THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS: Aristotle Dumas Reveals Himself as Cane Ashby and Lily is Not Too Pleased
After months of the “Who is Aristotle Dumas?” mystery, on the Friday, June 20th episode of The Young and the Restless, the story finally got somewhere, although not surprising anyone by this point, but it was revealed that Dumas is actually Cane Ashby, who left Genoa City six years ago (back then in the form of Daniel Goddard).
With all of his guests getting annoyed on the grounds of his “maze” and his home in the French Riviera, Cane (Billy Flynn) asks his legal eagle, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) to separate Lily (Christel Khalil) from the group so he can lower the boom on her first, before he “shocks’ the others.
Lily begrudgingly goes with Amanda, and eventually is left alone in a “park” area, when Cane shows his face to his ex-wife and the mother of his children. Lily is petulant, argumentative, and not willing to hear what he has to say, until he finally clarifies for her that he is, in fact, Aristotle Dumas. It’s an alias he created six-years ago. Lily snipes at him that since when did he become a billionaire in six years? Cane says he will tell her everything in due time, but first, he must go address all of his other guests.

The minute Cane comes face-to-face with: Kyle (Michael Mealor), Audra (Zuleyka Silver), Diane (Susan Walters), Jack (Peter Bergman), Sally (Courtney Hope), Billy (Jason Thompson), Devon (Bryton James), Damian (Jermaine Rivers), Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor (Eric Braeden), many recognize him. While everyone is shocked or annoyed, they are not understanding what is going on here, Victor pipes up, “Everyone! This is Cane Ashby. He’s been using the name Aristotle Dumas for the last six years!” Now, Victor wants to know what does he want with all of them?
The moment served to introduce CBS daytime viewers to Billy Flynn who jumped from Sony show, Days of our Lives to Sony show, The Young and the Restless after playing Chad DiMera on the Peacock streaming soap opera for the past 11 years.

In an interview with TV Insider, Flynn said of the reveal, “I’m still figuring out who this version of the characters I’m playing are. It’s the introduction phase. I didn’t originate Chad, obviously, and I forgot what that’s like, and how much work that is, but I’m great. I love everybody here (at Y&R). People couldn’t be kinder to me, and everybody has done everything they can to make me feel as at home as I can be.”
After Friday’s episode aired, the “Next week on Y&R” preview dropped where the action picks back up as the Chance Chancellor/Jill Abbott connection is brought up and more. Take a look at it below, and make sure to join Billy Flynn live when he guests on the Michael Fairman Channel on Tuesday, June 24 beginning at 7pm ET/4pm PT.
Now, let us know, what did you think of the reveal of Aristotle Dumas as Cane Ashby? What did you think of Lily’s reaction? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
Poof! Cane Ashby is now 13 years younger! Poof! This Cane Ashby is literally a few years older than his grown adult children he had with Lily! Poof! I wish this storyline would just vanish! Poof! No more Australian accent, which doesn’t just go away after 6 years! Poof!
I agree about the vanishing Australian accent but I don’t see a problem with the 13 year age difference between the two actors. Given Y&R’s propensity to play fast and loose with their characters’ ages, including rapidly SORASing the Winter twins while their playmates, Billy and Vic’s kids, remained the same age, Cane being played by a younger actor can work. This is especially true when you consider that Billy Flynn is 40 and both the actress and the character Lily were born in 1987 making them both 37 going on 38.
It’s more believable for him since he’s 40 and the twins are 20. What’s sort of a stretch is Christel Khalil. She’s 37 years old. This is happening on soaps more and more.
Poof Poof Josh Griffith, can CBS executives get rid of him he’s awful This huge storyline was nothing but a letdown for many. It was dumb dumb dumb. I sure many of watching could have come with a better storyline that this, and the wasted talent of those on the show are just that being wasted. Josh got rid of Gina Tognoni he first big mistake she had many watching the show and her acting was awesome. The show has not been the same and at times its boring as hell.
CBS WAKE UP B/B seems to be a littel more excting than Y/R but I guess everyone is alright with GH leading the way for the last years since Gina’s departure.
I am not familiar with Billy Flynn and I have to say upon my first look at him, he is quite delicious – I’m so shallow LOL. However, apart from the age and being too young for the role, I could never stand the Cane character – I did not care for his portrayer, so I may feel differently with a different actor. But I still wish he had come on as a new character even though I guess it wouldn’t have the same impact on everyone there if it was someone they didn’t already know.
This story has been excruciatingly boring & painful to sit through. Thank God for fast forwarding. Don’t know how much more of this show I can take.
YawneR has jumped the shark with this casting.
Billy in the role of Cane is unbelievable, but Conner Floyd will be great in the role of Chad on Days. And when YawneR dumps Billy, Days better not take him back because Conner will be killing it as Chad.
When will CBS get rid of JOSH GRIFFITH when? He’s awful, some of the storylines are plain boring and dumb. Get rid of him, the latest fisco with Cane Ashby is the dumbest of the dumbest storylines, and the one with Phyllis and Sharon being held hostage was boringggggggggggg. With such a great talented of actors on this show, he’s is runing it. He biggest error was letting go of Gina Tognoni- that was awfull Gina had everyone watching Y/R with her great talent and her acting skills.
WAKE UP CBS – Bold and the Beautiful is more excting with dumb stories you have going on. l feel for the great cast being wasted.
It may not happen anytime soon, because it’s said that he constantly brings the showvin under budget.
CBS won’t replace Josh Griffith. For them, there is no reason to. The soap continues to perform in demos/ratings, and that’s what the top brass looks at when considering these kinds of changes. Unless that significantly changes, there’s zero reason for them (from their point of view) to replace him.
Griffin destroyed the character of Tucker – remember his big debut? I have no expectations for Cane – a character that no one has even missed. How about “The twins” had been living with their dad and actually appeared? Thank to my DVR I fast forward Y and R and B and B – hoping for something interesting to see. I average 12 minutes for Y and R – and 5 for B and B.
The reveal was lackluster since the actor is new and not known as Cane. He’s younger, American, shorter…I guess they wanted him to have connections to people in GC. but it came over as a bland.
I always have liked the Cane character and could never understand why Lily and Devon were always bashing him. Now they bash Damian as well because he was the CEO for a big legitimate company and imply he is shady when look at Lily.
Lily is the one that killed Devon’s previous wife, Hilary, while she was 8 months pregnant.
Lily then went to jail and is a convicted felon. Lily had been this model, dancer, etc.for decades. Now, all of the sudden she is this amazing, incredible, and super CEO executive. I find this very hard to swallow.
Cane went with his dying father who changed for the better. Why is that so bad. I find it ridiculous that Lily and Devon keep bashing Cane. I like Cane and hope he lets them all have it – especially Victor and Nikki for taking Chancellor, a family company, away from Billy/Chance who are the rightful heirs. Victor and Nikki have enough companies.
Days Of Our Lives
DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Marlena Looks Back at 50 Years in Salem

The June 22 episode of Days of Our Lives reminded us all of why Deidre Hall is iconic in the role of Dr. Marlena Evans. Here we are 50 years later, and Marlena is still the heroine of the long-running soap opera, and Deidre remains one of the most most recognizable names in the history of soaps.
To pay tribute, and to look back at the life and times of Marlena, the story starts with Marlena flipping through a photo album of her with John (the late Drake Hogestyn) over the years. As she misses him dearly, she gets a knock on the door and its none other than John’s son, Paul Narita (Christopher Sean).
With Andrew (Colton Little) in Salem working on a case, he sits down with Marlena, who says she can’t believe its been fifty years since she first arrived in Salem! Cue: Deidre’s first scenes on DAYS when she finds Mickey Horton (the late John Clarke) playing chess against himself inside the mental institution she worked.

THE FLASHBACKS OF MARLENA’S LIFE
From there, viewers definitely got the cliff notes version of the history of Marlena and entrenched within them, some of the biggest moments in Deidre’s enduring run.
Paul thinks he is looking at 70s, and early 80s Marlena while going through her scrapbook, but he is actually looking at her twin, Samantha (Andrea Hall). Cue: when Marlena confronted Samantha about impersonating her, and then later getting a call on her radio show from the Salem Strangler (Jack Coleman as Jake Kostichek) who killed Samantha thinking it was Marlena.
In the present, Belle (Martha Madison) has arrived at this time to meet up with Paul, unaware of this trip down memory lane. She wants to go over the findings in the chess board mystery Stefano willed to Marlena and John, in private with him, since Marlena previously said she wanted nothing to do with it.
Back to the history lesson, Marlena speaks highly of Don Craig and even though their marriage didn’t work out, she could find a path forward with the new love her life, Roman Brady. (Wayne Northrop however is never shown, possibly to keep the story focused on John as Roman for confusion sakes?)
Paul sees a photo of a young Carrie (Christie Clark) in the album and Marlena says she was such a godsend after losing her baby. In fact, Marlena says caring for Carrie prepared her for her having and raising her own twins, Eric and Sami. Cue: The twin visiting Marlena in the hospital.
JOHN AND MARLENA’S LOVE CONQUERED ALL
Then, in a way to get through and incorporate the wild storylines only Marlena could have been in, she tells Belle and Paul, she has been through so much in her life, how lucky she was to find John, and some of the most unbelievable experiences no one could imagine. Cue: Marlena possessed by the devil and levitating from the bed. Next, John confronting Marlena being the Salem Stalker, where she admits she killed Alice Horton, pretends she needs help, then pulls a gun on her beloved John!
The comment is made by Paul and Marlena, that she literally has been to hell and back and she could not have survived were it not for her beloved John. Cue the big emotional highpoint clips; The Pier Scene! Marlena steps out of the fog when John sees her from a distance. After believing she was dead for four years, here she was before him in one of the greatest reunions in a soap opera love story in history. What followed were other times of the life of times of Jarlena.

MARLENA’S ‘GIFT’ FROM STEFANO HAS A NEW CLUE
When Marlena makes a brief exit to the other room, Belle fills in Paul on the chess set Stefano left her mother and the photo of the Lire. Paul said he will investigate. Marlena comes back into the room and overhears, and says to promise her if things get dangerous he will back off, she does not want anyone hurt by Stefano’s games.
As the episode comes to a conclusion, it’s just Belle and Marlena going through the photo album giggling about 70s hairstyles and all the memories. Belle speaks on the impact Marlena has had in everyone’s lives, and that she is both the heart of their family and the heart of Salem.
An end card comes up acknowledging Deidre Hall’s 50th anniversary as Marlena, and we fade to black.
So, what did you think of Marlena’s walk down memory lane? Were you happy to see the flashback clips utilized throughout? Were you touched by the scenes and the performance of Deidre Hall? Let us know what you thought of Deidre’s 50th anniversary episode via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Sidwell Surfaces; A Twist in Britt’s Condition

On the Thursday, June 18 episode of General Hospital, Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) makes his shocking return right in Port Charles, after fleeing (thanks to Cassius) to supposedly parts unknown to escape capture for trying to kill Dr. Lucas Jones (Van Hansis).
How does he show up in town? First, Ezra (Daniel Cosgrove) gets a text from Jacinda (Paige Herschell) to meet in his hotel room. Ezra thinks the two are going to have a sexcapade so he puts champagne on ice for his favorite escort.
Suddenly, there is a knock at the door. Ezra’s excitement turns towards fear as instead of Jacinda, Sidwell is standing in front of him. Next, Sidwell blackmails Boyle telling him he has plenty of leverage he can use against him. Sidwell wants to use Ezra to help him takedown, Sonny (Maurice Benard), Lucas, Laura (Genie Francis) and Cullum.

ARE SIDWELL’S DAYS NUMBERED?
Meanwhile, Sonny confides in his brother, Ric (Rick Hearst). He says he knows who killed Marco an he is going to use that intel to lure Sidwell out of hiding. Sonny also shares he is going to kill Sidwell, and handle this by himself. He gave the PCPD a chance, but they failed to nab Sidwell for good and lock him up.
Sonny also has been tracking the whereabouts of Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) and Rocco (Finn Carr) through Brick, and learned they took a flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and then boarded a fairy to take them somewhere off the island.

BRITT’S ‘SYMPTOMS’ RETURN
Turns out, Britt and Rocco are hiding out in the British Virgin Islands. Britt set up Rocco with a burner phone and a VPN on her tablet, that is not traceable. Rocco reads on the tablet about Lucas’ shooting. Britt starts to have the shakes and passes out. When she comes to, Britt won’t let Rocco call a doctor, but he uses his phone to step on the balcony and call Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) and ask for help. Charlotte looks shocked to hear from her brother as Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) looks on!

However, Joe (Jonathan Bennett) could be the one to put two and two together! While at General Hospital and after questioning Lucas about a syringe he found that was in someone’s possession. the toxicology report showed traces of saline solution, not actual medication. He asks Dr. Jones, why someone would inject themselves with saline? Lucas responds saline is harmless and would have no effect on someone.
So, does this mean that this entire time, Britt has been led to believe that the medication she was taking to treat her Huntington’s disease was placebo? Has Britt been lied to into believing she is dying? Is something else wrong with her instead?
Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section below, and if you are ready for Sidwell to finally get his comeuppance from Sonny! But first, watch the scenes where Sidwell comes out of hiding and blackmails Ezra Boyle.
General Hospital
GENERAL HOSPITAL: Dante and ‘Nathan’ Have It Out, Valentin and Carly Share Passionate Moments Which May Be Their Last
On the June 16 episode of General Hospital, the PCPD under acting police commissioner Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) is in a bit of mess and does not go unnoticed by ADA Turner (Nazneen Contractor).
First, there is the whole Chase (Josh Swickard) defending Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) over Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), who he arrested for allegedly tossing Willow in the waters next to the Quartermaine boathouse. Turner has had it with Chase’s good guy act and how he tampered with evidence in her case against Willow for shooting Drew.
Later, Dante and Justine question “Nathan” (Ryan Paevey) about Sidwell’s escape while in his custody. Turner is not buying his cover story that he was ambushed by Sidwell and his men. Once “Nathan” left the interrogation room, Turner went in on Dante about having “Nathan” on the force after seven years away, and Chase she views as a “dirty cop.”
However, Dante defends both of his officers, but Justine warned that “Nathan” and Chase’s behavior would reflect poorly on Dante as commissioner and she should really think about that. Later, Dante has a terse confrontation with “Nathan” on how he botched a prison transport and that he better watch his back as Justine is one step away from turning this over to Internal Affairs.
COP MADNESS
Next, “Nathan” apologizes for the way he handled the situation with Rocco and says he feels badly. But then in the twist, Dante said that he was grateful that “Nathan” had been there for his son in his time of need (referencing after Rocco shot Cullum and covered it up).
Then, there’s the newest police officer in the precinct, Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett). He may actually be on to “Nathan’s” double life when he questions him about a syringe found in Britt’s room at Bobbie’s. “Nathan” made up a story to counter Joe’s, that he was not aware that his sister was taking anything for her Huntington’s disease diagnosis. Joe called the forensic department lab wanting to know what drug was exactly in the syringe.

BEFORE YOU GO
At Carly’s (Laura Wright), Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) tells her that he must travel to Geneva to speak to the head of the WSB, named Z. Valentin feels it’s the only way to save Josslyn if he informs Z about Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) being a double agent. Valentin shares with Carly that he has to stop Cullum from bringing his dangerous cold fusion device online. Carly is beside herself. She doesn’t want Valentin to sacrifice himself by turning himself into the organization who has made him a fugitive in the first place. Valentin stands firm that he must meet Z in person.
Knowing that revealing himself to the WSB meant he was likely going back to prison, Valentin asked Carly if she’d get in touch with his daughter, Charlotte so he could say good-bye to her. Next, Carly and Valentin make their way to the bedroom to make love, which may be for the very last time, if Valentin is caught and put back in Steinmauer Maximum Security Prison.

CAUGHT BY CULLUM
At the same time while at Wydemere, Cullum is talking with one of his WSB operatives. Now, he is pondering if Valentin and Sidwell were working together all along. Next, Cullum entertains the idea of involving the FBI to locate Britt and Rocco. He says he plans to kill them both once he knows of their whereabouts. Cullum sees the only other threat to the completion of the cold fusion project to be Anna Devane.
Cullum wants to track the location of the unidentified person who called the private clinic in France trying to get in touch with Anna, while pretending to be Kevin Collins. When the agent came back with a report, he says it emanated from a cell tower near Shoreline Road. It’s in the that moment that a light bulb goes on for Cullum! Valentin is in Port Charles and hiding at Carly’s!
So, what do you think of the PCPD cops, Chase, Joe and “Nathan?” Who should Dante fire? Do you think Valentin will go the run?Are you digging Carly and Valentin’s relationship and want it to continue, especially with Finola Hughes on her way back as Anna next month on-screen? Weigh-in via the comment section, and in case you missed it, you can check out our latest interview with Dominic Zamprogna below from his appearance on the Michael Fairman Channel, where he talks the PCPD cops, Rocco on the run, and more.
