Tom Selleck Continues to Think ‘CBS Will Come to Their Senses’ Following Cancellation of ‘Blue Bloods’

The Young and the Restless alum, Tom Selleck (ex-Jed Andrews), who has starred on CBS’ police procedural Blue Bloods for 14 seasons, is speaking out on the decision by the network to cancel the show.

During an interview with CBS Sunday Morning Selleck expressed his thoughts on if the show might get a last minute reprieve as Shemar Moore’s (ex-Malcolm, Y&R) S.W.A.T. has.

Tom shared,”I will continue to think that CBS will come to their senses. We’re the third-highest scripted show in all of broadcast. We’re winning the night. All the cast wants to come back. And I can tell you this: we aren’t sliding off down a cliff. We’re doing good shows, and still holding our place. So, I don’t know. You tell me!”

Selleck has been with Blue Bloods since its inception and its premiere in 2010, in the role of Commissioner Frank Reagan.

Aware that the cast has asked CBS to reconsider its position, CBS Entertainment President, Amy Reisenbach said, “We love this cast, we love their passion for the show. All shows have to come to an end. It’s important to us to refresh the schedule. We are going to end the show come December.”

Blue Blood also stars Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, and Len Cariou. Selleck is pictured above with former Y&R stars, Deidre Hall (now Marlena, Days of our Lives) and Jaime Lyn Bauer (ex-Lorie).

I still love this show and hope select is right I hope cbs does turn around and keeps it the show still has life in it and stories to tell

I couldn’t agree more. Still one of the best shows on tv. If ratings don’t count, how are these decisions made.

I thoroughly agree with Tom, his show is one of my favorites. I love all the characters, just wish they would find a girlfriend for Danny and his uptight sister would get back with Jack.

100% CBS should renew Blue Bloods & CSI Vegas.

It is jarring to see a picture of Selleck without his trademark mustache (pictured with Deidre Hall and Jaime Lyn Bauer). They all look great here! As for Blue Bloods, let it continue. BTW, I, personally, am hooked on Fire Country!

Totally makes no sense. One of my favorite shows. I will truly miss it.

Wonderful cast and storylins. For it to be in 3rd place for a scripted series according to ratings, it’s senseless to cancel all production for Blieblood’s. Hopefully their minds will be changed, reconsider and keep the show running.

The show shouldn’t have been canceled, but he also wants to keep his 63-acre ranch in California.

CBS wouldn’t cancel it if it was making money. Even with good ratings, it is an expensive show with expensive stars. And advertisers aren’t willing to pay a lot for spots in shows with an older demographic, like this one has. It’s a shame but that’s the business. I’m sure CBS has a plan to put something much cheaper in its place — like how the daytime soaps got replaced with cheaper talk and game shows.

I love blue bloods, it is a great show and so sad to stop producing it. We need family shows like this to keep the sanity!, and for Tom Sellek, I would follow him anywhere! Was my crush since the 80s and still the most handsome man I know….well other than my husband!, we need to keep Blue Bloods on for years to come!

Patrick Muldoon and Jennifer Taylor Cast as Mike Manning’s Conservative Parents on ‘The Bay’

The ever-expanding cast of the streaming soap opera, The Bay, has announced two new additions for its upcoming 9th season, including Days of our Lives favorite Patrick Muldoon (ex-Austin Reed). TV fans also know Patrick Muldoon from his role as Richard Hart on Melrose Place.

In story, The Bay will bring Caleb McKinnon’s parents into the mix. Caleb is played by Daytime Emmy-winner and Outstanding Supporting Actor nominee this year, Mike Manning.

According to Deadline, Muldoon, along with Jennifer Taylor (Two and a Half Men), will play Caleb’s ultra-conservative parents. When Caleb married Daniel Garrett (Eric Nelsen), they all but abandoned him.  The season looks to bring a major story for Manning and hopefully and eventually love and acceptance from Caleb’s parents.

The casting news doesn’t stop there. Rhonda Ross has been tapped to play Colleen Givens, the biological mother of Pete Garrett’s (Kristos Andrews) wife Vivian (Karrueche Tran) in the new season.

Coleen is brought into the mix when Pete searches for Colleen after Vivian becomes ill. In the backstory, Colleen is a jazz singer who gave Vivian up for adoption at birth. Now she may be Vivian’s only hope to stay alive.

Giovanni Mazza On Contract at General Hospital: What Are Your First Impressions?

This week, General Hospital introduced newcomer Giovanni Mazza in the role of Giovanni Palmieri, who apparently is Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) second cousin, one removed or so the story goes.

The character of Gio showed up at Brook Lynn’s wedding to Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and played the violin at the ceremony. As has been previously reported, Mazza in real-life is a professional violinist and actor.

Upon making his first appearance on the ABC daytime drama series back on May 15th, fans wondered if Gio will be sticking around and that was confirmed by the closing credits of the May 17th episode where Mazza’s name is included along with other contract players.

When the news of Mazza’s casting was announced, the talent young man took to his Instagram and shared the good news, expressing, “I am so honored, grateful, and ecstatic to announce the big news! The biggest thank you to General Hospital for bringing me.” He closed his sentiments with “So much love and joy to my new fam! YAY!!! ”

During the May 17th episode, Gio had an exchange with Dex, where he mentioned that his father was in the military back in early 2000’s.  Previously, Gio revealed to Chase that his father died in the military when he was young. So this begs the question, who is Gio’s dad?
