In another show of support for the online rebirth of One Life to Live and All My Children, The Online Network and Hulu.com have created two fantastic billboards!

The billboards can be seen if you are in Los Angeles (and we drove by the All My Children one!),  and they are incredibly heartwarming and clever! When was the last time you saw a billboard advertising your favorite soap opera?

Yesterday, All My Children’s Lindsay Hartley tweeted upon seeing the AMC billboard “Wait… what????Retweet!!! @TOLN @allmychildren #amc ”  AMC’s Denyse Tontz (Miranda) also posted an image of the surprising Billboard to her Instagram,  “Spotted this little gem on the corner of Laurel and Sunset AMC 2.0”

For One Life to Live’s billboard slogan is: ‘Who Says You Only Have One Life to Live?”  And for All My Children the slogan is  “You Took My Children, I Want Them Back!”

One Life to Live and All My Children have their online premieres on April 29th on Hulu, HuluPlus and iTunes!

So soapers, what do you think of the marketing concept for the billboards? Do you like the tag lines/slogans?  Let us know!

So great to see The Online Network and HULU trying to promote these soaps! I think these soaps could be huge…

Yes, I agree!

I plan to watch each episode several times to generate ad revenue for TOLN and HULU.

I enjoy both shows and think Hulu and toln Are doing a great job. I do not know what Toln has to do with Hulu. Can you explain that one to me. I think wattching the shows on my computer is great and the way to go. If I miss a show I can come home and watch it. TV is for the old days and recording a show is also.

Very excited I’m praying for a TSJ return and maybe to be able to keep RH and possible get back BW and ME if we don’t get them I am still very happy and will be tuning I. To see OLTL for the rest of my one life to live!!!

Such an awesome show of support!! I almost wish GH would get cancelled so PP could get them too!! More support from them before start up than in 50 years on ABC.

You have to believe the entire TV industry is going to be watching to see how this turns out, if this a success.. we are going to instantly see internet TV production companies popping up everywhere trying to produce content of their own. The future is in internet TV, and the sooner a internet TV venture is successful the quicker we’ll see the death of network TV.. let this one be it. How fitting that the revival of soaps on the internet spell the death of the very entity that said soaps were extinct.

Good Point AJ!

God, I hope they air on cable too. My mother and grandmother can’t watch through the internet. 🙁

Have them over to your house to watch….at least until they are able to work out a deal with a cable channel.

Many local libraries now have free Internet and computer stations for residents…….HULU is free

AWESOME!!!

Very cute & clever! Good move !!

It should have said “You took my children, I want them ALL back!” LOL

I love these slogans, and the idea of bringing back the soaps. I just wish it was for As The World Turns and Guiding Light. 🙁

Agreed. I know it’s wishing thinking, but how about Another World and Ryan’s Hope too. Bringing back Dallas was a huge success. Let’s take a drive down to Bay City and open up Ryan’s Bar again. Until then, counting the days for the return of my favorite soap of all time — ONE LIFE TO LIVE!

FANTASTIC! I love them! Kudos to PP for everything they have done and continue to do.

Blows ABC right out the water !

YEH!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if anyone outside the soap world audience would know what they mean…the amc one kinda sounds like a custody battle and OLTL kinda sounds somthing religous like there is an afterlife, im just saying! lol

Then again AMC sounds like PP battle with ABC over the OLTL characters while OLTLs sounds like PPs way of saying they brought back these two iconic shows back from the dead!

FABULOUS! If this is any indication of the writing and storylines, then we are in for a treat! Can’t wait. Easily ordered Hulu Plus yesterday. Can watch on my phone, iPad, computer, and TELEVISION!

Having worked in advertising for 20 years, I don’t love this effort. No web address, no photos, no logo… nothing. Unless you’re already in the know that AMC and OLTL are coming back, you wouldn’t know what these billboards are about. How many people are going to notice them and then go figure it out? There’s a lot riding on this effort to reanimate the shows, I would have done a more direct billboard even if it is more conventional.

That is the way to get people to the site to see what in hell is this sign about/curiousness ..
At bottom of sign it says …. TOLN and HuLu ..

It is just a click on your phone or tablet, to feed ones curiosity to check it out, what the sign is about, and once they are there, to watch, well…………………………………….!

What a waste of time. Let this idiocy end and get Todd, Starr, and McBain back on actual TV ASAP.

You sound like a disgruntled GH fan. Well we AMC and oltl fans deserve our shows too. You are not the only one who counts. And we are excited!

I think these web versions will have difficulty due to demographics of former viewers. Younger hulu users aren’t interested in soaps, my daughter laughed when I watched. TV soap viewership eroded greatly when anyone with a basic tv could watch. TV soap viewers were older and less affluent based on demographic info and I doubt they will watch in sufficient numbers in the restrictive online portal.

Yea right that’s why gossip girl, one tree hill, 90210, etc stood on so long because younger.viewers don’t like soaps. And guarantee you many of those viewers watch online.

Love it!

VERY CLEVER! THANK YOU HULU, TOLN FOR BRINGING THESE BACK!

I think the AMC one should say, “They took all my children. I want them back!”

I love them, but maybe AMC should have read “YOU HAVE MY CHILDREN, I WANT ALL MY CHILDREN BACK.

Have any other OLTL & AMC fans noticed, like I have, how ABC is going out of their way to push & promote GH here lately? I haven’t ever seen so much attention being given to a Daytime soap opera in my entire soap watching life….LOL I know they’re celebrating the 50th Anniversary, but it seems a little excessive. Why couldn’t that have happened for AMC or OLTL when they were on the air?

Young people will discern the two shows are former daytime soaps watched by their great grandmothers. They will not confuse all my children with gossip girls. Demographics were the downfall of daytime soaps, young people were not interested and did not watch. I say the shows, particularly all my children, have many challenges due to limited portals to watch the show. Many daytime viewers do not have high speed Internet, streaming devices or computers. I have all the technology but have mixed feelings and I watched all my children for roughly 35 years. The last ten years mostly bored me, plots and characters ran out of gas. Will I be interested in sorased teens? Doubt it. Still undecided if I want to start again.

will the soaps be repeated during the later afternoon hours or will i have to wait til they come to tv? from what i’m hearing they will be on at noon & im still at work then. help!

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos to Kick Off Season 36 of ‘Live’ with New Show Opening

The new season of morning talk shows begins this week, and one of them, Live with Kelly and Mark, is starting things off with a new show open starring the hosts and married couple, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, formerly of All My Children fame.

Make sure to circle Tuesday September 5th, when Kelly and Mark begin their first official season together as co-hosts of the long-running show now in its 36th season.  As many know, Consuelos joined the show back in April of this year, after Ryan Seacrest made the decision to depart the series and move back to Los Angeles full-time, since the talker is shot in New York City.

In the concept of the new opening, the husband and wife duo are seen brushing their teeth in their apartment, then going through a couple of outfit changes/looks, before they settle on what they wearing as they are driven to their New York City studio where ‘Live’ emanates from, and arrive in its corridors.

In addition, this season will have a new trivia game segment called Stump Mark.  In it, Mark will try his darnedest to keep the coveted Live mug away from trivia callers trying to stump him with their two statements — one true, one false.

Scheduled guests for the week: Derek Hough, Jake Gyllenhaal, Melissa Etheridge, Josh Gad, Shinedown, Phillip Phillips, Nikki and Brie Bella and more.

Take a look at the opening title sequence for Live with Kelly and Mark below, and then let us know what you thought of it in the comment section, and let us know if you are looking forward to the new season of the talk show.

Kelly Ripa Teases New Season of ‘Live’ with Husband Mark Consuelos: “Our Show Is Best When It’s Going Off the Rails”

Since Mark Consuelos joined his real-life wife, Kelly Ripa on the morning talk show Live with Kelly and Mark, the ratings have never been better.  In fact, according to the Nielsen ratings, the former All My Children stars came in second behind The View for the 2022-2023 television season in total viewers averaging 2.293 million.

Now with the new season upon us come September, Ripa spoke with the Purist about what fans can expect now that Mark is coming into his own as her co-host.

Kelly shared, “We’re going to provide the same sort of humor and irreverence that people have come to know and love. Mark has taken the trivia game, where Ryan (Seacrest) and I would just give away coffee mugs to the audience, and decided that he’s not going to do that any more. There are no participation trophies in life, he says. If they want to win a mug, they’re going to have to stump me. I don’t really follow the ratings, but from what I’ve been told that since Mark has taken over, people stay with the show all the way through because they want to see whether or not Mark gets stumped.”

Photo: JPI

When asked what favorite segment on Live is her current favorite, Ripa expressed, “I love talking to the trivia callers. Our show is best when it’s going off the rails, when our audience gets to see the slip-ups. It is not this highly polished, Hollywood thing. It is two people meeting, having coffee, having just read the paper. We never cover actual news, we cover absurd news. When you factor in a person calling from their cellphone in the parking lot of a grocery store, what have you, it is rife with the ability to derail very quickly, and I think that’s what I love the best. I also love our viewer feedback at the very end of the show, where we take our viewers.”

So, are you looking forward to more Live with Kelly and Mark? Enjoying the duo on-screen together on the morning talker? What are your favorite staple segments from the show? Comment below.
