Official spoilers and the latest video teaser for The Young and the Restless airing the week of January 26 indicated there are troubling twists and turns for several residents in Genoa City.

First, Billy (Jason Thompson) learns from Sally (Courtney Hope) that after she placed a call to Jill, which he feels is behind his back, she wound up talking to Jill’s brother, Snapper Foster who said that Jill’s health has taken a turn for the worse. Is Sally telling the truth? Is Y&R planning on killing-off the character of Jill Foster Abbott since Jess Walton is not full-time or making regular recurring appearances?

Meanwhile, look for another visit from Ian Ward (Ray Wise) on the January 27 episode of the CBS soap opera when he comes back to haunt Mariah (Camryn Grimes) now in his priest get-up. From what it appears, they are in some hotel room and she is about to try to get to Dominic Winters (Ethan Ray Clark) who will go MIA, turning Devon (Bryton James) and Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) world upside down. Is Ian back in the flesh driving her crazy, or is this all her having an emotional break from reality? If so, where would this leave the future of Mariah?

In addition, Victor’s (Eric Braeden) plan to stick it to Cane (Billy Flynn) is about to be unveiled. Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam (Mark Grossman) are worried he will kidnap Cane’s twins, Charlie and Mattie … and Lily! Would Victor go that far for retribution? Stay tuned.

Check out the official Y&R spoilers for the action this week in Genoa City below.

Monday, January 26
Victor hits Cane where it hurts, Sharon worries about Noah’s future with Sienna, and Victoria steps up to protect her family’s legacy.

Tuesday, January 27
Victor puts Phyllis and Cane on notice, Sally forces Billy’s hand, and Mariah visits her dark side.

Wednesday, January 28
Devon and Abby’s world is turned upside down, Nate comforts Victoria, and Audra receives a tempting offer.

Thursday, January 29
Chelsea reveals a secret to Nikki, Kyle and Claire discuss unfinished business, and Adam has a change of heart.

Friday, January 30
Nick and Sharon hold Phyllis accountable.

Check out the the video tease for what to look for this week on Y&R below.

Now weigh-in: Do you think Mariah will actually kidnap Dominic Winters? Do you think Ian is alive and well, and he will do it, or is this all a big red-herring? How would you feel if Y&R killed-off Jill? Share your thoughts via the comment section below, and in case you missed it, check out the latest Michael Fairman Channel interview with Tamara Braun and Lucas Adams where they preview what’s to come for Sienna and Noah, with Matt (apparently) out of the picture.

If they kill off Jill, the last remaining character from the 1973 debut of Y&R, I am done! What they did to the character of Chance was bad enough, and to kill off Jill would be too much!.

They wont kill her off. Although killing Chance was stupid.

This sounds dreadful and only reaffirms my decision to give up Y&R after watching for over 30 years. I love the actors. It’s the damn writing.

The soap is ruined and JG is horrible ! But hey Stafford still slinging her arms wearing dresses in bloody Wisconsin that are summer you replace Cane ten decades too young Victor 84 stil winning every stupid battle Adam neutered and ten years too young from what the character had been thru can’t cast a Noah because JM can’t stay the horn dog at age 50 if you do have Sharon pouring coffee or playing nuts it goes on and on ! So just bloody cancel and call it a day! And yes old westerns are better than this crap ! We are gone for the winter can’t get local stations do not miss this crap one minute just disgusted when I read it ! So I will wuit

Tell us how you really feel. I don’t watch anymore either. And I’ll proudly wuit with you. What is wuit? No matter. I’m wuiting too.

If I had arms that looked as perfect as Michelle Stafford’s, I show them every chance I got no matter what the season. She is beautiful!
Jill hasn’t been a viable character for quite some time now so I wouldn’t mind if they let her go.

Agree totally and without Katherine Jills impact is blunted. I love Jill tho.

I’m loving the show and Bold and Beautiful. Soaps are about the characters not the dumb stories. I don’t even remember any of the stories and I’ve watched since 1987. The only thing I miss is how beautiful the show was lit and the attention to the look of the show the clothes etc but I can even get past that. Love Michelle Stafford Sharon case and my adorable Joshua morrow.

This is sort of off-topic but does anyone know why Lucas Adams hasn’t been included in the opening credits?

The character of Sally should have been teamed up with Lauren /she was friends with the real Sally would have gave her a base etc but of course we cant use TB and BM the oldie gals who helped put this soap on the map . TB was the original mean girl let her loose quit playing with the second string

Why were Claire and Kyle wearing the same coat today lmao

Just get rid of Mariah. It has dragged on for so long and I am so tired of it.

Time for the character of Mariah to GO. They have butchered her beyond belief. And I LOVE Camryn Grimes. FIRE JOSH GRIFFITH. And I am also sorry but Melissa Ordway is a subpar actress. Abby is the daughter of Ashley Abbott and Victor Newman. Time to get an actress with some chops that’s blonde and gorgeous. And I know Amelia is a daytime vet but she will never be Victoria to me. That will ALWAYS be Heather Tom. But I would not want Heather to come back to this horrid writing. Let her stay at B&B.

I love the way Michelle Stafford plays Phyllis, a woman who does not suffer fools gladly. She is the main reason that I watch the show.

OMG, the end of today’s episode (Friday) had me laughing so hard. When Mariah is driving her car over a completely snow covered road, look through her back window. She had to be going between 60 and 70 mph in that car. I’m like, how is she doing this?? Is she being pulled by reindeer? Is she in a suped up snowmobile???? The production values were TERRIBLE today, making the story so unbelievable…..surprised she didn’t crash that car!!!

YOUNGER GENERATION GETS THE SPOTLIGHT

Speaking on what viewers will see the week of May 18-22,  Sheila Ducksworth, who is also the president of CBS Studios/NAACP Venture, shared to TV Insider, “These episodes are really like nothing that we feel like people have seen before. Yes, there have been cotillions on television before, but the way that we’re doing it, in the milieu in which it’s set, is just incredibly unique. It’s an institution that has existed in Black America for over 100 years, and it really speaks to legacy, it speaks to culture, it speaks to heritage, and also resilience.”

Ducksworth added, “Tune in because there is importance to what we’re saying with the show, but also just the sheer enjoyment of being able to see what one of these cotillions looks like and feels like. I think people will just be beside themselves; we definitely are working for that to be the goal. You’ll see a lot of stuff with the younger set that you haven’t seen before, and a lot of that plays into the cotillion and then beyond the cotillion.”

DANGER, DANCING AND SHOCKERS

However, Julie Carruthers notes that there is another major plot point about to explode, now that Jacob (Jibre Hordges) is close to nabbing Dr. Lia Whitmore (Cecelia Specht) and company for the illegal blood plasma ring.

“We have the culmination of the mystery that Jacob’s  been involved with and I’m not going to tell you much more, but there’s a big event happening the same night as the Cotillion and the Cotillion is also fraught with its own surprises and unexpected disappointments,” teased Carruthers to Soaps.com. “It’s a lot of eventful things happening all at the same time. Amazing clothes, the girls are stunning, the dance is phenomenal. The music’s spectacular. It’s a beautiful, beautiful event.”
