You can’t keep a bad guy down, and as rumored and predicted, Roger Howarth is back taping all-new episodes at The Young and the Restless in his latest soap opera incarnation as Matt Clark.

The Daytime Emmy Award-winning actor revealed his return to work this week, via a photo posted on his official Instagram story, and in the pic you see his name taped to a parking spot at Television City where Y&R is taped.

Viewers of The Young and the Restless have not seen or heard from Matt Clark since his last appearance back on the January 20 episode of the CBS daytime drama series. In it, Matt was dragged out of the trunk of Nick’s car, brought into Sharon’s (Sharon Case) house, where she, Nick (Joshua Morrow), Sienna (Tamara Braun), and Noah (Lucas Adams) all had the opportunity to have him on “trial” in their kangaroo court and tell him what they thought of how he terrorized each of them.

Next, Victor (Eric Braeden) ordered his henchmen to take Matt to the main house. We later saw Matt stashed in what looked to be a closet, when Victor opened the door and the two had a tense moment, and that is the last we saw of him.

During a recent live interview with Sharon Case on the Michael Fairman Channel, Joshua Morrow said of the importance of keeping Roger Howarth around in story as Matt Clark: “I don’t care where they go with the story, as long as it allows us to keep Roger Howath around. I think he’s been a tremendous, I love his attitude. He’s given this character, to me, something really interesting to watch. I’ve seen on social media a few people like, ‘What a waste,’ because now he’s a bad (guy) and whatever. And I’m like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ I think he’s exploded in this role, and he’s going to give the show multiple reasons to keep him, and to make him even more dynamic and scary and riveting and all that stuff. I think this is a tremendous opportunity for Roger and our show to really craft something new and exciting.”

It was back in August of 2025, that Howarth was revealed as joining the cast of the top-rated soap opera, although what role he was playing was kept under wraps. Viewers did not know his appearance was tied into the “LA noir mystery” story that was promised by Y&R’s executive producer and head writer, Josh Griffith.

Later, when Howarth actually made his on-screen debut on October 31, 2025, he was playing a character named Mitch Bacall, husband to Sienna. However, audiences soon learned when Mitch had a run in with Sharon outside his LA club, The Shadow Room, that Roger was actually playing a recast, Matt Clark.

Since Roger had just returned to taping all-new episodes, viewers should expect a Matt Clark sighting sometime in March.

Now in case you missed it, you can check our chat with Joshua Morrow and Sharon Case where they talk about the return of Matt Clark into the story after 25 years and more, below.

So, glad to hear Roger Howarth will soon be airing again as Matt Clark? When he reappears, do you think he will already have escaped the clutches of Victor Newman? How will he plot his revenge? Share your theories via the comment section.

Yay!

Please give Roger Howarth a long term contract! He’s exciting, handsome and well worth keeping around for a long time!

So Josh Morrow said, “I don’t care where they go with the story, as long as it allows us to keep Roger Howath around.” And that’s the problem with Y&R. The story. They are awful. Griffith is an awful storyteller. The fact you can make a paycheck, and not care about the story, is simply amazing. I know actors have little to no input on the stories they are given, but come on Josh….his stories are bad. You can bring in the best actors in town, but if the crap they are given to work with is just crap, what good is it? Y&R is losing in the demos, they are down. Price is Right’s margin in total viewers is GROWING over Y&R, not even close any longer. This whole Mariah story…pathetic. Nothing makes much sense any more in Genoa City. Keeping Roger Howarth around doesn’t fix the problem.

This right here. Despite loving the talented actors from Y&R, I had to give it up after watching for over 30 years. Life is too short to watch boring, redundant and uncreative stories. Roger Howarth is an amazing talent but not enough to bring me back to watch dull, listless stories. The problem is nothing is going to change as long as the ratings hold steady and for some inexplicable reason, Y&R sustains its number one status in the daytime drama category. I don’t get it.

Y&R’s Mark Grossman Marks 7-Years as Adam Newman And Teases What May Lie Ahead (Exclusive)

This week, The Young and the Restless, Mark Grossman is celebrating the beginning of his seventh year as Adam Newman. Viewers first saw Mark make his debut on the CBS daytime drama series back on May 13, 2019.

Mark along with his on-screen brother and co-star, Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman) took part in a livestream chat on the Michael Fairman Channel were a myriad of subjects from current to past storylines, to his beginnings as the black sheep of the Newman clan were discussed.  In addition, Mark teased what he is looking forward to coming up in story for Adam and what he thinks lies ahead.

On recent episodes of the top-rated soap opera, Adam has been by Nick’s side, trying to help him bring down his nemesis and standing by his brother, after learning that Nick is suffering from a fentanyl addiction. Playing the good side of Adam has been rewarding but will he be the good-natured Adam down the line?

THE EVOLUTION OF ADAM

“I think, Adam has definitely evolved a bit and he’s just not as reactive,” shares Grossman. “So, there definitely has been a lot of opportunities to where, maybe if he doesn’t always see it, his instinct is always going to be to protect the family. We’ll see how long it lasts.”

Part of the recent trip to Adam’s old haunting grounds in Vegas, reunited him with none other than Riza (Tina Casciani) which is where in 20189, Mark was first introduced to Adam going by the name of “Spyder.” But will seeing Riza spark something in Adam that is yet to come?

“It was amazing that they got Tina that played Riza all those years ago. So that was really cool,” expressed Mark. “We really didn’t know much about their relationship but after talking with our head writer Josh Griffith and kind of getting a little backstory that maybe there was more to their relationship. It was really fun to go back to Vegas, kind of back where I started. Who knows where that’ll go, or if anything will come with that, but Adam’s very happy with Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan). So that definitely would throw a wrench in that.”

BABY DRAMA HEATS UP

Meanwhile, Adam is still in the dark that his ex-Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) is pregnant with Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) child and they are engaged, given Adam’s heartbreaking past with Sally and her losing their child, Grossman knows this sets up a potential emotional windfall.

“Adam’s going to find out and it’s going to definitely weigh on him. That’s a big deal, especially with Billy, who is a huge rival,” shares Mark. “There’s a lot there. We will see how the storyline goes, but there’s a lot of story to be had there. I’m looking forward to seeing what they’re going to write for that.”

Joshua Morrow and fans in the live chat agreed that as Mark marks 7-years on Y&R, that they loved his performances surrounding Sally losing the baby. Grossman agreed it was one of his favorite stories to play to.

“Sally losing the bay was an excellent story, and Courtney Hope was phenomenal and that was a lot of fun.  It was obviously a heartbreaking storyline, but working with Joshua and Courtney and everybody else that was in that storyline, that was great,” expressed Mark.

FIRST TIME MEETING TV DAD

As Mark recalls his first day on the set back in 2019, he certainly remembers the moment he met his TV dad, the icon, Eric Braeden (Victor Newman).  “I still remember the first time I met him walking on the set. He was talking to Jordi Vilasuso (ex-Rey, Y&R now Grayson, Beyond the Gates) at the time. I was so intimidated to talk to him. He’s just such a big teddy bear. I love working with him. It’s just been amazing to work with him and to get to be a Newman and share the scenes with him.  It’s been an honor and a pleasure. He is amazing. I just love that guy.”

FROM ONE AMNESIAC TO ANOTHER

With the Newman family undergoing so much drama with Nick’s drug addiction, Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) back in town, Victor trying to get his company back, and more, Mark gave his outlook for what fans can expect.

“We are going to have to see where the chips fall with Newman. As of now, Newman Media is nowhere to be found and Adam and Chelsea ae out of a job. So that’s definitely a priority. And as far as Matt Clark’s amnesia, I don’t think Adam believes him. After all, Adam had amnesia more than once, right?  Nick needs to figure himself out right now. He’s got some other issues to deal with. Adam definitely has his eye on Matt Clark and is a little skeptical and also wants to be there for his family.

So, what do you think will happen with Adam coming up on all-new episodes of The Young and the Restless? Will he continue to stand by the Newman family as they struggle to help Nick with his addiction and get Victor’s company back? Is there more to Adam’s relationship with Riza that we don’t know?

Will finding out Sally is pregnant and having a baby with Adam’s enemy Billy Abbott flip Adam out? Can Chelsea and Adam keep their relationship together without outside forces tearing them apart? Share your thoughts below and give a shout out to Mark for 7 years and counting as Y&R’s Adam in the comment section below.  But first, check out the full chat with Mark and Joshua Morrow below.

Y&R’s Mark Grossman and Joshua Morrow to Chat Live on the Michael Fairman Channel

Published

By

Get ready, because on Wednesday, May 13th at special time, 6pm ET/3pm PT, The Young and the Restless Newman Brothers: Mark Grossman (Adam Newman) and Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman) will chat live on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel in a conversation not-to-be-missed.

Currently in story on the top-rated CBS soap opera, Nick has found himself addicted to painkillers and especially fentanyl, in part, thank to the machinations of the return of his nemesis Matt Clark (Roger Howarth).

Nick is in serious trouble and Adam is trying to make sure his brother gets into a drug rehab program and get the help he needs; only things keep going awry and from bad to worse.

THE RISE AND FALL OF THE NEWMAN FAMILY

In addition, with Matt now back in Genoa City claiming to have amnesia, Adam trying to do good for his brother and their father, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), who is battling to get Newman Enterprises back from Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), the family dynamics are key to how this all plays itself out on upcoming episodes.

With Nick teetering on the edge, Adam who reconnected with Riza (Tina Casciani) in Las Vegas, might still find himself drawn into her web. Much to discuss with Joshua Morrow, who this June will celebrate his 32nd year as Nick while Mark Grossman celebrates his 7th year with us as the black sheep of the Newman clan having debuted back on May 13, 2019.

GOT A QUESTION FOR MARK OR JOSHUA?

‘The Young and the Restless’ Tamara Braun Teases Sienna and Nick Relationship Turn, ‘There is Some Chemistry’

Published

It looks like now may be the time that The Young and the Restless is building towards a change in the dynamic between Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).

First, Nick is not himself these days since becoming addicted to painkillers and most importantly, fentanyl. Second, Sienna is seeing Audra (Zuleyka Silver) popping back into Lucas’ (Lucas Adams) life more than she wants to. Third, Sienna’s brother got into trouble with drugs so there is empathy there for what Nick is going through and potentially to help him pull through this.

Tamara Braun, who is celebrating her 25th anniversary on daytime soaps this month, spoke to Soaps.com about how the Y&R fans are noticing something between Sienna and Nick. Will they hit the sheets? Will they have an affair? A one-night stand? Or will it be platonic, and she could be the person to help Nick out in one of the darkest times in his life?

Photo: JPI

A NEW WOMAN IN NICK’S LIFE?

“I guess it would make for an interesting triangle,” said Braun about the possibility of being the woman between dad and son. “But people can have chemistry that isn’t romantic, and it can still become something really interesting. You know, like when you feel like you’ve met somebody before, or you meet somebody for the first time, and you’re instantly best friends, like, ‘How the heck are we grooving so well?’”

The two-time Daytime Emmy winning actress added that maybe that is what the audience is sensing with Nick and Sienna, but Braun does confirm,”There is some chemistry.”

TOUGH LOVE

With Nick’s addiction spiraling out of control and especially by week’s end on all-new episodes of the CBS soap opera, Tamara says Sienna’s experience with her brother and drugs, could lead to more key time with Nic:, “Whether it’s romantic, (it could be just a case of) ‘I want to try and get it right when I wasn’t able to before.”‘

So would be down for Sienna and Nick to have some sort of romantic encounter or relationship? Would you be more enthused if they remain friendly and she helps him try to deal with his addiction, or would you want them in each others orbits as friends and lovers? Let us know via the comment section.
