THIS WEEK: Denise Alexander Returns To General Hospital As Lesley Webber!

General Hospital fans were hoping to see Denise Alexander return for the GH 50 celebration in April, but instead of that she is returning to be part of an important moment in a major story for May Sweeps! Watch this week as Denise makes her return as Laura’s (Genie Francis) mother!
With Laura and Scotty (Kin Shriner) looking as if they might be making it official … the question, is will they even make it to their “I do’s”? We have heard previously from Nikolas (Tyler Christopher) that Lesley had been in Europe taking care of his son, Spencer!
Denise Alexander has been a favorite for General Hospital fans since the 70’s were she was part of the torrid, Rick/Lesley/Monica/Alan quandrangle, which included the heartbreaking search for her daughter, a young Laura!
What do you think will happen when Lesley return to Port Charles? Are you excited to see Denise again on GH? Let us know!
all i can say is finally. welcome home Denise.
I always loved Denise Alexander as Lesley. A real class act. I start watching back in the day of the triangle. Have always hoped she’d return at length and get involved in a plot with substance, rather than just passing thru. I hope it happens this time!
Ditto welcome home Denise..stay for awhile..
I was hoping LuLu would “snap” out of it, when Gramma Leslie hugged her at Windamere. After all, Gramma Leslie raised her, and it would be so appropriate!
It is a wonderful day!!!!!
LOVE Denise and I always have! Hope Lesley will stick around for awhile. And STILL hope to see Peter Hansen and/or Susan Brown appear as Scotty’s parents.
Peter Hansen is now 91 ..i dont think that he will be back..but it sure would be nice to see..
I am happy to see her but I am wondering were Luke and Laura joking about Leslie’s relationship with Monica. I thought that was all water under the bridge?
I was always a fan of Susan Brown. I think I remember her from another soap. “Bright Promise” on NBC in the late 60’s or early 70’s. I like to see her come back for the wedding.
Yep, it was water under the bridge. They said their peace at Emily’s funeral. BUT………..I will love ANY scenes they have together and a little argument or two would be fun to watch. They are friends in real life and I think they would enjoy some friction on screen!
@DSM0805 can you please elaborate on the patching up scene between Leslie and Monica? I must have missed Emily’s funeral and not seen that. Thanks!
There is no reply button for me to send this to Jake R directly but here is the link. Lesley/Monica scene starts at 7:17.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHn6iGoho9Y
@DSM0805-THANK YOU for sending that link. Unfortunately I didn’t get an email saying you replied to me; I just happened to revisit this page and saw your link.
I must not have watched Emily’s funeral because NONE of that looked familiar to me. I wasn’t that steady a viewer during the Julie Farren Phelps era. It was a touching scene though between Leslie and Monica.
It was also nice to see that even with all the budget cuts in those dark days, a funeral with multiple regular cast members in attendance; even Dillon Q. made an appearance. I remember Robin’s funeral from last year and there were all these extras in the church pews-it was embarrassing to watch!
Now i really wish Alan and Rick showed up alive…with them alive and Leslie returning wouldve gave great balance to the show. There arent any men in PC in their age group!
Yep, those 4 were GH to me!
Love her–hope she stays around a for a while!!Would love to see her in a storyline invoving Monica!
LOVE IT …. Hope she stays. Bring Rick back to life.
FINALLY!!!!!!! Over the moon about this one and hope she has a bit of a storyline on her own besides just being Laura’s mom, although they are the best mother daughter team ever! Would like to see the rivalry between Lesley and Monica heat up and then perhaps even a Thelma and Louise type adventure for the two of them. Wouldn’t that be a hoot?
Oh yes………I am over the moon as well (GHRickLesley) I have been waiting a long time for this and I want Rick back ALIVE! I do want some Monica/Lesley scenes and as you can see she is feisty as ever, LOVE IT!!
Welcome back, Denise-too bad some “fans” won’t appreciate it
Finally is right! Laura and Lesley ARE General Hospital for me.
THRILLED!! She is an integral part of GH history, and its present and future will be greatly improved if they make use of her talent!!
Soap royalty – she carried General Hospital before Luke and Laura in the 70,s and early 80,s. SHe was missed during the 50h celebration. Welcome back Ms. Alexander!
Hurray, i have always loved Lesley, love to have the classic characters back, enought of the newbies!!! I hope that she brings young Spencer with her, and maybe Alfred.
Always !!
very excited
Yay! Hoping that the story will address that throw-away line that Ghost Rick had when Tracy accused him of what went down with the mistress and Scott in the attic– “That’s not what happened!”
That whole story was a bogus bunch of poo. Rick would have never ever been in that situation – bringing back a favorite vet to screw up history like that – those writers of that mess should be brought up on charges!
You said it! A whole lot of damage was done when they ruined him in 2002 and everything his character stood for! I was hoping for better from these writers and I hope they still find a way to pull it off! I need a Rick/Lesley happy ending. My favorite couple of all time.
I honestly thought when I had heard “Rick” was coming back to “GH” for the Fiftieth Anniversary that Luke & Laura were going to find him on “The Haunted Star” or on Cassadine Island. It would turn out he had been kidnapped by the Cassadines and replaced with a lookalike double and that it was the double who got into that trouble in the attic with Laura whom Scott ended up killing. Then Laura’s whole breakdown and comatose state could be blamed on Helena’s curse. Unfortunately none of that happened-it was just a throwaway scene with Chris Robinson.
That is so great!! Love Denise!
Great. About time someone on this show was over 50 or at least admits to it.. We need some parents on the show,I guess they think these kids were grown in a cabbage patch..I can only remember seeing laura interact with her grandchildren once. Anna never goes near Emma.Tracy sees more of Michael than his grandmother does,as when will Monica see Danny. Families are where its at. welcome back to Denise and lets hope it doesn’t last for just a week,
Yea!!! Can’t wait!!!
I want some Lesley and Monica “fight” scenes like this one:
Awesome – I may actually watch the episodes she is part of. I am still pissed that she and Rick never ever got closure. When Rick came back a decade ago for that STUPID storyline with Scott, he was more concerned with Monica and again with the 50th anniversary again with Monica – Lesley was supposedly the love of his life! No fair! He married that vomitous Ginny Blake and went off into the sunset and Lesley returned from the dead and no one bothered to call Rick and tell him his wife was alive! Then he comes back and they don’t even spend a nano second together – UNFAIR!! Give us an “angel” Rick visiting Lesley and give us LONG suffering Rick and Lesley fans our closure!!
Could not agree more with EVERYTHING you just said!!!
Yep Karen, I have many posts on here already. My favorite daytime actress ever. The Rick/Lesley love story was my favorite. I cannot believe the disrespect GH writers have shown to Rick & Lesley fans. There are obviously a lot of them and they haven’t been a couple for almost 30 years……….just goes to show you how much of an impact they did have! Pleading with GH writers to give us Rick/Lesley fans a happy ending!
Welcome back denise. we all missed you so much. she is a wonderful actress. she has a nice smile. denise looks great for her age. she is 73 years old. she is a classy sassy lady. i hope they keep her on gh for a while.
Awesome! So happy to hear the news! Bring back Jack Wagner again!
I love this page. Everyone is so happy, excited and not constantly PICKING at GH like so many others. GH is in a great place right now thanks to Frank and Ron. I can’t wait to see more from this year on GH! 🙂 YAY!
Lesley’s return could play quite well into the A.J./Elizabeth/Nikolas triangle! With the longtime rivalry with Monica, we can easily see Lesley supporting her grandson while Monica supports her son! For longtime GH viewers like me, what makes it more amazing is that the guys are fighting over the daughter of Jeff Webber, whose brother Rick was married to Lesley, while Jeff’s first wife was none other than….. Monica!!!!
Been loving all the returning classic characters but THIS is one of the ones I have been waiting for the most!! Love Lesley Webber. Was always one of my favorite characters. And Miss Alexander Is one of my favorite daytime actresses. Loved her on GH and on Another World as Mary!!!
love Denise since I was ten. Watched GH until 1984 when her character was killed off.
Elated to see her-would love for Rick to come back too
Donna, you sound just like me. I too have watched her since I was 10 years old and she instantly became my favorite. She will always be my favorite too.
I am soooooooo glad she is back! I wanted her back for the 50th but I will take her any day! Love her and you said it, the best quadrangle in soap history Lesley./Rick/Monica/Alan! It is what drew me in and I was hooked before the Luke & Laura hype. Today was a great day on GH, Laura, Scotty, Lucy, Luke & Lesley now that is the GH I want to see more of! Would really like some closure with the Rick situation, somehow that has got to be corrected. I don’t care if he is a ghost he needs to visit Lesley! My favorite couple in daytime and I watched all 3 networks at one time or another.
She looks so great! It is so good to have her back! Spencer is adorable… he shoulg meet Emma!
yes it is great to see Denise back as Laura’s Mother
Please keep as many of the “oldies” as you can. I’ve been watching for 50 years and love all the familiar faces including the “GHOSTS” that appeared in April. Memories are what GH is made of.
I loved seeing her back on GH and spencer has grown into a cute little young boy I to believe he should meet Emma they would be such good friends like Robin and Nicolas were
Welcome Home Denise!!!
It was great seeing her back at GH, but she looks like she has trouble walking and standing. Is there anything wrong with her?
Loved seeing her back at GH, but she looks like she has trouble walking. Is there anything wrong?
Oh yes!! I’m so excited to see Denise Alexander on GH again!!! She looks so awesome for her age and she’s in great shape too….Would like to know what she’s doing to stay in shape……
Love that so many others have posted the same thing I have been thinking. So, so happy to see Denise Alexander back on GH as the wonderful, feisty Lesley Webber. Hoping she stays around a long time, and that the debacle with Rick can be rewritten. Also looking for great scenes with Monica. Love the comment above about a “Thelma & Louise” story for them – maybe Lesley & Monica learn that Rick really is alive and team up to go find him and rescue him. THAT would be a story I would watch every day!
welcome back Denise you were greatly miss.
I’m confused….I thought Leslie died in a car accident in the early 80s….how did she come back?
How can they bring Leslie back? She died in a car accident!!!
Love having Denise back
, does anyone else notice she has difficulty walking?
Love Denise Alexander welcome back to the show

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
