Recently on The Young and the Restless, viewers got their first glimpses of soap vet, Valarie Pettiford in the role of Amy Lewis. The role was formerly played by Stephanie E. Williams. In story, Amy comes back to Genoa City and reveals that she had a child with Nate’s father, Nate Sr. and that he has a half-brother out there.

The question, becomes who is going to play the half-brother? Where has he been … and when is he going to show up in Genoa City? Now, Y&R’s executive producer, and head writer, Josh Griffith previewed the upcoming love lives and stories for many key residents of the town with Soap Opera Digest.

Griffith indicated that he wanted to expand the Winters/Hastings clan and from the sounds of it, Josh is almost ready for Nate’s half-brother to appear on-screen, when he expressed, “It’s going to be a very interesting dynamic to bring in this man who has no idea that Nathan was his father and that Nate is his brother.”

However, in the most telling comments, Josh admitted on the new characters hotness, “I can guarantee you that the brother is very handsome – and there’s a double handsome whammy twist coming your way.” So, wait! Is Josh saying that perhaps Sean Dominic will play a dual role? Is someone else going to play a dual role? Are there more Hastings than just one other brother, out there?

Sean Dominic took over the role of Nate Hastings Jr. back in 2019 from his predecessor Brooks Darnell and is the sixth actor to play the part. During Y&R’s 13,000th episode celebration, Sean spoke to Michael Fairman TV about recent scenes with Valarie Pettiford, sharing, “I love working with her. Absolutely! Wait till you see these scenes (coming up). She makes me look amazing as an actor. That’s all I can say.”

So, what do you think Josh Griffith meant, when he said, “There’s a double handsome whammy twist coming your way?” Who is going to play Nate’s half-brother? Let us know your theories via the comment section and check out our chat it with Sean Dominic from the Y&R 13K red carpet celebration, and next week’s preview from Y&R where Amy asks Nate, if he is ready to meet his brother, below.

Really looking forward to this storyline. I feel like Sean has been on the back burner and can’t wait to see more of him!! He is a great actor and feels like he might have a dual role coming up!!

He’s terribly the worst ! We go g need a double of him any time !

No he’s not ! We don’t need a double of him any time !

Amber tou can replace Sean at the same time when the secret brother appears!

AGREE, PLEASE, PLEASE, NOT another double!!!!!!

Can’t say I’m esp interested in this. I haven’t liked Nate since he was a doctor – although he’s not as awful as he was when he was plotting at Chancellor Ind.

As for expanding this family, it seems odd to me that no sooner have Devon & Abby got married, Meliss Ordway is off contract.

Get rid of Ian and Jordan. Going too far and getting stupid again. Been watching this a long time. My 46 yo daughter is Named Nikki. Can’t listen to Sharon issues anymore, that went too far also. Kyle get out of your own head. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE RANCH BROUGHT BACK! Saved that episode. Need fresh love affairs. Too many affairs within same circle.

You’re absolutely right I’m getting tired of watching Y& R same old same old it’s getting boring. Why bring back two villains?

Like B&B same ole same ole

Stop watching then

The ranch has way too much going on. Half of the flowers and art needs to go!

Same with the Abbott house. Don’t know how they squeeze through in some spots lol

I agree

Victor needs to come to Jesus moment! He’s been evil and manipulative for far too long! Sharon’s storyline is really bad.

Thank you tired of him always landing on top time to take sweet Vic Willie down a peg or to

Looks old fashion

I agree – Jordan and Ian and Sharon’s memory loss, dual personality are killing thus soap. Been watching since this was a 15 minute soap, along with Search for Tomorrow. These storyline are really repetitive and boring. Time for Nick to have a leading lady not Sharon, and dead folks need to stay dead !!

Totally agree. Hate these reruns if Ian and Jordan. Sick of Sharon and her uninteresting drama. Ugh! Get Nick a hottie, tame Victor, he’s gone too far with Jack revenge. Let’s just see some normal and believable

lives with characters we love

Please dont bring anyone else for Nick please let him and Sharon have another chance at love. They looks so good together. I been a fan for years so is my 100 year old mother we watch the show everyday together. Team Nick and Sharon!!

Oh please !! One Nate is enuf. ! Can’t stand his character !!!

No more Nate ! One of him is more than enuf !!

Griffith is so good at plot twist. So maybe Sean is her son, switched at birth & the other bro knows. Elena s back, she could tie in2 the sl.

No way!! Don’t wanna see that bitch again!!!

Not possible to be switched at birth since they are at least half a decade apart. But I agree about Elena. I think she will some how be involved.

Cannot wait for the new shenanigans to begin…Bring it on!

Yes. Bring on a dual role if for nothing else to listen to these whiners complain. Sean is easy on the eyes and can act . I’m enjoying all the storylines on Y&R . Been watching since its debut in 1973.

No interest anymore after 40 plus years of watching, Griffith needs to go as his storylines are mundane. Repeat after repeat and carry on way too long, letting good actors/actresses go and bringing back stupid ones are not exactly very interesting
JMO

I feel the same way. Enough is enough❗️The last time Nicki got drunk was silly and I haven’t watched since❗️
I think soaps are absolutely worn out. There are no new plots that can be introduced ❗️
The over and over stuff should be over❗️

IF you are such a worn out soap hater why commenting on a soap opera site?

We don’t want any looks like. Let others work, new faces needed. Why aren’t there real black young women on these shows on a regular basis? Tired of the basically all white, yet want us to keep watching.

At the same time, it’s LA, where’s the Mexican Americans?? Watched since it began!

It’s set in Wisconsin.

Denzel Washington should play the brother.

I don’t care about Nate he’s not that important. I was hoping that Phylis would either die or have brain damage so sever to render her useless. She is so annoying I can’t stand her.

I love Sean Dominic! Bring it on!

I think they are trying to relive the Winters brothers. Neil and Malcolm.
The Hastings brothers got work to do. Please let the brother of Nathan be just has handsome as Malcolm ❤️. Let the storyline be just as great.

CAKE FIGHTS AND CORPORATE INTRIGUE

The book description for The Young and the Rest of Us adds,  “In June 1987, Jess Walton walked through the artists’ entrance at CBS for her first day on The Young and the Restless, where she had just been hired to play the recast role of Jill AbbottTwo Emmy awards, four decades, and countless onscreen affairs, marriages, corporate takeovers, and cake fights later, she’s a beloved icon with an astonishing tale to tell.”

“In her refreshingly candid style, Jess shares her journey as a young actress from Toronto theaters to Los Angeles, where she found herself at the center of a Laurel Canyon circle that included the likes of Neil Young, David Geffen, Laura Nyro, and Joni Mitchell. Landing a Universal contract and a steady stream of guest starring roles, Jess embraced everything 1970s L.A. had to offer—including Hollywood parties fueled by limitless booze and drugs, and trysts with stars. She recounts with candor and gratitude the surprising path that eventually led her to sobriety, true love—and ultimately, to fictional Genoa City, Wisconsin, and the role of a lifetime.”

“Brimming with behind-the-scenes drama and celebrity cameos to delight fans, The Young and the Rest of Us is also rich in personal, relatable truths about marriage, motherhood, empty-nesting, self-discovery, and finding the courage to start over—as often as it takes. In a voice as fearless and frank as Jill’s, but with, humor and grace all her own, Jess Walton looks back on a life as unpredictable, and adventure filled as anything she has portrayed on screen.”

WHO ELSE PLAYED JILL FOSER ABBOTT?

Fans of The Young and the Restless know that Walton became the fourth actress to take on the role of Katherine Chancellor’s original nemesis Jill Foster back in 1987. The OG Jill was played by Brenda Dickson, also Deborah Adair, Bond Gideon and Melinda O. Fee played the part.

This year, Days of our Lives star Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) filled-in for several episodes for Walton who was unavailable to travel from her home in Oregon to Los Angeles where Y&R was taped. Walton is still with the long-running soap opera as Jill.

So, excited to learn of Jess Walton’s upcoming memoir, ‘The Young and the Rest of Us?’ Will it be it a must-read for you? Drop a comment below.
