General Hospital
Tristan Riggs is General Hospital’s New Aiden
Looks like there is another new actor in the younger set on General Hospital. Tristan Riggs is taking over the role of Elizabeth Webber’s (Rebecca Herbst) son, Aiden.
Previously, Enzo De Angelis played the part of Liz and Lucky’s (formerly Jonathan Jackson) son since 2021. Soap Opera Digest confirmed that Riggs is now firmly in the part.
The switch happened on today’s Thursday May 2nd episode in scenes. Recently, Aiden came out as gay to him mom after admitting his interest in one of his classmates.

As Riggs begins in the part, it looks like Aiden is being bullied at school. Elizabeth is trying to get to the bottom of things and made an appointment with school counselors to find out what’s going on, after seeing his book bag had pink paint on it.
Riggs has been acting since he was 7-year-0ld and has appeared on the TV series Walker, True Lies and Best Foot Forward to name a few.
So, what do you think of Tristan Riggs as the new Aiden? Do you hope Aiden’s story becomes more front and center? Comment below.
I think it’s ridiculous and annoying that they keep changing actors. I have no investment in any of these child actors because of that. Back in the day, Robin, Lucky, Emma, Spencer, were consistently on. Now we have to figure out who the kid is playing because they’re on so infrequently but are constantly being recast. What’s going on!!!!???
It’s really not difficult at all to follow, especially with younger roles when kids are growing up.
That’s a shame, I thought Enzo DeAngelis was doing great as Aiden. The scenes he did with Becky Herbst when Aiden came out to Elizabeth were so lovely and touched me personally, as I’ve mentioned in comments here before. Unfortunately, they have yet to follow up on that story. Perhaps this change means they finally are.
Since Enzo has done Young Sheldon and some other projects, I would guess maybe he got booked on another show or movie, and was gonna be unavailable to continue in the role. But that’s just speculation on my part. Best of luck to him in his future career, he’s a talented young man. And welcome to the show, Tristan!
I was just asking if the role of Aiden was recast. I’ll miss Enzo and wish him well. He was featured on “Young Sheldon” about three weeks ago. Welcome Tristian.
The writers should remember Aiden is Lucky’s son, and is related to Carly and Michael (cousins) and is Tracy’s step-grandson. When Willow told Michael she brought Aiden home to help out Liz, he replied Aiden Webber? Don’t you mean Aiden Spencer, your cousin.
Then when Tracy addressed Aiden as “Hello another families child.” I wish Aiden would have said Hello grandma. That would have been funny. Especially since Tracy talked about Luke today.
If Korte is noted as the shows historian, these are some things they should catch. How do you forget Aiden is a Spencer and Luke’s grandson.
good point about “Korte”. I think these new head writers are so far not impressing me, and Korte should know that details matter, it’s annoying when they miss it. and bumped out about Aiden actor being replaced, I thought Enzo was doing great.
They’ve also forgotten that Molly is Sonny’s niece and that’s a conflict of interest for her to prosecute him.
Well it never stopped her father. Ric Lansing always went after Sonny when he was DA.
The show made the decision along time ago to have all of Elizabeth’s kids use the Webber name – which made her decision to use Baldwin after she married Franco a bit perplexing.
Tracy had no interaction with Aiden in the past so neither would consider themselves relatives – despite the Luke connection.
As for the potential bullying storyline – let’s hope it’s something different as along with Natalia’s “concern” about publicizing Blaze’s relationship with Kristina – both are old school storylines from the 90s. The LGBT audience deserves better. That said, if this ties in Kristina’s long mentioned charity and showcases Terry and Brad – well, maybe it’s an umbrella story we didn’t know we needed.
Good point about Tracy and Aiden. But the new and old writers fail to remember the family connections on this show. Aiden is still Lucky’s son. I remember Aiden calling Carly as Ms. Spencer last year in the Halloween episode. They are cousins. I just wish the writers would acknowledge that simple fact.
The kids we see now are the next generation of legacy characters so they should get the family dynamics correct. Especially now that they are getting older and may play more of a role on the show. I would hate to see them pair two characters who are related by blood down the line.
While they won’t pair any blood-related characters , they will do some that are tangentially related (I.e. Charlotte and Jake).
The show went a bit far in adding too many children in the past 15 years. Looking back to the 70s and 80s, babies on GH were spread much further apart. Actresses hid their real life pregnancies more instead of working them into storyline. Steve Hardy had 2 kids while Sonny Corinthos had 5 bio kids, adopted another, and a few still births or miscarriages.
The teen group they have now are all so close in age (over SORAS). I think Aiden, Danny, and Rocco are now all the same age (15). Jake and Charlotte are a year or two older. I think they made a mistake when they aged (SORAS) the Danny character. He should be 12 or 13, I think. I think the only kids that are the correct age are Jake and Aiden.
But now that they are all close in age, they should feature storylines with them at PCHS. I remember when they featured the teens in storylines and scenes at high school in the Robin, Jason, Brenda, Karen and Jagger era, and again with Lucky, Elizabeth, Emily, Sarah, and Nicholas.
Too bad the writers can’t get past the mob centric storylines.
I think one of the reasons for the recast Aiden may have been due to the previous actor growing at a rapid pace (having him appear to be the same age as older brother Jake).
A switch to focus on the new growing teen set requires a trimming of the older cast (or back burnering their storylines).
Hopefully we hear from Enzo one day… perhaps it was he choice not to want to continue in the role (?)
This kid is cute, as most of them are. We don’t see them that often so who cares? Today was nice with him helping Sasha who was still auditioning for her new job as the “Q” Chef. Also, a lot was going on to get Lois for the new face of Deception, or is that still Blaze? Very confusing.
I too liked Sasha accepting his help in the kitchen. Maybe the Q’s will allow him to hone his baking skills there and he and Sasha can keep everyone fed. He can seek refuge there if he’s being bullied at school.
There are way too many kids on this show! Who can keep up? Charlotte, Rocco, Danny, Scout, Wiley, Amelia, Violet, Georgie, James, Baylee Lou, Aiden, Jake, Donna, Avery, Baby Ace! Feel like I’m forgetting someone.
+ Leo
And, when Christina has Molly & TJ’s baby… there will be another baby, and, in 5 years time, that baby will be 15 years old! LOL
I knew it! Thanks! Yes Leo. Isn’t it funny that Sam & Dante are half siblings to both Leo & Christina?
And, when Christina has Molly & TJ’s baby… there will be another baby, and, in 5 years time, that baby will be 15 years old! LOL
If “another” baby will be 15 in 5 yrs.. how will “this” baby be in 5 years ?
Doesn’t really matter because the SORASing is inconsistent at best. Remember when Jake was supposedly run over by Luke and killed at the age of 4, and donated his kidney to Joss who was still a baby.
Now she’s about 22 and he’s 16 or so. How did that happen?
Gloria…out of curiosity, I counted 16 children (including Leo). To me, it sounds like an entire classroom of future students. LOL
Most of the kids are annoying. Still can’t stand Sam…her voice and her acting are annoying as well. Couldn’t she fall off a boat on the Seine?!?!
I feel the same way about Sam She needs to leave the show. She’s had her time
Sam is intertwined with other characters on the show that (despite needing a reboot) she has to stay on the active canvas.
EXACTLY…AND SAYONARA!!!!!
Sam’s one of my favorite characters and I LOVE Sam and Dante. I think they’re the most authentic couple on the show. I wonder when people want legacy characters to leave how long they’ve been watching GH. Many of us who’ve been watching for decades don’t want the show to erase its history, legacy characters and families which it seems to be doing as it puts legacy characters on the back burner, writes off or barely has a scene with vets and introduces more and more characters unrelated to the history of the show.
Kat…at this point, Sam falling off a boat on the Seine would be WONDERFUL!!!!! I never cared for the character…or for the actress portraying her. Makes me wanna GAG!!!!! Yuck.
Oh God yes, from your lips. She’s such a pain in the ass! If she’s not on poor Danny’s back, she’s always giving Jason a hard time, like everything is his fault. She needs something to do, too much spare time.
She’s being a good mother, like Alexis was when she kept Kristina away from Sonny when she was a kid and how Olivia kept Dante from knowing Sonny was his father. Danny was minutes from getting blown up with Jason when Julian planted that bomb under Cyrus’s orders to kill Jason. Once Sam saw the danger she gave Jason a choice; leave the business or we have to split; he chose the business, Carly and Sonny. Now? He’s a target. Gave Jason a hard time? He put Carly before her and her son time and time again.
Nothing against Tristan, the poor kid just started, but WHY is Enzo no longer playing Adien? He was doing a fantastic job. He is the one to pull us along with this story because he started it. Unless it was Enzo’s decision to leave, I am not happy and think TPTB made a big mistake.
BUT, since I can do nothing about this, I will give Tristan a chance and hope he does a great job.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
