It’s time for all of us to say our goodbyes to the character of Dina Mergeron in upcoming episodes of The Young and the Restless.

The top-rated CBS Daytime drama has released a promo illustrating the legacy of the character originally created by the late, great Bill Bell.

As fans of Y&R know, Dina was married to John Abbott (Jerry Douglas), cheated on him, left the family, and more. Chief among them hiding the truth of Ashley’s paternity for many years.  When Marla Adams returned to the show in 2017 ub recurring capacity through the telling of the Alzheimer’s storyline, some of the past pain Dina caused the Abbott children had been re-addressed.

Now, its time for Marla Adams on-screen run to come to its conclusion and the character of Dina.  Adams had first appeared on the show in 1983, and came and went through the years.

Watch the promo below as the show says their farewells to Dina … and how Marla ‘thanks’ all of you!

Will you be watching this week’s Y&R as the Abbott family comes to terms with Dina’s death? Comment below.

I have stopped watching Y&R but I will watch this episode to see how they handle Marla Adams AKA Dina Mergeron exit who’s character I followed and also created by the wonderful Bill Bell…I LOVED the applause by Y&R cast and crew…

I’m going to miss her, and her relationship with all the Abbotts, so very much. What a talent, an what a treat it has been to have had her back as long as we did.

All I have to say is that she better get the Emmy this time because I wasn’t happy when she didn’t get it last time. She played the character so well as we watched her state of mind declining. I can’t wait to see her scenes this week!!!

I hate the character is being killed off, but that’s how Y&R works they kill off it’s great actors/actresses, or the get rid of them like Gina T. – These writers of Y&R have been awesome in the handling of this storyline that I believe could on a bit longer. Marla Adams is have been awesome all these years, to kill her off is awful. Why kill those that are growing old in real life when she is doing great on the show. So sad so wrong. Forget the rating, this is great actresses that gives 100%. Y&R is not the only one to kills off someone growing old in real life, but it’s so wrong on some many levels. Going to miss not only the character, but the wondering acting of Marla Adams.
1983 she was force to be reckon with and still is, and that’ going to be a huge hole on Y&R. There lost !

Marla Adams/Dina gave a stunning performance BRAVA!
but-
the story was weak, in comparison to
GH’s Alzheimer’s story- that actually took us
on the journey through Alzheimer’s was indeed better written.
Dina/Marla will be missed 🙁
I enjoyed every one of her scenes.

I’m really sad to see Dina and Marla go. She’s a great actress.

I realize there were limitations to finalize the story due to COVID, but the entire necklace home movie addition to the storyline is yet another example of the poor quality of writing on the show. Everyone, multi-millionaires, live n a hotel room, at least they could have come up with condo or townhomes if they must use the “same sets”. Phyllis big success in her life is running a hotel? Chance might become a cop? Paul sent him a text!

I was glad to see Dina finally return to Y&R after being AWOL for so long. However, I was not happy with the Alzheimer’s storyline. The character had way too much history and plot-potential to be given a “one way” plot to her death.

John, Brad Carlton, Colleen, Delia, and now Dina. No matter the regime, the writers can’t seem to resist the urge to “kill off” Abbott family members for the mere sake of a plot. The killing off of these characters (especially Colleen) has really damaged the presence of the Abbotts on the show.

I often wonder why the heck the writers don’t serve up the death of a Newman if they want to pursue some dramatic storyline. The death of Nicholas surely would send shockwaves across the entire family. Why does it always seem like an Abbott always has to be the one tossed into a grave??

Totally unnecessary end to a historical character that could have been used in much more productive ways than this.

I noticed it is always an Abbott that dies – and usually benefits a Newman – Colleens’s heart was donated to Victor, Delia’s corneas went to Connor,!

Oh yes, Marla Adams will be missed as Dina. Enjoyed her talent and beauty back in the day as Belle on Secret Storm. She was a force to be reckoned with. Hopefully the Emerald necklace will bring some last moments of happiness to Dina.

Y n r’s lucky to have her as long as she would grace them
Think Katherine Chancellor, grandma Horton etc. Who kills off the last shows true matriach?. Oh, yea, Josh Griffith…
