The Bold and the Beautiful Pauses Production To Better Accommodate Large Volume of COVID-19 Testing

Today was to be first day back in production for the CBS Daytime drama, The Bold and the Beautiful, making it not only the first soap back after the series was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the first U.S. network series back.

However, late news via Variety this evening, notes that the soap has to be put on “pause” while they better accommodate the large volume of testing needed, said a spokesperson for Bell-Phillip Television Inc, the entity that produces the show.

The complete statement read: “We have paused very briefly to modify our testing protocol to better accommodate the large volume of testing needed. Safety remains our top priority as we continue to move forward with the production of the Bold and the Beautiful. B&B filmed with cast and crew today and it was a successful first day back at work.”

The series is now set to resume production next week on Tuesday, June 23rd.

Given the show’s production schedule and it being a half-hour series with now shooting only four out of five days a week, fans can look forward to new episodes come early July, if all goes well.

So, what do you think of the pause for safety addressed by B&B today after their first day back?  Share your thoughts below.
