Tina Casciani Returns to ‘The Young and the Restless’ as Riza Thomson; A Woman From Adam’s Past

The Young and the Restless is bringing back a blast from Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) past, starting with the upcoming Monday, March 23 episode. That’s when actress Tina Casciani returns in the role of Riza Thomson.

The story unfolds as Adam wants to help his half-brother Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) locate and lure Nick’s nemesis, Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) out of hiding. In doing so, that means that Adam has to revisit a haunting part of his past.

Casciani made her Y&R debut in May of 2019 in the story about the search for the whereabouts of Adam Newman, and it was the character of Riza, who was the key to finding an amnesiac Adam alive and well and living in Vegas under the name of “Spider,’ who at the time was quite the card shark. Riza was well-known in the underbelly of the poker scene as the “Queen.”

It was Victor (Eric Braeden) who needed Riza to track down Adam and offered her money to find him, when Adam disappeared. Later, Casciani shared scenes with both Sharon (Sharon Case) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) at different times. Eventually in January of 2020, Adam traveled back to Sin City to see Riza, but he was accompanied at the time by Chance Chancellor (then played by Danny Boaz) who was a cop and ex-FBI.

With Riza back on the scene, is she somehow involved in a drug ring with Matt Clark? The one that is supplying him with Fentanyl pills Matt was trying to force Noah (Lucas Adams) to take in Los Angeles, and then later, he or one of his cronies planted in Nick’s jacket, after Nick broke his leg in the car cash with Matt? Since then, Nick has been taking them to control the pain in his leg, but has become addicted.

The return of Riza Thomson can either spell trouble for both Adam and Nick, or she could lead them to find Matt Clark … or help set a trap for the Newman brothers.

If Casciani looks familiar, other than from her time on Y&R, she has appeared in movies and TV series including: CW’s Jane the Virgin and was a series regular on Pandora in the role of Tierney.

So, excited to see how Tina Casciani’s return as Riza Thomson, might help bring Matt Clark out of hiding? Do you think the Newman brothers will be suckered into a situation putting them both in danger due to Riza and Matt? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

Tuc Watkins (ex-David Vickers, One Life to Live) continues to be booking role after role, and now comes word that the Llanview soap alum has joined the cast of Escorted, the upcoming comedy series from and starring Ted Lasso and Shrinking star, Brett Goldstein.

According to Deadline, Tuc has signed on for the production of the series, where he will play the role of Neil, who looks like a cowboy. However, here’s the catch! Neil is a trainer at a high-end gym and a male escort to wealthy woman on the side. Shades of Llanview’s David Vickers, for sure!

In the premise of Escorted, a divorced Manhattan dad, played by Goldstein, accidentally becomes a male escort in a romantic comedy about sexual dynamics, keeping secrets, and whether real intimacy can ever be bought.
