Y&R’s Jess Walton On Why Mamie Irks Jill As Feud Reignites: “It’s Mamie’s Arrogance and How Much She Enjoyed Stepping on Jill’s Toes All These Years”

On recent episodes of The Young and the Restless, viewers learned that Mamie Johnson (Veronica Redd) is back and is actually the new secret investor in Chancellor-Winters.
Mamie told Nate (Sean Dominic) that she is looking forward to watching Jill’s (Jess Walton) head explode when it is finally revealed. Those remarks date back to Jill and Mamie’s longstanding feud and history; when Mamie was the Abbott family housekeeper, and both women had relationships with the late John Abbott (Jerry Douglas).
This current story will feature Jess Walton in an arc that pits her against Veronica Redd, and should delight longtime Y&R viewers who have loved the often catty remarks and fireworks between Jill and Mamie.

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, Jess Walton spoke about why Jill has such an issue with Mamie. The Daytime Emmy-winning star expressed, “It’s Mamie’s arrogance and how much she enjoyed stepping on Jill’s toes all of these years. Mamie had always been judging Jill who in turn just hated the influence Mamie had with John. When Jill was married to him, she never felt welcome in her own home.”

Walton went on to say on this new storyline development: “As far as she (Jill) is concerned that disrespect is continuing because Mamie bought into Chancellor-Winters without letting Jill know.”
Y&R fans can look forward to more of Jess on-screen in the next few months as she informed SOD, she will be taping scenes in October and November on the top-rated soap opera.

When all is said and done, Jess shared that her Genoa City alter-ego is very clear on just how Mamie gets under her skin: “Mamie was always so damn sanctimonious and hollier-than-thou and that always pissed Jill off. Mamie still knows how to really push Jill’s buttons.”
Check out the flashback scenes below featuring Veronica Redd and Jess Walton that were part of this week’s episodes of Y&R; where Mamie is revealed to be a now major investor in Chancellor-Winters.
Now let us know, are you looking forward to seeing the sparks fly between Jill and Mamie in the coming weeks? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
Oh, no. She’s baa-ack!! Jack and Jill ( LOL) are both baddies. But, the writers are re-addressing their fetid personas. —they have both developed angelic wings—-and that thing Jack does with his mouth when “triggered” drives me up the wall.
This , my favorite show, has turned weird. Ashley suddenly develops a split personality. Sharon thinks she’s sixteen and competes with someone half her age ( Summer)—-these writers have the mind of an ameba.
At least, Tucker doesn’t hide his true colors.
It was good the vidio was posted I had no idea who Mamie is and revealed to be the major investor ..
And- she is not a ”major” investor–Devon says the buyer would hold so little stock that it wouldn;t make any difference, something as that.. Nothing to worry about..
I loved seeing Mamie! Can’t wait to see Jill!
OMG, these two old crones again? Wasn’t all those years of animosity, jealousy and anything else we can think of enough?
Oh no, these two old bats at each other’s throats again, wasn’t once enough?. I can’t stand either one of them, with such high opinions of themselves, especially Jill who is probably still draining money from Fenmores just because she happened to be the illegitimate baby of Lauren’s dad and has never been shown to contribute anything to the company as Lauren has all these years.
This is AWESOME!
I love Jill and am delighted we will see more of her. Mamie, on the other hand, I never liked – for the exact same reasons as Jill LOL. Arrogant, sanctimonious, holier-than-thou. I hope her return is a short one.
I’m with you. She seems to be just an old trouble maker trying to spice up her boring life by using her money to interfere with Devon and lily’s Co., while also trying to get them to take back that traitorous Nate.
Hey, Violet—what are the chances Mamie slept with John and has a child? I have been watching since grade school, but when that young—well, you know —much went over my head. Mamie just gives me the creeps—Halloween, y’all.
Celia
Good idea but he’d have to be up there in age, almost Jack or Billy’s age and black. The only one I know that fits that bill is Nate and I remember when he was a kid. All the spoilers I read says that Drucilla is coming back and I can’t stand the actress or her character. She’s so in love with herself, makes ne sick. Mamie was a sweet, kind , loving woman to the Abbots as well as her own family. I don’t care for this old shrew they’ve turned her into now, altogether different than she used to be. Sending a hoot or two your way.
We’re supposed to believe that Mamie went from being a maid for 20+ years to a business mogul? Please…. How stupid do you think the Y&R followers for over 20+ years are supposed to be!
Well, Mamie accepted a very large amount of money from Jill years ago when she was married to John to leave the Abbott home because Jill knew that Mamie had a thing for John . She probably started investing that money which has built up over the years , starting her own business, providing her with a good income.
So, everybody is a business tycoon now, even the ex housekeeper. And these flashbacks are so annoying. Guess the writers can’t think of that much to say, so wasting time with them. Y&R is just so confusing now and stories are not moving forward so I think it’s time for me to move on

B&B’s Katherine Kelly Lang Weighs-In On Hope’s New Attitude: “Brooke is Starting to be Like, ‘Uh-oh! She’s Taking After Me!’ ”

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) has been not pleased with her daughter Hope’s (Annika Noelle) choice in bedfellows! After all, Brooke and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) have a long history of disdain for each other (although there was that time they took psychedelic berries together and pranced around with not much clothes on).
Hope had divorced Liam (Scott Clifton) and has been getting much closer to Thomas, feeling he is the only man who ‘gets her’ and ‘sees her’ for who she really is. On recent episodes of B&B, Hope has no problem giving into her desires for Thomas, now that she is no longer Hope Spencer.
Soap Opera Digest spoke with series iconic star, Katherine Kelly Lang to get her take on what she thinks of Hope’s attitude adjustment and recent behavior.

Photo: JPI
Lang expressed: “She seems to have changed a bit. She’s not the sweet little Hope that she once was and Brooke is starting to be like, ‘Uh-oh! She’s taking after me!’’
Brooke is not happy that Thomas has apparently won over Hope, when she is wary of the guy. Katherine added, “Thomas was stalking her (Hope) and he did all that crazy stuff with the baby. He just hasn’t been good for her, you know, especially when he was totally obsessed with her. So, Brooke doesn’t believe that that’s completely gone, that there’s still got to be some of that in Thomas somewhere and she’s worried about her daughter. So, of course, she would kind of say, ‘This is not good. This is just not a good situation. With all the men in the sea, why, why do you (pick Thomas)?”

Photo: JPI
However, many might see that as the pot calling the kettle black given how Brooke has often given into her desires with the men in her life and made some pretty bad choices herself!
So, is Hope turning into a ‘mini-Brooke’? Should Brooke continue to warn Hope of Thomas’ past, or should she just mind her own business at this point? Share your comments via the comment section.
