The Young and the Restless Fan Event 2019 Photos, Tidbits & Teases

Photo: HutchinsPhoto.com

On Sunday, The Young and the Restless hosted their every two-year fan event for their die-hard faithfuls and beloved fans who came from across the globe and the U.S.  Fans representing Australia, Canada, France, and Switzerland showed the depth of how Y&R has reached a worldwide audience as well as domestically.

Presiding over the cast introductions were Daniel Goddard and Melissa Ordway.  Several tidbits were announced from the stage as well including that: Melissa Claire Egan’s first airdate back as Chelsea is set for this Friday on the June 28th episode of the CBS sudser.

Jess Walton revealed to the audience that though she took July off, she will be back in August for a run of shows meaning that viewers will see a lot more of Jill Foster Abbott in the months to come. In addition, Jess said that Daniel Goddard mentioned that her jacket reminded him of the Sound of Music, which provided a laugh for the crowd.

Tammy Diamond was one lucky fan when her name was called from the stage as the winner of the raffle that has the winner getting a Y&R character named after them, or mention in an upcoming script.

Not in attendance were Marla Adams who was dealing with a health issue, but Beth Maitland said she had a message from her on-screen mother to thank everyone for their support of the Alzheimer’s storyline on Y&R.  Jason Thompson, Amelia Heinle, Joshua Morrow and Tracey E. Bregman all had prior commitments and could not attend the event, but everyone else from the cast was there and the fans were thrilled to see them up close and personal,

In an emotional moment, Doug Davidson thanked the fans for willing him back to the show and back on-contract. Laurelee Bell also thanked the fans for if it were not for them, none of them, nor the show would still be on the air.

When Melody Thomas Scott and Eric Braeden took the stage to address the crowd, Braeden said that while Victor is having health issues on-air, he is just fine squelching any rumors. The iconic duo also noted that they were very happy with the regime change of EP Tony Morina and head writer, Josh Griffith leading Genoa City right now.

In a fun moment, Sharon Case took to the stage with her on-screen love interests, Mark Grossman and Jordi Vilasuso, but the trio found themselves auctioning off “Shick” scripts to the winners!

Kate Linder got into the audience as the fan event auctioned off a set visit to Y&R, and as it turned out, two fans won set visits each bidding $5000 for the opportunity.

OK– The Young and the Restless needs to change its title/Name.. Most all these pictures are of Senior Citizens. Now- I luvs them all, great actors and characters, but- they are not young nor restless.lol When Y&R started, they were young, but time moves on. To be in the classification of young is to be 30 and below. Now 40 is said to be the new 30 so can push it up to a squeaky 40. A new title is needed, indeed. I will be thinking of a new one.. Anyways– having a two-year fan event is a good thing.… Read more »
