Trevor St. John bids farewell to Llanview on his final tape day!

Oh, that sound you hear is a thud for many long time One Life to Live fans, who over the past eight years have been witness to some of the most incredible performances in daytime by Trevor St. John. Today in New York City, Trevor ended his run as Todd Manning, or whoever he could turn out to be, on his final tape day.
As Trevor previously announced to his fans on his website blog, the week of July 18th would be his last at OLTL. We hear that Trevor will air well into the next few months, so we do not have a final confirmed airdate.
We clearly recall some of the most riveting moments came during his run on the series when Trevor’s Todd was sent to death by lethal injection and had to say goodbye to his family! TSJ should have won an Emmy for that one, folks!
According to Soap Opera Digest, Trevor treated the entire cast and crew today to a yummy craft services table including breakfast, lunch and snacks. One insider told SOD, “It was very nice of him.”
On-Air On-Soaps wishes Trevor best of luck in his future endeavors and we can’t wait to see you in your next role. For now we will watch the unraveling story of the Two Todd’s!

Christel Khalil Reveals She Almost Quit Acting After ‘That’s So Raven’ Audition, But Then Came ‘The Young and the Restless’

The Young and the Restless fan favorite, Christel Khalil (Lily Winters) is the special guest on this week’s edition of Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart which dropped today on Tuesday, June 23rd.
During the interview with Rebecca and Greg, Khalil who had played Lily Winters on-screen since August of 2002, nearly 24 years with the CBS soap, shared how early on her teenage acting career, she was ready to call it quits in show business, after a heartbreaking audition for the lead of a new Disney Channel sitcom, which later turned out to be the hit seres, That’s So Raven, starring Raven-Symoné which ran for four seasons from 2003-2007.
Christel recalled what happened. “I was 14 and I had always auditioned for all these Disney projects. So I auditioned for That’s So Raven, it was between me and Raven-Symoné and it was called at the time Absolutely Psychic,” explained Khalil. “The character was this girl who had psychic ability, but then when Raven got the role, they named the title of the show after her.”

HOW A BROTHERLY TALK CHANGED THE COURSE OF CHRISTEL’S CAREER
Reliving the disappointment to Greg and Rebecca, Christel explained, “I lost that part and I was just so devastated, because for the network call there were 20 people in the room watching me, and I just have always had such performance anxiety. I just completely bombed the audition and it was terrible. So, I was just devastated. I was actually going to quit acting and then I got the final call for The Young and The Restless and I wasn’t going to go.”
It was Khalil’s brother, who actually got her to reconsider, and if he hadn’t, we would not have our Lily Winters in Genoa City! Christel recounted, “I was like, ‘You know what? I’m done. I don’t want to do this anymore. I’m just going to hang out with my friends.’ I was just devastated. My brother, who is seven years older than me, and he had quit acting at the same age that I was at that time. He said to me, ‘I promise you, I actually really regret quitting. Just go on this audition and if you don’t get it, you can quit.'”
Christel’s screen-test for the role of Lily was actually with the late, great, Kristoff St. John who would play her father Neil (Later it was revealed to Lily, that Neil’s brother, Malcolm Winters was her bio-dad).

ACTING WAS EASY WITH THE LATE KRISTOFF ST. JOHN
“So, I went (to test for Lily) and I remember the screen-test was with Kristoff St. John. It was just so easy to act with him because he’s just so there. I remember just being on set, and that was my first time there for a screen-test where you were actually on set. I had never experienced that before. It was my first time being with an actor and having makeup done, which just helps you really be able to do your best work.”
Recalling the screen-test with the St. John, Khalil, “It was where I had to be emotional ( in the scene) and I always had issues being emotional at auditions. But I was there with him, it just came, and it happened. It was natural and I felt so good and it was amazing. It stands out in my mind a lot.”
You can check out the full Soapy conversation with Christel Khalil where she also discusses juggling motherhood, marital life, and the demands of soap operas.

Now let us know, over the years what had been your favorite Lily Winters story on Y&R as played by Christel Khalil? Days Of Our Lives
Deidre Hall Marks 50 Years as ‘Days of Our Lives’ Dr. Marlena Evans

If you have ever tuned-in to the soap opera genre over the last 50 years, and witnessed some of the greatest romances, drama, classic and outlandish storylines of all-time, you would have seen Deidre Hall smack dab in the middle of it as longtime Salem heroine, Dr. Marlena Evans.
It was 50 years on this date, June 21, 1976 that Hall first appeared on DAYS on NBC which was its home for 57 years before it moved to its current streaming platform on Peacock in September of 2022.
In Hall’s first episode she was introduced as a psychiatrist treating Mickey Horton (John Clarke) at Bayview Sanitarium after he suffered a complete mental breakdown. Mickey learned that his brother Bill Horton (Edward Mallory) was the biological son of Mike Horton (Wesley Eure) with his wife Laura (Susan Flannery) and that he had been lied to for years and years. From that moment on, the rest is television and soap opera history. Days of Our Lives put Hall front and center.

Photo: NBC
There were so many heartbreaking and shocking story twists involving the beloved Marlena. One of the first was the historic crib death of baby DJ (Don Jr.) in 1980, Marlena’s infant son with Don Craig (Jed Allan). The story had never been told on daytime television and Hall’s performances received accolades from TV critics to fans when Deidre received thousands of letters from grieving mothers who had gone through the same thing in their own lives.
DAYS also brought Deidre’s twin sister, Andrea Hall Lovell to the show as her on-screen sister Samantha, who had a grudge and even locked Marlena up in a sanitarium and took her place! Fast-forward and in 1982, DAYS launched the Salem Strangler story where everyone believed Marlena was his next victim, only it turned out to be Samatha. Jake Kositchek (played by Jack Coleman) was revealed to be the actual serial killer.
Later, Deidre would assume the role of Marlena’s look-alike, Hattie Adams in 2004, once played by her sister, Andrea. Over the years, Hattie has come back to Salem and caused trouble giving Hall a chance to play a different type of character, then the always upstanding Marlena.

THE LOVES OF MARLENA
Deidre Hall struck gold with all her leading men: from the late Jed Allan, to Wayne Northrop as Roman Brady, and of course, her enduring love story with the late John Black played by the iconic Drake Hogestyn. In fact, Marlena’s 1986 wedding to John (who was believed to be Roman at the time) remains a favorite of fans to this day.
TOP MARLENA STORYLINES OF ALL-TIME
While the list is long, here are several that were some of the memorable during Deidre’s five decades in Salem!
The Possession (1994- 1995)
Considered one of the most ambiguous, outlandish and unforgettable story arcs in soap opera history, then Days of Our Lives head writer, James Reilly went there! Marlena was possessed by the devil! That included; the demonic eyes, hissing at father John (Black) the priest, morphing into creatures, and the classic levitating in her bed! It became a cultural phenomenon and cemented Deidre Hall’s status as a daytime television legend. Just ask Ryan Gosling!

Photo:JPI
The Affair with John Black (1993)
John and Marlena’s forbidden love could not be denied and they had passionate affair, while she was still married to the real Roman. Problem was her daughter, Sami (Alison Sweeney) caught her mother having sex with John on a desk that changed Sami forever.
The Salem Stalker Mystery (2003-2004)
In a shocker, Marlena was revealed to be a serial killer who bumped off several Salem favorites residents who were all alive on the island of Melaswen (spelled “New Salem” backward). Turns out, she was manipulated and gaslighted by Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) to do the “killings” and had no memory of her actions.
The Pier Scene (1991)
This remains Michael Fairman TV’s all-time favorite Deidre Hall moment, which featured some of the best acting in the storied careers of both Hall and Drake Hogestyn.
In the story, a presumed-dead Marlena returns after four years. One foggy night on the pier, John is alone, and Marlena steps out of the fog to reveal herself, and is reunited with the love of her life. You can watch it any year, any decade, and in any moment, and it will have you reaching for the hankies again and again. (best music score fo a soap scene of all-time too!)

Photo: NBC
Kristen’s Secret Room Reveal (1997)
Marlena was caught in Kristen Blake’s (Eileen Davidson) elaborate web of lies, when she was held hostage in a secret wine cellar/room until John managed to track her down, leading to an iconic on-screen reunion. The classic catfight between Hall and Eileen Davidson was one for the ages.
It should be noted that Maison Blanche, Queen of the Night, Possession, Aremid and Lady in a Cage were all a part of classic DAYS storyline and all featured Hall at the epicenter of it from 1993-1996.
THE RECENT YEARS OF MARLENA
In recent years, DAYS brought back the possession 2.0 storyline under then head writer Ron Carlivati in 2021 where the devil leapt back in Marlena after taking advantage of a frail Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes)
In 2025, viewers watched the end of the love story of John and Marlena, as John succumbed to injuries sustained in an explosion saving a vial of medication needed to bring Bo (Peter Reckell) back to life. Marlena has been a widow on-screen since June of 2025 as Hall as portrayed the good doctor struggling with her grief and to move on with her life since his death.

Photo: JPI
One story that never goes away is Stefano DiMera’s (the late Joe Mascolo) obsession with Marlena, his “Queen of the Night.” Even in death, Stefano is toying with her from the great beyond with the mysterious chess set and the missing “pawn,” that he had gifted John and Marlena in his will. The mystery is currently unfolding on all-new episodes of Days of Our Lives.
Tune-in to Days of our Lives on the Monday, June 22 episode as Marlena looks back at her 50 years in Salem.
Share your congratulations to Deidre Hall for this incredible 50-year milestone as Dr. Marlena Evans on Days of Our Lives in the comment section. Then let us know, what is your all-time favorite storyline or moment in the life of Marlena over the past 5 decades? And, just for kicks, and to celebrate this amazing milestone, here is Marlena levitating below circa Christmas Eve 1994.

Yes ,Michael ,Trevor should have one an Emmy for that FOR SURE AS WELL AS OTHERS ,THE PRODUCERS HAVE DROPPED THE BALL LETTING HIM GO. I’m still hoping he will be TODD, i feel like i’ve been stabbed in the heart . TREVOR IS A CLASS ACT TREATING THEM ALL ,GIVING KRISTEN FLOWERS ,I HOPE THEY DID SOMETHING FOR HIM TOO.HOPE TO SEE HIM IN SOMETHING SOON,
My heart bleeds. What might have been: a romance with Evangeline; a Todd/Vange/ John triangle; the resulting obligatory “who’s the father” paternity s/l; the spectre of a jealous Blair; the marriage of and the eventual divorce of Todd and Evangeline. Todd kills Rex (in self defense), Evangeline prosecutes him; then in an about face quits the DA’s office to defend him! Years of Drama, Drama, Drama.
He IS a nice guy. Despite him getting kicked in teeth by TPTB.
This is kind of bittersweet news…Yes he is awesome as Todd but Roger was awesome as Todd. Fans have won all along with both actors. I used to be a big fan of OLTL but being a long suffering Jolie fan, I’ve only been watching off and on since mid 2007. Now I’m tuning in daily and excited to see what they do with this two Todd story.
I’m really goingto miss Trevor St. John. He is a wonderufl actor. I loved Roger Howarth and once thought no one could replace him, but St. John did a marvellous job. Who knows how things will turn out with OLTL being on the internet in the future anyway. Good luck to TSJ in his future endeavors.
OLTL is continuing…..so MUST Trevor! Producers, PLEASE bring him back. As stated above, there is no one like him. He is the best, and he is our Todd! The show just wont be the same. He brings us to the ultimate heights of every emotion there is. Too many of the better actors are leaving. This just isn’t right! What can we do to keep Trevor??!!
I realize that RH was the original Todd, but when TSJ stepped in he brought a fresh and relatable perspective to Todd that had been lacking before for this viewer. It wasn’t until TSJ took over that I began to enjoy Todd. There were still shades of dark, but intermixed was a new wit and snark that only TSJ could have infused. He is the only Todd for me and regardless of what is revealed for his character, he will go out as the one and ONLY Todd Manning for me. I hope that with the few remaining soaps left standing that one of them will be smart enough to snap up this incredible actor. TSJ has shown that he is more than just beautiful eye candy. I will follow him where ever he lands. God Bless!
I have enjoyed TSJ when he first arrived but the last year and half he has been just walking through his scenes and lost the “suffering” in Todd’s soul, which Roger’s Todd always showed Todd’s tortured soul. I’m not unhappy about him is leaving, I have always preferred Roger over Trevor. Yesterday did anyone see the scene TSJ was doing with Sam? When he was yelling at Sam, I mean did you see the child actor playing Sam …flinch. The kid looked scared, I didn’t like that at all the producer need to tone that scene down. Good bye TSJ and hello Roger.
Oh please. It is called acting! RH has always been scarier. Can we say intense rape scene? TSJ deserved better and you are grasping to find fault. Worst injustice in daytime, the way this played out. Period!
yes trevor should have won an emmy for that lethal injection scene!! he is an awesome actor & i am sure we will see him in prime time as well as the big screen – best of luck to him & all his future endeavors!!!
he will definitely be missed!
So, is OLTL jumping the shark with two Todds? The actor was so good yet dumped after 8 years. Imposter Todd after 8 years? Days gets reamed for this kind of thing but not OLTL. Double standard.
Trevor St. John entertained me for eight years as the tortured Todd Manning. I wish the actor the very best and if I were one of the four remaining network soaps, I’d be looking to see if he would fit in with my canvas. St. John had amazing chemistry with Florencia Lozano (Tea) and his work at OLTL will never be forgotten. Thanks for the years of entertainment, Mr. St. John!
I’m a relative latecomer to OLTL, finding it as a welcome refuge from the dreck that AMC had become 4 or so years ago, and TSJ was one of the main reasons I stuck around. (The other reasons were Erika Slezak, Robin Strasser and Florenzia Lozano). TSJ’s Todd was infuriating, horrifying, loving, and in the end, mesmerizing. I will really miss this actor.
Trevor an excellent actor and I believe he has a great future ahead of him. Roger Howarth is the one and only Todd. He brings many levels to that character. You can love him; hate him and have compassion for him. I am glad he is back and I can’t wait to find out how this story plays out.
*It was a classy thing that Trevor did on his last day.
But not a classy thing that they did to him! RH needs all the power, he toyed about coming back off and on for yrs. TSJ did not deserve to be a man in waiting until RH and TPTB decided to give the role back when RH wanted back in. Eight yrs of dedication FOR WHAT? I don’t know these actors on the show keep silent. I don’t know how anyone thinks it’s ok! Like RH or not, the whole thing is souless & insensitive!
Letting Trevor go before OLTL leaves broadcast TV was a big mistake…unless he was difficult to work with or a pain in the *** on set. (I have not heard that he was either of those things…)
EXCELLENT ACTOR, HOLLYWOOD GET READY!
Trevor St John is the only reason that I stayed watch OLTL in the last 8 years. He did an outstanding job and no one will every out do him when it comes to playing Todd. He will be truly missed by his fans. He had so much chemistry with everyone he inter acted with. I loved him with Blair but when Tea came back he truly came to live for me. I will miss you and so look forward to your next endeavors.
TREVOR UNLIKE TPTB IS A CLASS ACT!
Le sigh…. I love some TSJ. He’s steadily climbed to the top of my list of favorite daytime actors, replacing both Ric Hearst & Laura Wright. He should’ve won that Emmy for those scenes, as well been nom’d for others. That’s a darn shame. *SMH* I don’t think TPTB really ever fully realized the gift & the treasure they had in TSJ, if not things would’ve been different & he’d still be there. My heart is heavy, but I feel certain that we’ll see him again in bigger & brighter things…. like Primetime for sure. If ever there was a “get” in daytime TSJ is it for sure.
Trevor would make a cool addition to Hawaii 5-0 or maybe NCIS Los Angeles.
Trevor has an innate style all his own. He is truly an original. He can be quiet and then explode. I have enjoyed his Todd, not even thinking they were going to bring back Roger. Are the TPTB just cleaning up before they get ready to leave? I hope they haven’t dug a hole for themselves and the fans that they can’t get out of, leaving the crumbs they scattered all over the place. I have been racking my brain as to what can be thrown to us next. Too many stories, with insignificant actors. And, how long are they going to keep John away from his son? They are dragging that one out. I’m sure Brody will get his comeuppance. Stop this now! Back to Trevor….how are they going to write him off? Will he leave being a good guy or will they kill him off so they don’t have to explain anything? This is so disgusting!…. Good luck, Trevor. You deserve to be on a prime time series…..
I’ve seen both actors in the role from the beginning and for me TSJ will ALWAYS be Todd Manning! Trevor’s final air day will be my final day watching OLTL and I’ve been with the show for over 30 years. I know talent when I see it and TPTB are making a HUGE MISTAKE letting Trevor St. John go. I’ll follow him wherever he goes and OLTL will become dead to me. Without TSJ, there just is no show!
Love the suggestions above but I’m envisioning TSJ on Criminal Minds (he’d be awesome opposite MGG) or NCIS. I can see TSJ sharing scenes with Mr. McCallum on that show and the accent thing would be cool too! CM has a stellar cast and TSJ would really fit in in a number of ways but I’d prefer to see him as a regular!
TSJ’s Todd was a handsome, complex, fascinating character, which I preferred over the RH version. TSJ’s contribution to OLTL has been incredible. I have loved every moment of every performance. I can’t imagine looking forward to watching OLTL without him. OLTL is self-destructing with the loss of so many significant actors.
Trevor I can’t thank you enough for eight years of stunning performances. Of course, you deserved an Emmy. I hope this temporary setback will turn out to be an advantage, that you will find other work and achieve greater recognition of your talents. You are so loved and will be so missed.
It’s sad that Trevor left. When OLTL runs out of ideas, they resort to stunt casting, which is exactly what the RH thing is all about. It’s the same thing that happens when they bring back Tuc Watkins. They don’t need the character, but they just run out of ideas, and he’s good for some sort of filler. Hopefully if OLTL becomes seasonal with Prospect Park, they will produce a show with new writers who know how to write tight, compelling stories instead of the dead end drivel that we’ve seen lately.
Trevor when inspired did really young jack nicholson proud. Terrific early on as Todd. However when he started dictating his ideas of storyline, dissing his story with Blair, who as a colleague stood by him and always supported the change of face as Todd, you cross the line. Changing from rehearsals to tape throwing off your colleagues who rehearsed the script to mean one thing and on camera see it fly another way because you are bored is not professional. Effectively he turned an enigmatic character into a cry baby at his execution, which Todd would never do, he turned him into an Archie Bunker type father and husband, lecherous and causal about sex which Todd would never be and looking to bed anyone and everyone, which Todd would never do. Kudos to him fro a job well done until he got bored and welcome back to Roger Howarth who so far has shown himself back in the game and delivering fantastic real Todd back to the fans of OLTL…Now if Carliavti doesn’t drop the ball, this should be the reunion of the most unusual couple ever on soaps, Todd and Blair…. the pic of their wedding that Tomas painted should be a hint enough, Todd wants his one true babe… Blair.
I don’t understand how you can say Trevor turned the character of Todd into a cry baby. He didnt write his own script the writers did. So if you want to blame any one blame them. Some of you fan have not been fair to Trevor who did not ask to play the character of Todd, that would be the producer of this show. Anyway what Trevor brought to the show was a sexy Todd which Roger could never pull off because he’s not a sexy actor or man. Trevor added so may different layers to the character of Todd that I so much enjoyed. As for changing line in his scenes actors do that all the time. They do it on General Hospital all the time , some producers like the ideas of the actor knowing how to play a certain scene, and knowing what the character would do or say.
As a fan of Roger Howarth you and others have made his some super great actor , but he can only get a role on a soap operea, and another actors job at that. Money is the name of the game for him and Trevor gets sacked for a actor who left the role many times only to come back when he couldn’t make it in nightime and less not even think about movies.
I will miss Trevor the best Todd in my opinion. But he will go on to better things while we will see Roger on the Web Sites. I stopped watching this show when Trevor annnounced he would be out. Haven’t seen this crazy show in a month, and you know I thought I would miss it but I don’t. Found so many other things to do.
So fans of Roger Howarth enjoy and fans of Trevor join me in saying goodbye to this show and find something else to do.
Trevor was indeed a class act. He is the only Todd for me and since I don’t look at the show anymore, he will always be Todd to me. I wish him so much luck in his future, and whereever he goes I will surely watch. I would love to see him on the Young and Restless or the Bold and the Beautiful. He and Brooke could really steam up the screen, and how about having scenes with Stephanie. I will never forgive how TPTB treated Trevor bring Roger back. And how Roger’s fans cheered one man losing his job, and the expense of another who left 8 or 9 years ago. Hope this will never happen to any of Rogers fans . Lose your job , after being there for years and your co-workers cheer as your boss bring a former co-worker back at your expense.
Miss you already Trevor. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. You didn’t deserve this.
Trevor St. John is not only one of the most talented, but one of the most unique and inventive actors on television. Huge loss. One Life will have much less life without him.
Oh good Lord, Trevor isn’t that in demand either for prime time and film. He is a fine actor. But let me tell you he changed slants on scripts, and it didn’t please a lot of his colleagues. tried to keep it fresh. I am all for his great talent, and wish him well…. he is bored in daytime. Hope he finds a job somewhere worthy of his talents. Meanwhile, cry baby Todd doesn’t work for me. Pay attention to history in a character. He did not.
Many people plat Hamlet, as Mr. St. John said, and his slant on Todd was curious and well, but not in keeping wiht the history of the show or character. Change for change sake is tedious. Waytch for oyur fave where you can find him, I will watch OLTL for RH and hope carlivati doesn’t drop the ball on this one too. Disgruntled fan heading to internet to follow my show…..
Do you work for ABC/One Life To Live? How do you know what kind of offers Trevor have received. One thing for sure Roger sure didn’t receive any or he would not have returned to One Life To Live to take another actor’s job.
You are so right i will watch for my fave where I can find him . but remember what goes around comes around . When something dirty is done to someone they pay for it down the line.
People who watch this version of Todd played by Roger keep talking about the character being an icon role and only he can play Todd. Give Me a Break Please.
I realize Roger has many fans I was one of them years ago, and hated when he left for good. When Trevor’s character was revealed to be Todd. What I saw was the difference he brought to Todd. He had all the ranges of an actor, sexy, snarky, wit, that sly smile, and the bad attitude, he could be sad/happy, and playing the victim, or being a victim. I see all of this in Trevor’s version of Todd. I understand Roger’s version of Todd has fans also. But some of Roger’s fans haven’t been kind when Trevor’s fans express disappointment at how the PTB have disrespected him. Some was even gleeful at him being replaced because that is what happened.
So all who are waiting for the show to down grade to the WEB good luck. And I will wait for TSJ.
I think the only way the show could bring RH back and try to pass him off as Todd is to suddenly deny that TSJ is portraying Todd. They KNEW that RH couldn’t portray Todd the way Trevor does because his version (RH) is more one-note. Trevor is much more complex and he could do anything you threw at him. RH could not pull that off in my opinion much less as well as TSJ. So, they had to claim TSJ was not Todd. But, in truth, Trevor is Todd to many of us and he always will be. I see him on screen and my mind says “Todd!” That’s because TSJ made the role his own. His portrayal of Todd is full of layers and he gives the character so much more all around.
He is amazing actor and cannot wait to see him on TV again
TSJ has been amazing. I was 31 when he came on as the new Todd and he didn’t skip a beat. Everything about the new actor in the old role made it exciting to watch. Over the last couple of years I have fast forwarded my DVR to watch only the scences with involved TSJ. Anyway, I will deeply miss the actor but look forward to the the return of the original Todd. The show must go on…
Can’t wait to see TSJ on the big screen. Maybe he can play James Bond??
trevor will truly be missed.
I will miss TSJ. He was the only Todd I knew. I started watching OLTL because of him during the time he receieved the lethat injection. He should have won an award for his acting. In my opinion the show should have kept him until the end because there was plenty more story to tell, expecially after learning he was victor. OLTL lost a multitude of good story to tell about Victor and Todd. Tea would love and have Victor and Todd would have Blair. Would it have hurt them to keep him until the show ended on abc. Perhaps they can bring him back from the dead–soaps do it all the time.
That said, I love you TSJ and wish you the best. I’m looking forward to seeing you in the future. You are an excellent actor. I love you.
