‘The Bold and the Beautiful’s’ Scott Clifton Takes Us Inside His Daytime Emmy-Winning Night (Exclusive)

Last Friday night, Scott Clifton (Liam, The Bold and the Beautiful) took home the gold for the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Drama series at the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards. The win makes Clifton a four-time Daytime Emmy winner, and his second in the Lead Actor category.
Clifton’s heralded performance in Liam’s inoperable brain tumor storyline back in 2025; where he tried to protect his loved ones from learning the news while dealing with the seeming reality of his own fate and his life being cut short, touched the Emmy voters,
The story and Scott’s performance was the ticket to victory in a year that included fellow nominees: Eric Braeden (Victor, Y&R), Christian LeBlanc (Michael, Y&R), Steve Burton (Jason, GH) and castmate Thorsten Kaye (Ridge, B&B).

AFTER A BIT OF NERVES, SCOTT’S EMMY NIGHT TOOK A TURN FOR THE BETTER
Now, in a postscript to the emotional rollercoaster on Emmy night, Scott chatted with Michael Fairman for an exclusive conversation on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.
After at first, feeling a bit of apprehension getting ready for the Daytime Emmy red carpet with his lady love, Elle Anderson, once he got to the rough and tumble hub-bub of the red carpet, Scott said he felt a bit more calm. From there, he headed inside to his table where Clifton expressed he was seated with other B&B nominees: Brad Bell (EP and head writer), Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter) and Heather Tom (Katie) and her husband James and their son, Zane. and then his TV dad, Don Diamont (Bill) and his wife Cindy Ambuehl. However, things got interesting!
Since Lead Actor was the second to last award presented of the night, when Scott’s name was called, he shared, “It was a blur. I had to ask people, ‘What the hell did I say up there afterwards?’ But, I do remember the moment of my name being called. I really don’t like it when people tell me what their bet is. I’ll never stop somebody, but it does make me uncomfortable when people go, ‘You’re gonna win.'”

WHEN YOUR NAME IS CALLED YOU BETTER KISS YOUR TV DAD
Scott continued, “So, I think probably they were starting to read the names of the nominees, and Don Diamont is sitting right next to me, and he leans over and he goes, ‘I know that you’re about to win.’ And I went, ‘Don! What?’ He was screwing with me, I thought, but then he goes, ‘And if you do win, you have to give me a big wet kiss right on the lips on camera.’ The second he was finished with that sentence, I hear from the stage, ‘Scott Clifton!'”
“I didn’t even get a chance to process this,” recalls Clifton. “So, I grabbed Don’s face and I gave him a big kiss on the mouth, and I don’t know if that made it on to the You Tube broadcast or not. My first order of business was, ‘Oh, my God, I won. I have to kiss Don on the mouth.'”
As for his acceptance speech, Clifton revealed, “I didn’t write anything. I didn’t think of anything beforehand. I really did just kind of wing it and I didn’t know what I had said. But, I remembered feeling like this was the first time I’ve ever felt like I had earned the right to think about what I wanted to say next. I’m so conscious of wasting people’s time. I usually rush through things and stammer, I’m sure there was some of that, but I felt peaceful. I just felt washed over in gratitude.”
FOUR OF THE LAST SIX LEAD ACTOR EMMY WINS ARE MEN FROM THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
In the last six years, the leading men of The Bold and the Beautiful have taken home the Lead Actor Emmy four times! John McCook (Eric) and twice for Thorsten Kaye, and now Scott Clifton. The newly-awarded Lead Actor expressed that team B&B has quite strong actors in the cast, no matter what anyone may have thought!
“It feels to be like The Bold and Beautiful was known for a longtime for its sexy leading men and steamy storylines and it’s high concept fashion house stories,” reflected Scott. “Then it was like General Hospital, they’re the ones with the really good actors. You’ve got your Maurice Benard’s (Sonny Corinthos) for example. However, The Bold and Beautiful has really kind of proven itself that we can do the acting thing too. We do it very well, and I think we have one of the better casts on daytime and yes, I know I’m biased.”

BRINGING HOME THE GOLD FOR THE TEAM
Clifton also shared that as the Daytime Emmy ceremony unfolded up until his victory, The Bold and the Beautiful had been shut out. “I think we needed a win as a group, either Heather or I to bring something home,” admits Scott.
“As our night went on, nobody had been given us any awards, and I don’t know how Brad Bell was in such good spirits. If I were in Brad’s shoes, I would have been really bummed to have a night without any Emmys for the show to take home. I think it was important to all of us, and did not matter which one of us got it, but that we got one,” concluded Clifton.
You can catch the full conversation with Scott below, which includes a heartwarming and emotional story of what happened when Scott showed his young son. Ford. that he won the Daytime Emmy and Ford’s reaction to it!

General Hospital
GH’s Finola Hughes and Laura Wright Tease Anna/Valentin/Carly, “It’s Not Your Typical Triangle, We’ll Say That”

On General Hospital, Carly (Laura Wright) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) are now dealing with the fallout of their discovery, the dead body of Jack Brennan. While Carly became a suspect, now the two need to figure out just who was responsible for the former WSB Port Charles Bureau chief’s sudden ending.
Meanwhile, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is trying to put her shattered life back together, after almost killing Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), hallucinating she was seeing a dead Peter August (Wes Ramsey) and trying to shake off years of trauma at the hands of Cesar Faison (Anders Hove).
While it has become apparent that Valentin and Carly love each other, the same holds true for Valentin and Anna, but is it differently, now that the former lovers are apart? However, it appears when Anna is in trouble, Valentin shows up to save her. That is not lost on Carly, who up until now has tried to be adult about the whole situation, but how long will that last?

Michael Fairman TV caught up with both Daytime Emmy-winning Lead Actresses on the red carpet at the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards and asked them to weigh-in on what viewers can expect, and what’s it has been like working with leading man, James Patrick Stuart.
Laura Wright explained, “James is hilarious. I would say most of our dress rehearsals are laughing it out because we’ve got to show up for taping, but he’s very funny.” Finola Hughes echoed that with, “He’s a very funny person, always,” adding, “I couldn’t be in a scene with him and Amanda Setton (Brook Lynn, GH). It was him, me, and Amanda one time. We couldn’t get through the scene!”

The discussion turned to if GH viewers will see Anna and Carly fighting over the love of Valentin. Laura Wright shared, “Not in the way you would think. It’s not your typical triangle. We’ll say that.” Finola Hughes concurred, “It’s not your typical triangle!”
Watch our chat from the red carpet with Finola and Laura below, and make sure to check out all the moments from Michael Fairman TV at the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards here.
So, do you think Valentin will be caught in an actual love triangle between Anna and Carly, or will he be fully in his relationship with Carly, only to find himself constantly coming to the rescue of Anna Devane, causing an ultimate riff in his relationship with Carly? General Hospital
‘General Hospital’s’ Rory Gibson and Katelyn MacMullen Believe Michael and Willow Still Love Each Other, But What About Chase?

On General Hospital, the marriage of Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) took a massive nosedive after she had an affair with his uncle Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).
But nobody was prepared for what came next, which saw nasty custody fights between the now exes over their children, Amelia and Wiley, and then Willow shooting Drew and injecting him with a paralytic drug and that’s all just for starters.
Fast-forward and one has to ask, deep down do these two still really love each other? We saw signs of it. Remember when Michael came to Willow’s rescue after Jacinda (Paige Herschell) drugged her? But, where are they at now?
We went right to the source, Rory Gibson and Katelyn MacMullen, to ask them theie thoughts on the messy feelings of Michael and Willow during Michael Fairman TV’s chat with the duo on the red carpet at the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD
Rory Gibson weighed-in on the state of Michael and Willow sharing, “I think at the end of the day. that’s the only reason that the fights end up as kind of big and nasty as they are, because they do have such a deep love for each other. They just can’t seem to see eye to eye on certain things.”
In response, Katelyn MacMullen joked, “I mean, Michael and Willow can’t pick the same movie. There’s nothing we agree on. Lunch.” Rory chimed in, “Different dinners!”
Do they hope that Willow’s crimes will be exposed before the clock turns into 2027? Rory Gibson said, “I really hope so!” However, Katelyn responded with, “I hope not! I just want Willow to keep getting away with everything. Michael did it. He does all these terrible things. That’s all I’ll say.”

Photo: ABC
LOOKING FOR A NEW LOVE OR OLD FLAME?
Meanwhile, it looks like GH is setting up Willow and Chase (Josh Swickard) to hook up and Michael and Jordan (Tanisha Harper) too. When pressed, Katelyn expressed about her Port Charles alter-egos feelings for her other ex!
“Chase and Willow obviously have a lot of history, so I mean, he’s always sort of been there for her, and seen this pure version of her. I think when they’re together again, like anytime they’re together, she feels like herself again. And that’s the danger, because she doesn’t want to lose that and of course, Chase is really loyal,” explains MacMullen.
Elsewhere, Michael accompanied Jordan to the same burn clinic that helped him with his scars after the penthouse fire, overseas. The soap opera has been teasing the growing closeness between the two.
On the Wednesday, November 4 episode of GH, after Jordan developed a kidney infection from her burn treatments, instead of going back to Port Charles to be with his children, he decided to stay and make sure Jordan was on the end, but encouraged her for now to stop the treatments if it was making her sick.

Photo: ABC
“Tanisha’s been great,” shared Gibson. “It’s been really lovely working with her. They’re testing the waters there and we’ll see what happens.”
You can check out our full conversation with Rory and Katelyn on the Michael Fairman Channel below.
Now let us know, do yo think Michael and Willow will eventually end up back with each other? When do you think Willow’s crimes will be publicly exposed? Do you want to see Michael/Jordan and Willow/Chase pairings? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

Roger Howarth Reflects on Daytime Emmy Win, 32-Year Record Gap, and Embracing Matt Clark on ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Exclusive)

As last week came to a close, Roger Howarth (Matt Clark, The Young and the Restless) found himself in the winner’s circle for the first in 32 years after winning the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Daytime Drama Series at the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards which streamed live on the NATAS You Tube channel.
Howarth, who debuted on Y&R back in 2025 as a recast Matt Clark, and caused havoc for the likes of Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Sharon Collins (Sharon Case), Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) Noah Newman (Lucas Adams), set the record for the longest drought between acting wins for male actor at the Daytime Emmys.
Ironically, on the female side, Beth Maitland won Supporting Actress for her role as Traci Abbott on Y&R, which was her second, some 41-years after her first victory setting the actress record of longest breaks between wins.

Soap fans have loved Howarth for decades and he is still most widely known for his performances as Todd Manning on One Life to Live. It was on One Life, he took home his first gold statuette in the now defunct Younger Actor category back in 1994.
Michael Fairman TV caught-up with Roger now that the dust settled to talk about his Emmy-winning evening, setting the record, how he feels about portraying Matt Clark now, and those who made an impact on him along the way; chief among them, the one and only Erika Slezak (ex-Viki, One Life to Live).
Howarth shared he was aware of the 32-year gap between his last Emmy win going into the night, expressing, “Yes (laughs) I had an idea about. The passage of time for me was not about the Emmy. It was about the fact that the last time I won one, my son wanted an autograph from Big Bird. And if Big Bird were still there, I would get it for his child. So, that’s the passage of time for me. I measure my life in children.”

HEY MA! I MADE IT!
Roger said the moment his name was called he does remember, and it was not a blur as some winners will say when the envelope is ripped open, “I remember it because it was very sweet,” he added. “I saw the look on my wife Cari’s (Stahler) face and Cari let me know and it was sweet.”
Later, after exiting the stage at the Emmys, Roger received a very special call: “At some point, I looked at my phone and kind of saw what was happening. I did see that my mom called me at 6:45, which is just adorable. It made me really happy.”
Comparing 1994 to 2026 Emmy wins, Roger said, “In terms of the similarity between the two experiences, in both times I felt genuinely happy to be part of a cast. It felt really nice to be able to publicly say how much I enjoyed my work and the people that I work with. In terms of like nerves, I have not developed as a human being at all. I was equally unprepared for the excitement. It was nice that I can still be thrilled and excited, and confused and all those things that come with it.”

THE SCENES THAT WON SUPPORTING ACTOR GOLD
Speaking on the scenes that won him Emmy gold, Howarth shared, “It was a really nice day. Owen Renfroe directed the scenes in a very small space with four actors: Matt Cohen (Detective Burrow), Lucas Adams, Tamara Braun and myself.”
“It was a day when the subject matter was Sienna and Noah realizing that Matt knows about their relationship. It was a fun day to shoot and it felt very cooperative, and felt like we were all trying to do something and it felt special.”
ROCKSTAR JACKET VIBES
Michael Fairman TV also informed Howarth that he made our annual Best Dressed Men at the Daytime Emmys, with his very cool jacket that wowed the carpet and on-stage.
“I got it at John Varvatos in Century City. Tal, who I think is the manager there, was just amazing,” recalled Roger. “I didn’t know what to wear at the Emmys, and he was like, ‘Put this coat on.’ And then, I just really liked it. My wife liked it and and he was like, ‘You’re not buying anything else. You have to get this.’ He was really sweet. He told me that he went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and he texted me, ‘I stole your vibe. I’m wearing exactly the same thing!'”
“The buying of the jacket was a big part of the positive experience I had last week. I justified the cost in my own brain by saying that I would give it to my son as a Christmas gift, but now I think I might just keep it!”

Photo: JPI
So, will Roger put his new Emmy next to his 1994 gold statuette? Not so fast! “I do have it (the other Emmy) but it’s in storage. It’s a little worse for wear,” revealed Howarth. “It’s broken … held together with blue painter’s tape and the name tags have fallen off. The glue gave up. It’s not a young Emmy. My Emmy is old enough to drink!”
SOAP START AS VIKI’S BROTHER, TODD MANNING, THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
One Life to Live would not have been the same without the leading heroine of the show, Victoria Lord and her troubled and misunderstood half-brother, Todd Manning. But together, Erika Slezak and Roger Howarth lit up the screen.
“I think anyone who gets to spend any time with Erika will say she’s lovely. There are definitely points along the way that have impact where I know somebody else has had impact on me. And the moment that I started working with Erika was pivotal, and then there’s Vicki’s acceptance of Todd, which let the audience know that Todd was a viable character on a canvas with a lot of other characters.”
Roger recalled, “I felt like I had arrived because I got to work with Erika Slezak. She was always fun, always a pleasure, consistently, solidly, dependably brilliant.”

Photo: JPI
Fast-forward to when Howarth became the third actor to take on the role of the Nick Newman’s nemesis on Y&R just over year ago. The fan favorite said he felt, “Zero trepidation’ for being a recast. “I was all in from the from the beginning. I think Josh Griffith (former head writer, Y&R) wrote a really strong entrance and immediately I got to work with Tamara Braun, Sharon Case, Joshua Morrow and Lucas Adams and it felt great from the beginning. I didn’t have time to be trepidatious.”
With all the recent knocks to the head and the battling demons within Matt Clark, Howarth has a bring-it-on attitude at Y&R. Recent scenes had Matt talking to himself in a motel room and fans did not know what version of Matt would emerge. “I enjoy every minute of it. I like how dynamic Matt is. I really appreciate the writing. I think he’s really interesting to play.”
He added, “I think difficulty can kind of sneak up on you when you’re working. If you have to walk into a room crowded with people and say “the ambulance is here,” that can go sideways. I think they’re all challenges and they’re all kind of unique. They are like these little puzzles I like all of them. On that particular day, Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe, Y&R) was directing and she was great and gave me really clear direction that this what this moment demands, and this is what we’re asking of you to play Matt this way, and this particular thing, and it was all plotted out, and I didn’t want to let her down.”
As for his Genoa City co-stars, Roger added, “First of all, I just love Joshua Morrow. It kind of begins and ends there. He’s a really lovely dude. I really enjoy working with him and getting to know him a little bit. He’s always fun and always positive and works really hard. I think he’s a terrific actor. He’s the best. And Sharon Case, she’s been so sweet, really terrific and lovely to work with. I’ve really had a great time here. Like, it’s good.”

Photo: JPI
WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR MATT CLARK UNDER NEW HEAD WRITERS?
Starting on-screen on November 11, the new material from the co-head writing team of Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor will debut, Howarth has his own thoughts on what he hopes is down the road for Matt on Y&R.
“Part of being in an actor in serial television is to surrender to whatever the writing Gods have in store for you. And I’m down for any and all of it. I’ve gotten to know Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor a little bit. I think they’re really lovely and smart and talented. I would love for Matt Clark to continue to grow and change in any direction,” said Roger.

Photo: JPI
A DAYTIME ORIGINAL
We expressed to Roger how his over three decades on and off in daytime drama have truly been memorable and that so many fans are always intrigued and excitement to see him return to their screens in whatever role he plays. Those roles have included: One Life’s Todd, As the World Turns’ Paul Ryan, General Hospital’s Franco Baldwin and Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt, and now Y&R’s Matt.
“Hearing you saying that now, I think that makes me feel great and I appreciate you saying it. I really love what I do,” shared Roger. “I just feel lucky that I still get to do it. I don’t spend a whole lot of time thinking about all of the times that I’ve had a chance to sing at the ball. I’m just really grateful that I’m still in the game and I really want to keep trying.”
For a preview of what’s coming up for Matt, Howarth teased, “I don’t know how to categorize what’s ahead for the character. I know that I’m in good hands and that I look forward to anything else I might get to do, so please, stay tuned.”
So, what do you think about Roger winning his second Emmy in his career for his performance as Matt Clark on The Young and the Restless? What would you like to see happen to Matt in story in the months to come? What are your thoughts when you look back at the brother/sister duo of Viki and Todd on One Life to Live?
