THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: What Do You Think of How Steffy, Thomas & Taylor Engineered Getting Ridge Away from Brooke?

Courtesy/CBS

On Friday’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Steffy(Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson), with an assist from Taylor (Krista Allen), seemed to have been successful in getting their parents back together – as their plan to throw a wrecking ball through what was left of Brooke and Ridge’s marriage kicked into high gear.

Brooke, who is in hot water for her drunken night with Deacon (Sean Kanan), although she only shared a kiss with him, and others have embellished what happened between them after that, is desperately trying to get a hold of Ridge, who headed to the cliff house where Steffy, Thomas, and Taylor are all together.

Courtesy/CBS

Thomas hijacks Ridge’s phone as Brooke is calling her husband, but he never gets the messages. Later, when Brooke shows up, Thomas goes outside to block Brooke from getting inside the house, so Taylor and Ridge can reconnect. Thomas has some very harsh words for Brooke, including the time she pushed him over the cliff.  Before she leaves, Brooke defiantly tells Thomas she will never give up on Ridge, “Never.”

Courtesy/CBS

Inside, Steffy is all manipulation telling Ridge she needs to hear Taylor out and listen to the woman who truly cares and loves him unconditionally. Steffy says she is going to leave them alone so they can talk.  Meanwhile, Brooke heads home in anguish telling Hope (Annika Noelle) and Liam (Scott Clifton) that her marriage is falling completely apart and she can’t stop it from happening.

Courtesy/CBS

Alone with Taylor, Ridge asks her honest opinion of his marriage to Brooke.  Does Ridge really think Taylor does not have a stake in the game to give an unbiased opinion to him?  Taylor goes on to say that Brooke isn’t worthy of him and has never been and there’s many reasons why that is – but – number one is her pattern of turning to other men. Taylor goes on to say that Brooke wants what she wants and when she wants, and then if caught cries a river of tears out of it.  She ends her ‘analysis’ of Brooke telling Ridge, “I think you deserve so much better.”  Of course, to Taylor, that so much ‘better’ is her!

Now that she has positioned herself in the right place and the right time (and remember she’s a shrink so she knows how to get reactions out of people), she shares a kiss with Ridge, which in the end prompts Ridge to says that it’s time for him to come home!

Watch the final moments of Friday’s B&B cliffhanger below.  Now weigh-in: What do you think about how Steffy, Thomas and Taylor have been behaving to get Ridge away from Brooke and back with their family? Are you rooting for them, or for Brooke and Ridge to work things out? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

Whatever needs to be done to make Brooke miserable, I’m all for. Steffy and Thomas hit the nail on the head when talking about how Brooke just has to cry and say I’m sorry and gullible Ridge falls for it every time.
On a side note, if this was Hunter Tylo getting Ridge back, I would be dancing on the ceiling. Nothing against new Taylor, but this has been a long time coming and as a viewer from day one, I would have been overjoyed to see Hunter finally win.

Where was she when Thomas was really going off the deep end, making out with the Hope dummy. What an idiot!

That is a writers decision. I cannot question that because I don’t feel that Bell was ready to bring Taylor back until he recast the character.

There is definitely no love lost between Brooke and Thomas. And both Steffy and Thomas clearly believe that Brooke took Ridge away from their mother.

Steffy and Thomas need to grow up! Steffy should focus on her own marriage and Sheila looming in the background and Thomas needs to get a life!

This B.S has been going on for years. Steffy and Thomas are grown up and should be living their own lives, not interfering in their parents. Dumb Thomas can’t even manage his own life, obsessed with his step-sister Hope whom he gives his son to. That’s stable right and he knows how to tell his father how to live his life and who to love. I think Ridge should have stood up to this bunch and told them that he loves his wife and they will figure out their marriage on their own. It also wasn’t that long ago when… Read more »

I am still trying to figure out how Ridge can be so self righteous. And why is no one looking in to how she went back to drinking on that night. Deacon already stated that it was not him. So who else in that town would want to see her go down? Tough story to follow but think Deacon and Brooke would be the hotter couple. So let Ridge go back to Taylor!

I love the fact that Bold and Beautiful had a true fight! I hate it when Soaps allow one person to hit the other person without that person defending himself. That’s the reason that I never enjoyed the confrontations on General Hospital because Sonny and Jason were allowed to win all fights without allowing the opponents to land a blow! Plus , when Carly slapped Nina , she didn’t respond in any manner. That’s not a reality unless the other person is using Scripture by turning the other cheek. Finally , speaking of Brooke , Taylor , Ridge , Steffy… Read more »

Boop, here’s the scoop! You had me cracking up with your analysis here, particularly, “I hate it when Soaps allow one person to hit the other person without that person defending himself.” Of course, you’re absolutely right! Most of us would fight back. I totally agree with your assessment of fights on GH as well as these “hypocrites” on B&B. Brooke doesn’t deserve such treatment. One other soap practice that drives me up a wall because it virtually never happens in real life: Two people in a room (typically containing a cart that is always stocked with glasses, liquor, and… Read more »

I agree with most of your analysis but keep in mind that there are good guys and bad guys and we are supposed to think that Sonny’s guys are the good ones, so consequently no fair fight. As far as Carly slapping Nina, she feels guilty and probably felt she deserved the slap so if she slapped her back it would be like defending herself.

This is WAY OFF topic but here goes: is the hair dept. shorthanded because of COVID? Because Thomas’ hairline in the back looks like someone put a mask on their eyes when cutting it. Up, down, sideways…how can such a great-looking guy not give more attention to one of his best assets? One pass with a straight clipper could fix the problem, Heck, I’d volunteer for the job.

Soaphound Hi, how are you doing? This hair thing is I think of interest to a lot of us. How could it not be, watching them hour on hour. My home care worker has a Beauty Salon and on the days she is here, she has a coffee break and watches with me. We discuss the hair styles all the time, men and women. Mostly, she agrees with me but sometimes she’ll explain that the hair styles have changed a lot, especially the young guys that will get these weird cuts and she says it takes everything in her not… Read more »

Hello dear VIOLET, I’m hanging in like most of us…Just waiting for life to resume some sort of normalcy. On the plus side, I’m finishing 3 – 4 books every month which is good for a fairly slow but dedicated reader like me. I’m only glad I don’t have to read the awful scripts that are turning up on GH and Y&R. What’s going on? You and I could produce better plots for a lot less money! The Sonny Show is unbearable; you’re so right about Austin’s hairdo…is that a dead sardine up there? The man is past 50 and… Read more »

Soaphound So nice hearing from you. I’ve missed you lately. I’ve been an avid reader most of my life but the last few years, it’s been hard on the old eyes so I usually use my Tablet for anything I have to read. Is it just me, I can’t be the only mother they would have to tear away from a sick baby, 24 hrs a day and not be hanging out on the sofa, “miles” away on a baby monitor? Oh,and something I have to disagree with you on, I’d rather have Rey without Sharon, although I do not… Read more »

Violet, I agree they’re going for a Sharon & Nick go-around…AGAIN. I do like them together, but that’s just my sentimental side. I prefer Sharon with Adam now because she and Mark G. really work well together. I’d also hoped that Noah and Adam could become more like family but they dropped that just like they dropped Adam and Nick getting closer. Oh, and this awful Dumb, sorry, Dom story. Outpatient bone marrow treatment…really? Where? A hospital in the year 2100? And what if they misplace that omnipresent baby monitor…that thing works more than all the Fisher/Baldwin clan combined. It… Read more »

Sharon is just too “perfect” for me, from the way she speaks, acts, interacts with everyone. She dresses too well as if she’s working at Society and not a little coffee shop. She’s even nice to Nicki, who until recently hasn’t been able to stand her, thought she was marrying Nick for his money. Its just me I guess, most everyone thinks she’s a paragon of virtue.

There is no fun in watching this mess. Brooke should tell them all where to go and walk away. What hypocrites Ridge, Steffy, and Thomas are. Let them without sin cast the first stone. Always disliked how no one fights for their relationships on B&B. Ridge is weak of spirit. Kids are brats, acting like this in their mid-30s. No wonder RJ never comes home!

Awful. Same tired storyline but should’ve known the minute Taylor came back. Steffy & Thomas weren’t huge Brooke fans but it was like they all flipped a switch the minute Taylor arrived back in town and were out to get her. If I talked to my father the way Steffy talked to Ridge….he would tell me to shut it.

Sheila has to mind her Ps and Qs around Steffy on the off chance of her getting close to Phin and the baby. Probably her best bet would just be to throw her off the cliff.

I’m over it. Every episode is everyone talking about storyline A. Why not have A, B, and C storylines? They should get rid of half the cast and come up with new interesting stories to cover. The Paris/Zende/Carter story is a snooze fest. Paris is so listless in her performance. Get actors who have energy already! A kiss is no big deal. A few years ago, Thomas and Brooke were on an island with berries where they almost did more than that. Thomas also has no room to be righteous after what he pulled with hope. I know the plan… Read more »

That was the hottest kissing session I have seen on this show in years. I wasn’t prepared for how passionate and tender this moment was between Ridge and Taylor. It was romantic, it was longing, it was passion, compassion, tenderness, and caressing. It was loving and kind and understanding and human. This was not obsession and throw-down sex. This was full of really deep feelings and it was intimate, so intimate. I really have to compliment the actors in this scene, they really knocked it out of the park. I felt them. I felt the kind of love they share.… Read more »

Genna, There will be opposing takes on this but I see a man who has been hurt by his wife and thinks “she’s done him wrong” you are forgetting Sheila manipulated this whole scenario to hurt Brooke. Ridge’s ego has been hurt and it takes longer to fix one as big as he’s got. His kids constantly throwing their own mother at him, doesn’t hurt either. Ridge had many turns with Taylor years ago and it never worked out. He may love her as the mother of his kids but Brooke is in his blood. When the truth comes out,… Read more »

Sheila is not to blame for Brooke lying to Ridge. That is what is going on with Ridge. He just can’t trust her. It is that simple. However Bell plays this, Ridge and Brooke should be over for good. I realize that Bell thinks that his lead female character is the be-all and end-all of his soap but honestly, people are just tired of her. Bell should have diversified this show a long time ago. I really think that her co-dependence and his constantly enabling her should be over. Everybody is tired of it. Hopefully, Bell will see the light… Read more »

I’m over it!! The writers did a terrible job. Who allows they’re kids to manipulate them like that and Taylor isn’t perfect either acting like she’s just so good. Remember she slept with the doctor back in the day that never came out. And planning out the scene sooooo long omg. I’m so over it. Why couldn’t Ridge and Brooke win!! Not allow them to brake up!! Days Of Our Lives

Sal Stowers Delivers The ‘Power Performance of the Week’ As She Exits Days of our Lives

You know the song and the adage, “Save the Best for Last”, well, that is exactly what Sal Stowers (Lani Price Grant) did, when she had viewers of Days of our Lives in tears during her final scenes on Friday’s episode of the long-running NBC soap opera.

Stowers, who along with her co-star, Lamon Archey (Eli), opted not to renew their contracts with the series, which then facilitated their exits. Thus, viewers were in for one last emotional ride during their departures.

Now, while Lani admitted she killed TR, and quickly got a plea deal, she was then ready to be transferred to an out-of-state prison facility to serve out her time.  While all of this happened in short order, for the back-half of Friday’s episode you needed to have the hankies ready. That’s because of Stowers heartfelt goodbyes with her co-stars, which also played out for her on-screen alter ego, Lani.

In story, Abe (James Reynolds) joins Paulina (Jackée Harry) and Lani in the Salem PD interrogation room. With tears welling up in his eyes, Abe hands Lani some documents to sign.  After she realizes what they are, Lani says, “You want to adopt me?” Abe says, ‘yes’, and lets her know that she’s his daughter in every way that counts.

After Lani and Abe share a tender moment together, Lani turns to Paulina and gives her the greatest gift – acknowledging Paulina as her mother.

Later with Chanel (Raven Bowens), Theo (Cameron Johnson), and now Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Eli present, Rafe shows up to tell Elani that the transfer is done, and Lani can go to the facility in D.C.  That prompts Rafe to share emotional hugs with his two best cops.  It is then that Eli tells Lani he is moving to D.C. to be close to her.

Before Lani heads off, Paulina asks her to say it one more time.  Lani simply, once again, calls her “Mom”.  Elani’s twins, Carver and Jules are there as well, and Lani tells her children she is going on a little trip, but she will never, ever stop thinking of them.

Photo: JPI

The final moment of the episode has Lani and Eli giving one last look to their family collectively, before they exit the police station.

Throughout all of the goodbyes, there was never a false note delivered by Sal Stowers.  She always brought the strength, elegance, and determination of Lani Price to her performances, and this time, she did it with heartbreaking moments we will remembers for some time to come.  For all of these reasons, Michael Fairman TV names Sal Stowers work, The Power Performance of the Week.

What did you think of  Lani and Eli’s goodbyes to their loved ones? Sal’s performance? Let us know in the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL 15000th Episode: Laura Faces Being Ousted as Mayor as Port Charles Bands Together in Support of Her

Finally, after many preemptions, General Hospital’s 15,000the episode aired on Wednesday. In it and front and center in the standalone episode was GH icon, Genie Francis (Laura).

In story, after a scathing op-ed is run in The Invader from a group of citizens called “The Friend of Port Charles”, they take aim at Mayor Laura Collins and want a recall to replace her. When trying to figure out who was behind the story, Laura’s friends and the citizens of the town, band together to keep her from being ousted and to figure out who would attack her in the press like this.

That sets up a few sentimental flashback clips featuring the three current longest-running members of the cast, Genie, Kin Shriner (Scott) and Jackie Zeman (Bobbie).  Viewers get a glimpse of Scotty and Laura’s wedding, and then Bobbie’s contentious and duplicitous side when she fought for the love of Scotty against a teenaged Laura.

As Laura tries to determine who is behind the op-ed, Curtis (Donnell Turner) gets a lead from Ms. Wu (Lydia Look) that Laura’s half-brother, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) is behind it.  Laura then heads to Pentonville to confront Cyrus.  She asks if he’s the brains behind “The Friends of Port Charles”.

Cyrus insists he is only an advisor. He goes on to say that this is a group of people who are disillusioned by the way she is running the town.  Cyrus gets angry and vengeful, and emotional, when saying the police department is corrupt and how ELQ and Cassadine Industries gets tax breaks at the expense of less fortunate people, etc.  Laura can’t figure out if these people in the ‘friends’ group have such high moral value why would they hire a criminal, like him, as an advisor?

Renault goes on to say that it’s up to God and preaches she needs to be less self-righteous.  Laura throws back to Cyrus that where was God in that scathing op-ed, that he did filled with such hate?  Laura then forgives him and walks out, which stuns Cyrus.

Photo: ABC

Later, Scotty in front of Laura, Bobbie, Anna (Finola Hughes), Felicia (Kristina Wagner) and Lucy (Lynn Herring), proposes to Liesl (Kathleen Gati), but she turns down his marriage proposal.  Liesl feels they have a good thing going , so why mess it up with a marriage at this point. The two kiss.

In addition, Laura meets up with Maxie (Kirsten Storms), who are visiting an institutionalized Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst).  Maxie brings her some cosmetics from Deception because of the bad lighting in the facility.

The softball game was the throughline of the episode, and at the end, we saw the payoff, when all the characters converged on Charlie’s giving their support to Laura, who says she is ready to write her rebuttal.

Then in a voice-over from Laura, she speaks to the essence of Port Charles and its residents which included: that they have a strong community that she is proud to be a part of it and she speaks to her legacy over generations.  Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) proposes a toast to Laura, as she notes that if she loses the recall then so be it, adding that if the person who replaces her is a Port Charles lifer, like she is, then the town will continue to prosper.

So, what did you think of the 15,000 episode milestone episode? Did you enjoy the performance of Genie Francis? Did you like the way much of the cast was utilized, or did you feel otherwise? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: Two Moms Unite To Keep Finn Alive … Or Will One Throw the Other Under the Bus?

Gotta love two creepy mothers toiling over their near-dead son as they try to bring him back to life! That’s the scenario on The Bold and the Beautiful and the words, “Oh, mother!” were taken to a new heights on Friday’s cliffhanger of the CBS daytime drama series.

In story, now that Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) has stumbled upon the truth at Li’s (Naomi Matsuda) place – that Li has been keeping a very much alive Finn (Tanner Novlan) all to herself and caring for his health – bio-mom, nasty nurse Sheila, is not too happy about Li’s secret, although overjoyed that her son is alive and that she did not actually kill him after she fired a bullet meant for Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).

Photo: JPI

Now, with Sheila escaped from prison, and Finn starting to regain consciousness, in Sheila’s mind there should only be one mother tending to him, and she wants to be the first person he sees when he wakes up and that’s her.   So, as only Sheila does, she knocks Li out and unconscious on the floor.  Sheila then tells Finn, “Mama’s right here, baby.”

Suddenly, Finn seems to slip back into a coma and is no longer able to open his eyes.  A panicked Sheila shouts to Li, “Get up. He needs your help.” After waking up from the hit to the hit, Li seems to find common ground with Sheila.  She goes so far as to say to Sheila, “If not for you. I never would have had him, and for that, I have to be grateful.”

Sheila apologizes for having hitting her (Is she really sorry? Please!) and admits she thought Li would turn her back into the police. Li says, “We’re both Finn’s mothers!”  Next, the two hug it out, of sorts, although Li looks petrified.

Li tells Sheila that since Sheila is a nurse, she needs supplies and needs her help to keep Finn alive.  Li promises Sheila that she won’t call the police, admitting that she also has so much to lose including: her medical career, her son, etc, because she faked Finn’s death certificate, smuggled him out of the hospital, and more!

Now, Finn starts to move.  Li says to her son, “Both of your mothers are here!”  Then, Finn starts to open his eyes.  We fade to black.

With all the bashing (literally), contentiousness, and high stakes; that both mothers would have to go to the slammer for a longtime, will they reunite and work together to keep the secret that Finn is alive and get him back to a full recovery … or will they turn on each other?  Will Sheila knock out Li again and have her locked up, so she can be Finn’s only mom in her twisted mind? Share your theories via the comment section, but first, check out two clips from Friday’s B&B featuring the on-going great work of Kimberlin Brown and Naomi Matsuda in this storyline.
