Next week on the number one soap opera The Young and the Restless, their summer of secrets continues as Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) makes his way back to Genoa City after being kidnapped and held against his will!

When he arrives in town, will anyone believe who he is … and that there is a fake Jack roaming around in the body of Marco the Peruvian drug lord, who is Jack’s doppelganger? Meanwhile, Lily (Christel Khalil) who is pissed off about Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Lauren’s  (Tracey E. Bregman) kiss, is about to take matters into her own hands and flirts and plants a kiss on Joe Clark (Scott Elrod), the man who when he came to Genoa City in the first place was trying to seduce the married lady.

Now that Cane is trying to make things work with Lily and squelch his feelings for Lauren, will everyone cheat with everyone?  What has become of the character of the now womanizing scoundrel Joe Clark? And it looks like Sharon (Sharon Case) is preggers once again and this time things are pointing to the bio-dad being Dylan (Steve Burton) … but is it?

Watch the latest promo from Y&R after the jump and then weigh-in:  How will Jack prove he is the real Abbott?  What do you think of Lily’s behavior?  What do you think what has become of the character of Joe Clark?   Do you want Sharon to be pregnant again and have another child? Comment below!

I like Marco better than Jack..
Marco is vivid, Jack is usually blah..

it will be interesting !!

I like neither. Reptilian, both of them. Ugh!

heyyy CeeCee 🙂
well, we have to choose one of the reptilians, and Marco is the better..
I also have never been a fan of Jack=snore..
At least I can hate Marco for his dastardly deeds, that I actually luv lol

I’m liken Joe 😉 He is the Y&R token hot hunk !! (the only one)
‘dI luv to see him all sexy nakid hot on top of, well on top of, ummm humm eer, guess Lilly/ugh..

Ha ha ha! Cee Cee and su000, you both are cracking me up on this score. I agree with Cee Cee–Marco is repulsive. He’s the kind of guy who wears leopard print Speedos to the public pool thinking he’s being all European like. In fact, Marco in the leopard print Speedos most likely thinks he is God’s gift to the women of Genoa City.
Yikes! But I do not find Jack to be recoil-worthy. Jack is dignified, ethical and loving–he is not Marco…..POLO!
God, speaking of swimming pools, that game of Marco Polo ought to be outlawed!
Marco!……….POLO! Go away!

Yes, Marco has balls!

YES he does, Timm. We know this because he struts around in a tiny pair of Speedos!

Never have liked Christel Khalil so don’t care what happens to her character but Sharon should be preggers by Dylan and Jack deserves a break when he gets back to town. Not sure about Joe Clark. Can’t see him staying in GC very long. Michael & Lauren should get back together and Cane should find another new woman, not Lily.

Debbie, I already commented on the Lily horror on the last Y&R blog posted by Mr. Fairman. Suffice to say, CK has two speeds–she is either playing the flirty, shallow coquette or she is playing the enraged spoiled bitch-brat. There is no middle ground with this woman.
The whole Lily situation is idiotic. Really, back in the 80’s Lauren was having an extramarital affair with Brad Carlton. Their sex act was captured on Poloraids by a blackmailer, and mind you, this was way before the Internet, Kim Kadasharian or even Paris Hilton for that matter. In fact, if memory serves me, Lauren was wearing a G string lace Teddy–it was all rather risque in that Y&R provided the visuals and did not leave much up to viewers’ imaginations. My point in belaboring this rather nasty chapter of Lauren’s sex life (among many) is that Lily was not even a sparkle in her daddy’s (that would be Malcom’s) eye at the time of Lauren’s affair with Brad. The fact that Lily is competing with a woman who is her mother’s age is rather amusing to me.
And I do enjoy watching Lily stamp her feet and hold her breath until she turns blue. I honestly think had she not thrown that petulant and idiotic tantrum in her place of work, Cane would never had kissed Lauren. I think Lily’s rage and untrusting nature drove him to it. I also think Cane is a softie and a bit of spineless jelly fish.
I mean really, after Michael tried to pimp out his wife to him and after watching Lauren dissolve into a confused pool of both seduction and grief, AND after watching what it was doing to bitch-brat, Cane should have held up his hands and said to Lauren,”Nope. Uh uh. I am in way over my head here and think you ought to consult a therapist.”
Meanwhile I am enjoying watching Lily get her knickers in a state of uproar while misbehaving.

I blame Cane for the kiss and not Michael. Can should have had enough class to turn Lauren away out of respect to his goofy wife but really because of the kids.

As you all say, everyone to their own opinion, in this case Lauren. Since I’m fairly new to Y&R I don’t know all about Lauren’s questionable past and character. Just the last couple of years starting with the Carmine debacle. Really bad form, but she and Michael worked it out. Just like Carly and Sonny have to always work it out.

I’m one for classy, but I don’t mind how Lauren looks currently, or her wardrobe…for her. Certainly it’s not haute couture, but I think it suits her style, sense of self, and the business she’s in. She’s got a kind of energy that you don’t hide under a hat. And that’s ageless. In a back-handed way even Michael recognizes this energy when he suggests she needs more sex than he might be able to give her because of the cancer. Part of the reason he’s trying to pimp her off.

If anything I think some of the others actresses dress a little too boring at times…for me. It has to be a really demanding job for Wardrobe to put together the clothes for all of the different characters, everyday. They should get a round of applause.

As for how tight Lauren’s clothes are, I think everyone’s clothes are too tight on the soaps. Makes me uncomfortable just watching them try to walk, sit or climb stairs.

Perhaps when Lauren starts acting her age…middle age, that is, her marriage may be repaired. Yes, Michael has issues concerning his illness and potentially dying. Yes, he is acting brutally towards her. Yes, he should let her in. However, let’s keep in mind that Michael’s misgivings, doubts, or whatever are not misplaced. Lauren has the tendency of stepping out over every little hurdle her marriage encounters. Remember Carmine? Boo-hoo, her husband wasn’t paying enough attention to her, or whatever, so she has an illicit affair with a man young enough to be her son….or anyone, for that matter. Lauren is just a flighty, spoiled brat who cannot repress her desire to stray. I guess, for her, variety is the best policy?
If all of us women had affairs for every issue arising in our marriage/relationship, divorce rates would rise a few notches, yes?
The writers should give Tracey the dignity she deserves…..As it is, they make her look like a floosy.

CeeCee,,
the only thing that could help Lauren wold be; NEW HAIR !!
He hair is from the dark ages.. hippie & cave woman..
Her hair went out with Nixon ..

She needs to modernize herself.. Cut and style her hair…

Lily and Khalil are a waste of money and character in my opinion. There’s nothing beyond her just being a bitch, no depth of character or like -ability.

@su.
Yup! You’re right. THE HAIR!! She just needs to get rid of that wig and go au naturel. I bet her real hair is better than that rag she has been wearing for how long, now?

Su…Not that I love Lauren, but it first it’s sex, or the clothes we might wear, now us older girls aren’t allowed to have longer hair. Geez!!! Where’s the fun in that? Maybe you’ll get it when you get closer to those ancient years.

This is weird because I agree with Cee Cee, su000, and Jonathan at the same time.
Listen, Lauren has ALWAYS been a vicious skank. ALWAYS!
Lauren, while looking perfectly sublime in her string bikini, was the one making fun of Traci Abott at Traci’s sweet sixteen birthday pool party. Lauren taunted the hell out of a tearful and self conscious Traci who was wearing one of those ruffled one piece bathing suits. Lauren taunted Traci in front of a huge group of peers for being fat. I recall Lauren telling Traci,”Don’t you wish you looked hot like me?” Or something to that effect. It was horrible.
Traci went to her pink princess room with its pink princess phone, found her stash of Snickers in her closet and the tears merged with the chocolate.
Traci already had to endure her father calling her big sister “My beauty>’
No, Cee Cee, age does not become Lauren. She is a horrible and rotten person–always has been.

@Rose.
Who said anything about older women should not wear their hair long? I thought I communicated my thoughts well. Her hair does not look natural…it is stiff….either a wig or loaded with hair spray. Why? She would look so much better with nice, soft -flowing hair that moves.
My mother is 54 and wears her hair past her shoulders. But, she is well-coiffed, with style . Su was talking about Lauren having the same hair-do for years. What did she say wrong? She did not even mention age.
I am talking about her behavior, Rose. Read what Harry wrote. Lauren has always been a bitch on wheels….never satisfied…always preying on other men…..deep down she still is, albeit her serene facade. My grandmother loves to say…” A wolf changes the color of its fur, but not its habit”. Please understand that much of what I write is dictated to me by her….at 75, she is definitely an older ‘gal’….and, she’s gorgeous!!!!!
I once said that Lauren looks like the original Barbie, who is how old now? Lauren is stuck in the 80’s. She is a floozy….
So, please do not put words in my and su’s mouths, Rose….with all due respect.
If Someone like this character were caught walking in the streets of the Hamptons, she would be laughed off the island.
I also said that TPTB should modify her style of dress (I love her wardrobe, but not age appropriate…look at Phyllis; now, that’s Style, with a capital S). Perhaps this is how the soap gods want her to look. When an older woman dresses without giving her age a thought, she cannot expect any respect.

Lauren can be Lauren but in this case I guess the problem is Cane is married. Cane is the scumbag here. He is married with children. Michael pimping out Lauren only hurts Lauren at this point and as we all have agreed on is she is and probably always will be a tramp. I will say this and you girls can ALL attack me but I think Lauren looks good for being 52. I’m sure she has had work and I cannot tell if she has a wig or extensions BUT I would think that any women would want to look that solid at that age? LET THE BEATINGS BEGIN!

Rose, I think Su00iss referring to the hair extensions. And Su000? You should have seen Lauren in the 80’s–she had a mullet!
Now that I have trashed the character (underlining character) of Lauren, I want to say I really think the actress looks amazing and she has been pulling in some incredible performances as of late. I like the actress, hate the character.

Lauren strikes me as a woman who, even when she enters her 6th or even
7th decade, will still be chasing younger guys, and still be wearing inappropriate
clothes, (way too tight for one thing), and still have that same hairstyle, if one
could call it a style! Her hair has needed a makeover for so long now, it is
ridiculous. Tracey is pretty…she shouldnt have to look this way.

@Nanci.
Thank-you!!!!!!
Exactly what I try to impart. Lauren’s brain has not evolved since her teen years….no class.

Lol, Timmm. I, for one, will not be ‘beating’ on you because I agree. Tracey is beautiful…always was. Plastic surgery or not, no one can naysay that.
However, regardless of the fact that she looks great for her age (as my mother, but naturally) , Lauren is still middle aged and should dress accordingly…with class. There is no reason for her to look trashy. She shouldn’t have to….that is my point. Her hair has not met the 21st Century yet. She needs to get rid of those banana curls hanging down on either side of her bosoms.

Lol, CeeCee, Lauren and her banana curls.
Whenever Lauren comes on, I just get an urge
to grab a pair of scissors and cut them off.
And she actually would look cute and younger
with a short cut.
Sharon, too.

Rose, I hope you see this. Yes, despite all my criticism of the character, I think Lauren (TB) looks just great. By all accounts Tracy Bergman works her ass off (literally) to get that body. I do believe if you’ve got it, flaunt it and Tracy still has it.
Yes, the hair extensions are a bit much but honestly, if a woman who looked like Lauren walked into a bar full of men of all ages, they would also be salivating over her.
I think my main bone of contention with this character is that the development has been somewhat stagnant. Where is Lauren’s sense of sisterhood-is-powerful? She should not be confiding and seeking emotional consolation from Cane after Michael’s rather brutal send off. No, she should be seeking that type of consolation from her sister, Jill. Or from a therapist. And if she must turn to Cane, she needs to turn to his wife, Lily oo–include her!. I cannot stand Lily of the Valley Girls, however, had Lauren sought consolation from BOTH Cane and Lily, there would be no problem. For all her faults, Lily can be loving and empathic but she needs to be included, not excluded. Because once Lily is excluded and she thinks someone is lying to her, she goes bat shit cray-cray. And of course Cane needed to set some boundaries with Lauren.
In short, my problem with Lauren has always been that she views other women as sources of competition. Lauren is a man’s woman and is throw back to Mae West in her older days.

@Timmm.
Kudos to you, Timmm. I respect and admire the way you think. If men and women, in general, would think about their kids before thinking of their body parts, there would be less divorces and less heartaches.
I think we all ask our spouses if they would ever cheat on us. When I asked my husband; his response was ….he would never, not only out of love and respect for me, but also for our children….he would never hurt them that way. This is why my eyes latched on your words, Timmm. You basically said the same thing.
What irks me is the fact that Lily is retaliating in kind. So immature. She is doing the same thing….they all seem to do that. Who are they hurting, really? The kids.

@Rose.
Actually, Rose. Lauren’s wardrobe is haute couture….that’s her business. The problem is that the style is more suited to a younger person. Some of my clothing is similar (depending on where I am going or where I am), but I’m 29. Big difference!!!!
The other issue is the way clothes fit. The line and look of an outfit depends on the fit….On Lauren? Everything looks trashy….my opinion.

Number one soap!! Ha ha that’s a joke on itself! Check the comments on that one pls!!

YES I WANT SHARON TO BE PREGNANT AGAIN,

I’ll be watching!

Glad for Jack to be back finally!
Sharon pregnant? Not a storyline I would care about,
and really? Nick and Sharon both having new babies
with other people so soon after breaking up?
Poor Faith, how confusing for her.

Sharon will not be pregnant ..
She will pretend to be pregnant because in her mind it is the way to be as Sage and Nick..
Sage is pregnant with Nick’s baby then Sharon will make sure to pretend she is also pregnant with Dylan’s baby..
Sharon is not right in the head, and she will lie her ass off on this one .. lol
She will for sure fake her pregnancy ..
then when the time is right she will fake a miscarriage..

Well, I kind of like the idea of Sharon having a baby with Dylan. I like seeing her act like sane and selfless woman.
She lost her little girl and Dylan lost the baby he was to have with Avery.
I see these two as the walking wounded and think they bring out the best in each other.
I hope Sharon does have his baby and please, please, please….no miscarriages or who is the daddy? storylines. No one wants to see that–no one.

You’re probably right su0000…I just continue to scratch my head over all that’s going on on Y&R right now. The truth about it is really it still keeps me interested so you can’t fault them for not entertaining. The problem will come in the months and year ahead as CP runs out of ideas and just starts writing whatever comes to mind..so far he hasn’t managed to alienate too many viewers..but sadly too say it won’t be long before he does..LOL..IJS

You may be right, su…you mostly are. But, Sage is carrying Adam’s baby….Mark my words. If I am wrong, then this show does not follow soapy protocol. LOL.

PS, and LOL.
I can see you liking Marco. With Jack, your emotions were not piqued. He is blah. But with Marco, he stirs hate into you. At least you’re feeling something, right? I get it!!!!
I loved Joe since he stepped onto the Y&R stage. He is the spitting image of my husband. Of course, my husband is much younger with more hair….he is as tall and with same built.
I am yet to figure out if he’s a good guy or not. I think the writers are twisting the story to make it look as if Avery left the coop and became involved with brick-wall Dylan because of domestic abuse. I don’t buy it for one minute. This potential storyline is a last-minute, fabricated excuse to ease Jessica’s exit leaving Joe as the scapegoat. So bloody obvious!!!!!

Awww, Dullan Jr.

Two babies sounds to me like some terrible baby switch storyline in the making. Sharon will probably miscarry and then kidnap Sage’s baby or the other way around. Because heaven forbid someone can tell one person’s face from another, infant or adult in the soap world.

Ohhhhh. Great idea, Ashleigh!!! I like that.

I am afraid that Sharon will have an hysterical pregnancy.
And no, I don’t mean she will be hilarious.

Seriously, Fait will be one messed up teenager!! They should Age her soon

Scott Elrod : is being severely wasted: I hope he is not … let go, because, Avery is done

I don’t see any magic between Joe and Lilly.. isn’t she a wasted air time…

Joe should be with Ashley… give Victoria and Stitch a breath of fresh air

Patrick, please, my friend. God forbid!!!! Ashley is OLD. Not another mother-son-type of relationship. Lately Eileen is really showing her age.
I agree with you about Lily, but she has been part of the Y&R family for too long…I would miss her, albeit my dislike, I do tolerate her. Furthermore, you speak the truth….she is not Joe’s type….he needs a sexy, femme fatale who will confound his senses. …no plain Jane.
Stitch, on the other hand, is the one with wasted air time, as is Abby. They need to go….recast Abby and boot-kick Stitch out the door….get me a new Billy also, if you can PTB!!!!
Victoria is becoming a shrew. She is the one who wanted to be free….yet, the idea of Ben and Abby together bothers her…well, it bothers me too, but I am not part of the soap…LOL. If I were? I’d kick everybody’s ass….and start fresh.

Ashley and Michael? I hate Stitch and wish he would end up dead in a closet in the Abbott cabin! He is ugly and cannot act a lick! Now my Abby Poo, keep her, she is beautiful and can act if given the right material. Separate her from the Scooby Doobie Do clan! I kind have warmed up to NuBilly finally. NuPhyllis is a good actress but she doesnt mesh well with anyone. My two cents my dear.

I wanted Ashley paired up Tristan Rogers (Colin). I think they would have made a dashing couple.
By the way, where is Colin? Where is Jill?

I think Avery will die or go missing and Joe is just a red herring in this whole mystery. I think he will be up on some kind of charges and Lilly will be by his side. I think Ian Ward will have something to do with Avery’s demise. Then Lauren and Cane will have their fling and Michael will either find a new love or be off camera for a while?

This actually sounds interesting but if I have to suffer through any more doppelganger storylines I might fly to CBS studios and spit of JFP and her evil minions.

Jack better not he pissed at Phyllis for not recognizing him since he couldn’t tell Emily from psycho Patty. He should hug her and tell her he’s been there there and done that and totally understands. Hahahahah

Bill Bells Phyllis would have known instantly that something was wrong with Jack I hate how Pratt is writing this character.

Hi k/kay.
Where the heck have you been?????? Glad to have you back!!
What we see before us is not Phyllis. Her personality has completely changed. Yes, gina is not Michelle, however, we should see some semblance of what made Phyllis tick!! Gina is also not age appropriate for The a Jack character. This has been my contention, among other posters, that no two people are exactly alike. My twin and I are identical…yet, not exactly the same. There are certain nuances, not to strangers, that close relatives and friends can separate us.
So, for Phyllis, his most intimate ‘buddy’ , in all ways, cannot see or sense this is not her husband?

I wish I would have been watching then. BB sounds amazing. I honestly can’t imagine a writer that nobody has anything bad to say about! I’ve really never heard a bad word spoken about BB ever.

Your right. She should have known ANY difference BUT Jack should treat her with kid glove care because she is basically being raped!

Good point. Gross! I hadn’t lookee at it that way. Ugh!!!!

I can’t wait to get the Jack stuff over with. I hope Sharon has a baby by Dylan

Sharon is too cray cray to produce children..
Faith when in her teens is going to be mental terror..
Sharon has a hidden evil..
She will destroy Dylon..
She will pretend to be pregnant and then have need to fake a miscarriage,,
Poor Dylan will find out he fell for an evil cray cray witch and he will be destroyed from Sharon’s games attempting to get Nick back..

Dylan should nail a cross on Sharon’s head and save himself !!!

On. No, Su. Poor Sharon. Mental illness is a delicate matter. Unfortunately, the writers made a mockery of it . This very serious and delicate disease should have been handled like a newborn….and, with kid-gloves.
The same mockery was displayed with Patty, remember? Jack treated her beastly and shabbily …cheating on her and forgetting she even existed. Jack married Patty, not out of love, but because he could….no love, whatsoever. Jack has always been a snake.
So, as far as I am concerned, Sharon’s mental state is the result of the evil done upon her by the Newmans. By the same token, Jack is responsible for whatever befell Patty.
Nikki ( the stripper) always with that stupid, weird nose up in the air looking down on Sharon….meanwhile, not once did I see a halo surrounding these high and mighty nouveaux riches’ heads.
Sharon is not evil…disturbed, maybe. But, if Dylan really loves her? Then, he’s her best medicine, albeit the fact that I can’t stand him…that’s all. Just my two cents.

Totally agree!!!

Lily is one rabid pit bull, she should go and the sooner the better.

Both Lilly and Phyllis need to calm down..
They need to light up the bong and relax !
ehh the whole of Y&R need to get stoned !

OMG. What would you recommend, su? Whiskey or rye? LOL
I think the whole lot is already stoned….including the writers. They must be smokin’ something because this show is going to pot.

As soon as I heard Sharon could be pregnant all I could think I better to stock up now on the Pepto Bismol if I am going to stomach this story–

Mary…oh my gosh…you made me laugh so hard! That is hilarious!!!!

Oh my poor show how the mighty have fallen however just when I tried to quit it totally they pulled me back in! Pratt should be building on characters to lead this show not writing silly stories for two older gentlemen Jack & Victor to fight like silly school boys. Do we really need another baby switch story think Sage & Sharon. Every woman on this show is unstable and I am sorry but the character of Noah should be leading the story for the younger crowd .

I like Pratt..
I like plots more so than boring couples.
(I believe Y&R has gained viewers since Pratt’s arrival)

k/kay– good to hear from you- it’s been a while– often when I am watching Y&R now, shaking my head in disbelief that this show could get any worse than it was, I wonder what k/kay would think of this, if she was still watching–now I know.

Pratt thinks he is being so creative, but honestly I find most his stories so far just rehashed MAB plots. Under her reign we had Victor make Patty look like Jack’s girlfriend, and now he found a Jack look a like, she had Adam steal Sharon’s baby, and it looks like Sharon will follow suit by stealing Sage’s to passes it off as hers– of course she will be off her meds when she does it, this is new excuse for writing Sharon off the rails. She was once a heroine, so I don’t know how Ms. Case comes to work every morning to play her anymore.

And of course when I heard they asked Pratt to tone down the exit story for Avery it reminded me of the dying years of Another World when they killed Frankie– I don’t think the future bodes well for Y&R– of course as I said before I will stick with it until its dying day, but I haven’t really enjoy much of it lately. Even during MAB I found things I still like, but not now. Thanks for letting me vent– and welcome back.

I know they say they write these storylines months ahead, but I’ve noticed tit-for-tat similarities on a couple of big stories between Y&R and GH….Jake/Jason and Adam/Gabriel…Jack/Marco and Luke/Fluke.

GH was first but second in the ratings.

michael should ve set up lauren with joe.
cane isnt much more moral than joe, but joe is defintley single and much hotter
joe and ashley, ashley desperatly needs a young love intrest as she s still as gorgeous as ever
too bad avery s leaving i was actually rooting for them until pratt the hack killed that story because jack acting like a young stud with two crazy ho s fighting over him and tied up is sooo exciting!!!! omg…
better yet bring back nina in the chancellor mansion to squabble with jill who s been brutally m.i.a and have her hook up and get played by joe! anything to keep that beautiful creature on our screens….
…and please after this distarous jack and vic crap is done, put them on vackay for a while. or better yet fianlly throw teflon newman in jail and send jack to visit the jabot factory in siberia! yeesh…

Joe is too young for Lauren, damien. Then again, considering her eternal itching, she likes them young. Good call.

Lauren is Cougar,,
Nothing wrong with her being a Cougar but that gawdawful hair on her head could kill the sexy Cougar thing..

I dont miss Nina or any of her cohorts. And I must say, Jill and Colin have been off screen for months and I dont miss them either! Mr. Pratt needs to reinvent the Chancelors and it starts with the original Tucker coming back and taking over the estate.

Chuck Pratt needs to go!

Brett, the problem is this, Y&R is still number one and probably has gained viewers? Until the ratings dip I dont see any changes. Plus, as others have pointed out, running a soap and head writing a soap is a unique skill and there are not a lot of people qualified. However, I am not opposed to giving a young gun the controls and seeing what happens. We all have excellent ideas on this site. Why cant someone new take over the soap and put a 21st century spin on Genoa City?

Now, we’re talking, Timmm.!!!!!

Chuck Pratt needs to go – this crud has become increasingly hard to watch and stomach!

I certainly can’t be the only one here who can taste the bile!!

I WANT MY SHOW BACK!!!

You mist definitely are not alone Bart!!! I used to be an avid watcher, and at first I thought Pratt did a good job andbshaking things up a little bit. But everyday there is some sort of “twist”. It’s overwhelming ans too much. I don’t keep up with it the way I used to. Y & R was once my favorite soap. Surprisingly, I watch GH like clockwork now.

I love the Two Jacks and now were seeing why. Jack and Marco could hate each other? Could work together to shave the Mustache? Citizens will watch both not knowing whose who. I love it! I am hoping in the end Jack falls for Marisa and Marco kills Summer! That will piss off Victor and elate the fans on this site!

Echoing the sentiment that Pratt needs to go.

Just because a show isn’t “boring” doesn’t mean it’s good.

A lot of folks have defended GH in that way for years when Ron/Frank came on board. And now a lot of those same people can stand what they are seeing.

YR is in that same situation. Yes, we have action. Yes, we have fast moving stories. But the show is not recognizable this way.

The only positive is that the veteran actors are still there for now.

I like Pratt ..
and-
He will remain with Y&R as long as the fans remain, and they do and will..
It is the fans fault for watching Y&R when they near hate watching it..
You peoples are keeping Pratt in as head-writer..
Even the fans who watch but FF through 80% of an episode are counted as a happy watcher because who would watch if they didn’t like it… eh

I think a storyline w Sharon expecting has ALOT of potential IF it is told the right way. Many people w mental illnesses stop taking their medications while expecting. Sharon Case is a great actress and she would do a good job with that. I also think that Sage’s baby is Adam’s which will have Nick left alone eventually again and I think he will make some type of caveman attempt to decide (ONCE AGAIN) that he wants his original family back. THIS time I hope Sharon is strong enough to say NO and stick w Dylan.

Sharon is too old to be pregnant – she will be faking it just to hold onto dull Dylan.

**YAWN** – this has been before ad nauseum!!

Sharon IS NOT too old to be pregnant. She is not much older than Victoria who just had a baby.
And let’s not forget Olivia/Lisa ( GH) who is older than Sharon and had a baby in real life.
Sharon is a long way from being too old to bear a child.
But, I do agree that it would be a big mistake and very repetitious. Using babies in this fashion to ‘repair’ a situation or prove something is sinful and shameful….been there, done that.

I think she seems a bit old for another pregnancy, too.
Not that it’s impossible, of course. But she has kids in
their twenties now, and she is unstable, and this story
has been done. Just seems tired.
I want less airtime for Sharon, and more for characters
like Mariah, Noah, etc.

I love the idea of Joe and Lily!!! That pairing is more believable and way sexier than Lauren and Cane! If you going to screw up the relationship with Lily and Cane you better give her some good loving from that gorgeous and sexy thing called JOE!!!! I’m so over the Sharon thing. I feel the same way about SC as some feel CK.

as some feel “about” CK

Sharon is 16 years older than Christel…no comparison, really. Mother-daughter, sort of.
Joe is definitely a stud. In comparison, Cain(sp) does not have a sexy bone in his body. JMO.
I have never found him as anything but an average Joe…no puns intended.
Then again, there’s quite an age difference between Joe and Lily, as well.

Actually in the world of soaps I think the idea of Joe and Lilly is a good one, and not just because of the “attraction.” They have the personalities to really stir it up in GC. And who knows, they might actually get to like each other.

I also think that Joe and Victoria would work. Just a thought. I really don’t want her to go there with Billy…or with Stitch again…ugh!!

YR suffers from the same ailment as GH. All these dumb secrets that they can’t seem to reveal! By the time they get to it, I probably won’t care anymore.

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).

On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.

Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT

Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”

Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”

Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES

In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”

Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

Patrick J. Gibbons

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.

So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.
