The Rock Returns to WWE Monday Night Raw; Hints He Wants Spot at The ‘Head of the Table’ Held By Roman Reigns
On the Day 1 edition of USA Network’s, WWE Monday Night Raw’s first broadcast of 2024, Triple H had been promising on social media that a former WWE champion would make an appearance.
With rumors from everyone from Stone Cold Steve Austin to The Rock, it would be intriguing to see just what RAW had in store. However, when it was time for the segment, out-walked former WWE champion, Jinder Mahal. Not exactly what the disappointed crowd was expecting. Mahal went on an anti-American rant for several minutes to rev up and set up the crowd for what was to come.
Suddenly, The Rock’s theme music hit and out came Dwayne Johnson, and the crowd at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego went nuts! The last time The Rock was seen on television in the WWE was last September on SmackDown.
In a perfect comedic send-up featuring all the best hits in The Rock’s arsenal, Johnson verbally took down Mihal, even paying a nod to the late, great, Iron Sheik, who Mihal tried to compare himself to. The Rock even sang a rendition of the “National Anthem”, which ended with him changing the lyric to that he was going to “whoop Mahal’s candy ass!” Later, The Rock led a unified chant from side to side at the arena calling Mahal a “douche bag” in the process.
When it was time for a tussle, The Rock delivered ‘the most electrifying move in sports entertainment’, The People’s Elbow, and took out Mahal.
However, then came the most intriguing part. Standing in the ring and addressing the crowd, The Rock asked where should he sit when he goes to dinner after the show — a booth, at the bar, or perhaps “at the head of the table?” With that, The Rock took a direct shot at WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns.
Could it be that The Rock will wrestle Roman Reigns for the title at WrestleMania 40 in April in Philadelphia, or even in Australia at Elimination Chamber this February in Perth, Australia?

Following The Rock’s major hint, Roman Reigns took to his social media and responded with a laughing hysterical emoji.

You start remembering what it was like back then, even things like how much your feet would ache at the end of the day from wearing six-inch heels. It was just lovely to be back and see everybody.”

THE 411 ON TIA AND KALISTA
Speaking with TV Insider, about their soapy experience in Fairmont Crest, Tabitha Brown previewed about her host with the most, “Tia is very professional, but she’s a girl’s girl. She is a protector of women and wants to tell their stories in a beautiful way, but she also wants to make sure they’re seen in a very good light.”
However, Burruss previews that Kalista arrives with a score to settle. “She’s spicy,” shared the recording artist. “I always love playing somebody that has come to start trouble. It’s always fun to play a villain of sorts, but Kalista feels like she’s been done wrong and she’s hurt by what she feels has been done to her. So Kalista is stirring up trouble, but she feels justified putting Dani on blast. Kalista is ready for some payback.”
Beyond the Gates is produced by CBS Studios, as part of the CBS Studios/NAACP Venture, in partnership with P&G Studios, a division of Procter & Gamble. Created by head writer Michele Val Jean, executive producers include Val Jean, Sheila Ducksworth, Julie Carruthers, Tracey Thomson, Leon W. Russell, Derrick Johnson, Anna Saalfeld and Lela Coffey.
