Tristan Rogers Chats On His Return To Y&R And His Depature From GH!

Fan favorite, Tristan Rogers made a lot of fans happy and a lot of fans unhappy at the same time, when it came to light that the talented actor is rejoining The Young and the Restless as Colin Atkinson in early 2014, and finishing up his stint as the beloved Robert Scorpio on General Hospital.

In a new interview out now from Soap Opera Uncensored, Rogers reveals that he has signed a 12 month contract with the number one soap opera!  In addition, the actors talks on reuniting with Jess Walton (Jill) and looking forward to what may go down in the Colin and Jill romance and making Colin a fully-fleshed out character in the New Year!  While SOU addresses past rumors of any issue between he and current Y&R executive producer, Jill Farren Phelps (who Rogers worked under at GH for a time), Tristan also gives kudos to EP Frank Valentini and how he has resurrected GH from almost certain cancellation almost a year and half ago!  Below are a few interesting excerpts from the interview on what went down behind the scenes to bring Rogers back to Genoa City!

Tristan on how it worked out for him to return to Y&R as Colin: “There was no intrigue or anything like that. My manager got a call at the end of October inquiring about my contractual obligations at GH. My manager said, ‘Well, he doesn’t have any; they’ve run out.’ They said, ‘OK, we’ll get back to you.’ I didn’t hear from them right away, but one day they called and said, ‘Guess what? You’re back on Y&R! It was that quick. It took everyone by surprise, including GH because, at that point, I hadn’t finished the shows I had agreed to film. We were supposed get those shows done by Oct. 31 but that hadn’t happened yet. I’m still working out those shows now. They added a few more, actually. I’ll be pretty much working up until the show goes dark. ”

Tristan on if he was worried he made the wrong choice by leaving GH and heading back to Y&R:  “My memories of Y&R were always very positive. I was treated very well over there. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Working with Jess Walton was great. Working with the late Paul Rauch was great. Working with Daniel Goddard was great. People in my little group there were fantastic! Though, I will sorely miss working with Jeanne Cooper because we had some good stuff together. The other big issue was that Colin has no baggage. He’s a clean sheet of paper. Whereas, of course, Scorpio is nothing but baggage. As Scorpio, you’re always in competition with yourself. Therefore, playing Colin, for me, is easier because I can continue to add to him all the time. There’s nothing in his past that can restrict me in terms of, ‘Oh, you can’t do that because he did this years ago.’ There’s nothing like that on Y&R as Colin. From the perspective of me as an actor, he’s much easier to develop as a character and evolve at this point. Now, I’m not putting my character on GH, Robert Scorpio, down by any means; far from it. I have a huge investment in Robert when it comes to GH. But as a comparison in terms of my future on Y&R, well, I hear there are some interesting things planned.”

So, after reading about Tristan’s thoughts on why he decided to head to Y&R, do you think he made the right choice? Are you looking forward to seeing him reprise the role of Colin? Comment below!

Good for him! Actors go where the work is. I do hope to see him bring Robert back to GH when his time at Y&R is done.

I will miss Robert like crazy…I love this character and have since I first started watching GH. I always look forward to when he is on the canvas (and I hope and pray that he will be able to come back as Port Charles isn’t the same without him and his relationships with Luke, Anna, Robin, et. al). Having said that, I’m thrilled that Tristan has a year-long contract with Y&R. Although there is a little part of me that’s muttering about Robert leaving, I wish him the best in the reincarnation as Colin. (Who knows??? It may be the… Read more »

I love Tristan and love Robert Scorpio. I don’t blame Tristan one bit for taking the Y&R job but I do admit I will miss him as Robert. Hopefully, he’ll come back someday soon!

At least Y&R utilizes their vets/older characters better than any other soap. GH would have made Scorpio part of the woodwork soon enough in favor of the younger crowd.

I don’t blamed Tristan for taken the offer, I love, love Robert Scorpio but I’m hoping he’ll be back but in the meantime? I’ll be checking him out as Colin over on YR.

I understand what Tristan is saying about his playing the two characters. I love him as Robert Scorpio and will always want him back on GH as much as he can be. Tristan is so talented and he should go where the work is and ride it as long as he can. I understand that Y&R and Sony have more investment in the future than the fickle ABC network. For me… GH is number 1 and I will continue to hope… he comes back as Robert many more times before GH is sunsetted. I watch Y&R currently and will welcome… Read more »

As long as Colin’s ex-wife, the ill-conceived character of Genevieve created by Maria Arena Bell, doesn’t show up, I will welcome him whole-heartedly back to the Y & R canvas!!

I liked the character of Genevieve. I absolutely loved Gennie Francis. She and Tristen Rogers had GREAT chemistry. So subtle and connected.

And I am thrilled Colin / Tristen is coming back to Y&R. I haven’t watched GH in forever, so I never saw him.

Well, that places you in the minority re the Genevieve character. I have no problems with Genie Francis; truth be told, almost every character created during the Maria Arena Bell regime were ill-conceived, half-baked, one-dimensional messes only looking for revenge. Do I have to remind you of Daisy, Ryder & Meggie?

I wish Tristan was staying at GH. It has been wonderful having him back with Anna and Robin and Luke. Guess the powers that be at GH weren’t prepared to offer him a long term contract and Y&R was. Actors have to make a living.
I will miss Robert Scorpio and hope he comes back one day.

Well, I guess that puts to rest, once and for all, whether or not it was GH or TR not wanting to commit to a contract, doesn’t it???? I like to think of Robert and Colin as the same character. Just leading a double life! 😉

Nope, they are not the same character at all..Colin is more villain like and Robert more hero like..and that is fun and challenging for an actor..Majority of actors want to play different characters, different lives, different worlds.normal.

If Carlivati and Valentini were arrogant enough to assume that Tristan was sitting around waiting for their call, more power to Tristan leaving a sinking ship for a more stable one.

I don’t believe for one minute that Carlivati had big plans for my beloved Robert for February, because Tristan would have heard from them in October if that was the case.

Sinking ship??? Wow, Kate, do you know something we all don’t? What do you consider stable? Yes YR is still number one but have you not been reading all of the negative press regarding its storylines? They just killed a child onscreen and most of the storylines are so dark, gloomy, and depressing. Heck, Fen is in jail and Michael is fearing he’d get raped….hmmm…sounds a lot like GH during the Phelps years…oh that’s right…she’s helming YR now. During Phelps’ reign at GH, I don’t recall Scorpio being full time there either. It was all the Sonny/Jason show. I just… Read more »

I love Tristan and I respect his right to choose where he wants to work but I will miss him terribly on General Hospital! It is a huge loss to GH and to the GH viewers and a real shame since I believe they had some exciting stories planned in 2014 featuring Robert Scorpio. I hope things work out well for him on Y&R but when his contract there is up, I hope he will return to his GH home!!!

Hi Sharon. But see….that’s where GH is misfiring. They are planning all these so called awesome stories…but expecting non contract actors to stick around and play them out. If you see my post about GH dead weight…when a show has as much dead weight as GH and will not give a contract to a player like Tristan Rogers….there is something wrong. Its like they want to have their cake and eat it too…AKA hiring a bunch of newbies but bringing vets on periodically to grab viewers. I challenge any GH viewer…would you rather see a scene between Brad and Felix…or… Read more »

I love so many chacracters on GH… too many to mention… but you are right give me a scene with Anna, Robert, Robin and any of the three or all with… Luke, Mac, Maxie, Tracy, Felicia, Patrick, Emma, Noah, Laura, Faison, Dr. O and Nik… and I have to choose those over any others… and I am a huge Carly and Spinelli fan… but to get Anna and Robert and Robin… well it is sheer perfection! The Scorpio’s, the Spencers, and the Quartermaines are that show for me!

In my mind… Colin is already an established character…

he went for it; his last visit to Genoa City… he sparked intrigue with Jill and Cane… I’ll miss Genevieve.

so… he’s smart to go where he’ll establish and plant roots and grow on another soap.

as Heidi said: as long as he comes back as Robert many more times before GH is sunsetted.

Now that we are down to so few soaps… I wish the shows could work with these fan favorites and let them do both!!! It’s great for us fans… it’s great for the actors… it’s a win for the shows and it all seems so logical. I will keep hoping that Tristan comes back even if just for glimpses!!! I wish the same thing…letting them do both would please most fans…with only 4 soaps left i feel its wise that they try to support each other…and us fans should keep supporting our favorite soaps no matter if one storyline disappoints, or if a certain actor quits…if we dont continue to support the genre, these last 4 may end up cancelled and they’ll be gone forever. i used to watch as many as 8 to 12 soaps a day(flipped channels back and forth to do it and without a remote) and its difficult when one gets cancelled as it is… Read more »

From his point of view..he went where the contract was offered. No one can fault him for that. From where I sit…GH should be ashamed of themselves for letting him slip away. This show has so much dead weight clinging on…if they’d cut it loose…they could afford contract salaries. Dead weight…Sonny…Sean…Olivia… Felix..Brad…Franco…TJ…Taylor…the show has aseverely bloated cast and we don’t see some of the cast for weeks and months on end. I agree actors should go where there’s work…guaranteed work…meaning a contract. I wish Rogers well in that regard. Based on his interview here, even GH was blindsided by his Rogers management. Rogers didn’t even finish filming what he was supposed to. By no means does anyone have to answer to me but I would have liked Rogers management or Rogers himself to ask GH directly if they had concrete plans for him. Of course he made the right choice, although Y&R is boring right now (in my honest opinion but with good stories it could change) as an actor he wants to be challenged..i TOTALLY UNDERSTAND him ! He can always come back later as Robert Scorpio on GH when he will have explore enough Colin on Y&R.

I don’t think he’s sick and tired of playing Robert, he’s not around enough for that but I do believe he want to do something new and I know that Robert is GH really great hero and if he’s written even the slightest out of character viewers goes in an uproar. I think that would be dumb…Why would they kill him off? Robert been in and out for years, He is a spy, he has the job that take him out of town at whim. He could be offered the head director job at the agency, something like on Homeland..He could go be with Holly, etc, etc..There’s plenty of ways to send Robert off without killing him..

I hate to admit it, but you’re right–Y&R is incredibly dull right now. Lilly, Cane, Vile Kyle, Summer and all these other characters whose names I forget because they are so damn boring are ruining the show. But had they given TR a contract, he would have stayed on GH. He did what any working actor did. He took a deal that’d better him in the outcome. It’s clear Y&R was offering something more that GH wasn’t, so I’m happy he’s returning. The Colin storyline was too unfinished.

I understand tptb predicament at GH with the finances… but how do they not understand having the core GH characters, the ones that actually raise the ratings.. the families the long term audience is invested in: Spencers, Scorpios, Q’s…. well the actors that play THOSE roles are the ones in need of a contract… not the newbies, or the OLTL imports. Yes, it’s the legacy characters that the viewers care about. And, you’re right; it’s when they return and/or have emotional storylines, like Robert and Anna reuniting with Robin, that the ratings rise.
TPTB are surely missing a chance for greater ratings by not putting Tristan and Genie under contract–and treating Genie with dignity–and a decent storyline that honors the character of Laura. Too bad!

I watch both soaps and Y&R has become so dark with the killing off of another child especially after we just lost Catherine. I agree with Patrick …”the Colin/Cain storyline was a convoluted mess and no one had any idea who the character was or what the story should be.” Colin was a very evil person absolutely hated and despised by Cain. I grew up watching Scorpio on GH and return to GH anytime Robert shows back up. Valentini and Cartini missed the mark by not using Tristan as a part of a regular and ongoing storyline. General Hospital

GENERAL HOSPITAL: What’s Up With Elizabeth?

Friday’s episode of General Hospital, finally moved the story of the haunting of Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) along a bit, after it has been a very slow build for the audience. As it turns out, and with the new developments, it appears that Liz has been going in and out of a catatonic state, while sleeping walking.

With a tip from Violet (Jophielle Love), Finn (Michael Easton), who is chatting with Gregory (Gregory Harrison), recalls Liz was having trouble sleeping and was that she given a sleeping aid. He thinks he may be on to something so he decides to go to Liz’s house to talk to her.

Meanwhile, Liz comes to her house and tears Finn and Violet out of the picture that Violet drew, and then gets a scissors and starts cutting pieces off of the drawing, bit by bit.

Cameron (William Lipton) comes home and see his mother.  She does not respond to him and appears in a trance-like state. He is getting more upset by the moment, and then Finn arrives on the scene.

Finn is able to get the scissors from Liz, and also get her to snap out of her trance.  Liz talks with Finn and wonders what is happening? She doesn’t even remember how she got home.  When Cameron fills Liz in on what she was doing … cutting up the drawing and all … Finn tells Liz he believes she is the one who is haunting herself.

In tears, if what Finn is claiming is true, then it is she who is responsible for slashing her dress, setting fire to Franco’s studio, and hitting Chase over the head.  In that moment, a teary-eyed Liz recognizes that something is terribly wrong, saying, “What’s happening to me?”

Finn promises Liz they will get to the bottom of this as Cameron looks on.

So, what is happening to Liz and why? Is this just a case of another sleeping pill storyline on soaps, where someone does not recall their actions or where they are going in the middle of the night a la Nighttime Hope on DAYS? Is someone controlling Liz to make her do these things?  Is something else physically wrong with Liz causing her behavior? Share your thoughts on this storyline … and where you think this is all heading via the comment section below.

GH Alum Sydney Mikayla Talks On Her Daytime Emmy Nomination, Decision To Exit & Her Former Co-Stars

It’s been quite the banner year for Sydney Mikayla (Ex-Trina Robinson, GH) thus far, and she topped it off with her second Daytime Emmy nomination, when a few weeks ago she landed in the Younger Performer in a Drama Series category.  That means, Mikayla will be vying for the gold statuette, but also against some of her dear friends and former co-stars from General Hospital.

Back in March, Mikayla revealed she was leaving the ABC daytime drama series to focus on college full-time where she is a freshman at UCLA. With Sydney’s departure came recasting the role of Trina and the part went in to the capable hands of Tabyana Ali, who is currently appearing on the soap and carrying on the Trina Robinson torch.

As the 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards are just around the corner (they air live next month on June 24th on CBS), Michael Fairman TV caught up with the very busy Mikayla, to get her take on all things Emmy including: the scenes she chose for her nominated reel, working alongside with Nicholas Alexander Chavez and creating what would become the popular “Sprina”, the factors that led to her departure and more. Here’s what Sydney shared below.

Your former co-stars and fellow ‘Younger Actor’ nominees, William Lipton (Cameron) and Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Spencer) appeared on my Daytime Emmy Nominations livestream special, and both share how thrilled they were that that you got nominated.  I know you’re friends with them, but they just could not have spoken more highly of you.

SYDNEY:  That’s so sweet!  I’ve loved working with them for so long.  It just feels so great to know that they said that.

Photo: ABC

What was on your Emmy reel submission that landed you the nomination?

SYDNEY:  I was a little bit nervous this year, more than last year, because last year was the first time that I ever had a storyline.  So, for this year, I was definitely like, “I’m not really sure how this is going to go,” because there’s just so many new elements that were happening with everything that was going on, for example: Trina getting a more acclimated relationship with her mom, and then we had Cyrus (Jeff Kober) come in for a little bit.  I chose the best moments that really showcased my acting, even though it wasn’t a cohesive storyline from start to finish on my reel.  I’m really glad it worked!  I was a little more on pins and needles for this one, and ultimately, it turned out great.

Photo: IG

Was Nicholas Alexander Chavez in any of the scenes you submitted?

SYDNEY:  He was! I got to show that soft side of Trina, which I really didn’t think we got to see, especially in my first Emmy reel, and her being vulnerable.  We never see Trina really make a mistake, so that was really fun.  Not that her relationship was a mistake, but more that we never get to see her slip up or say the wrong thing, or just put herself out there, and put her heart on the line. I enjoyed being able to play that and then being able to put it in my reel.  Nicholas just made it so easy … what an amazing co-star.  He just made me feel so comfortable.  It was just really fun to do and to include.  I also had scenes with the teen scene …there’s five of us! Of course, I had to include Trina’s standoff with Esme (Avery Pohl).  I think, it was actually the last clip I put in on my reel.

Which was a great scene!

SYDNEY:  Yes, and Avery is so sweet, but she plays evil so well.  So, that was also so incredible to do, just that standoff of: ‘Who’s going to win!?  Trina?  Esme?  What’s going to happen?  What’s going to go down?’  No one knew, so that was really fun, too.

Photo: JPI

Did you include scenes between you and Eden McCoy (Joss) as bff’s Trina and Joss on your Emmy reel?

SYDNEY:  Oh, of course, of course! It was some of those heartfelt bestie moments of her just kind of consoling me, and making sure everything was okay between Trina and Esme. I like those heartfelt moments that Trina had with one of her closest friends on the show, and a great friend in real life, as well.

When you found out you were nominated, who was the first person you called … or was your phone blowing up and you were receiving lots of congrats?

SYDNEY:  This year, with being on a college campus and being in person for the first time, it’s really easy to get sick.  So, I was not feeling too great. I was sleeping in my dorm when the nominations came out.  I still keep in contact with my makeup artist from the show, Ali, and she’s so sweet.  We were texting, and she was like, “By the way, congrats”, and kind of kept texting me, and I’m like, “Congrats for what?” I looked, and I was like, “Oh my gosh!  I got nominated!”  So that was pretty funny, and I screamed through my whole dorm!  I posted a video on Instagram because I wanted to keep everyone in the loop, and I really do feel so grateful.  I feel all of the support from my friends, and family, and the fans of the show. I always try to make a video every year to try to just be grateful, or say ‘thank you’ because I really want to key everyone into this journey.  It was a little bit of a shock, but definitely in the midst of not feeling too well, it was the highlight of my day, for sure!  Now, I am feeling that heat of finals at school, but I am so excited. The Emmy definitely breaks up the stress a little bit, so I’m very grateful.

Was there somebody you called to let them know you were nominated, though?

SYDNEY:  I actually called Nicholas and William, first, to say congratulations.  William had called me before I had woken up, and then I called him back, and then of course, I called my mom and dad.  It was also a surprise to them.  I think it was just because I had been so laser-focused on school that looking at the Emmy nominations really wasn’t the priority this year.

Could you believe how popular ‘Sprina’ became so quickly?  They weren’t even a bonafide duo yet!

SYDNEY:  I could not!  I was really shocked, but I was excited to see how much the fans loved it, and how much the fans kind of lived through it. That in turn, gave us more of that ammo to really build that story and build that tension, and to always kind of play those moments in between.  Nicholas did a really great job of that, and of challenging me to always have that subtext, under the lines.  I was really shocked to see how quickly the popularity of Sprina blew up, but I’m grateful that the fans loved it for as long as they.  I hope that they continue to love it with Tabyana Ali playing the part.  She is such an incredible actress and powerhouse.

You were so popular in the role of Trina, and now Tabyana is bringing her take on the role.  Do you check in on GH?

SYDNEY:  Don’t cancel me, but no! (Laughs) I don’t have time to watch TV!  I’m very serious.  I’ve just had so much going on here.  I’m also part of clubs, and leadership is also something that’s very important to me.  I love planning things, and when you’re planning things, that also takes up your time.  So, doing that along with school and just trying to keep my GPA up, I just don’t have the time to check in on it.  I think that was kind of part of it for me too.  On a spiritual level, I always believe that you can’t receive other things in your life, great things, acting or otherwise, until you are able to let things go, and so for me, I knew when I was leaving, I really would have to leave mentally and physically. As much as I love General Hospital (and I really cannot wait to see everyone in person, I really can’t wait to have that big reunion!), I really don’t feel like any part of me is still clinging on to General Hospital. I’m so grateful that the audience has also received Tabyana so well, because that’s exactly what I’ve always wanted.  So, I’m really happy for her, and I’m really happy for both of us.  I think we are both in a great place.

Was making the decision to leave GH a difficult one for you?

SYDNEY:  Honestly, no.  I always kind of knew in the back of my mind that it would have to come at some point because as much as I love General Hospital, I’d really been working for college for all of my life.  I wish someone had told me that colleges really don’t look at anything past high school because I was working really hard in elementary and middle school too!  But that’s my point, I’ve always had this dream of, “I’m going to go to college.  I’m going to get that second education.  I’m going to do really well.  I need to get my degree, and possibly even get my doctorate.”  We’ll see if I even want to go that far, but I know for sure that going to college and getting that bachelor’s was really important for me.  So, I knew that took precedence over anything else in my life.

What are you studying?

SYDNEY:  Right now, I’m studying sociology.  That might change.  Honestly, as a freshman it’s just been really general classes, still kind of general science, general math.  We’ll see as time goes on if I still want to stick with sociology. So, that’s also been really fun, and just meeting people, and experiencing the college life.

You’re in a gender-neutral acting category at the Daytime Emmys …   Outstanding Younger Performer. How do you feel about that because you’re actually competing against your former castmates, Nicholas and William, in the same category?

SYDNEY:  Coming to college, you meet a lot of people who are non-binary. I’ve always wondered how that would work when we are going to have more actors who identify as non-binary as our generation starts to get older and as we start getting cast in these movies. I actually think we are kind of moving towards the future and in the future, it will all be smooshed together for all of the categories.  We are going to eventually do away with the Best Actor and Actress because a lot of people don’t identify as either.  I think either way, whoever wins is going to win.  I’m just really glad to be nominated, and it works for me!

If a role came up in a movie or project that interested you, would you do it, or are you just only concentrating on your studies?

SYDNEY:  We’ll see kind of where life takes me.  It would definitely depend on so many things, of course, but if an opportunity were to present itself, it would definitely just be by a case-by-case basis.  Of course, I’m definitely open to doing things in summer too. During the school year, like I mentioned, it’s really important for me to get this degree.

Is there any favorite moment you had from your time on General Hospital as Trina that you wish you could have included in your Emmy reel, but didn’t?

SYDNEY:  There were so many good moments!  If I could include any moment, I would include one of the blood scenes.  I had never worked with fake blood, and it was sticky, but ultimately a good experience.  I was acting, but there wasn’t much of me talking.  It was more everyone being concerned for me, like, “Why is she covered in blood?  What’s going on?”  So, I don’t think I included that as much, but if they just wanted me to include amazing makeup, then I could have put it in there!  So, it’ll always be in my heart.  It’ll always be in my personal reel, and I hope that counts for something!

I’m assuming you like picking out a dress, and then walking the red carpet?

SYDNEY:  I do!  It’s actually funny because I don’t usually enjoy hair and makeup on a day-to-day basis, but I do think I enjoy the creativity of doing my own look for the Emmys.  I get to be somewhat a little different, like a super awesome version of myself.  I wonder, for celebrities who have to go to red carpets every week if they really like it, but for me to do it a few times a year, I really love it.  I love choosing the aesthetic that I’m going for.  This year, I’m definitely trying to do something classy and stylish.  I’m super excited for you guys to see because I’m beaming even as I talk about it now!

The Daytime Emmys are back to being in-person, after two years of being virtual.  Didn’t you have to tape an acceptance speech last year when you were nominated, in case your name was called?

SYDNEY:  Yes!  It was so funny, one of our producers, Nneka Garland, called me, and she was like, “Oh, it’s going to be in person,” and it just like, snapped for me: “Oh, this is going to be live!” I’m looking forward to that this year.  I’m looking forward to seeing everyone, giving everyone real, in-person hugs!  I can’t wait!

GH’s Michael E. Knight Chats On: Taking on the Role of Martin Grey, Friendship with James Patrick Stuart, and All My Children’s Tad

Last Thursday night during a livestream interview, General Hospital’s Michael E. Knight chatted with Michael Fairman on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel about returning to daytime in the role of legal eagle Martin Grey, and mixing it up with some of the most famous notables and actors that currently and historically have graced the screens on the ABC daytime drama series.

In case you missed it, the replay of the conversation with three-time Daytime Emmy winner is now available.  During the chat, Knight reveals what is has been like to play the on-screen half-brother of Genie Francis (Laura), if he enjoys the courtroom scenes in which Martin had to defend some of the most notorious in town including Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier), and more.

Fans of GH are also enjoying the romantic pairing of Lucy Coe and Martin, pairing Knight with another soap vet, Lynn Herring.  Michael shares that it’s nice to see, and appreciates, the writers creating a fun relationship for a couple that is middle-aged instead of always seeing the younger sets escapades all of the time on daytime TV.

All My Children fans, of course, recall Michael’s memorable performances through the years as Tad Martin, where he became synonymous with Pine Valley.  After AMC came to its conclusion in 2011 on ABC and 2013 with Prospect Park, Knight finally returned to soaps in 2015 in the recurring role of Dr. Simon Neville on The Young and the Restless before joining the cast of GH in 2019.

During the interview, Michael shares behind the scenes stories of working with his on-screen parents, Mary Fickett (Ruth) and Ray MacDonnell (Joe), his enduring on-screen love story with Dixie (Cady McClain), and the heyday of AMC in story, with his on-screen sister, Jenny played by Kim Delaney. When Michael came to GH, viewers recall he actually got to share an inside moment with Kim and the fans, when Martin met Jackie Templeton, then played by Delaney.

During the livestream, Michael recalled several of Tad’s wives, and when one fan asked if Cady McClain might come to GH as Dixie, and that maybe she could be a woman from Martin’s past, Knight shared that it could be interesting.

In a surprise appearance later in the livestream, James Patrick Stuart (Valentin, GH), who has an enduring friendship with Michael, and happened to be at Knight’s house, shared some memories of his time as Will Cortlandt on All My Children. Now decades later, things have come full-circle for the good friends as they share screen-time on General Hospital as Valentin and Martin.

Stuart is a Daytime Emmy nominee this year for the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category at the upcoming 49th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, and we took a moment to congratulate him on being acknowledged by his peers for the second year in a row.  Currently, James is pulling double duty shooting his Disney+ show, Villains of Valley View, while also taping GH.
