Talk about cranking it up a notch! Check out this new promo for this week’s General Hospital!

As John and Sonny have their final showdown over what happened to McBain’s sister, Sam searches for the truth believing her baby is alive, and the recent revelation that the audience knows that Sam’s baby is actually Jason’s, and add all that to the summer heat and lovin’ going on in Port Charles, and there is plenty of action on GH.

But perhaps the most interesting; is the moment where Luke and Anna jump into each others arms and end up against the door! Could this be the start of the Luke and Anna romance? We dig the idea.  How about you?  Weigh in and let us know what you think of  Luke/Anna romance and all the on-goings in Port Charles!

LOL, I can’t wait to see Tracy walk in on Luke and Anna in bed together!

Luke Spencer is a repulsive character. Can’t believe they are throwing the once great character of Anna Devane under that bus…

Bring back Robert ASAP

I love the character od Robert Scorpio and would love to see him again.

Tristan Rogers is heading back to Y&R so he’s not available.

John McBain come back to Port Charles … Only a short vist back to Llanview….I want him back on GH ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think he is only going to landview for a visit and we are going to visit landview to, I heard they are making sets of our favorite place so Don’t worry I don’t think we lost Our John Mcbain.

GH is whack and lame, I dvr epi’s but end of deleting them because I know the story lines are horrible and the characters have become so annoying. It also lacks diversity.

Aren’t you being a bit harsh………………..I am enjoying GH these days…I see nothing wrong with the story lines or the charcters…. I didn’t like it before with all the shootem up stories…………………………………Revenge & vendettas…I like it a lot these days….

I think it would be funny if Luke had a ‘day-mare’ of waking up between Tracy and Anna – him sitting up in bed and both of them completely knocked out on either side of him and maybe Heather could walk in with a breakfast tray like it’s no big deal. That would be funny!

That would be funny, better then having Anna and Luke together for real, I said it’s a bad dream, No way do I want to see Luke and anna together, That picture above with those two kissing seems creepy to me I don’t like it, I hope I don’t have to look away when ever those two will be on, I don’t have one of those ff machines, guess I could use one now.

I agree. Creepy and gross to see Anna throw herself at and jump on Luke. Not sure who, if anyone, will find this appealing. Not looking forward to this.

I like Luke and Tracy together. I was hoping they would be reunited with Anthony’s death. Isn’t that what Luke wanted? But now he can’t keep his hands off of Anna? What a dog.

Anna and Luke ? Interesting for a lark – but I think ultimately Luke and Tracy belong together.

That’s how I feel to I like Tracy and luke, Have to find someone else for Anna. Right now I can’t figure out who that should be.

Anna + Luke = No.

I say no to.

I like Luke with Tracy, but this does sound good.

Maybe it’s a bad dream that Luke is having because he is screwed up over tracys kiss yesterday, He wasn’t expecting it, I like Tracy and luke together they are cute, We have to come up with a nice man for Anna she can’t stay single for long, but a roll in the hay with a friend not going to work. Anna move out as soon as you can, go live with Patrick and Emma they need you. Would be nice if your ex Dr. David hayward from all my children decided to pop up in port charles they were good together. and I have always said they have unfinished business together, FORGET LUKE HE BELONGS WITH TRACY.

Why must every woman over the age of 40 on this show want Luke Spencer? I mean seriously on what planet would this even remotely resemble reality?

Another great female character sacrificed at the alter of Luke Spencer. Laura, Holly, Felicia, Tracy, heather and now Anna. ENOUGH Already

I don’t mind Laura, Holly, and Tracy being with Luke. But the rest I have a problem with. Felicia has no chemistry with the man. Anna and Luke together is just awkward to watch. And Heather – her whole “history” with Luke is just an ill-written retcon by former head writer Bob Guza. The fact that Ron chose to continue this “relationship” angers me to no end.

I agree about your points on Laura, Holly, Tracy, and Felicia. I think the chemistry is great betwenn Luke and Anna but, I do not think they should be a couple. I don’t think Ron is trying to put Luke and Heather together as a couple. I think he is using Luke to illustrate Heather’s mental illness.

This is the funniest comment and so true. I don’t get him either. In what reality would an intelligent, self-respecting woman want this alcoholic, has-been, broke, drifting, unemployed, con artist? Only in a soap opera where he is a lead character and she has no choice because she doesn’t dictate the storyline.

I also hated that they made him the Patriarch of the show. Alan Q had his flaws but he grew up and became respectable (The closest thing to Steve Hardy) Luke will never be Alan or a Steve.

LOL! (David) that is one of the funniest posts…. too funny! I never thought of him that way… Mr. Grifter… I like how he just scams his hotel room and meals, from niece Carly. she just signs off on his BILLS. or, you can always find Luke, in his casino/bar…. preaching he’s not an alcoholic… as his kids come to visit.

We Need Bobbi! Jackie Zeman! NOW!

Disgusted, I am as Disgusted as you are. no luke and anna. Love your post.

Yes, no Luke & Anna…Luke & Tracy !!!!!!

Disgusted! Right On Mr. Geary in my book was never a romantic lead he was good with Genie Francis decades ago. But then a lot of people had problems with that pairing. Just Yuck. Look they are doing the same thing over at Y&R with EB. Just creepy! I can’t wait until Anna finds out about Luke’s lie concerning Robert S— will hit the fan!

The worst actress right now on GH is Starr (Kristen Alderson). Of all the talented actors and actresses out there could they not find someone who could act. A paper bag has more talent.

Why are some soap fans knocking down Starr?????// Again I like Starr & see nothing wrong with her acting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I “m going to have to disagree on this one…

I’m a OLTL soap fan.. And like seeing them on GH…..I’m a loyal soap fan of OLTL…….

I agree with you Susan m there’s nothing wrong with Starr or her acting.

sam and jason ……coming soon

Who knows, the way he has treated Sam it may be a while, he is going to have to buy a lot of flowers, candy, and some jewelry, and he better start talking his way out of all the things he has done to Sam, first why he thought of himself instead of Sam when they thought she was raped by that franco guy. then having John beaten up, because of his actions the baby, Wink, wink, is dead also telling her to put the baby up for adoption, Myself, it would be a cold day in hell before I would ever forgive Jason. Guess we will see in time what will happen with those two.

I love watching any kind of interaction between Anna & Luke! There’s an electricity there that needs to be explored. However, a large part of their appeal for me was watching that build up & tension, originating in grief & friendship into perhaps more…and while they definitely need to hookup for a bit, I do think that ultimately Luke should end up long term with Tracy.
I hope it’s done in a serious manner, similar in format to the depth of their friendship thus far. Personally, I tend to think soap love scenes can be awkward/cheesy at times, so I’m hoping this will be fairly cool. Don’t get me wrong, I too like watching a good hookup(hehe), but sometimes less is more, and it would be cool to see it shot in a different way. Regardless, I am looking forward to watching Anything between these two amazing actors…and so grateful the gorg Finola is back! Especially excited to see what Heather is going to try to do to Anna (would love a Grant Putnam-esque s/l…and then Faison rescues)! Exciting stuff!
P.S. Seriously…just now realizing after writing these long winded opinions, that I am completely addicted to GH again. I blame Frank Valentini & Finola!

Watch it Possum, all the rabid OLTL fanatics will hunt you down LOL

Hey jeff, I am a fan of general hospital and One life to l’ve watch both soaps since the beginning almost 50 years for gh, From all the posts I have read here and at other sights the general hospital fans are the most Rabid of them all lol.

What is going to happen with John’s character now that he is going back to Llanview to be back with Natalie & baby Liam….Is he taking a little vacation & be back on GH…One of the resons I watch GH is I like seeing Michael Easton on it……Will he be back in Port Charles??????? I thought he’s part of the GH cast now…..He better be stayin…………………

I love both Luke and Anna, but not together, wish this wasn’t happening, a storyline of friendship would of been more unique, but like i’ve said before, RC and FV are about putting every soap cliche into a show, its like they can’t help themselves to go for the obvious, they lack imagination, or originality.

I agree about Luke and Anna…I like them as friends, but watching them kiss was incestous.

I also agree about RC&FV…they couldn’t write an original idea if their lives depended on it. Everything they’ve done so far has been a re-hash of OLTL.

Will somebody please stop the train wreck of violence on GH? Today, I listened to Sonny recount the death of McBain’s sister by some mobster’s son and watched Connie relive her rape by the same man. Can’t GH have a storyline that doesn’t involve murder, rape, or violence? The mobster’s son will probably be played by Richard Steinmetz (see Michael’s May 24, 2012 report on GH casting news).

I think you are right about Richard Steinmetz.

Hopefully general hospital will continue after this summer, I heard that Luke will not be going on any long vacation this year I hope it’s not the end of our soap, anyway here is some news just left tv line.com and they are showing Katie courics first promo, Looks like a toothpaste advertizement to me looks like she is selling her teeth, what a waste of daytime tv I believe that katie and Oprah are two of the most over rated ladies on television, we could loose general hospital because of her now that abc put good afternoon america on where that awful revolution was. How I hate abc.

Don’t watch K. couric & her ratings will flop just like The Revolution did….

Don’t forget abc just gave us another road block starting july 9th with that good afternoon america more news crap show, we have to continue to stay away from that 2 o’clock hour, Abc said if that show does good in the ratings for nine weeks it stays.

That’s another show I will put on my boycott list of shows not to watch EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!Another news crap show…ABC is so reptiative …We have so many news shows , cooking shows, info-reality……They seem to come up with the same borins shows….These shows aren’t anythin new…….Same old CRAP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give us our stories not this JUNK!!!!!!

Same boring shows…ABC needs a reality check………They have the same old Ideas…That will not work out with the soap fans…WE WANT OUR STORIES!!!!Erika Sleszak is enjoying spending time with her family & sleeping late..She said she misses her daily working schedule from OLTL..I read this in the soap digest magazine today (Sat)………………

Anna and Luke? Only a temporary coupling. There is nothing but years of non-sexual friendship for them to build on. In real life that may be enough for a marriage of mature individuals, but on the soaps it isn’t. Luke will in some way reunite with Laura, even if it is on his deathbed, and Anna will find a way to reunite with Robert. Luke and Anna make good friends and entertaining roommates. Anything more is a tease but nothing more.

Can’t see Luke with Anna..It’s like mixing apples and oranges together….They don’t make a good couple.. They should stay friends…..Luke should go with TRACY…. She would make life interesting & it would never be boring….

I don’t have a strong opinion… for either, or… cause, i’m a big Skyy fan… Skyy with Luke was a big deal… and throw in Lorenzo.. and this was a hot trio…

1. when Anna was at the police station…. and Luke was “released” and she asked him to not get arrested again… any time soon… and he stroked/carressed her chin… LOL.. i think… it was touching the way she smiled… and revealed a woman… as the new commissioner.

2. when Luke and Tracy were eating “lobster” in their bibs and locked lips… and Luke telling Lulu… that was unexpected… i actually thought Tracy looked like a real woman. as tracy told Luke… “i want you back”.

so… it’s a teaser to see what happens. wouldn’t it be a fun reveal… to see heather’s obsession over Luke… experience or let us glimpse a natural “normal” feeling of intimacy. so, as to bring to the audience she’s not a complete nut case.

You know I liked Skye with luke to, she should come back her last visit was to short.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
