Tristan Rogers Teases His Return To General Hospital!

Courtesy/ABC
Great news for longtime General Hospital fans, Robert Scorpio is on the way and will be on the canvas in Port Charles soon! His portrayer, Tristan Rogers teased his return to his popular role on the ABC daytime drama series tweeting: “Alert: Robert Scorpio sighted in Port Charles.”
Now ABC Soaps In Depth also reports that Rogers will be back for a short story arc. Tristan explained while he doesn’t want to say too much, he can reveal that: “There are three distinct stories I seem to be involved in. And that’s okay because that’s the way the character always was.”
Just because Rogers is doing a short GH stint, does not mean he won’t also be appearing on his role as Colin Atkinson on The Young and the Restless. Depending on the timing of the airing episodes, Rogers just might be on two major network soaps at the same time.
So, excited to hear that Tristan is back to GH for a bit? Will Scorpio be on the case and help resolve some of the major mysteries engulfing Port Charles right now? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
yes, I crazy excited about it. Finally, some soap news I’m actually really happy about.
Yes, yes, great news to me also–anytime when Scorpio is in the mix is a good time–that twinkle in the eye and the sarcastic barb is always welcoming. Come home, Tristan and Scorpio!
I think it has something to do with Laura???
Wouldn’t that be nice? Genie and Tristan had great chemistry when Scorpio “romanced” Laura on a date–and Luke got jealous!
And Genie can match Tristan with the improv/barbs!
i hope so…
Wanted to say also that I loved what Genie made of her scene with Jane today. Genie seems to be at peace with the debacle that Tony Geary made of the Luke and Laura iconic love story. She looked lovely and serene in the scene. She grounds GH and gives it a sensibility sorely needed. I look forward to her romantic story line with Jon Lindstom as Laura and Kevin find their way together.
Love Tristan coming back. But he belongs to Anna…”it’s always been Anna.” Love Genie with Kevin. They could have a great double date. But first let’s solve Laura/Helena will and the Cassadine/Nik mysteries together.
I can’t wait to see Tristan and Genie back onscreen together. can’t wait
Nancy, that was when Robert Scorpio mysteriously erupted out of the fog on the docks wearing his London Fog.
Really, even back then I wanted Laura to forget the hysterical blond Afro and go on a plane with Robert leaving Luke alone with his ego.
It would be nice if he could share a scene or two with Laura for old times sake. I was hoping it would happen when he was on set last time, but it didn’t. Remember when Mack told Robert: “Did you know Laura was back in town?” I was hoping it was a tease that Robert and Laura would run into each other at the Metro Court or something. Didn’t happen. Sigh.
I wish he would come home for good. The temporary stints leave me deeply unsatisfied. I hate the Colin character on Y&R, but love Robert Scorpio, the super WSB Spymaster! Tristan come home!
I was hoping Tristan would pop back in at GH.
I like him much better as Robert than I do as Colin.
Look forward to the storylines he will be involved in.
I thought Tristan was on contract at Y&R—doesn’t matter because I’ll take Robert Scorpio any way I can even if he is just on loan from Y&R. I like him as Colin but Scorpio will always be the guy I remember him for the most. I miss his adventures with Luke and Laura.
Nope recurring. Love both characters so as long as he is recurring on both, I can watch him on both. Win, win.
LOVE Robert Scorpio! So many of the legacy characters have great comedic skills (Kin Shriner, Lynn Herring, Jane Elliot, etc.) and they make the show enjoyable to watch (again)!
Dmw…So agree!
It’s because, back then, it was clear they were having fun together and were friends. Viewers can always sense it and it is so much fun to go along for the ride. And Gloria Monty welcomed and encouraged ad libbing. I think, out of respect, the veterans are still allowed to ad lib but the younger actors are expected to stay on script at all times. If what Tony Geary said in one of his interviews is true, the scripts today tell the actors when they are supposed to begin crying and when they are supposed to laugh, etc. He said he and Jane always ignored that stuff and acted the way THEY deemed fit.
dmr: Your statement reminds me of something I was complaining to my husband about the other day. Soaps used to have A LOT of comedy in them back in the day, and it was great. Watching DOOL in 2016 feels like a descent into madness sometimes. Thank goodness GH has some comedy with Franco and Dr. Finn, respectively. Ava and Scottie make me laugh when they share scenes. Diane makes me laugh. I’m grateful there is some humor. I would love some more. Maybe viewership would go up if there were more laughs. There is never a shortage of tears in soaps and there will always be a place for it. It’s OK to make more room for laughs though. I wish they would.
Tristan was removed from last year. It was right after Luke left town. He is doing both shows now.
Good for him.
And since DROOL doesn’t know what to do with Wally K, can we get another Quartermain for Momma Tracy?
Yes, I’d love that! Wally adds grounding and believability to the Q’s.
Yes, we need Wally back for the Quartermains and Tracy!
I got the apparently mistaken impression Ned was coming back either full time or frequently. One of my favorite characters! Would be great to have Scorpio, Jax, Are, Scott all back where they belong…sigh.
Dear autospell…who’s Are? Should be Ned.
I knew it would happen and I heard it would be in October? Glad to hear, they waste him over at Y&R and he is rarely on! Sign him to a full time contract ABC! I hope he either is involved in the Valentin story or the Hornsby story. Either way, Robert and Anna live happily ever after! PLEASE!
Yes, sign him pronto–and do let Robert and Anna have a story–and live happily ever after, of course. 🙂
hey Timmm…
Jill and Colon are a nightmare lol
they are horrible together.. they look old smi-dementia ridden lol
Jill locking him in the attic was gawd awful senile stuff ..
who wrote Tristan so feeble? was the Jean and Shelly..
Tristan in Scorpio !!
looking forward to seeing Tristan, again..
perhaps he’ll be the one to tell Jill to shut-up .. lol
The NEVER EVER had a story for Tristan on Y&R. WHO? JELLY!
I completely agree Su! Hip hip hooray!
Love Jill and Colin but I like Tristan better as Robert Scorpio with Anna.
Oh, su0000, I always enjoy your comments and you often make me laugh, but there was some great stuff between Jill and Colin at Y&R. Jean & Shelly gave us some great stuff, Mariah, Sage, Ian Ward and the very clever way they redeemed Sharon by having her ECT wipe her memory of changing Summer’s DNA results and Phyllis on the staircase. We really don’t know what happened during their time at Y&R and it’s possible the story pace and lack of follow through on stories during their time there was the Executive Producer’s influence or the network’s doing.
Jean and Shelly have done an amazing job at General Hospital the past year. I thought Ron C’s first year and a half at GH were awesome. It was some of the finest, most innovative writing in daytime. But something happened, who knows, burnout, exhaustion, but the quality went down dramatically and the show was very plot driven and weak with very little emotional or romantic stories.
Jean and Shelly have mixed it up, surprised me, made characters more human and made GH the strongest written soap currently on air. They have redeemed Ava slowly by having her care for Nicholas and comfort Laura and show an unselfish side while still being selfish. They’ve let Nina grow and discover herself and become this wonderful more mature woman who helped Carly find Joss’s kidney donor. They’ve taken their time bringing all these characters together and they are the only two to give Liz a real, exciting. They are the only writers to give Genie Francis material worthy of her acting abilities and material to grow stronger. How wonderful are Laura and Kevin? Look how many stories are taking place. Hayden’s friendship with the guy who’s dating Valerie, her friendship with Finn, Nina and Maxie, Ava and Nicholas, look at all these unlikely friendships and romantic pairings.
We see people caring about each other, doing the right thing and growing as human beings. It’s not a giant race to the bottom of the barrel where we wait to see who will sink lower. They are writing stories that elevate characters, challenge their humanity and they have made that interesting. I think their writing is beautiful, well crafted, exciting and inspiring.
I think Chuck Pratt’s stories, and it’s hard to call them stories, are weak. They are flashes where something dramatic exists and that story beat gets repeated a 100 times with no nuances, development or story arcs, Sharon has Christian and will she tell Dylan, REPEAT WEEKLY with no nuance… I won’t go on because I don’t think that writing is worthy of taking the time to criticize.
I’d love Tristan back on both GH and Y&R.
Iraqi Guy…
That was a great post! I agree with a lot of your sentiments about the current stories and character evolvement at GH. Kudos!
GH needs Tristan Rogers much more than Y&R does right now. Robert Scorpio is a staple character on the show, and they should consider putting him back on contract and pairing him with Anna when she returns. I’m not feeling Anna/Andre at all.
ill take Robert Scorpio any day back on GH. Collin on YR is boring and always causing trouble.Unlike Robert Scorpio who is exiting and always takes care of everything.
Weve all watch RobertScorpio team up with Luke and Laura,Holly Sutton,Anna Devane, and several countless stars on GH. When a character like Robert has as many years countless story lines. You never get board when Robert or Anna,Or Luke team up. Its one adventure after the other. Please bring him back full time Anna and Laura need him.
Yes!!! I love RoBert Scorpio!!!
I wish he’d leave Y&R and return to GH full time. Robert Scorpio is a much more interesting character than Colin.
Great news!! Looking forward to seeing him. Wish he could stay around for a while!
Does anyone have any idea what number FV is aiming for as far as cast expansion? I think he’s aiming for the thousands, lol!!!!
Seriously anyone have an educated, or otherwise guess as to why he keeps making the cast so large? I’m a Scorpio fan so that’s great, but why is the cast so big????? Anyone?
I believe that he thinks he is “pacifying” the longstanding, loyal fans by “dropping in” a character they love all the while going stubbornly forward with his own selfish agenda–to cast his “pets” and “favorites” and “slyly” (NOT!) cram them down our throats! You think???? 🙂 He and Tony Geary seem to have one thing in common: they don’t care about the fans at all. Ego for sale, anyone?
Sorry but I think that’s a ridiculous statement. GH is a business. Frank’s not running community theatre. Whatever his reasons are and no matter how many individuals are annoyed, IF the goal is to keep the show going than he’s casting the way he believes will do so. If there!s some corporate plan to sabatage the show and justify it with low ratings than that’s the deal. I would think Frank wants GH to be a success; it’s the genre he knows and I doubt, unless ABC’s offered him a sweet deal when GH kicks the bucket, that he’d purposely run it into the ground. He’s certainly not going to risk his livelihood by casting friends haphazardly.
This is great news! Tristan as Scorpio really adds that certain something to the GH canvas that is greatly needed. Too bad it is only a short story arc but maybe impactful enough to get TPTB into gear and making it more permanent. I would love to see him interact with Laura and of course Anna. And…I really hope the stories are strongly character driven. Too tall an order?
I wonder if Robert’s return has anything to do with the Luke new storyline. Maybe Luke is in Greece with Robert, tracking Valentin.
Wouldn’t it just be rich, if Robert and Luke saved Nik?
CeeCee…Back in the day Scorpio and Luke were practically best friends and had a lot of adventures together. So perhaps Anthony Geary is stepping out of retirement again??? Great GH days! I’m still a Luke fan (even with the Fluke fiasco…there were pieces of that story that were great soapy fun and Anthony Geary was phenomenal in his dual role…but I digress). Love Scorpio and am thrilled he’s back. Hoping he actually he gets to act, lol. His last visit they cast him as wallpaper..just hung at the back of the room at his daughter’s wedding and barely said a word.
Luke and Scorpio together again would be fantastic!
Tony always said he would make a limited return IF the story was worthy. Your theory is an excellent one. Story aside, Mr. Geary would return for Tristan or JJ.
Thank you, Timmmy.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Tristan Rogers and Robert Scorpio!!! Too bad Finola isn’t back yet for them to have scenes together!!!
Tristan and Finola’s chemistry is phenomenal, off the charts! But Tristan has some chemistry with everybody, he’s just that charismatic. Even if he’s only on for a few days, he will provide a spark that GH desperately needs.
Hope she will be–he says he going to be involved in “three storylines.”
he’s not coming back tomorrow, by the time he airs Finola could be back too.
One of my favorite actors on G.H. The show always the best when he is on.
Saw him on very first show and followed all stories too. The show was it’s
best then! Ratings where high.
Welcome back! Wish he could stay longer.
I love Robert Scorpio. So glad he’s making an appearance. GH should give him a contract because Y&R does not use him. He’s only on once in a blue moon. And as much as Anna loved Duke, I always wanted her back with Robert. They are one of my favorite couples. And Tristin is much more interesting as Robert than he is as Colin.
I am glad he is on contract with both shows. I can’t get enough of tha delicious Aussie accent. I could listen to that man read the phone book and I would be in heaven. Love my Tristian Rogers.
He isn’t on contract with either show. He’s on recurring status with both shows, which is how he’s able to appear on Y&R and GH. If he was on contract with one show, he could not appear on the other. Same goes for Wally Kurth on DOOL and GH.
I am loving this news. It would be nice if one of the stories involved Luke and Ethan. It would be nice to have Ethan’s paternity settled once and for all.
Ethan sucks! I dont like the actor or character. Bring in JJ and forget Ethan ever existed!
Maybe the skeleton was Ethan. Not surprising for a son to have a few pieces of Dad’s jewelry if that is the correct word for the stuff Luke wore. And if so, maybe the reason the DNA didn’t match is because he is really Robert’s son.
I would love Ethan to return…permanently! Love Nathan Parsons; he was great in True Blood and The Originals…but I’d be surprised if he returned to daytime full time. Maybe a short stint…
Ooh! That could be Marie…Ethan had a bracelet and earring! Hope not…
Scorpio has always been one of my favorite characters.
I cannot wait for Robert’s return. I just hope Holly is with him. They are the epitome of class, romance, and they sizzle. Robert and Anna only were together for Robin, and because Duke and Holly were supposedly dead. All Robert and Anna did was argue. Please let Robert and Holly have their HEA! This is what both actors want!
You cannot just bring someone back. Holly needs a purpose and that wouldnt entail a long stay for Tristan and it is only a drop by. Maybe next time?
Excites me every amd anytime I hear Robert Scorpio is returning to the show. I miss the adventure of the old days and wish they’d bring Robert and the Wsb back full time. Contract please
I think those days/years are gone…
That saddens me. I don’t see enough fans of the adventure days speak online about wanting those kinds if stories back to make it clear to abc etc how much those days are missed. The reason for supercouple are called super is because the went against evil and triumphed together.
Glad he’ll be back, but I’m sure whatever story he’s in will be a mess with the hacks Jean and Shelley writing it.
Always nice to see Tristan back but since I’m sure it is only for a few episodes, it’s hard to get real into whatever story he’ll be involved in. GH should dump 20 characters and hite him bk permanently.
I would really like to know when Mayor Lomax is going to be found out about and the fact that the ballot box was tampered with so that Felicia can become Mayor and get a star role again and Robert Scorpio helping in making that happen. I would also like to know when they will be showing more of the kids on the show since they are a huge part of the show. They use to show kids playing at the house while the grown ups were having conversations. Monica has been on the show the longest, when are they going to really show her Grandma side, she learned from the best Lila Quartermaine! Family in every sense of the word was the foundation of General Hospital. There was the Hardys, Webbers, Kellys, Quartermaines, Cassadines, Spencers, Baldwins, Scorpios, Wards, Corinthos’, the list could go on…..
Just 5 eps for him. FV must be joking. This cannot be real. Plus Genie is leaving. Finola is gone still. I’m still waiting for them to do a poll for the viewers like B&B and Y&R.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC
Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
