THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS: Is it ‘Alan’ or Presumed-Dead Twin ‘Martin’ Who Is Behind Phyllis and Sharon’s Kidnapping?
The Wednesday, March 12th episode of The Young and the Restless brought with it a bombshell revelation of who seems to be behind the ‘Squid Game’ type situation, and kidnapping, that arch enemies Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Sharon (Sharon Case) find themselves in. (If you don’t want anymore storyline spoilers don’t read any further).
For days, Sharon and Phyllis have been (as has now been identified at the abandoned Havenhurst mental institution basement) held hostage, as the mechanically-manipulated voice pipes through the loudspeaker in the basement giving them directions, games, tasks, and tidbits, while forcing them to work together to survive; knowing that the two women have deep-seated issues with each other.
It seems like only a noted psychologist or one who thinks they are one, and someone who understands human behavior, might have the women trapped in an experiment. Now, after saving each other’s lives, there is one final riddle to conquer, they have to find an escape route together.

Meanwhile at the GCAC, Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins) proposes to Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), and she accepts. Alan takes Traci’s hand and says, “I’ve spent a lifetime without you, Traci.” He says he wants to give Traci all the space she needs, but he wants to be closer to her. Alan says, “I love you very much. Traci Abbott, will you marry me?” An overwhelmed Traci says, “Yes, I will marry you.”
Next, Alan leaves to go get Traci an engagement ring, as Traci tells Jack (Peter Bergman) and Diane (Susan Walters) that Alan just asked her to marry him. Jack asks if this what Traci wants and with tears in her eyes, she says “More than anything!” Later in the park, Alan looks at the engagement ring he got for Traci, when his cellphone goes off. He takes it out of his pocket and its revealed he is the person watching Sharon and Phyllis on the video feed.

But … is this really Alan or is presumed-dead twin, Martin, who previously impersonated Alan? If you recall we learned in Paris, Martin enjoyed taking Alan’s place and being thought of as a respected psychiatrist. In fact, it was Martin, who pretended to be Alan which sent Ashley (Eileen Davidson) on a spiral of DID.
A few months back, Sharon under went hypnosis with Alan after she believed she killed Heather Stevens. Is that link up to the story? Alan has been Martin this whole time? Last year, Alan and Martin had a face-off in Paris with Martin presumably falling to his death over a balcony.
So, what do you think is going on here? Will the character that is holding Sharon and Phyllis hostage and who proposed to Traci be revealed as Martin? Then, where is Alan? Is he the brother that died? Share your thoughts on the reveal and theories of what’s to come via the comment section below.
Please don’t let it be Martin. Traci will be devastated. Why would he want to kidnap Phyllis and Sharon?
I sure hope that Martin kidnapped Alan and is the one that’s doing all this to Sharon and Phyllis
And that Alan can be rescued and be with Traci.
Tracy has had too much hurt romantically she doesn’t deserve another one
Another crappy story, and another way that the writers are so dishonoring Beth Maitland. Like Beth’s character hasn’t gone through enough….I guess the writers like portraying her as just another dumb woman who couldn’t tell that Alan was Martin…omg, can’t stand the writing on Y&R, and this is totally deplorable. The character of Traci Abbott deserves much better than this pile of crap forced on her….by a head writer who does NOT know how to write.
Great points .
Makes no sense! When will CBS wake up and do something about the writing and production??
I’ve given up on B&B and I am so close to doing the same with Y&R. I support the soaps and I always have and always will. But, Josh Griffith continues to give us storylines without payoff. The viewers have been vocal and yet we get the same ____! Beth Maitland deserves better. Michelle Stafford and Sharon Case deserve better. How and why is Alan or Martin involved in the kidnapping storyline? As far as I know, he never met Phyllis and why torture Sharon? Makes no sense!
I agree 100%. Please listen to us! This story line is not good! Tracy deserves some happiness so write for her a good man! I’m still mad you killed off her daughter!
This makes absolutely zero sense. Why would either twin be involved in Phyllis and Sharon’s situation? Unless the crazy brother isn’t dead?
I am thinking the same thing, but even if the ” crazy” brother is alive, it’s still nuts. Neither one of these men know Phyllis and only the one brother briefly treated Sharon with hypnotism. It’s like both brothers have the knowledge of psychology.
I’m wondering if Heather is really dead?? In her delirium, Sharon could have thought she was disposing herself of Heather’s body. Maybe she is somewhere in that abandoned building.
I remember when her body was recovered, Daniel identified her body at the Morgue, yet we’ve had constant rumors of her still being alive.o
I replied to your post, but guess they didn’t deem it fit to post. I remember when Daniel had to identify Heather’s body at the Morgue. Supposedly, it was her or some crazy mistake.
I always thought Alan was Martin if you remember when he walked into Abbott mansion he didn’t recognize the place,Traci is gonna be shattered when truth comes out
this guy writes shlock and wastes good actors
It makes no sense. I am weary of these outlandish stories that seem repetitive and only marginally interesting. Sharon has spent more time imprisoned than not this past year. Phyllis seems rudderless. I’d shake down the characters as they all seem to have been romantically paired with each other and there is nothing left for anyone to do but spin in the similar storylines.
None of this is fun storytelling – unfortunately…
We care about the characters. Want to see the generational developments (if even SORAS’d).
The kidnappings, etc are not intriguing mystery – they are stupid.
I like the actor who portrays Chance but he is not the entire GCPD.
And GH has more cast members at the PCPD, WSB, private practice Law Firms, etc than they have Doctors and Nurses at General HOSPITAL.
I’m super disappointed with both soaps, though I continue to watch because I do love most of the cast – the actors and the characters that they portray.
Let’s hope that this random “kidnapping” of Sharon and Phyllis is how Y and R is attempting to “right the ship”. (fingers crossed)
And that GH will ultimately return to it’s roots of the core families and the Hospital.
We shall see…
So glad the Sharon and Phyllis thing is over so to speak. It was a quick and good ending. However, Traci is a writer and due to her success she must know how to create interesting and complex storylines. Don’t make her appear less than the brilliant woman she is. She should be able to see the plot in what is happening to her. It would be degrading if the writers don’t decide to make her shine!
I think it is the crazy brother who is alive.I never believed that he died in the first place.Guess we will have to find out next week.
I sincerely hope that Alan is not dead and many Martin didn’t die and he is heckling to get even with them all including Alan. Traci is to happy I hate to see her hurt. She deserves happiness and I really like Chris Cousins and hate to see him off the show. Can’t someone be happy for once??

Then, Steffy comes whirling into the office demanding to talk to Carter right away. Steffy is informing Carter that she has to tell Finn (Tanner Novlan) about their night together more than ever! A confused Carter asked her what changed, when they agreed to keep their one night together a secret? Carter tells her if she reveals what happened between them, it will tear about all of their lives.
Carter thinks nothing will come of their “mistake” if they keep their mouth shut. Steffy responds, “You’re wrong.” She goes on to explain that she’s pregnant! That declaration stuns Carter and we fade to black.
However, it was the preview for the action next week on The Bold and the Beautiful, that aired at the end of Friday’s episode and is now all over B&B’s social media that is the real tell-tale sign of where this story is heading.
B&B SPOILERS
In a scene airing next week, Carter says to Steffy, “I have a way out of the situation for all of us!” This comes on the heels of Daphne telling Carter she wishes she knew someone who would be their surrogate. So, putting two and two together, it looks like Carter will come up with the idea to pass Steffy and his baby off as the surrogate child of Carter and Daphne.

General Hospital
GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason and Britt Reach an Impasse; Is This the End of Their Relationship?

On the Friday, September 11 episode of General Hospital, Jason (Steve Burton) and Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) relationship becomes strained to potentially the point of no return.
Things take a turn when an unglued Britt having been traumatized by almost being killed by Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) asks Jason to back her up with the PCPD when she reports Anna for attempted murder.
However, Jason told Britt, he can’t. Jason shares that he does not believe Anna would have gone through with shooting her. Therefore, Britt was not in any real imminent danger. Britt is flabbergasted and hurt that Jason is refusing to tell the police what he actually witnessed for himself on Mount Emerson.

BRITT WANTS BACK UP FROM JASON
Jason counters that he can’t believe that Britt would want Anna punished. or sent to prison, or a mental facility after the trauma she endured while being locked up and mentally tortured while at Wyndemere.
He asks Britt, “How could you even say that you want her locked up or prosecuted for what she did when you knew she was being held prisoner and you did nothing to save her?” Britt is stunned by Jason’s response.
Coming up, official General Hospital spoilers share that on the upcoming Monday, September 14 episode, Jason confides in Carly (Laura Wright), while Britt is stung. In the video preview that aired at the end of the Friday, September 11 episode for this coming Monday, Britt says to Jason, “You don’t believe me. Do you?”
General Hospital head scribes, Chris Van Etten and Elizabeth Korte previously teased in their fall preview of the soap, “Britt and Jason have come a long way and fought a lot of enemies to be together. But the most stubborn obstacle to their happiness isn’t without, it’s within. Decisions Britt made to stay alive while under Cullum’s thumb will come back to haunt her and may prove too difficult for this unlikely couple to survive.”
So, what do you think will happen? Will Jason and Britt break-up over Britt’s lies and Jason’s unwillingness to report Anna’s crime against her? Do you want Jason and Britt to go their separate ways? If they do, will Britt become romantically involved with Dr. Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) ? If so, who do you pair Jason with? Anyone? Weigh-in via the comment section.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: Steffy is Shaken to the Core, ‘Oh My God! I’m Pregnant!’

On today’s Thursday, September 10 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) discovers she’s pregnant, after taking a home pregnancy test, that will launch a new story arc that will remain front and center for the show in the months ahead.
The life-changing story kicks off the B&B’s 40th season which officially began on September 8. In it, Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) is the biological father of Steffy’s unborn child from their drunken night together when both endured turbulent times in their marriages.
Previously, Carter had trouble with Daphne (Murielle Hilaire), when she initially walked out on him, because she could not carrying his child. Meanwhile, Steffy broke up with Finn (Tanner Novlan) while in Monaco over Finn’s mother Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) showing up, who once tried to kill her.

Courtesy/CBS
Fast-forward, Carter and Steffy made a pact that no one will ever need to know about their drunken night together, but now with Steffy becoming pregnant it changes everything. Making matters all the worse, Daphne views Steffy as her best friend, in fact, Daphne and Carter have been talking about having a child via surrogacy. While Finn had showed the couple how to start the process of finding a surrogate, Daphne felt just choosing a random person to carry Carter’s child is so impersonal. She would rather have it be someone she knows.
It does not take a scientist to predict … that somehow Steffy will carry the baby pretending to be the surrogate, when she its biological mother, and along the way, the questions become, does she keep the whole thing somehow a secret to herself? Doe Carter find out at some point? Stay tuned to see how this story reveals itself.
At its root, this is a major storyline for Wood, who has already won three Daytime Emmy Lead Actress Awards in her 18 years with The Bold and the Beautiful. In that time, her character of Steffy has experienced multiple pregnancies, given birth to two children, Kelly with Liam (Scott Clifton) as the father, and Hayes with Finn as the father, and endured a miscarriage.
So, what did you think of Steffy getting confirmation she is pregnant and looking mortified when she found out? What will she do next? Will she tell Carter? Will Daphne come to Steffy to ask her to be her surrogate, which Steffy may think will be the answers to her prayers, only for the truth to come out later, or falling in love with the baby since its hers to be begin with? Share your thoughts and theories for this major story for Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, via the comment section.
