In casting news, The Young and the Restless has cast three-time Daytime Emmy winner, Jade Harlow in the recurring role of Marie Kirkland.

According to a Y&R rep, Marie is someone with a complicated past looking to make a fresh start in Genoa City. Viewers can look for Marie’s first appearance next month on the Monday, August 10 episode.

Harlow got her soap start as Jessica Bennett on NBC’s Passions. She appeared on the defunct soap from 2000-2003. She also appeared on Days of Our Lives as Sheryl Connors in 2010.

However, it has been her role as Lianna Ramos, on the multi-Emmy winning streaming series The Bay that has brought her accolades. She played Lianna during various seasons of the series from 2010-2020.

Jade took home the gold in 2016 for the Outstanding Digital Daytime Drama Series (as a producer/part of the production team), then in 2018: for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Digital Daytime Drama Series and in 2020 Outstanding Performance by a Lead Actress in a Digital Drama Series. She also received a nomination in 2021 for her role on The Bay in the renamed Outstanding Lead Actress in a Daytime Fiction Program.

On primetime, Jade has appeared on the series Criminal Minds, and Second Chances to name but a few of her other credits.

So, who do you think Marie Kirkland (as played by Jade Harlow) will mix it up with in story when she comes to town and debuts on The Young and the Restless? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

I think she is going to be Colleen

… it says who she is playing in the article.

Well, Colleen would be in her 30’s.

Traci donated Colleen’s kidneys to a 16 or 19 year old girl, who would now be in her 30’s . !!! So it’s possible that she is the recipient of them .
A father got her corneas,

Hi, I know anything is possible on soaps, but Colleen died, many years ago.

Oh for gosh sakes Colleen donated her heart by Traci to ass hole Victor but yes let’s forget that storyline because EB did not like it I pray somebody writes the story where Tracy reigns holy hell down on Victor I’m praying for that day before they cancel this shit show

I totally forgot her heart was donated to Victor !

what explanation can they use for her reappearance after all these years of her being zombie material?

Awe man, Jade Harlow would have been a fantastic Willow recast on GH!!! The actress playing Willow is not working it the way I had hoped, however, Jade captures nuance and would have rocked that role.
Lucky Y&R!

They aren’t recasting the role.

We will see how long this lasts with the upcoming head writer soap that’s due to be happening. Plus, I really was not impressed with Jade Harlow during her Days of Our Lives stint. Hopefully she has improved.

Wonmany awards, probably great

Winning “many awards” does not mean they are “probably great”. Again, based on the work I’ve seen her in, I’m not impressed but am willing to give her a chance in a new role.

Winning “many awards” does not mean they are “probably great”. Speaking of Day’s stint with Ms. Jade is before my time, so we’ll see, won’t we.

Great….another character, soon to be forgotten. It will be interesting to see how long she lasts with a new writer coming on.

Why not focus on developing Audra’s character and background?

I’m sorry but Y&R needs an entire overhaul! Maybe the tornado could follow Victor to Genoa City! They definitely need new sets!

She’ll end up with Kyle

Sydney Malekeh Joins the Cast of ‘Days of Our Lives’ in Mystery Role: Who Do You Think She’s Playing?

There’s a new gal coming to Salem, or is she new and a recast? That’s what inquiring minds from Days of Our Lives fans have been trying to figure out since the Peacock soap opera dropped an Instagram video heralding actress‘ Sydney Malekeh’s arrival in Salem.

The soap did confirm that viewers will first see Malekeh on the September 9 episode. In the video, Malekeh is seen going set to set from her dressing room and in to the halls of Days of Our Lives studios.

What we do know id that Sydney has been acting professionally for 6 years and had appeared on Grey’s Anatomy, Apple TV’s Shrinking and the HBO Max’s The Sex Lives of College Girls.

Plenty of Malekeh’s DAYS castmates jumped into the comment thread with positive emojis symbols or written excitement including: Paul Telfer (Xander), Linsey Godfrey (Sarah), Sal Stowers (Lani), Conner Floyd (Chad), Eric Martsolf (Brady) and Christie Clark (Carrie) and more now that fans will finally see her on-air. Since Days of Our Lives tapes 10-11 months in advance, Sydney would have started taping the show sometime back in 2025.

DAYS fans think perhaps because the actress’ name is Sydney that she might be playing the grown-up daughter of Sami and EJ. That character hasn’t bee on the canvas since 2021.

So, who do you think Sydney Malekeh might be playing on Days of Our Lives? Drop your casting director thoughts via the comment section below.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Jonathan Jackson Shares Emotional Tribute to His ‘Nashville’ Leading Lady Hayden Panettiere

The entertainment world has been mourning the loss of Hayden Panettiere, who died on Sunday at the age of 36. Panettiere, who was so familiar to daytime drama fans in the roles of a very young Sarah Roberts on One Life to Live and Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light, also starred as an adult in the primetime music city soap opera, Nashville as country and western singer, Juliette Barnes.

Panettiere’s leading man in the series, was none other than six-time Daytime Emmy-winner, Jonathan Jackson (ex-Lucky Spencer, General Hospital) who played musician Avery Barkley.

The actress’ death is still under investigation in Greenville, South Carolina, now calling in the DEA  after the Greenville County Coroner’s Office said there was “no signs of trauma that were discovered that would have contributed to the death.” Hayden’s body was released to her family on Tuesday, August. 18. It is believed Panettiere died of an “overdose.”

WE GREW UP IN THE INDUSTRY

Jonathan Jackson took to his Instagram on Wednesday night, August 19 to share poignant words in remembrance of his Nashville co-star. “I have no words to express the loss of our beloved Hayden,” began Jackson. “She had such a bright light within her. She was a sensitive soul. Incredibly funny and witty. Amazingly gifted, with a great sense of empathy and compassion. We both grew up in the industry, although she started even younger than me, but we shared that. A silent knowing of how intense the struggles can be.”

Panetierre started in show business in 1990 at only 11-months-old, while Jackson was cast on General Hospital in 1993 as Luke (Anthony Geary) and Lauras’s (Genie Francis) son, Lucky when he was 11-years-old. Jonathan drew on the parallels in their lives for his remembrance to his late former co-star.

“She was an absolute joy to work with. Focused, spontaneous and brilliant,” continued Jackson. “The most important thing between friends and coworkers is trust, and we had this. Elisa (formerly, Lisa Vultaggio) and I both love and cherish her deeply, like our own sister. She holds that place in our hearts. My prayer for her every day we worked together was that she would know how loved she is, and that she would find the peace that she was looking for.”

WE LOVE YOU, HAYDEN

Sadly, Jonathan concluded with, “It’s not possible to express the shock and grief that so many of us feel right now. Our humble prayers are with her family. May God’s angels carry you to your place of rest and true peace. We love you Hayden. You will always be in our hearts. Always.”

Nashville ran for four seasons from 2012-2016 on ABC, and then moved to CMT for its final two seasons from 2016-2018. The actors on the show could also sing and like Jackson, Hayden had a powerful singing voice that was showcased in the series as well as her undeniable acting chops.

Michael Fairman TV previously shared more of Panettiere’s Guiding Light and Nashville co-star tributes here.

So, what did you think of Jonathan Jackson’s very touching tribute to Hayden Panettiere? Did you love them as Juliette and Avery on Nashville? What have you thought about the ongoing investigation into Hayden’s death? Share your thoughts via the comment section.
