THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: Hope and Liam’s Wedding Begins

By Michael Fairman

It was time for the nuptials of Hope (Annika Noelle) and Liam (Scott Clifton), with the couple vowing to make their fourth bid at a long-lasting marriage come true.  As the guests arrived, the bride got dressed with visits from the Logan sisters, Liam was downstairs as the jittery groom, but a man who knows how lucky he is after all he endured (believing for months he was dying of an inoperable brain tumor), that he was able to find love again with Hope.

We have always said, that three-time Daytime Emmy winner, Scott Clifton is one of the finest actors in the genre, and he proved that once again on the Wednesday, December 10 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful. All the love, excitement, expectation, and wanting to reunite his family was paramount in Liam’s mind, and in simply-played moment, it often caught us choking back tears because of Clifton’s portrayal.

In story, Bill (Don Diamont) tells Liam, he is proud of his son, Wyatt sends a heartfelt text saying he is sorry he can’t make his brother’s wedding, Deacon (Sean Kanan) comes by and Liam tells Hope’s father that in no uncertain terms will he be doing anything, but loving and cherishing Hope all the days of their lives.

The wedding will be officiated by Hope and Liam’s daughter, Beth (Jordyn Ariza), while Liam’s daughter Kelly (Sophia Paras) was present and none other than Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri), who flew all the way from Paris to be there for Hope. Upstairs, Donna (Jennifer Gareis), Katie (Heather Tom) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) enjoy some champagne with Hope, take some selfies together and help the bride with last minute preparations.

However, the one spoiler of the whole thing could be Sheila (Kimberlin Brown)! She is currently in Taylor’s (Rebecca Budig) office telling her how pissed off she is that she was not invited to the wedding. Taylor tells her to not think of crashing it. Will she be the wedding crasher of the year? Stay tuned.

Back at the wedding, Bill tells Liam how much he admires him and the devotion that he has for his family. They hug it out. Suddenly, Electra (Laneya Grace) announces that the bride is almost ready. Everyone begins to take their seats as Liam and Beth are waiting for the bride.

Deacon lets out a gasp as Hope appears in her wedding dress, warning her father, “Don’t make me cry.” Douglas cues up the Wedding March. Liam fights back tears as Deacon walks Hope down the aisle of the Spencer living room. Beth asks her mom, “Are you ready to get married?” Hope replies, “Yes, I am.” In the moment, Liam and Hope are awash in love and we fade to black.

You can check out some of the moments of Hope preparing for her walk down the aisle with the Logan sisters below.

Now let us know, what did you think of Scott Clifton’s performance? Are you excited to see Hope and Liam tie the knot and be happy for the first time in a longtime? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

I’m not really interested in this and the fact that Beth is officiating adds to the ridiculous. Let Sheila attend!!!

I think Beth is going over the top with this. Very silly to have her “officiate” And I can’t remember a scene where she was ever even with Sheila-so how could Sheila make her “so uncomfortable” that she didn’t want her at the wedding???

Hope and Liam are as exciting as watching grass grow !!! They can add Deke to the boring list as well. Send Liam and Hope to Paris , permanently and bring back Sally Spectra for Thomas. She is being wasted on Y & R

Bring back Rick Forester for Taylor. It would drive both Ridge and Brooke crazy !

WWE SATURDAY NIGHT’S MAIN EVENT: Cody Rhodes and CM Punk Victorious with Help from Nick Aldis, Roman Reigns and Jalen Brunson Rule the Big Apple

WWE returned to its home, the Big Apple, New York City for the July 18 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event streaming on Peacock headlined by a blockbuster tag team match featuring CM Punk and Cody Rhodes against Gunther and Sami Zayn.

The bout had an added stipulation: if Punk and Rhodes can co-exist and win the match, they will continue as planned to face each other at SummerSlam, where Rhodes has the chance to win the WWE Undisputed Championship from Punk. However, if they lose, Gunther and Zayn would make it a fatal four-way.

Being held at Madison Square Garden, the night was to be heralded return of Danhausen to New York City since he uncursed the New York Knicks and became a cultural phenom during the NBA team’s title run; where they captured the championship for the first time in 53 years.

Also, the show was going to close with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns alongside Knicks playoffs MVP Jalen Brunson for a special acknowledgment ceremony. Let’s take a look at what happened when the smoke cleared at one of the better SNME’s delivered by the WWE over the past year.

Undisputed WWE champion CM Punk and Cody Rhodes vs. Sami Zayn and Gunther

This star-studded match-up literally had a fantastic fast and frenetic pace which was great to see from all four men. Throughout the match, chants of “this is awesome” came from the audience in attendance, especially when after much high flying (especially from Cody Rhodes), the four laid spent flat out on the mat for what was a breather before the match’s final moments, leaving the drama to anyone’s guess at the finish and who would be the title picture at SummerSlam.

After referee Charles Robinson took a bump and was taken out, Gunther grabbed Punk’s title belt and clocked Rhodes in the head with it. As he was pinning Rhodes, he called for a new referee. As one came out from the back to deliver the three count, suddenly, he was pulled out by Nick Aldis (SmackDown GM, who has been feuding with Gunther) and yanked by his leg to the floor. Next, Aldis hit Gunther with the title belt, allowing Punk to deliver a Go to Sleep while Rhodes pinned the Ring General to secure the pin..

However, things got intense between Punk and Rhodes while after celebrating their victory in the ring, upon Punk making his entrance, he “accidentally” hit Cody in the face with his belt. Later, Rhodes came at Punk in a backstage segment that went viral. Leading the WWE Universe to ponder; Is Punk turning heel? Is Cody? Stay tuned as now the heat starts to build for their championship match-up in two weeks at SummerSlam in Minneapolis.

No Disqualification Match: Danhausen vs. JD McDonagh

Minihausens and New York Knicks center/forward  Karl-Anthony Towns gave an assist to the very nice, very evil Danhausen so he could defeat Judgement Day’s JD McDonagh with interference from Dominik Mysterio.

During most of the match, McDonagh was manhandling Danhausen, but when the NYC favorite was able to get up the ring ramp to his “Cloning Machine” and putting his cat in it … out came Towns! When the Knicks favorite made his way to the ring, it got a huge pop from the crowd, which led to Town chokeslamming Mysterio through a table, while Danhausen delivered his Triple D (Danhausen Death Drop) to JD for the win.

Bayley vs, Lyra Valkryia

Lyra Valkyria has gone off the rails and this match against Bayley, her former idol, tag-team partner and friend, illustrated fully her new heel character who has seemingly lost her marbles.

Early in the match though, Bayley’s elbow struck Lyra in the nose and she may have broken it and was bleeding during the entire match due to the mishap.

This unhinged version of Valkyria defeated Bayley, and then continued to give her a beat down after the match throwing Bayley into the ring post and then the steel steps before security and officials finally got her to back off.

Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: Paige and Brie Bella vs. Fatal Influence

This was the least interesting match of the night, but due to interference from Jacy Jayne, Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid are the new Women’s Tag Champs.

As to what happens now with Paige and Bella remains to be seen. Do they split and have a feud since Paige’s comeback was initially as a fill-in for Brie’s sister, Nikki Bella, in a tag team championship match, who was out with an injury? More soon.

Jalen Brunson and Roman Reigns Face off with Seth Rollins and Tyrese Haliburton

In the closing segment of the show, the OTC Roman Reigns and NBA MVP Jalen Brunson took to the ring at Madison Square Garden together with ones to the sky for the Tribal Chief.  Once Reigns took the mic, it was all about celebrating and acknowledging Brunson for giving the Knicks their first championship in over five decades.

The moment was topped off by Reigns giving a gift from the WWE to Brunson – his own custom world heavyweight title made of blue leather and custom nameplates with the Knicks colors blue and orange around it.

However, the celebration was interrupted when Seth Rollins music hit and out came Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton who is hated in the Big Apple by Knicks fans. The entrance of Haliburton served as a distraction as Rollins entered the ring and attacked Reigns from behind. However, before Seth could deliver his patented stomp and this time on to a steel chair, Brunson stepped in front of him, protecting the OTC.

That move allowed Reigns to recover and flatten Rollins with his Superman Punch, which led the Visionary hightailing it up the ramp with Haliburton. At the end, Reigns stood tall in the ring with Brunson in tow and got the photo op of the season holding the NBA’s Larry O’Brien Trophy high over his head as the two champs from different worlds had the fans cheering as the show came to its conclusion.

Take a look at some of the video highlights from last night’s SNME below.

Now weigh-in; what did you think of the latest edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event? Do you think Punk hit Cody purposely in the face with his belt on his way out of the ring? Will one of them turn heel? Did you like the interference of Nick Aldis, which now has to have set up Aldis vs. Gunther at SummerSlam? What about Reigns and Brunson? A cool moment? GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jack Plants a Kiss on Nina; Are You Down With Them as a Couple?

Published

Jack and Nina

The Friday, July 17 episode of General Hospital brought with it a cliffhanger that many viewers were forecasting was on its way to happening. Yup, Brennan (Chris McKenna) and Nina (Cynthia Watros) have a thing for each other and their relationship took a turn when Jack kissed Nina while at the Brown Dog bar while they were having drinks and she certainly did not pull away.

How did we get here? After being unable to find his black box at Wyndemere, Jack raised concerns that his WSB higher-ups would consider transferring him out of Port Charles because Cullum’ machinations happened in the town where he was the bureau chief.

Then, Jack asks Nina what motivates her to go to such extremes to help her daughter Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) with her nefarious crimes. Nina begins to explain to Jack that her children were taken from her and she was unable to protect Nelle or Willow and that Willow has suffered unspeakable trauma in her life that she had never totally dealt with. As a mother, she will do anything to protect her daughter and to stay in her life.

JACK MAKES HIS MOVE

After downing more drinks, Jack apologized for having blackmailed Nina to get intel from Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) in exchange for the traffic cam footage of Willow. He wished instead of that maneuver he would have asked the editor in chief of Crimson out on a date. He feel like then he would have gotten to know Nina before she had to save his life.

When Nina shared that is sounds like Jack is holding it against her, his comeback response is that he doesn’t do gratitude well. So in an effort to show Nina how gratefully he truly is to her, Jack gets up from his barstool and plants a major kiss on her! We fade to black.

You can check out the scenes between Jack and Nina from today’s GH below in the video entitled, “Before You Saved My Life” below.

Now weigh-in: are you all for Jack and Nina as a couple? Do you find it interesting that for the most part, Nina ends up with men that used to be involved with her nemesis Carly (Laura Wright)? Share your thoughts on this new romantic pairing via the comment section.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Tells Danny: ‘The Place They Were Holding Me Was Bad, Really Bad’

Published

By

What happened to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) when he was captivity by the WSB? That is the question on many minds of General Hospital viewers, especially following the airing of the Tuesday, July 14 episode of the ABC daytime drama series, which also received a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series for the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards yesterday.

In story and in the pick-up of Monday’s episode, Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) comes face to face with his father at the Quartermaine boathouse. Jason assures his son that he is home for good. However, Jason is confused why the WSB suddenly released him from Jakarta in the last 48 hours.

Danny goes in on his father for taking the fall for Cullum’s shooting when it was Rocco who shot the now deceased WSB director. Jason tried to explain he had to make a last minute decision and didn’t want Rocco’s life to be ruined by shooting another man.

JASON WANTS TO TAKE A SHORT TRIP WITH DANNY

Jason promised Danny that from now on, he is his top priority, and that time away has given him a new perspective. When Danny tries to get more intel from his dad on what he went through, all Jason would say is, “The place they were holding me was bad, really bad.”

Danny admits that the person he told that Rocco shot Cullum was Port Charles bureau chief, Jack Brennan, but he told him that WSB would want Danny to drop the whole thing, and just leave it be now that Cullum is dead.

TRACY SEES JASON

Suddenly, Tracy (Jane Elliot) shows up and is happy to see that Jason has resurfaced saying she knew he would be back. As she welcomed him home, Jason has a favor to ask her.

Next, he proposes much to Danny’s happiness, that he and his son are going to away together for a few days to catch up on things. So, that there is no issue, Jason asks if Tracy can please tell Alexis that he has returned to Port Charles and anyone else that would need to know, so they are not concerned for Danny’s welfare and that they know he is with his dad. Tracy agrees, and she and Jason share a hug.

Now the question is, what happened to Jason? We know his face is beaten up. We saw in flashbacks he was held in a cell and we can see he had been experiencing what seems like PTSD from being in captivity.

Previously, GH co-head writer, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten previewed to Soap Opera Digest on Jason’s return, “His imprisonment has had a profound effect on his outlook and how he intends to conduct the rest of his life. His decision will have big implications for Danny, Britt, the Quartermaines, Anna and especially Sonny.”

So, what do you think happened to Jason while being held by the WSB? Did something horrific occur? Will Jason tell Sonny he can no longer work for him so he no longer puts himself or his family in any kind of danger? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
