Hello – This is the way it should be. So happy this is going to happen. Thank you JoAnn

thanks for the oppturnity to say good bye to jeanne cooper

This is the least they can do, as she was Y & R. There is no way possible, the show will ever ever be the same.

Love that they are doing a tribute Michael…Thanks for the update

it wont be the same without her! she was a very good actress! gonna miss seeing her. she will be hard to replace! ive watched the show for 40 years. god bless you all!

Jeanne is a legend! Her kinda talent is becoming a rareity in our youth obssessed entertaiment industry especially on soaps! ill definately not miss the tribute! She was a longtime favorite and iv watched her before she was on y&r!

thank you michael……………..

Well I will have my box of kleenex ready because I’m sure I will crying throughout the whole show. And this is to Michael and/or his team- on your Popular Content section you have up the earlier post that Jeanne is still alive- I know at the time it must have gotten a lot of comments, but now that she has passed I think it might be confusing to see it- some might think she is still alive when she is not–so you might want to take that off the list. Thanks.

Love this and Love Y&R!!! Well Done!!!

I will miss Katherine ( Jeanne Cooper ) She was a gutsy actress on the show and told it the way it was, I think she made the show and am very sorry about her passing. I have watched this story since it started, it will be sad watching it without her. I look forward the the tribute on May 28 with my box of kleenex, So sorry for the families loss, I know what it is like to lose a mother, laugh at all the good memories and god bless her. R.I.P. Queen Katherine.

I’m happy about the decision to honor Mrs. C. Tuesdays date will give the family a chance to recuperate and the producers of Y&R and the family to obtain the best recordings to honor her. I’m going to miss her.

That is wonderful. She deserves several episodes in her honor. She worked on the show for 40 years and in heavy story, not just supporting cast.

I’ll be watching and crying, I’m sure.

So happy to hear it!!! She played an inconic soap genre character and deserves to be honored!!! She will be missed!

Great idea! We all will miss the Duchess.

Great idea! We will all miss the Duchess!

I’ll be watching with a full box of Kleenex – I’ll miss her so MUCH! – this soap will never ever be the same 🙁

I think this is wonderful and she is very worthy and deserving of all accolades bestowed upon her. I will be watching.

Love Jeanne Cooper…..Love it!!! I can’t wait to see it!!!!

À Day to laugh, a day to mourn, one of many to come….

Wonderful!
It’ll be a very sad tribute!

I’m so glad they are doing a tribute to the Duchess, just thought it might be sooner. She will be missed. We always loved her laugh most of all. She was my moms favorite & they passed away 3 months apart. RIP Mrs. C.

I knew there would be a tribute. I never doubted it for a minute.. We know you tape we’ll in advance so you would not know about this till it happened. We just have to be patient. It will happen ASAP. Good luck! We know it will be a great tribute. Mrs. C (Jeanne ) will be sadly missed.

Wonderful Idea! Thank You! There is one Ms “C”

I guess Jill Farren Phelps isn’t so bad after all.

It is awesome that there will be a tribute to her-no one deserves it more. However, I think her final tribute/legacy is that all of the actors that she helped will continue to carry on the work that she so loved and in that love taught them. As well as her children, they are her legacy.

I wonder if the Memorial Day rerun will be a strong Jeanne Cooper episode. Hope so.

If there are going to write her passing into an episode, I think they should combine Bold and The Beautiful with Young and The Restless for one additonal tribute/funeral episode. Pretty much every actor on both shows have worked on one or the other and there has been cross over of characters.

The fans as well as the young and restless cast need this to say a final good bye to a brilliant, talented, wonderful actress and human being. The show must go on but don’t
know how it will without this incredible lady. I truly loved jeanne Cooper as a person and as an actress. As far as the show goes i hope the writers give her the proper send off that she truly deserves. We love you, Mrs. C.

If they are taping 5-6 weeks ahead, Katherine’s death will not happen until at least mid-June unless they edit.

Happy to hear her viewers and fans can be a part of her Celebration of Life. I feel like I lost a family member. RIP Mrs. C

So glad to hear this. Jeanne deserves to be honored. She was the glue of that show and will be missed eternally. I was raised watching her and this soap, as my mother has watched since day one. We both cried..we loved her and it won’t be the same without her. She always felt like another grandmother to me. R.I.P. Jeanne xo

R.I.P JEANNE YOU ARE TRULY AN AMAZING ICON IN THE TV WORLD OF SOAPS YOU WILL BE MISSES BY SO MANY CANT WAIT TO SEE THE MEMORIBLE Y AND R WILL BE DOING IN TOUR HONOR GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR FRIENDS

Very sad news, My wife and I have been watching for years. A tribute fit for the Duchess , she deserves that. You know she will always be Mrs Chancellor in my eyes. I wrote down on a piece of paper the date for the tribute so we don’t miss it and what did I write not Jeanne Cooper but Mrs Chancellor tribute thats how powerful her acting that role was. THE DUCHESS WILL BE MISSED . RIP

I am so glad a tribute will be aired so all of her fans can bid her farewell. A lovely lady and will be missed by many who have followed her as Katherine Chanceller all of these years. My deepest condolences to her family.

Thank God CBS and Sony will honor her in a befitting manner. She gave a good part of the latter part of her life to Y&R. No one deserves it more than she does. And hopefully her real life family will be there to participate and see just how much she was loved by people they will never meet.
The show wont be the same, but if written right this will cause a lot of drama in Genoa City and it will produce some very realistic touching performances because in this case the actors have suffered a real loss. Despite the melodrama, Y+R has always been the most grounded serial. And the loss of Mrs. C will no doubt produce some real poignant drama. Get those tissues ready. God bless Jeanne Cooper .

W. Jeanne Cooper AKA MRS. C…you will be missed enormously…but I know that GOD will have a position for you in HEAVEN..ST. PETER better watch out…you may be sitting behind his desk and telling him who to let through the GOLDEN GATES OF HEAVEN!!!! You can be MY GUARDIAN ANGEL anytime. If you meet Sara Elizabeth Jackson up there…that is my GRAMUS and I started watching Y&R because of her. Onward and Upward to whatever GOD’S next task is for you.

ChinaDoll

I have watch this show since the first day it started. It will never be the same now . She was the show, She loved each of you and all her fans, and all her fans loved her too. How could you not?

RI P Sweet lady and god bless your family for allowing us to share her with us. You will be so missed by all of us.

I found that the young and the restless cast did an excellent job at giving the tribute to Jeanne Cooper – she will be greatly missed – she added spice and alot of elegance and class to the show –

I have watched the show since the early 80’s

‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Layoffs Include 20-Year VP Comms and Talent Relations Veteran Eva Basler

Published

Eva Basler, who served as the longtime communications executive for Bell-Phillip Productions’ The Bold and the Beautiful has exited the long-running soap opera after more than 20 years.

For over two decades, Basler was a key member of the behind the scenes team at the CBS daytime drama series. Eventually, she earned the title of VP Communications and Talent Relations for Bell-Phillip TV Productions, where she was in charge of publicity, marketing social media and more.

According to Deadline, Basler was one of several B&B employees who were quietly laid off recently from the company and that as a beloved member of the team, “worked tirelessly for the organization, even through illness.” In the last few years, Eva has been going through a difficult health journey, where the cast and production team had rallied around her.

In fact, Basler co-authored, along with Brad Bell (executive producer and head writer), The Bold and the Beautiful: In Celebration of Twenty Years on Television, a photographic look at the history of the soap released in 2007 for its 20th anniversary.

EVA BASLER’S IMPRESSIVE WORK IN TELEVISION

Before her long run at B&B, Basler’s TV credits began with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, where she served as a publicist for the annual Oscar telecast for over 10 years. Later, she was invited by the producers of the inaugural SAG Awards and telecast to create and write their official rules. Her contributions to the industry also included her role as the Awards Show Consultant for the SAG Awards, where she oversaw the competition and managed the selection of third-party public relations firms.

In addition, Eva has been an active member of the Television Academy since 2000 where she currently serves as the Governor of Daytime Programming and has participated in the Executive, Primetime Awards, Daytime Awards, Budget, Governors Ball, and Creative Arts Committee, plus she chairs the Membership Committee. Basler led the Governor’s Award Committee for two consecutive years, during and was member of the National Awards Committee for NATAS, which manages among others, the Daytime Emmy competition,

Before coming to The Bold and the Beautiful, Eva was the publicist for the defunct NBC soap opera, Passions from its series launch in 1999 all the away through its conclusion in 2008.

In January 2024, Basler started a three-year term on the NATAS Board of Directors, making her the only person to serve simultaneously on the boards of both the West and East Coast television academies.

Upon learning the heartbreaking news of Basler’s exit, Cassandra Creech (ex-Grace Buckingham, B&B) took to her Instagram and shared, “This goddess…thank you Eva You see me. Beyond her immense gifts, she is someone who treated me with the utmost kindness and respect from day one. Working with someone of her caliber and character is a rare privilege, and her warmth at CBS meant the world to me. She is going to be a massive loss to the daytime community, where her presence always elevated the work. While this chapter is closing, her extraordinary talent ensures that whatever she does next will be brilliant. I am entirely in her corner and cannot wait to watch her next move. Ya’ll give this woman her flowers.”

So, share your thoughts on The Bold and the Beautiful’s decision to part ways with Eva Basler during their recent round of internal company layoffs, given her long-running tenure with the soap via the comment section below.

Spencer Pratt, ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Guest Star and Reality Show Notable, Holds Second Place and Poised for L.A. Mayor Runoff

Published

on

By

As of Wednesday morning June 3, Spencer Pratt (Rich, The Bold and the Beautiful, The Hills et al), who is running for the mayor of Los Angeles, is firmly in second place behind incumbent Mayor Karen Bass in the primary election. Pratt has a comfortable 30% of the vote, ahead of City Councilwoman Nithya Raman at 22%. Bass has 37% of the city’s vote.

In Los Angeles, if no candidate receives more than 50% of all votes cast in Tuesday’s primary, the top two finishers move on to a runoff on November 3rd. The Democratic Bass has already achieved enough votes for the run0ff. Now, it’s a formality to sit-back and wait for the Republican Pratt, till all the votes are counted before he can officially be the runoff.

Pratt told KTLA, “I literally could not be more excited. I got in this because as a citizen I felt like my city failed myself, my neighbors, my family. Mayor Bass has allowed the city to become covered in potholes. Then there’s the moms who want to be able to go to the parks and not see anybody shooting up fentanyl with their pants off.

PRATT CRITICAL OF MAYOR OF LOS ANGELES KAREN BASS

The reality star has been critical of Bass when she was MIA during the LA wildfires where he lost his Pacific Palisades home. It was back in January that Spencer made it clear of his intention to throw his hat into the ring in politics:  Spencer expressed, “I’ve been in the public eye most of my life and there isn’t any dirt you can find on me that hasn’t already been aired. Seems like the only thing people don’t know is my voter registration, so here go: I registered Republican in 2020 and never changed it, and I wasn’t going to change it now just to check a different box. This is a non-partisan race – there will be no D or R next to my name. As Mayor, I will not serve either party. I will work with anyone who wants to help the City. No labels necessary.

FROM REALITY TO SOAP STAR TO AN LA MAYORAL CANDIDATE

Pratt rose to notoriety first appearing in 2005 as a friend of Brody Jenner on the reality series The Princes of Malibu, a series which Pratt, then co-created and executive produced. Later, in 2007, he joined the cast of The Hills, where he dated and eventually married Heidi Montag with whom he shared two children. Both he and Montag previously appeared on The Bold snd the Beautiful back in April of 2025, when they played guests at a Forrester fashion show.

B&B welcomed back reality star as Rich, when he appears on the January 28 episode in scenes with Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy Forrester) and Laneya Grace (Electra Forrester) as Steffy and Electra.

So, what do you think about Spencer Pratt’s bid to become the Mayor of Los Angeles? He would follow a long line of “celebrities” who eventually made into public office.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST AND OTHER TOP HITS

Bryson is best-known for his vocal performances and string of hits including his duets with Celine Dion of the title track of Disney’s 1991 Beauty and the Beast, and his solo vocal work in the film version of Aladdin’s 1992 “A Whole New World.” Peabo had a slew of R&B hits throughout his career including: “Tonight I Celebrate My Love,” with the late Roberta Flack, “Feel the Fire,” to his top hit “If Ever You’re in My Arms Again,” to “Can You Stop the Rain,” and many more.

“TONIGHT I CELEBRATE MY LOVE” BECAME BO AND HOPE’S THEME

In fact, “Tonight I Celebrate My Love” became the iconic theme song of the enduring romance between Days of Our Lives super couple, Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) and Hope Williams (Kristian Alfonso) for years. The moment occurred in 1983, when Hope turned 18 at her party she danced the night away with Bo to the memorable song. “Tonight I Celebrate My Love” also went to number #1 on the Billboard charts.

ONE LIFE TO LIVE MAIN THEME SONG WITH VOCALS

However, One Life to Live fans remember Bryson’s voice as the singer on the the 1985 new modern theme song, (since many of the soaps of that time were going to more vocals in their opening title sequences), where they took the previous instrumental version of their title sequence and adapted it as the main theme. That theme song ran for seven years on the ABC daytime drama series from 1985-1991. In fact, Bryson appeared on One Life to Live in 1985 to perform the main theme song.

In addition, Peabo returned to ABC daytime when he appeared on All My Children in 1992, Bryson’s song “I Found Love” was used to for the love story of Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) and Dimitri Marick (Michael Nader) and received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 1993 for Best Original Song.

That same year, Bryson would make a guest appearance in Pine Valley, where he performing a rendition of “Tonight I Celebrate My Love” with Tonya Perkins (Livia Frye), at Livia’s and Tom Cudahy’s (Richard Shoberg) wedding reception.

Share your condolences and remembrances of Peabo Bryson and take a look and listen to his vocals from the One Life to Live theme song of the mid 80s to early 90s.
