother, John Forrester (the late Fred Willard) and Ivy Forrester (Ashleigh Brewer) is her Aunt.
“It’s just an incredible legacy to be a part of. I didn’t even realize I would get to be a part of when I was first auditioning, and they gave me my name and it said Forrester, and I was like, ‘Oh, my goodness. Are you serious?’ So, I definitely felt a little bit of pressure before I started, but as the days went on, I felt more comfortable. John McCook who plays Eric, Jacqueline (MacInnes Wood) who plays Steffy and Thorsten (Kaye) are all so sweet.”

Speaking on what viewers should expect from Electra, Laneya added,“She knows what she wants and she wants to take it and I love her. She’s maybe got a little bit of a path that we might find out about later. But she’s definitely very, very excited to be in Los Angeles with her Aunt Ivy and doing what she loves.”

In addition, Laneya spoke highly of future co-star, Crew Morrow, “He was my first actor friend on the show,” she revealed. The two met when she came to Los Angeles from Houston (where she was going to college) for her callback. So when she came to set her first day on the job, Grace expressed, “It was nice to come in my first day and have a familiar face.”
So, looking forward to Laneya’s B&B debut? Are you betting she will be love interest for Will Spencer, R.J. Forrester, or both? Comment below.
I don’t understand how longtime fans can continue to follow this soap? Bradley Bell killed the show by being obsessed with Steffy and Hope. A new character out of nowhere when Rick, Felicia and others are so missing! Zende has a secondary role, Felicia has a son never seen on screen and who no one talks about. What about Sheila and Deacon? Since her return, Sheila has been obsessed with Finn despite having other children. Where have Diana and Mary gone? Ditto for Deacon’s son. The latter forgot the existence of his son. Eric almost died and his own children were not by his side. Even if it’s a soap, it’s totally absurd and the viewers are taken for idiots. There was so much potential for Stephanie’s death but Bradley Bell ruined it by repeating the same stories for Steffy, this one-two punch of Liam and Hope. I understand that actors like Jacob W Young have drawn a line under the show.
The worst thing is that fans continue to follow the soap!
So true.
That’s your opinion.
This is indeed my opinion and I would like to understand what still pleases the fans. The stories have been repetitive and focused solely on Steffy, Hope… for over 10 years! Some characters have no personality like Carter…
I’m disappointed because I was a big fan in the 80s and 90s. The rivalry between Stephanie and Sally was great to watch as was Deacon’s entrance with Bridget, the Amber/Rick couple, etc. The arrival of the Marones and then the Spencers ruined the soap and Bell’s obsession with Steffy and Hope completely turned me away from the soap. A real waste!
Speaking of Sheila’s children, how about Daisy and Ryder? Supposedly Sheila was the one who got Daisy out of the hospital she was in and we didn’t get any confirmation or resolution to that.
Agree. Writers think such the I’lllogical storylines whatever they think of regardless of reality they go with it’s absolutely ridiculous. The storylines not really a realistic it could even happen in real life like a private citizen can never pardon the criminal like build it. It’s just absolutely insane.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Jonathan Jackson Shares Emotional Tribute to His ‘Nashville’ Leading Lady Hayden Panettiere

The entertainment world has been mourning the loss of Hayden Panettiere, who died on Sunday at the age of 36. Panettiere, who was so familiar to daytime drama fans in the roles of a very young Sarah Roberts on One Life to Live and Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light, also starred as an adult in the primetime music city soap opera, Nashville as country and western singer, Juliette Barnes.
Panettiere’s leading man in the series, was none other than six-time Daytime Emmy-winner, Jonathan Jackson (ex-Lucky Spencer, General Hospital) who played musician Avery Barkley.
The actress’ death is still under investigation in Greenville, South Carolina, now calling in the DEA after the Greenville County Coroner’s Office said there was “no signs of trauma that were discovered that would have contributed to the death.” Hayden’s body was released to her family on Tuesday, August. 18. It is believed Panettiere died of an “overdose.”

WE GREW UP IN THE INDUSTRY
Jonathan Jackson took to his Instagram on Wednesday night, August 19 to share poignant words in remembrance of his Nashville co-star. “I have no words to express the loss of our beloved Hayden,” began Jackson. “She had such a bright light within her. She was a sensitive soul. Incredibly funny and witty. Amazingly gifted, with a great sense of empathy and compassion. We both grew up in the industry, although she started even younger than me, but we shared that. A silent knowing of how intense the struggles can be.”
Panetierre started in show business in 1990 at only 11-months-old, while Jackson was cast on General Hospital in 1993 as Luke (Anthony Geary) and Lauras’s (Genie Francis) son, Lucky when he was 11-years-old. Jonathan drew on the parallels in their lives for his remembrance to his late former co-star.
“She was an absolute joy to work with. Focused, spontaneous and brilliant,” continued Jackson. “The most important thing between friends and coworkers is trust, and we had this. Elisa (formerly, Lisa Vultaggio) and I both love and cherish her deeply, like our own sister. She holds that place in our hearts. My prayer for her every day we worked together was that she would know how loved she is, and that she would find the peace that she was looking for.”
WE LOVE YOU, HAYDEN
Sadly, Jonathan concluded with, “It’s not possible to express the shock and grief that so many of us feel right now. Our humble prayers are with her family. May God’s angels carry you to your place of rest and true peace. We love you Hayden. You will always be in our hearts. Always.”
Nashville ran for four seasons from 2012-2016 on ABC, and then moved to CMT for its final two seasons from 2016-2018. The actors on the show could also sing and like Jackson, Hayden had a powerful singing voice that was showcased in the series as well as her undeniable acting chops.
Michael Fairman TV previously shared more of Panettiere’s Guiding Light and Nashville co-star tributes here.
So, what did you think of Jonathan Jackson’s very touching tribute to Hayden Panettiere? Did you love them as Juliette and Avery on Nashville? What have you thought about the ongoing investigation into Hayden’s death? Share your thoughts via the comment section.
