The new ABC promo for this week’s episodes of General Hospital is pretty soapalicious!  First, Jason and John McBain go  toe to toe over Sam!

Meanwhile, Florencia Lozano makes her long awaited GH debut as Tea Delgado comes to Port Charles and gets into some heavy duty conflict with the returning Roger Howarth as Todd Manning.

Carly informs Johnny payback is a bitch for his part in sleeping with Kate/Connie! And as for Sonny, everyone is after him to take him down, but he will fight till the bitter end against all his enemies.  Will he win out … again?

Watch the promo after the jump! Then let us know what you are looking forward to the most! And, what you hope happens between Jason/Sam/McBain, Tea/Todd, and Carly/Johnny/Sonny/Kate/Connie and more!

I’m hoping Sam stays with Jason, that her baby lives and doesn’t get switched, I would love for John and sam to be brother and sister. that tea has twins, and finds out victor is alive, for Blair, little sam (recast), Jack(also recast) and Viki come to PC and Blair gets back together with Todd, and stays with him this time, it’s about time that GH has a few couples who stay together like in the old days. the mob stories need to become back burnered.

I agree Sharon. GH stop trying to fabricate a connection between Sam and John. There is a reason why John and Natalie were popular on OLTL so bring Nat and Liam over to GH! Along a Nat and Jason pairing would serve John right for cheating with Sam.

i totally agfree with you hope sam stays with jason not john macbain i won’t be surpise if sam with john

Hi Michael. I know I keep asking same question. But, can u make my wish come true and tell me Jack Wagner is coming to GH as Frisco to reunite with,Felicia and his family please.
I hope he does return and Kimberly Mccullough as Robin to reunite with Jason Thompson Patrick and her daughter Emma.
I,know ur tired hearing from,me and im sorry. 🙁

[email protected]

I soooo want JW to return to PC as Frisco! Come on Cartini, you guys have made a tremendous job with the show…now plz do us one little favour and bring JW back!

I heard that Jack and Kristen had a very bad divorce, and that Jack refuses to work with her.

that’s because Jack is a sex addicted phony asshole.

I have only this to say, “McBain, leave Sam alone! If you want to live and see your son, Liam, grow, leave Sam be!

Looks intense. I am glad to know Tea can’t stand the sight of Todd–I can’t either. If Jason doesn’t want McBain around Sam, maybe Jason should have treated her better. Ratings for GH can only improve.

Seriously, I can’t get over how terribly Jason is treating sam, Cant wait to see tea let Todd have it, Hopefully Victor is close by, May is going to be interesting for the characters of Port charles. Isn’t general hospital so good again, With the help of our One life to live cross overs.

I agree with Barbara t………………….. I agree with you totally.. We are on the same page…OLTL cross overs………………..

Yay!! Tea!!!
So glad Carly is being Carly. -Totally vicious once she’s been messed with. True to form!
Not sure about the Sam/Jason/McBain thing yet but I definitely think Jason is acting like an ass. I’m not digging him at all right now. Where is Natalie? John is not a cheat!
Poor Kate.

I hope John won’t cheat on Natalie……………Sam belongs with Jason…………….

GH has been THIS GOOD IN YEARS! I stopped watching a long time ago when it became the same tired retold mafia show. THe characters were boring, the stories were boring and it simply sucked. Since it has been in the hands of Ron and Frank it has become MUST SEE TV! LOVE IT!! And Kudos to the actress playing Kate/Connie. She is FANTASTIC! Megan Ward was not cast well…TOO stale white bread but this woman ROCKS! And John makes Sam interesting again! KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK and I’ll never miss a day again:)

Thats HASN’T been this good 🙂

Yes it is much better (GH)…………

I agree John makes Sam interesting, she was never interesting before. I think she should turn out to be his presumed dead little sister as that would explain their connection while paying fidelity to Natalie and John’s romance.

I agree Joe! I find myself looking forward to GH every day when up until just recently I only watched it to support our soaps. I genuinely look forward to it now. There has been a gradual turnaround-due to Ron & Frank & it is paying off. Loving it (still miss OLTL though, miss it bad)

Don’t want a McBain/Sam pairing or triangle. McBain loves Natalie & Liam. OLTL fans deserve their happy ending!

I’m w/u MBmomof3!!! I’m not getting the Jolie and Jasam dynamic. 1 day McBain seems like a devoted husband (that’s where they suedo left it, Natalie married a cop) and dad (w/the calls and trip back). Then another day there’s similar lines and plot points John and Natalie had, but using Sam in Nat’s place. I remember the John, Evang and Nat triangle–least they were all single and on the canvas. It was a good triangle, both women were good prospects. But this…It’s all frustrating. I’m a JOLIE fan so I know couples break up, etc…. But do something about the family already, make McBain’s intentions more clear and be more creative at least if they’re going the McBam route. I’m not a personal fan of McBam, but do it rgt and creative at least. Not to mention the whole Jasam, they tried for so long to have a baby and now this Franco mess. I would like to see Jason/SB step up and really work it. He re-newed his contract too I hear. When i was frustrated w/one couple on OLTL I bounced to another. Now I don’t have any on GH. Miss Robin and Pat. UGhh…I wonder and hope MA comes.

Who’s JOLIE???????????????I am a fan of John McBain & Natalie & many others from OLTL……………………..I like seeing them on GH…Because I miss my favorite soap(OLTL)………………

John and Nat’s fanbase combine the names and came up w/”JOLIE”. A short cut name for the couple. I had to get familiar w/some of the soap board terms. They’ve been referenced Jolie for a while now, as far as i know.

I agree COMPLETELY!

Yeah, it all seems so contrived–let’s show case what ME can do w/his words, gestures, etc.. no matter if i makes sense or not. So what if Sam is preggers and about to drop any day, let’s recycle the popular Jolie hightlighted stories. No 1 will notice……

wow tea back on screen looking foward to it she is great actress and guess carly will be getting revenge back on johnny just do not know what her plan is hmmm

are you nuts? She is a horrible actress–the only thing she knows how to do is to shriek.

She isn’t a terrible actress….And I don’t think she shrieks at all……..If Todd did something wrong, she let’s him know about it…That’s sticking up for yourself….

Well if kathy is nuts so am I, I cant wait to see tea, shes a great actress and will enjoy watching her in the courtroom up against diane or alexis.

Not gonna lie…I may of squeeled when I saw Tea! CAN’T WAIT!!

So did I, I hear she will be on wednesday. CANT WAIT EITHER.

I will be watching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tea will be so Good on GH! I would think Nat would have followed John to PC by now!

Can’t wait for Tea! Love John and Natalie together finally leave them alone bring Nat to GH! Jason and Sam need to work things out! Loving GH right now!

Tea is dreadful, dreadful–she is an assault on the audio processing system. She’s also a deplorable actress–please make her go away.

I agree with Mary H………….

I agree with you Mary H.

This week Tea & Todd??? LOVE it!!!

So am I !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will be even better when Todd and Blair are together!

Looks great!!! Love that Tea is coming to PC!!! Wish TSJ as Victor would be coming too! This is looking great and the ratings should go up! McBain can be related to Sam. I can’t wait to see Carly and Tea together would loke to see them be mixed up together and eventualy become friends. Not as excited about RH coming back still wish it were TSJ coming on the GH canvas. Still want Kate/Connie to get committed and out of PC… just not liking that storyline. Can’t wait to see what else they throw at MB he handles it so well.

BORING! Nothing and nobody I care about.

Words cannot say how excited I am to see Tea and Todd returning. I miss OLTL more than any show I have ever watched on television. Thanks to the fantastic writers and Frank Valentini for bring Llanview to Port Charles. Next is going to be TSJ to finalize the OLTL storyline. All I can hope is that they stay on the show for good. Then they need to bring Vicki to help Kate. This is getting so good I can’t stand it. Thanks Ron and Frank, I have happiness again.

I look forward to that caterwauling shrew Tea to leave–why on earth would Ron bring back that obnoxious shrieking bitch when the fans detest her? I look forward to Blair coming back as well as Todd. I am enjoying John McBain on GH as he is making both Sonny and Jason look silly and small.

UMM the fans love Tea and the actress. If you dont like it then take ur (nobody asked or cares for your opinion) thought somewhere Ok PLZ AND DONT EVER COME BACK!!!

Think you’re in the minority when you say “fans detest her”. Besides you, who are you referring to? Kinda don’t think Ron & Frank would bring back a character that the fans hate, they’re better businessmen than that!

Your right fan.

Gosh, what did Tea ever do to you? She has always been a favorite-actress AND character. You are MOST definitely in the minority here. I love Blair too but she has certainly had her moments, as has Carly! Every girl on the soaps is shrieking & obnoxious once in a while, ha!

You are so wrong… your point of view, which you are entitled too, is certainly not mine. Tea is the best !!!

That’s not a very nice thing to say about tea…………………..I like both Tea & Blair…You are totally wrong about Tea……………………….I like John McBain a lot ….

I don’t think Tea is a B-t-h…That’s my opinion………………

Either do I.

I just know I could have done without the character of Starr coming over I am telling you and I hate being mean but her scenes are like nails going down a chalkboard. Her facial expressions everything for me personally I just mute the sound button or FF. A suggestion take acting classes please!! I felt the whole scenes with the gun and Sonny was cheesy. Just make it stop I hate she is getting so much air time and now with Tea and Todd coming to town that is all we will see. Concerning John McBain he even said ME that they did not really want to write for he and Natalie, personally I liked Natalie when she was with the character Christian.

I toally disagree with your comments about OLTL cross overs to GH……….Seems like you didn’t like OLTL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There’s nothing wrong with her acting………..I keep the sound button ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And she doesn’t need acting classes…And it wasn’t CHEESY when she had the gun on Sonny..Everyone get’s their turn on the air time comment…I don’t remember John saying that at all. And John belongs with Natalie.. They are soul mates & they have a baby boy together…Never liked Christian w./ Natalie….Natalie & john alway’s had that special connection… From day one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I miss OLTL & all the actors & actresses …And my favorites..I enjoy seeing them on GH………………… Aren’t you being a bit harsh………Did you like OLTL???

I don’t know where they found the baby who played Liam, but he looks so much like ME. The casting of John, Nat and then Liam, was through the roof!! The baby even connected so well w/ME, so comfortable w/each other. It was funny during the whole paternity thing at the time. I’m sitt’n there and thinking huh, not John’s, looks just like him:)

Michael Easton made a few comments about he and Melissa Archer taking so long to get back together in an interview with Michael Logan! Yes I did like OLTL but no I was never a big fan of Starr and I feel she is a weak actress everyone has their favorites she just was never one of mine.

I still don’t think so.. I don’t remember the comments about michael easton intterview…Don’t know who michael logan is….I have some that weren’t my faviortes either…Aren’t you being a bit harsh on Starr………..

So depressing that people in 2012 are praising a show like GH, where a man slept with a mentally ill woman; where an alleged rape victim has to worry about upsetting her HUSBAND; where weak, fragile, delicate wimmens cry and pray to be saved by their big, strong boyfriends; where mental illness is played for entertainment value and comedy; where mobsters still swallow up every single day and women fawn over them.

You people are setting back the women’s movement at least 40 years. And it really is very sad.

I wish Ken Corday had the insight/balls to hire Frank/Ron before GH did. They are the best producer, writer team since Paul Rauch and Harding Lemay during “Another World’s” Golden years. I can’t stop watching GH since they took over! Instead of DVRing GH and forcing myself to watch it (or skipping it altogether)- I can;t wait to see what the writers have come up with next.
Days, however, is in BIG trouble. I don’t understand why Corday, who owns his own show and does not have the same production limitations as other producers, can be so shortsighted. The only interesting storyline on Days was the gay /Will Horton coming out plot. If you don’t watch Days, words cannot describe how much that have screwed up that storyline. It’s like they came up with rich emotional circumstances with characters that we have loved for years- the very recipe for riveting, compelling soap opera. And then- they dropped the ball. Now Will comes on intermittently, and the whole story now seems just plain contrived. It is SO disappointing. Especially since they replaced the Will Horton story with BORING, UNWATCHABLE drivel. Believe or not, GH fans, Days actually has had a week long story arc, consisting of 5 MAIN character caught in a safe house before a bomb goes off. Well, since only one of the 5 has been fired from the show, and she just finished filming her final scenes now (the show tapes over 2 months in advance)- guess what happens? After 5 days of “suspense”- everyone is just fine. Do they think Days viewers are morons? I suppose they do. However, during this vital, important time for soap opera survival, I’m surprised Ken Corday is not more proactive and astute in his attempts to save his own show. The problem with Days is NOT the actors (even though they insist on hiring, firing, re-hiring, and then re-firing their veteran actors- I give poor Lisa Rinna another 2 months tops on this go round.)The problem with Days is that Corday needs to hire a producer and writing team with actual talent and soap opera instincts. Soap viewers want to watch emotional, and sometimes over-the-top stories with their favorite characters.
Sorry, I know this is a GH article I’m reacting to. But I’m jealous- I want Days to have the same shot at survival as GH is currently getting. However, that chance becomes increasingly remote the longer Days refuses tell authentic, compelling soap stories. Maybe, just maybe, Frank and Ron can spare a few hours during their workweek and offer some consulting services for the idiots that run Days. If not, that damn hourglass is gonna run out of sand in a hurry.

i was a huge g.l. fan and when the light went out i moved onto oltl. i moved onto g.h only because of the oltl crossover. i have been watching g.h since the day oltl went off the air. i must say when i first started watching the show i thought it was terrible and wondered why abc cancelled oltl instead of g.h. i kept watching because i knew it could only get better once the oltl people hit port charles. well i was right, i think the show is great and cant wait to watch the next episode. i am loving john mcbain and can’t wait for tea’ to arrive in p.c. keep carly with johnny, he is so fine. john mcbain is fine too and i like him with sam, they are good together and i don’t mean as brother and sister.
keep g.h alive its the best soap on tv.

Did anyone actually see this promo broadcast on ABC? I am wondering if ABC is doing anything to actively promote GH.

I am so sick and tired of people wanting Frisco and Felicia. That was from a long time ago and frankly Felicia is a terrible actress. Move forward people stop begging for the past to return. I love the show now but it was horrible before Frank and Ron took over. I wake up every day and can’t wait to see GH. That is a sign of a great show. To me it is the best show ABC has on the air. By the way, Felicia has not aged well, just saying. I want her to go away with Mac (unnecessary character). Anna can be the chief and Mcbain under her. Ha ha I am not a writer nor will I tell any of them what to do.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

on

By

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
