A harrowing incident involving a Massachusetts woman who is now facing an attempted murder charge after investigators claim she tried to kill her husband with poisoned soap at the request of someone claiming to be soap opera star, Thorsten Kaye (Ridge, The Bold and the Beautiful).

The catfishing incident happened back on December 3rd according to ABC affiliate WCVB.

According to the report, “Nicole Heath told police that while she and her 64-year-old mother, Roxanne Doucette, were in the hospital room of her 73-year-old father, Paul Doucette, at Nashoba Valley Medical Center, she saw messages on her mother’s phone that she felt indicated she may have poisoned her father. Heath said her mother has been messaging someone she believed was the The Bold and the Beautiful’s, Thorsten Kaye, and that person had scammed her into giving them money. Heath said as she was making screenshots of the financial scam messages to give to police, she saw a series of more disturbing messages.

Even more troubling was in the police documents there was a message from “Thorsten” from December 1st that stated, “You have to get rid of your husband honey. I need you so much.”  The police documents say Roxanne Doucette responded, “Making an amazing soup. Special potion. He will be hungry when he gets back. Just enough for him.”  She then texts, “Hubby got back not feeling well. Maybe I can collect life insurance,” according to police documents. The catfish “Thorsten” responds, “Honey, when will that be?”

In the end, Roxanne Doucette said she had not tried to hurt her husband, but admitted to talking via text message to a person claiming to be the soap star. She also stated she had recently been scammed out of $8,000.

Since the story came to light, the Bold Insider X account, posted, “Dear The Bold and the Beautiful fans. A gentle reminder that our cast/crew/staff will NEVER solicit you personally for money or anything else. If you are being contacted by someone portraying themselves as a cast member please report them immediately to X and/or to local authorities. We appreciate our fans very much and thank you for watching!”

Nuts

I read about this previously. Unfortunately, people believe this stuff. That’s why scammers keep doing it. Dr. Phil had a lot of guests who were catfished. There’s a whole show about it.

Why shouldn’t the scammers keep doing it, especially when someone they have contacted goes along with it, which tells them they have some dummy out of touch with real life and how it works. No wonder there are so many Soap watchers that can’t tell the difference between the character and the actor.

I’m sorry but I have no sympathy for someone that is so obviously stupid.Someone like that is not living in reality and should see a shrink. The idea alone that some TV Soap star would contact her is unbelievable.

When I was a little rabbit… my mother would say “if you don’t have anything nice to say.. don’t say anything at all”

General Hospital

Lane Davies Joins the Cast of General Hospital Setting up a ‘Santa Barbara’ Reunion with Nancy Lee Grahn

Some very intriguing casting news out of General Hospital. The ABC daytime drama has cast former Santa Barbara favorite, Lane Davies (ex-Mason Capwell), in the role of Fergus Byrne, an attorney who crosses paths with Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn).

According to TV Insider, Davies will make debut the week of May 22nd.  As soap fans know, together with the aforementioned Grahn, they created the Santa Barbara supercouple of Mason and Julia Wainwright. Davies portrayed Mason Capwell family from 1984 through 1989.

Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time in Port Charles for Lane. From 2002-2004 he played Dr. Cameron Lewis and also shared on-screen story with Grahn.  At that time Davies, played Xander Smith’s father.

GH fans are wondering about the last name of Davies new character, “Bryne”. If you recall, Alexis got herself involved with therapist Dr. Neil Bryne, who died when Harmony broke into Alexis‘ house and killed Neil by injecting him with opioids.

Taking to her Instagram, Grahn shared her excitement at the upcoming on-screen reunion with Davies, “It never gets old. We do 😂…. but it doesn’t 😍. Lookin’ forward to another romp.”

So, what do you think about Lane Davies returning to GH to play an attorney in Alexis’ orbit? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

He shared on his experience on the soap, “I do remember my first day because I was doing Spring Awakening on Broadway at the time, and One Life to Live was my first time ever being on TV.  So I got this offer, and I was like, ‘Yes, I would love to be in a soap opera,’ and we finished Spring Awakening at 11:00 p.m. and I woke up the next morning at 4:0 a.m. to walk uptown to go to do One Life to Live, and I called my agent and left a message, and I said ‘You have to get me out of this, I can’t wake up at 4 o’clock in the morning!'” You can watch the clip below.

The 77th annual Tony Awards will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Sunday, June 16, with Tony and Oscar winner Ariana DeBose returning to host for the third time.
