Y&R Preview: ‘Teriah’ Worried That Baby Aria May Be Deaf

This week on The Young and the Restless, Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) become very concerned that something is wrong with their daughter. The two moms begin to notice something is off when a loud thunderclap startles them, but does not rattle the baby.

In a preview for the CBS daytime drama in the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, Tessa also thinks it’s strange that after six months, that their little bundle of joy is not responding to the two moms when they call her by her name, “Aria”.

Camryn Grimes shared: “They’re just hoping their little girl is a heavy sleeper, but you can tell in their faces that the worry is really settling in.” At Sharon’s (Sharon Case) suggestion Teriah decide they should have Aria’s hearing tested, to which Grimes revealed, “This is going to be a tough road for them to navigate. There will be obstacles popping up along the way on a parenting journey that they never anticipated.”

If this proves to be true, and Aria is deaf, might this bring Devon (Bryton James) in to this story with his experience of becoming deaf and receiving a cochlear implant to hear again?

What do you think if the CBS daytime drama series gives the same-sex duo of Mariah and Tessa a baby with a lifelong disability? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Finally. A STORY. And one that features Cam’ron Grimes.

Who wants to watch that?

Not I—too fake. I love Cameron but Tessa? The most superfluous character on Y&R. Plus, whose idea was it to put that outrageous BOW on that cute, little baby? It’s bigger than her head.

They never resolved if Tess got her singing voice back – that storyline lasted about two episodes, when they made her a one time model..

Finally a story that doesn’t include that viper, Audra!

I’m with you, Lew. Crying-worthy. More strange to me is the fact that Victor has no issues with Audra—-Considering she’s doing his granddaughter’s husband—you know??
Then again, Victor’s morals are not so shiny. I get it. LOL.

What hope could there be that this plot plays out for more than 2 episodes in a month’s time? Devon’s involvement seems too sensible to happen.

Certainly seems like a very strong possibility if the baby did not wake from the loud noises they described. Good thing Sharon talked them into having the baby’s hearing tested.

Oh, Violet—the baby’s hearing problem is a good, realistic storyline. I just wish Tessa’s character would be replaced. There is nothing “catchy” or appealing about this so-so actress. Maybe, it’s just moi!!?? There are too many inconsistencies and lousy plots lately..
Asides—Why does Sharon wear minis barely covering her culo? Looks ridiculous on someone her age. Over-the knee would do.
—I wonder if Nikki would be so hell-bent on getting rid of Adam if he were her biological son. Yet, Victoria ( yuck) has free rein?

Hi Celia, agree with your post, except I find the baby story very boring and I agree with your assessment of Sharon’s clothing, also Tessa and Mariah together, blah and boring. Maybe some others might find them cute and loving, whatever.. Also what you said about Victor not having issue with Audra, I think we haven’t heard the other shoe drop. This man and his kids drive me crazy as does his snooty wife, she’s always resented Adam, as he is so much like Victor, but don’t think she sees it. I’ve read how they are going to write Mariah’s pregnancy into the show, how could they do that unless she’s raped?

Yeah—Nikki has always had the puckered lips and nose up in the air like a nouveau-riche peasant. Let’s not forget from whence she hails. LOL.
I agree that the Mariah and family storyline is boring—but the baby’s hearing issue is very real-life problem. However, I have yet to know any doctor who makes house-calls. Unrealistic.
I haven’t read anything on Camryn’s pregnancy as it pertains to the soap yet.
Aside—watching today’s episode with Sharon, Nick, Victor and Adam together in one room? Well, I could only think of one thing—she slept with all three. I have a dirty mind—need to wash my brain out with bleach.

Celia…Aside #3…Since Sharon knew all three of them intimately, and because of her psychological background, you would have thought she would have never tried to put them together on her new business venture and avoid the alpha dog squabbles and betrayals. Not smart from the get-go.

Celia, no dirty mind here, it’s a fact. I didn’t even think of it. Gee, maybe they should have called Chance and got his 2 cents in or whatever Sharon’s worth these days. NOW THAT’S DIRTY!

Violet and Rose—well, girls—glad we agree—Sharon has done the dirty with everyone and she’s not done. I think it’s time the writers stop giving Sharon these young roles. I’m no prude, but she dresses like my 17-year old niece—then again, even her skirts aren’t that short. She looks ridiculous—-maybe the writers are trying to make her look younger because her new boyfriend is younger than her son..

Celia…Aside#2…Or Hope’s backless, barely front breakup dress when she first went to see Thomas on B&B to tell him she was going to try to work out her marriage with Liam.
