Will Y&R’s Real Damian Please Stand Up, Please Stand Up?
Sometimes you gotta harken back to Eminem when he raps ,”Will the real Slim Shady, please stand up, please stand up.” Thus, would be the case of the reveal on the Monday, February 3rd episode of The Young and the Restless.
While in Chancellor Park, the man we think is Damian (played by Nathan Owens) speaks with a man who turns out to be the real Damian (Jermaine Rivers). It is there we learn that the guy we think is Damian is really a man named Holden. The real Damian has sent him in as an imposter to see just what game is being played by half-brother, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and his mother, Amy Lewis (Valarie Pettiford).
Taking to his Instagram, once the episode aired, Rivers expressed, “The Real Damian Kane has Entered the Building!!! I’m Super excited and Feeling Extremely Grateful to be joining the cast of The Young and the Restless!!! Things are about to get a lil intense in Genoa City…. Let’s Gooooo🙌🏾🔥🔥🔥” Rivers credits include: Black Adam, Magic Mike XXL, The Resident, and Sweet Magnolias to name but a few.

Meanwhile, Nathan Owens spoke to Soap Opera Digest on the soapy twist of his new character sharing, ” Holden is a very, very charismatic man. He is … I don’t want to say a Lothario, but he’s a charming dude and he’s very single. And he has quite the interest in alcohol (laughs). He’s definitely worldly and cultured, but there is a bit of a mysterious darkness to this character that I want to tap into even more as the story progresses.”

Keeping his true Y&R identify was a bit of struggle, as Owens expressed, “It’s been difficult to keep the secret. It’s especially difficult when you’re having a discussion with anybody about storyline and stuff like that. I have a hard time with that, because for some reason, my initial gut reaction is to be like, ‘Yeah, these are all the things that are happening right now! I’m a terrible secret-keeper. I’ve done a pretty good job, though!”
So, what did you think of the plot twist, that Nathan Owens is a playing a decoy named Holden working with the real Damian? Will Holden be the new love interest as had been anticipated for Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), so once again we have daytime’s Holden and Lily ala ATWT? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
Ha! That would be a twist if we were given a new Holden and Lily!
And add Damian too to complete that once beautiful triangle! Holden/ Lily/ Damian the next generation!
Oh my goodness. I forgot about the Daman part of the ATWT super triangle (always remembered Lily and Holden). Hopefully Josh does respect the incredible work of Douglas Marland if Y and R is heading in this direction.
The twist would be that Y&R’s Lily could actually get paired with a black man. It’s as likely as Musk respecting DEI. That said, this is an ATWT hommage better served by the show actually coming back.
Just when I think I can’t be surpriused, I definitely was!
Once the real Damian is discovered, I hope Holden also stays around. Both guys are easy on the eye LOL. It IS a strange twist though as to why Damian sent in an imposter.
Do we neven know why he has been estranged from his mother all these years?
And why should we care?
I am finding it hard to care about Y&R at all these days.
Thank you!! These people were thrown at us out of nowhere—nothing about these characters piques my interest.
Another insipid Y&R storyline. Unless I’m missing something vital/extraordinary, it is the most boring yet!! Anything to do with Nate gives me the doldrums . We are to have pity for a woman we do not know. A woman who had a kid with his father? Boh!!
Celia, I can’t agree enough. I remember when Nate was a kid and his mother, Olivia , Nate and playboy dad were a family. Olivia subsequently divorced him for all his playing around..Now, all of a sudden they are resurrecting this SL with unknowns, and are they for real or out to get Nate’s money? Why are they disgussing Lily, when it’s very obvious that Nates GF, Audra will be going after one of these two men. Am very sick of seeing her in so many of these scenes, sympathizing with Damian’s mother.
I know, Violet—it is strange. They’re all weird. I don’t even recognize Y&R any more. I grew up watching this show eith my grandmother —But this new version of Y&R is not grabbing me. Ian is a Zombie, Jordan has nine lives, Sharon is unrecognizable—her mode of speaking to Phillis was a scene from outer space—the way she moved her head—her eyes—I don’t know anymore. LOL
I’m glad I’m not the only one confused by Sharon’s odd behavior. Maybe the actress is struggling with the ridiculously poor plot and even unbearable dialogue! It just moves from one storyline to another and another. I thought one of the most preposterous moments was Tessa and baby gone missing, purely a “red herring” that Ian abducted her… speaking of Ian– really? Eyes open and not a word from the hospital or ambulance? NOT A WORD in over a day?
He’s gone, we just will probably never know how, where, etc. I think Victor “dissappeared” him, as they say.
Celia, I thought it was just me the other day when Sharon was speaking in her Zombie voice, or still drugged. It was cookoo? Another thing, if Phyllis hates Sharon so much, why dies she keep going to her coffee shop?
I thought she was talking strangely, too. And thank you for saying that about Phyllis. I regularly shout at my tv, telling Phyllis, Daniel, and Summer to stay out of Sharon’s coffeehouse!
If Nate and Damien have the same biological parents, how are they half brothers ?
They have the SAME father, different mothers. Easy to figure that out!
The guy who plays Damien needs to go. He is too old to be within the same age group as Nate, Holden, Lily, Audra etc. —- plus, he looks old enough to be Nate’s father, not his brother. And, he looks as old as his mother. Furthermore, he is lackluster and has no charisma. He’s just blah!!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
