Tristan Rogers Chats On His Return To Y&R And His Depature From GH!

Fan favorite, Tristan Rogers made a lot of fans happy and a lot of fans unhappy at the same time, when it came to light that the talented actor is rejoining The Young and the Restless as Colin Atkinson in early 2014, and finishing up his stint as the beloved Robert Scorpio on General Hospital.
In a new interview out now from Soap Opera Uncensored, Rogers reveals that he has signed a 12 month contract with the number one soap opera! In addition, the actors talks on reuniting with Jess Walton (Jill) and looking forward to what may go down in the Colin and Jill romance and making Colin a fully-fleshed out character in the New Year! While SOU addresses past rumors of any issue between he and current Y&R executive producer, Jill Farren Phelps (who Rogers worked under at GH for a time), Tristan also gives kudos to EP Frank Valentini and how he has resurrected GH from almost certain cancellation almost a year and half ago! Below are a few interesting excerpts from the interview on what went down behind the scenes to bring Rogers back to Genoa City!
Tristan on how it worked out for him to return to Y&R as Colin: “There was no intrigue or anything like that. My manager got a call at the end of October inquiring about my contractual obligations at GH. My manager said, ‘Well, he doesn’t have any; they’ve run out.’ They said, ‘OK, we’ll get back to you.’ I didn’t hear from them right away, but one day they called and said, ‘Guess what? You’re back on Y&R! It was that quick. It took everyone by surprise, including GH because, at that point, I hadn’t finished the shows I had agreed to film. We were supposed get those shows done by Oct. 31 but that hadn’t happened yet. I’m still working out those shows now. They added a few more, actually. I’ll be pretty much working up until the show goes dark. ”
Tristan on if he was worried he made the wrong choice by leaving GH and heading back to Y&R: “My memories of Y&R were always very positive. I was treated very well over there. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Working with Jess Walton was great. Working with the late Paul Rauch was great. Working with Daniel Goddard was great. People in my little group there were fantastic! Though, I will sorely miss working with Jeanne Cooper because we had some good stuff together. The other big issue was that Colin has no baggage. He’s a clean sheet of paper. Whereas, of course, Scorpio is nothing but baggage. As Scorpio, you’re always in competition with yourself. Therefore, playing Colin, for me, is easier because I can continue to add to him all the time. There’s nothing in his past that can restrict me in terms of, ‘Oh, you can’t do that because he did this years ago.’ There’s nothing like that on Y&R as Colin. From the perspective of me as an actor, he’s much easier to develop as a character and evolve at this point. Now, I’m not putting my character on GH, Robert Scorpio, down by any means; far from it. I have a huge investment in Robert when it comes to GH. But as a comparison in terms of my future on Y&R, well, I hear there are some interesting things planned.”
So, after reading about Tristan’s thoughts on why he decided to head to Y&R, do you think he made the right choice? Are you looking forward to seeing him reprise the role of Colin? Comment below!
Good for him! Actors go where the work is. I do hope to see him bring Robert back to GH when his time at Y&R is done.
I will miss Robert like crazy…I love this character and have since I first started watching GH. I always look forward to when he is on the canvas (and I hope and pray that he will be able to come back as Port Charles isn’t the same without him and his relationships with Luke, Anna, Robin, et. al). Having said that, I’m thrilled that Tristan has a year-long contract with Y&R. Although there is a little part of me that’s muttering about Robert leaving, I wish him the best in the reincarnation as Colin. (Who knows??? It may be the start of my watching Y&R again!) Bless you, Tristan…and thank you for all the thrills you’ve given GH fans over the years…
I love Tristan and love Robert Scorpio. I don’t blame Tristan one bit for taking the Y&R job but I do admit I will miss him as Robert. Hopefully, he’ll come back someday soon!
At least Y&R utilizes their vets/older characters better than any other soap. GH would have made Scorpio part of the woodwork soon enough in favor of the younger crowd.
Yes!
I don’t blamed Tristan for taken the offer, I love, love Robert Scorpio but I’m hoping he’ll be back but in the meantime? I’ll be checking him out as Colin over on YR.
I understand what Tristan is saying about his playing the two characters. I love him as Robert Scorpio and will always want him back on GH as much as he can be. Tristan is so talented and he should go where the work is and ride it as long as he can. I understand that Y&R and Sony have more investment in the future than the fickle ABC network. For me… GH is number 1 and I will continue to hope… he comes back as Robert many more times before GH is sunsetted. I watch Y&R currently and will welcome seeing Tristan back on as Colin!!! Congratulations Tristan!!!
As long as Colin’s ex-wife, the ill-conceived character of Genevieve created by Maria Arena Bell, doesn’t show up, I will welcome him whole-heartedly back to the Y & R canvas!!
I liked the character of Genevieve. I absolutely loved Gennie Francis. She and Tristen Rogers had GREAT chemistry. So subtle and connected.
And I am thrilled Colin / Tristen is coming back to Y&R. I haven’t watched GH in forever, so I never saw him.
Well, that places you in the minority re the Genevieve character. I have no problems with Genie Francis; truth be told, almost every character created during the Maria Arena Bell regime were ill-conceived, half-baked, one-dimensional messes only looking for revenge. Do I have to remind you of Daisy, Ryder & Meggie?
I wish Tristan was staying at GH. It has been wonderful having him back with Anna and Robin and Luke. Guess the powers that be at GH weren’t prepared to offer him a long term contract and Y&R was. Actors have to make a living.
I will miss Robert Scorpio and hope he comes back one day.
I like him on both but more on gh but he lights up both shows
I’ll watch him wherever he goes.
I second that!
Well, I guess that puts to rest, once and for all, whether or not it was GH or TR not wanting to commit to a contract, doesn’t it???? I like to think of Robert and Colin as the same character. Just leading a double life! 😉
Nope, they are not the same character at all..Colin is more villain like and Robert more hero like..and that is fun and challenging for an actor..Majority of actors want to play different characters, different lives, different worlds.normal.
I watch only GH….so I’ll miss him!
If Carlivati and Valentini were arrogant enough to assume that Tristan was sitting around waiting for their call, more power to Tristan leaving a sinking ship for a more stable one.
I don’t believe for one minute that Carlivati had big plans for my beloved Robert for February, because Tristan would have heard from them in October if that was the case.
GH isn’t sinking anywhere. It’s doing its best ratings in years.
Sinking ship??? Wow, Kate, do you know something we all don’t? What do you consider stable? Yes YR is still number one but have you not been reading all of the negative press regarding its storylines? They just killed a child onscreen and most of the storylines are so dark, gloomy, and depressing. Heck, Fen is in jail and Michael is fearing he’d get raped….hmmm…sounds a lot like GH during the Phelps years…oh that’s right…she’s helming YR now. During Phelps’ reign at GH, I don’t recall Scorpio being full time there either. It was all the Sonny/Jason show. I just don’t think that YR is the show that one should call stable. GH was on the cusp on cancelation…not so much YR. For GH to be in the re-energized position it is now is frankly a miracle. You can call that sinking ship but you must be watching the wrong port. If you don’t believe Ron then I don’t know what to tell you except please enjoy him on YR.
Again, agreed!
I love Tristan and I respect his right to choose where he wants to work but I will miss him terribly on General Hospital! It is a huge loss to GH and to the GH viewers and a real shame since I believe they had some exciting stories planned in 2014 featuring Robert Scorpio. I hope things work out well for him on Y&R but when his contract there is up, I hope he will return to his GH home!!!
Hi Sharon. But see….that’s where GH is misfiring. They are planning all these so called awesome stories…but expecting non contract actors to stick around and play them out. If you see my post about GH dead weight…when a show has as much dead weight as GH and will not give a contract to a player like Tristan Rogers….there is something wrong. Its like they want to have their cake and eat it too…AKA hiring a bunch of newbies but bringing vets on periodically to grab viewers. I challenge any GH viewer…would you rather see a scene between Brad and Felix…or Robin and Robert? I think I can rest my case comfortably there.
Umm, I love Brad & Felix. And morgan, Ava & derrick/julian. There must be a balance between new & old characters. RV & RC are working with a shoestring ABC budget and doing a fantastic job! It’s not the 80s -90s anymore. Relax and enjoy the wild ride..
I love so many chacracters on GH… too many to mention… but you are right give me a scene with Anna, Robert, Robin and any of the three or all with… Luke, Mac, Maxie, Tracy, Felicia, Patrick, Emma, Noah, Laura, Faison, Dr. O and Nik… and I have to choose those over any others… and I am a huge Carly and Spinelli fan… but to get Anna and Robert and Robin… well it is sheer perfection! The Scorpio’s, the Spencers, and the Quartermaines are that show for me!
Johnny is right on the money here. And that awful Sabrina is about as silly and insipid as Sparkle Pony.
In my mind… Colin is already an established character…
he went for it; his last visit to Genoa City… he sparked intrigue with Jill and Cane… I’ll miss Genevieve.
so… he’s smart to go where he’ll establish and plant roots and grow on another soap.
as Heidi said: as long as he comes back as Robert many more times before GH is sunsetted.
Agree completely Patrick!!!
Why leave GH–when he already has an established, well-loved character?
(Yes, I know why: THEY DIDN’T GIVE HIM A CONTRACT, while giving out long-term contracts to select actors–and NOT the beloved ones! WHY???????????????????
Its the actors choice where he or she wants to work…sounds like Tristian felt limited playing Robert…well, he was at GH longer so of course his Y&R role is fresher with more story to explore…id rather he played Robert but he’s got to do what is best for him and i dont blame him…id do the same…hope they do give him what he wants and i wish him well…he’s been gone from GH b4 and can always return when his contract is up if he wants to and GH wants to bring him back unless Y&R keeps him. GH will go on and itll still be a good show!!!
Now that we are down to so few soaps… I wish the shows could work with these fan favorites and let them do both!!! It’s great for us fans… it’s great for the actors… it’s a win for the shows and it all seems so logical. I will keep hoping that Tristan comes back even if just for glimpses!!! Jim you are right… GH will on it and it will still be good… but with Tristan as Robert… it must be said well written Robert… GH becomes GREAT!!!
I wish the same thing…letting them do both would please most fans…with only 4 soaps left i feel its wise that they try to support each other…and us fans should keep supporting our favorite soaps no matter if one storyline disappoints, or if a certain actor quits…if we dont continue to support the genre, these last 4 may end up cancelled and they’ll be gone forever. i used to watch as many as 8 to 12 soaps a day(flipped channels back and forth to do it and without a remote) and its difficult when one gets cancelled as it is but it would be worse if there was no longer any scripted daytime dramas to watch five days a week…it would almost be pointless to own a tv since there is so little on that i do like to watch.
So true!
“Felt limited”? Tristan Rogers IS Robert Scorpio! Not limited! He could go on forever–just with ad-libs– as the character.
I watch both Y&R and GH..
GH is by far the better soap..
Tristan seems happy to be back at y&R so good for him 🙂
I really wish he would take Robin with him..
I wonder how many others from GH that JFP is hoping to pull over to Y&R..
I also notice, at times, Y&R copying GH ..
quote Tristan;
” We were supposed get those shows done by Oct. 31 but that hadn’t happened yet. I’m still working out those shows now. They added a few more, actually. I’ll be pretty much working up until the show goes dark. ””
(((( what did mean by ”until the show goes black”…??
He could mean when the show goes dark for Thanks giving or Christmas break…I’m not sure which break he was referring to though Thanksgiving or Christmas.
No dark for holiday time-off!!! They go dark for a few weeks this time of year… so the families have time for the holidays!
From his point of view..he went where the contract was offered. No one can fault him for that. From where I sit…GH should be ashamed of themselves for letting him slip away. This show has so much dead weight clinging on…if they’d cut it loose…they could afford contract salaries. Dead weight…Sonny…Sean…Olivia… Felix..Brad…Franco…TJ…Taylor…the show has aseverely bloated cast and we don’t see some of the cast for weeks and months on end. Personally…the Colin/Cain storyline was a convoluted mess and no one had any idea who the character was or what the story should be. Was he a brutal mafia don? Was he a charming mischievous rogue? I hope the show focuses his character because he did have chemistry with Jess walton. And JFP seems to like Having Jess Walton and Jill around…which is strange for her…but welcome to fans. GH will be hurt again because they run the risk of making Robert look like a deadbeat father for not being around after he finds Robin alive. Say what you will about JFP…but on Y and R she has not axed veterans or fired long time cast members. On the contrary…she got rid of a lot of the muddled mess she inherited from MAB and all of our vets are front burner. And she also beivs Traci and Ashley back regularly…which is always a treat. Basically…GH and YR are polar opposites…GH needs to slow down a bit with its frenetic pace..and YR needs to amp it up and tell interconnected stories.
I agree actors should go where there’s work…guaranteed work…meaning a contract. I wish Rogers well in that regard. Based on his interview here, even GH was blindsided by his Rogers management. Rogers didn’t even finish filming what he was supposed to. By no means does anyone have to answer to me but I would have liked Rogers management or Rogers himself to ask GH directly if they had concrete plans for him. If not, then Rogers could move elsewhere. Yes, GH didn’t give him a contract now but he was OK with that going in. I think whatever work your doing at that time should be considered should other offers come in. Looks like Rogers management played a fast one here. Seems like GH didn’t even get a chance to counter offer. Ron said he had some stuff planned for Feb in regards to Robert. Judging by how Robert is being written now, I would have loved to have seen it. Robert is back in full on hero mode with that winking sense of humor intact. Frank may only be able to balance GH’s budget by not offering as many contracts as soaps used to. It’s just sad since Robert has so many relationships he can play off of on GH where as he’s so new on YR. If they have major stuff for him, then good for him and he seems really excited. I just wish I knew that GH had been given the proper time to counter offer. I know it’s show biz but sometimes it sucks. GH has gone on without certain characters for years & decades and will continue to do so…my fingers are always crossed that GH’s fortunes will continue as well.
“Stuff planned”? Bah, humbug! Maybe one day of work.
To paraphrase, Tristan Rogers cannot live on his longtime fans (of Robert Scorpio character) alone; the man (actor) has to eat! He needs a contract.
Of course he made the right choice, although Y&R is boring right now (in my honest opinion but with good stories it could change) as an actor he wants to be challenged..i TOTALLY UNDERSTAND him ! He can always come back later as Robert Scorpio on GH when he will have explore enough Colin on Y&R.
Y&R is a sinking ship. GH is more exciting show right now.
I f “Y & R”, in your own words, is ‘a sinking ship’, how come the ratings are at its highest, even higher than when MAB was in charge??
Ratings don’t lie, Beacon – I take it you are another member of the “I hate Jill Farren Phelps” tribe??
From the sounds of things, he is sick and tired of playing Robert Scorpio, a role that made him a household name in the early 1980’s.
Anthony Geary Syndrome!
I agree.
the first thing… that comes to mind about Robert Scorpio… is WSB Agent… international intrigue and espionage.
well… time flies….
we’re all that much richer for his character.. and yet…
even he realizes it’s time to nest and settle in… and act his age
it’s kinda like TRYing to write for Sonny…. I hope fans agree… Maurice Benard is not well versed and or written… for any thing other than a mob man….
same thing with Tristan Rogers’ Scorpio… he can smile and be animated, express his love for Robin… but… ultimately… if Scorpio were to remain in Port Charles… doing what? working at the police station?
he’s better off romancing Jill and father to Cain to showcase a whole new Tristan
I’m certain TR has in and outs – as in welcome back whenever he’s available.
try writing for Sonny… what to do with him? they lost him.. after Connie died.
try writing for Luke… it’s emmy reel time and he becomes Luke.. thereafter… ???
he finds good scenes with Tracy.
i totally agree with you patrick – i could not have said it better my self…………….excellent post!
No more Emmys for Tony Geary–unless he is given a surefire storyline with Genie Francis and gets his mojo back as the real Luke Spencer, not this oh-so-pale imitation.
I don’t think he’s sick and tired of playing Robert, he’s not around enough for that but I do believe he want to do something new and I know that Robert is GH really great hero and if he’s written even the slightest out of character viewers goes in an uproar. I can see how an actor would love playing a new character that they can do anything with out the worries of upsetting viewers. Colin is basically a fresh character and anything can go.. With Robert? They’ve to tread lightly to not to upset viewers. I liked Tristan as Colin, so I’m looking forward to what in stored for him.
He is kind of tired of this role..and for a good reason..what can you do about the ‘hero’ once he did everything a soap ‘hero’ can do ? Colin is more exiting for him because it is new, fresh and the character can go in lot’s of directions..It is only normal for actor Tristan to chose Colin over Robert for now..now it is up to Y&R to write something good for Colin..
I agree. He’s not tired of the role of Robert Scorpio–you can see that in the twinkle in his eye! But I’ll bet he IS tired of not having a contract at GH.
It will be interesting to have him back on Y&R as Colin.
I just hope they don’t kill him off as Robert on GH.
I think that would be dumb…Why would they kill him off? Robert been in and out for years, He is a spy, he has the job that take him out of town at whim. He could be offered the head director job at the agency, something like on Homeland..He could go be with Holly, etc, etc..There’s plenty of ways to send Robert off without killing him..
Tristan made a mistake. Colin is a horrible character, and the Y&R is a hot mess these days. Robert is his signature role, and I hope he returns to GH as soon as his contract expires. His leaving GH is ruining Robin’s return!
I hate to admit it, but you’re right–Y&R is incredibly dull right now. Lilly, Cane, Vile Kyle, Summer and all these other characters whose names I forget because they are so damn boring are ruining the show. But had they given TR a contract, he would have stayed on GH. I can’t see him with Jill though.
He is amazing with Anna–those two are perfection together.
Tristan will be back to GH,
I just hope Frank and Ron get him back on contract at GH in a year. I love him and GH needs the entire Scorpio family!
Amen to that!
Before Tristan went to GH he was with Y&R we just never seen him..
I was excited when it was announced that Tristan was returning to Y&R over an year back, but he was never used and was only seen for a few seconds on the phone..
Tristan was totally wasted at Y&R and then he went GH, now he’s back at Y&R, go figure..
He was as much if not more wasted on GH..
Its a shame that robert isnt sticking around gh. So many great story possibilities with so many exceptional acting partners. Theres no better bro duo than robert and luke. Plus the complicated relationship between robert and anna still has years of possibilities. The fans are being denied some amazing storiy possibilities with the departure of tristan rogers
what great story possibilities ? Chasing AGAIN the supervilian of the month ? BEEN THERE DONE THAT ! I mean it just happened this week and last few months with the bunch of campy supervilains Faison, DrO, Jerry ect…Once every decade ok..but again and again and again..year after year after year zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
He did what any working actor did. He took a deal that’d better him in the outcome. It’s clear Y&R was offering something more that GH wasn’t, so I’m happy he’s returning. The Colin storyline was too unfinished.
I only hope this means Genie Francis is making a return. Genevieve is well missed, and I loved her character so much! So much more could be done with her.
I totally agree that the Colin story with Jill and Cane was totally unfinished.
I understand tptb predicament at GH with the finances… but how do they not understand having the core GH characters, the ones that actually raise the ratings.. the families the long term audience is invested in: Spencers, Scorpios, Q’s…. well the actors that play THOSE roles are the ones in need of a contract… not the newbies, or the OLTL imports. I wish Tristan all the best. I only watched YnR when Genie Francis was there, and enjoyed her and Mr. Rogers interactions.. but otherwise not invested in any characters over there and will not watch. Especially with JPF at the helm. Couldn’t stand her misogynistic version of GH, or her playing favorites to actors with barely any skill. I have only watched General Hospital, and I will only continue to watch GH…. as long as the characters I care about are around.
Yes, it’s the legacy characters that the viewers care about. And, you’re right; it’s when they return and/or have emotional storylines, like Robert and Anna reuniting with Robin, that the ratings rise.
TPTB are surely missing a chance for greater ratings by not putting Tristan and Genie under contract–and treating Genie with dignity–and a decent storyline that honors the character of Laura. Too bad!
I watch both soaps and Y&R has become so dark with the killing off of another child especially after we just lost Catherine. I agree with Patrick …”the Colin/Cain storyline was a convoluted mess and no one had any idea who the character was or what the story should be.” Colin was a very evil person absolutely hated and despised by Cain. JFP came in then Colin and Genevive vanished ..funny now Colin is coming back now …. Bringing back Tucker would be more interesting ….
hope it works out for all …
Congrats to him, he will always only be Robert Scorpio to me, but since those fools at GH won’t put him under contract I’m glad Y&R appreciates his awesome talent! Gh lost out on that one big time.
Agreed!
I grew up watching Scorpio on GH and return to GH anytime Robert shows back up. Valentini and Cartini missed the mark by not using Tristan as a part of a regular and ongoing storyline. He IS a fan favorite and lured me away to Y&R when he went there. So count me as a Colin fan, and one who can’t wait to see Jill and Colin in action.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
