THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: Passion Ignites for Carter and Quinn

Photos: JPI

CBS Daytime’s The Bold and the Beautiful has been known over the years to surprise viewers with a cliffhanger they may have not seen coming, or a moment within an episode, that was unexpected.  Now, while often on daily episodes of soaps there is repetition in scenes and stories, Friday’s show surprised many!

In story, Quinn (Rena Sofer) went over to see Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) to try to get him to forgive Zoe (Kiara Barnes) and give her another chance, only things don’t go as planned.

Carter tells Quinn when he sees Zoe he wants to make love to her, and that it’s been a long time since he has had sex. Quinn can relate informing Carter expressing that it’s been a really long time since she felt wanted by Eric (John McCook).  She says that it feel like “We’re strangers”, and that when she reaches out to touch Eric he actually recoils.  Quinn adds that she is starving for affection, and that sometimes she just wants to be held.  Carter adds that he does not want to chase anyone, especially if she has feelings for someone else.  He wants someone who truly wants him.

As the seduction between Quinn and Carter begins, she recalls how Eric’s love gave her confidence and made her feel sexy and how she just wants to feel that again.  Next, Carter moves in close to Quinn, which prompts her to whisper, “We can’t”, but oh they do! Cue the music, the making love montage, the candles, the sofa, the camera cuts back and forth, and voila, Carter and Quinn make love.

This is a great twist for B&B, which will clearly give Lawrence Saint-Victor and Rena Sofer a secret to play.

Now the question becomes, will Carter and Quinn be the next hot couple on the show, or will this just be one night of bliss? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

Hey Violet. You know it! Can we say unemployment for both of them and being ousted from the Forrester mansion for Quinn!

After the heat was flying off of these two when Quinn went to Carter’s apartment with him half dressed, it was only a matter of time before this happened!!

Instead, Carter might want to find out if that “Hope” mannequin is still available. 🙂

I don’t quite get what you meant about the manniquin, but I think even the manniquin would be preferable to Quinn. I just have never liked the character, after what she did to Liam, kidnapping him, etc, messing with Deacon and Ridge, siccing her friend on Ridge her step-son, just to hurt Brooke and now having sex with Carter, family friend and loyal employee, that really shows how much she loves Eric. Can’t blame her in one respect, he is a hunk, even in these old lady’s eyes.

Hi Violet: I certainly understand your reasons for disdain of Quinn and her misdeeds. I’m just being facetious with my original comment, but you agree with me! Cheers, Friend!

1. I think that Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter) and Rena Sofer (Quinn) have wonderful on-screen chemistry together. Just saying…
2. That wishy-washy Zoe is way too WHINY AND ANNOYING!!!!!
3. Eric listens to Brooke WAY TOO MUCH…PERIOD!!!!!

I never thought I’d be happy a rumour about Sheila coming back might be true, but then again if she can get rid of Quinn, it might be worth it. Hopefully, she can work her magic and I think it would be like the fox and the hen.

Can someone explain the ridiculous outfits that they are all wearing???
I lived in LA for almost two decades and nobody wore anything like these.
And especially for a show that is based on fashion and design.
It’s ridiculous!

You know, I’ve thought the same thing many times, especially Flo before she joined Forrester. Gosh, what a mess she was.

It makes it very difficult to watch. They have such a platform for chic attire yet they continue to put them in awful outfits – so much so that I can’t even watch the dialogue.

Zoe with the pink dragon dress
Her sister with the gaudy earrings and cheese skirts
Brooke in the white with that lame gold belt

I don’t know how the actors actually allow them to be dressed in the horrific outfits.

Hi Margherita
Again I have to reply. The clothes these gals are wearing on this show are not to be believed. The older women, not too bad but the younger ones like Paris, Zoe and especially Flo are horrible. I hope they are made to wear them, because they wouldn’t pay me enough.

I KNOW Violet!!! They are so DISTRACTING!!! All of the patterns being on the same screen at the same time. It makes me dizzy!!! Maybe if one of the young cast wore something a bit more edgy (I mean crazy) then I could handle it, but when they are all in the same scene, it makes me nauseous (literally and figuratively).

Interesting to see the writers putting Carter and Quinn together. I am wondering how this sort of relationship plays out in the greater US. Carter is closer to the age of Quinn’s son. I know on daytime TV this might be more common, but I would think usually with the older man/younger woman combination, as with Eric and Quinn.

Oh, and then there’s the skin color difference. There’s that too.

General Hospital

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason asks Carly to Marry Him and She Responds “With All My Heart”

The stage is set now for General Hospital’s Jason/Carly/Sonny/Nina story to explode as things heated up between longtime friends and former lovers, Jason (Steve Burton) and Carly (Laura Wright) just as Jax (Ingo Rademacher) is in Nixon Falls pleading with Nina (Cynthia Watros) to come clean and tell “Mike”(Maurice Benard) that he is indeed, Sonny Corinthos.  Here’s what went down on Friday’s episode …

Back in Port Charles, at the demolished former “Jake’s”, Carly and Jason’s old stomping grounds, Carly and Jason share a kiss. Carly says she can’t believe this is happening after letting him know that all of her old romantic feelings for him are starting to come back. Apparently that is true for Jason too, as the ABC daytime drama series finally reaches back into the history of these two characters who were in love, before Carly slept with Sonny.  Back in the present day, Jason asks Carly to marry him, and she responds, “With all my heart.” But now, Carly is starting to feel more excited about what started off as a business arrangement between the two of them to retain the Corinthos family hold over the five families and the territory in Sonny’s absence.  Carly says she wants their wedding day to be about them, and later they can come to Jake’s just by themselves.

In Nixon Falls, Jax (Ingo Rademacher) is trying to get through to Nina, who has admitted her duplicity to him and how she has fallen in love with “Mike”.  When Jax informs her that Carly and Jason are getting married, she thinks that’s great then she and “Mike” can have a future together.  Nina wants Jax to just forget this conversation, and seeing Sonny, and do this for her; after all she went through in losing her child, Nelle, and her relationship with him. Then Jax asks her to think about Donna and Avery and Wiley, his children and grandchild, who don’t know he is alive and will never get to know him. Nina cries that Jax has won, and that she will tell “Mike” the truth in private (but something tells us, she is going to make “Mike” walk-in on Jason and Carly’s nuptials, so that she has a shot of keeping him all to herself by the betrayal he will witness).  Jax says he is not leaving Nixon Falls till she tells Sonny the truth, but she somehow she still got him to leave through her pleading to let her do this alone.  As Nina thinks “Mike” is walking in the front door of the Tan-O, in walks Peter (Wes Ramsey)!

Meanwhile, Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry) is rushed to General Hospital unconscious with Portia (Brook Kerr) not far behind, after being trapped together.  More bad news is revealed when Austin (Roger Howarth) gets the blood results back for Jordan and tells Curtis (Donnell Turner) that Jordan’s levels of carbon monoxide are 58% which is not good for someone with one kidney.  Austin relates that if Jordan’s kidney function doesn’t improve, they’ll have put her on dialysis.  TJ (Tajh Bellow) comes to see his mom, and sits by her bedside in tears.  Later, Curtis breaks down in tears holding Jordan’s hand to come back to him, and she opens her eyes, as Portia walks in on the scene.

Three of the five families plan to take over Port Charles and split the territory after their secret meeting, where they plan to blow up a warehouse while Carly and Jason are distracted and at their wedding; the families also received a message from Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) while in prison.  Who will stop the “hit”?

So, what do you think of Carly and Sonny getting close? What did you think of the performances of Laura Wright, Steve Burton, Cynthia Watros, and Donnell Turner within this episode? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

Days Of Our Lives

What Did You Think of the Premiere of ‘Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem’?

Today was the debut of the well-publicized and highly-anticipated DAYS streamer limited-series: Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem which dropped on Peacock at 3:01am EST Monday morning.

If you have not seen the first episode, and intend on watching it,  do not read any further as it contains moments and story points – however, if you have seen the premiere read on!

At the beginning is an updated version of the traditional iconic series opening of DAYS, hourglass and all, but wait for it! It’s not the late MacDonald Carey’s voice who is welcoming us in to watch the drama unfold, but none other than Deidre Hall (Marlena) who gets the nod.  Deidre voices-over: “Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Lives” cue the new logo for the limited series.  We also get an opening title sequence after the prologue of the episode complete with location shots and the cast members names!

In this throwback to the 90’s high adventure and escapades in soaps, we learn that in 1991 the Alamainian Peacock was stolen by Hope acting as Princess Gina. Shane Donovan has come to John and Marlena in Zurich needing their help, because the peacock featured six different and precious gemstones: a citrine, an amethyst, a ruby, emerald, sapphire, and an orange diamond.  Although the peacock was recovered, the stones were not and we are off to the races in this case of the missing jewels caper.  Shane wants John and Marlena to be an American couple who want the gemstones at an auction, but he tells them there is danger involved.  Jarlena are most them up for the task!

Meanwhile, Tony and Anna visit Carrie and Austin and can sense the trouble in their marriage.  Carrie is upset.  Apparently, Austin had too much to drink and brought up Rafe to Carrie.  Wanting to make amends, Austin wants to get his wife a sapphire necklace, which Anna goes a ga-ga for in the photo Austin shares. But not wanting Carrie to know what he is up to he asks Tony and Anna to go the auction to bid on it.

Lisa Rinna makes her return as Billie Reed, but dressed undercover as kind of a Princess Gina lookalike, long hair, tiara, and all. She gets busted by Ben and Ciara and tells them she is undercover watching the amethyst in the jewelry shop that Ciara was loving on to Ben. But as they talk about Ben being a serial killer and all, someone went in and bought the jewel spoiling Billie’s plan.

In Miami, turns out Paulina has the orange diamond, and in one of the funniest bits, goes and on how Michelle (Obama) in the White House gifted her the ring as Abe, Eli and Lani look on perplexed.  Later, when everyone tells her not to go out on the town with that ring on, she insists, but bad news.  While the foursome are dining, two henchmen with guns come a-calling!

Elsewhere in Phoenix, Chad comes to visit Will and nuSonny, now played by Zach Tinker (who delivered in his emotional scenes in his debut). Turns out WilSon seem to be having marital problems. .. again!  Sonny thinks Will is cheating on him.  Will says he is working on a top-secret assignment and has to go to the office.  Later, when Chad calls to see if Will is where he says he is at, he is not there.  Sonny springs into action and goes to Will’s computer and finds an email that he is meeting someone at a resort and spa.  Best buds, Chad and Sonny, hightail it to the resort and land outside Will’s suite.  When Sonny knocks on the door he is surprised to see Leo Stark … in a robe!  Something tells us each episode will end with a guest star popping up, but we shall see and the let the games begin!

So, what did you think of the premiere episode of Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem? What was your favorite part? What did you think of Zach Tinker in his debut as Sonny? Share your thoughts in the comment section. But, first vote in our ‘Beyond Salem” premiere poll and cast your vote below.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: Steffy’s Not Having Any of Sheila

Friday’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful saw Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) step up to the plate and not buy whatever Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) was selling, and is horrified what her new hubby, Finn (Tanner Novlan) and his father, Jack (Ted King) pulled behind her back.

Therefore, Steffy put them all on blast and with that came another powerful performance by two-time Daytime Emmy winner, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood.

In story, Steffy decided not to take her business trip.  So, she comes home to find Sheila holding baby Hayes and begins to freak out, and wouldn’t you?  After all, this is evil Sheila we are talking about who has kidnapped babies before!

Jack tries to explain their way out of it, that Sheila promised to see Finn and her grandson Hayes and hold him, and then she would leave town. Throughout all of the scenes, Finn looked like he realized his marriage could have just hit the rocks before it even got started.

Steffy cannot believe that no one is not seeing through Sheila’s epic manipulations.  She wisely points out that, why did Sheila come out of nowhere when he wed a Forrester to finally reveal herself to him as his bio-mom?  Sheila tries to make Steffy understand mother-to-mother why she wanted to see her son and hold her grandson, and Steffy is becoming more unglued, rightly pointing out what Sheila did to her mother and grandmother … she shot them both! Sheila says Steffy has a narrow perspective of how her grandmother treated her.

Next, Steffy just can’t listen to this anymore, or have Sheila in their home and near their child one more second.  Steffy then lays into Sheila, and says she hopes her son doesn’t have Sheila’s “sickness” and tells her she’s getting a restraining order against her and she will never see Finn and Hayes ,or come near her family.

Sheila thinks it’s very cruel of Steffy to threaten her with time in the slammer for wanting to see her son.  Steffy orders Sheila to leave and Jack as well, since he is the one that set this in motion.  Steffy tells Sheila she’s a monster with no feelings!  Since Sheila won’t start to exit, Steffy walks over to her and bitch-slaps her yelling: “Don’t you ever try to take someone I love away from me. Get out!!”

Jack drags Sheila out and Steffy glares and Finn! Ruh-roh!

So, what did you think of the performances of Jacqueline MacInnes Wood and Kimberlin Brown in the major confrontation scenes? What will Sheila do next? What will happen to Finn and Steffy? Share your thoughts in the comment section. But first, check out the final moments of Friday’s Steffy vs. Sheila below!
