The Young and the Restless SHICK Gets Hit By a Flying Salmon!

The Young and the Restless Daytime Emmy winning star, Sharon Case (Sharon) tweeted yesterday to look for her and Joshua Morrow (Nick) on Sunday’s edition of HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver!

In a set-up, Oliver illustrates Whooshh’s new Salmon Cannon, and then tests it himself by sending a large fish directly at designated targets on television!  But, just who would end up being hit by the flying salmon?

Apparently, Oliver smelled something fishy in Genoa City, and didn’t appreciate Sharon Newman’s paternity deceit to the love of her life Nick Newman!  So, in a re-enacted scene between Shick … a flying salmon konks Sharon in the head! Others in the line of salmon fire included: Jon Stewart, Tom Hanks, Jimmy Fallon, The Houston Rockets, Rachael Ray and more!

Watch Sharon and Joshua in this segment after the jump! The best part …  after being hit by the salmon, it looks like Sharon and Joshua were about to burst out laughing, but maintained their composure in the scene! Share your thoughts below!

I personally don’t think it was Sharon’s deceit. I think which Phyllis was trying to steal Nick from Sharon she changed the paternity to show Nick and not Jack because it was always supposed to be Jack as Summer’s father not Nick. Sharon just changed them back to the true original paternity. Jack deserves to be the father of Summer. Nick and Sharon have had enough people meddling in their family. Let them be for a while. Their children are all going to have issues from it. Phyllis is a conniving troublemaker and messed with all her children’s lives and… Read more »

Are you folks humor challenged? I am a huge fan of the brilliantly hilarious John Oliver and the cross over with Y&R was unexpected and very very funny.
Do you not watch or even understand John Oliver. I think the salmon flew right over your heads.

Sharon is a great soap actress and she did a really good job in this John Oliver bit.
How she managed to refrain from cracking up, I will never understand. It looked like she was on the verge of it.

Legendary! I want that scene to make it to air. Anyone not watching John Oliver’s show will be rewinding and wondering where the hell that salmon came from!

Winning. I’m impressed with how many people he got to participate in that skit.

they just had to agree to their clip being used..
they took a clip of them waving their hands/ whatever, and put the fish in ..
nobody participated, they just signed a release to use a clip and put a fish in….

Um.. no that isn’t how that worked.

Sharon actually got hit or did you not see her hair get messed up when she was hit. It was a stuffed fish thrown on by a member of tb e Y&R crew fo r the bit.

They just shot an extra scene for John Oliver.

I thought it was great. Especially Tom Hanks and Anderson Cooper.

Yup, these people actually got hit with the fish, so they did have to participate.

Thank you Nicole, and may I saw Sharon Case did an excellent job of remaining dead pan? That look on her face was priceless and it demonstrates really how talented this actress is. I sometimes think she is unappreciated.
Great bit–JimmyFallon was also hilarious

Corbin Bernsen to Reprise His Role of Arnie Becker in ‘LA Law’ Revival Pilot

Corbin Bernsen (Father Todd, The Young and the Restless) and the son of Y&R’s late great Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) has signed on to reprise his signature primetime television role of womanizing lawyer Arnie Becker in the upcoming LA Law revival pilot.

This makes Corbin the co-lead of the series alongside Blair Underwood (Ex-OLTL) who previously signed on to the pilot to reprise his role of Jonathan Rollins.  ABC has greenlit the pilot.

According to Deadline, it is believed that Bernsen and Underwood will be the only original members of the mid 80’s-90’s legal drama on NBC in the pilot, but more may guest-star if the show gets picked up for a full-season order.

In the premise of the reboot, the law firm of McKenzie Brackman, now named Becker Rollins, reinvents itself as a litigation firm specializing in only the most high profile, boundary pushing and incendiary cases.  The show will feature familiar characters working alongside new ones on the most hot button issues of the day.  As for Bernsen’s Becker, now in his 60’s, look for him to struggle with a rapidly shifting sexual and political landscape.

The original LA Law ran for eight seasons from September 15, 1986 to May 19, 1994 on NBC.

So, what do you think of Corbin taking on the role of Arnie Becket in a revival of LA Law? Would you be intrigued to check out the show if it makes it to series? Comment below.
