The Scandal Of Ex-CIA Director David Petraeus: "General's Hospital" with Stephen Colbert & Susan Lucci!

In a hilarious satire last night on Comedy Central’s Colbert Report, host Stephen Colbert compared the latest Washington D.C. sex scandal involving former CIA Director, David Petraeus to a soap calling the entire lurid story the latest steamy episode of “General’s Hospital”!

After illustrating all the “characters” in Petraeus’s sex saga and saying it’s time to move on from it, all of a sudden All My Children’s Susan Lucci walked out on to the stage and revealed that, “General Petraeus has developed amnesia, and cant remember that he’s pregnant… by his own evil twin… who’s in a coma… and is my lover.”

And there is much more hilarity to this segment between Lucci and Colbert, especially when Susan slaps him from afar saying she has telekinesis, just like General Petraeus!

Watch it after the jump and let us know what you thought of La Lucci, and how General Petraeus’ scandal is very much like a convoluted storyline on of our favorite soaps!

I’m not surprised. I think the whole Petraeus thing is beyond soapy. My hubby said he’ll never make fun of my soaps anymore after this crazy story.

My husband cannot get enough of this show as well as The Daily Show, but I did not see this one. Thanks for sharing, Michael.

I always felt that the name “Petraeus” sounded like “betray us.” Ever since he was put in charge and his name became household, I have thought “betray us.” I suppose it is fitting that he is now part of [yet another] stupid sex scandal.

Loved it. The fact that it was done with a tongue in each cheek makes it even better. But it also helps to prove the point that the soap is an American treasure that MUST be preserved…

While Kim Delaney is currently appearing on General Hospital in the role of Jackie Templeton, and she just appeared in her new Lifetime movie, The Long Island Serial Killer: A Mother’s Hunt of Justice, the actress revealed she would be up for appearing in the upcoming primetime revival in development of All My Children.

Delaney became soap-famous in the role of AMC’s Jenny Gardner from 1981-1984 before she was killed-off the show in the now iconic jet ski explosion.

In an interview with Soaps.com, Kim shared on being part of the reboot: “All they have to do is ask, and I’m there.  Sure, Jenny died, but someone asked me the other day if we ever saw her body. So maybe she’s out there, somewhere… ”

TONIGHT: Kim Delaney Stars in Lifetime’s ‘The Long Island Serial Killer: A Mother’s Hunt for Justice’

Make sure to catch General Hospital and former All My Children and NYPD Blue star, Kim Delaney (Jackie, GH, Ex-Jenny, AMC) tonight on Saturday, February 20th when her highly-anticipated Lifetime movie debuts beginning at 8pm EST/7pm CST which marks the cable network’s 400th original movie.

In The Long Island Serial Killer: A Mother’s Hunt for Justice, it tells the story of Mari Gilbert’s search for the truth behind what happened to her daughter Shannan, a sometime escort who disappeared after a ‘date’ on Long Island.

After Shannan (Katharine Isabelle, Hannibal) fails to come home, her mother Mari (Delaney) knows something is terribly wrong. Pleading to police to take her concerns seriously, she keeps pushing the police for answers. Mari’s insistence that her daughter not be overlooked eventually leads to a horror hidden on Long Island for more than a decade – 19 bodies of young women discovered buried in shallow graves along Ocean Parkway in the area of Jones Beach State Park. Though the search for the killer is still ongoing, Mari’s passionate dedication to giving her daughter and other forgotten women a voice, and the attention they deserve, has kept the case alive with hopes of a breakthrough soon. The movie not only follows a mother’s tireless search for the truth, but it also digs deep into the murders, including Shannan’s, that have gone unsolved for so long.

Delaney’s film, executive produced by Deborah Norville, is based off real life-events that transpired in the early 2010’s where the crimes were never solved.

In an interview with 98.1 WOGL Radio’s Glenn Kalina, Delaney shared: “There is hope in the film… but you also want an answer… what happened to all of these girls?  My character just was relentless trying to find her (daughter) or find answers where she was.  They found a bunch of other bodies, and what they learned was that they were all escorts… and then they learned there was a possible serial killer.”

Check out a promo for the movie below.
