Y&R’s Melody Thomas Scott Shares on Nikki’s Living Nightmare: “You’ll See That the Terror Has Been Intensified. The Threats of Jordan Are Not Over, By Any Means.”
The Young and the Restless has been delivering high drama when it comes to the story of Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk), Claire (Hayley Erin) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).
After one of the most heinous moves against a beloved character in recent memory, Nikki was sedated and then hooked up to an IV filled with booze, which has sent this alcoholic, back to the bottle.
Meanwhile, viewers saw last Friday that Claire stood up to Jordan when she visited the psychotic Aunt in prison. At the end of the conversation, Jordan told Claire she chose the wrong side, meaning that she will be coming back after all the Newmans shortly. The soap opera’s iconic star, Melody Thomas Scott spoke with Canada’s Global TV on her current storyline, and revealed she is so glad the storyline didn’t end in short oder.

Thomas Scott said, “I would have been so disappointed if the story had been over when the Newmans walked out of that lake house. Blessedly, no, it is not! In the next few weeks, you’ll see that the terror has been intensified. The threats of Jordan are not over, by any means.”
As it turns out, Melody was made aware of the dark turn of Nikki’s ‘assistant’ Claire shortly before the twist came about. Thomas Scott reveals, she was told someone would be terrorizing her character in a storyline reminiscent of Barbara Stanwyck’s Sorry, Wrong Number or a Hitchcock film.

In that film’s plot, Mrs. Stevenson (Stanwyck), an imperious invalid, accidentally intercepts a phone call between two men plotting a murder for that evening. She tries to enlist the help of the telephone operator, the police, and a hospital, becoming more frantic as the time passes. In the final moments of the play, she realizes that she is the intended victim.
Working with her newest scene partners, Hayley Erin and Colleen Zenk, has been a ‘dream’ for Scott,as she expressed, “I can’t say enough good things about either one of them.”
So, what do you think Jordan will do next to Nikki and her family? Are you enjoying Nikki being back on the bottle, or do you hope she is able to conquer her demons soon? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
No I don’t like the story line of Nikki being a drunk again. Don’t like Jordan at all either.
Nope, I agree. Poorly conceived, hasn’t goosed the ratings as it turns out either. If they were looking for this story line to jump start the ratings, they guessed wrong again.
Love Melody and Coleen, Claire too. Best SL we’ve had in a long time, thanks to the talent of these three women. Too bad more people don’t appreciate and enjoy all this stuff happening right now, especially with all the corporate drama we’ve been enduring lately. I’m so sick of the Abbots right now with all their woes and the slutty Audra and her bed buddies. You can only watch crap like this for so long.I also like Victoria and Cole stepping up to help their daughter, just wish Nicki and Victor had more compassion for their granddaughter and what kind of life she’s had .i
Enjoying seeing Lauren play into this story too!
Come to think of it would also love maybe through Lauren if Christine found out and she flips out remembering how Nikki caused her to miss carry her pregnancy years ago in that car crash
Hi Violet 🙂 hope all in your world is healthy and happy…
You won’t agree with me and that’s perfectly fine big hug anyway lol.
— Clair is not Cole/Vicitoria’s daughter- wait for it..
Nonetheless, the acting is top-notch and I am enjoying the story..
I agree, the Abbotts have become cringeworthy and the story should be thrown out the window.
SuOOO
Hey, hope you are enjoying the New Year so far. How did you get your info about Claire, I’ve not read any thing saying that.
I’m sick of Nikki always being thrown back on the bottle. Lots of alcoholics beat this addiction, why not Nikki?
Thank the head writer
I don’t like this storyline at all and I hope it ends soon
Just read that Jordan is returning. Wasn’t once enough. Love the actress but the SL was just too much. Bad enough with Sharon dealing with that crazy Cameron, even if it is in her mind. I just have to FF, I’m losing half the show soon.

Soap Alums Remembered During In Memoriam Segment at 78th Emmy Awards; Patrick Muldoon Omitted

During last night’s 78th annual Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, as it does every year, the television academy paid tribute to those in the industry that they’ve lost over the last year; since the previous Emmys held each year in September.
Starting with an emotional tribute to the late Catherine O’Hara by three of her co-stars, Schitt’s Creek’s Annie Murphy and Dan Levy and Home Alone’s Macaulay Culkin, the segment then dovetailed into Noah Kahan performing “Bridge over Troubled Water” as the faces and the names of those being remembered were shown on the screen.
Daytime soap alums, who either stayed in the genre for the majority of their career, or went on to primetime success as well, were honored including: Anthony Geary (Luke, GH), Hayden Panettiere (Sarah, OLTL, Lizzie, GL, Juliette, Nashville), James Van Der Beek, (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek, and Stephen, ATWT), Gil Gerard (Alan, The Doctors), June Lockhart (Mariah, GH), Patricia Crowley (Mary, Port Charles and GH), Randolph Mantooth (Clay/Alex, Loving and The City, and Richard, GH) and Jon Cypher (Alex, ATWT and Arthur, Santa Barbara).

THOSE HONORED AND THOSE WHO WERE NOT
However, in a glaring omission, the producers of the In Memoriam failed to include Days of our Lives beloved star, Patrick Muldoon who played the OG Austin Reed and also Richard Hart on Melrose Place. Muldoon passed away in April of this year at 57.
After Kahan concluded his performance, a special tribute to Rob Reiner began with Jamie Lee Curtis taking to the stage to share some warm words about her late friend.
In a ironic and sad twist, Curtis shared ,“Last week, Robbie won an Emmy for guest actor in a comedy series for his beautiful work on The Bear, and he now holds the record of 48 years for the longest gap between acting Emmys, which was previously held by his father Carl Reiner, at 37 years.”
Reiner, who along with his wife, Michele Reiner were killed by their son, Nick Reiner, is currently awaiting a decision if he will stand trial. Prosecutors on Tuesday, shared they will not seek the death penalty if he is convicted at trial, but instead life in prison. Curtis said of Rob, “He was generous and kind and funny as hell, and a friend to all. We all miss Rob and Michele and all those we lost this year.” The Emmys then faded to black and went to commercial break.
So, were you happy to see those who you know from their work in soap operas included in the 2026 In Memoriam tribute at the Primetime Emmys? Share your thoughts in the comment section. But first, in case you missed it, you can watch it below.
