Tyler Christopher on Status with General Hospital: "I'll Still Be Hanging Around Port Charles!"

Great news for Nikolas Cassadine and General Hospital fans! While Tyler Christopher (Nikolas) awaits news to see if his ABC Family series, The Lying Game gets a renewal pick-up this summer, the talented actor let his fans and followers know via his Twitter account that he is going to stick around Port Charles for now!
Tyler first tweeted on the status of The Lying Game, “So not ideal news for #thelyinggame as it appears that a decision won’t be made until mid summer. Thanks for all your support.” He then followed that up with another tweet relating, “In the meantime, I’ll still be hanging around #portcharles!”
With Tyler still available to film new episodes of General Hospital, could this mean there is a major triangle ahead for A.J./Liz/Nikolas? Will we then get to see more scenes between Tyler and his on-screen mom, Genie Francis as Laura? Will more Cassadine drama continue to unfold?

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

General Hospital Fan Club Weekend brought out many of your favorites to the four day event; with the main cast gathering on Saturday, August 1. Fans near and far attended the weekend held this year at the Burbank Marriott Hotel. Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80
Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.
PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.

I have always loved his dynamic with Tony Geary (Luke), so I hope there’s more of that. Used to be hatred, now it’s some kind of respect and Luke even smiled at him when he walked in a couple weeks ago.
anybody know exactly WHEN Luke has warmed up toward Nik? I know he used to loathe Nik but don’t recall when and why he warms up to Nik.
I don’t remember the “why,” but I think I remember the “when”–it was when the other actor (Colton something/Steve Martines) was playing Nicholas for those few years when Tyler took a break. It might have had to do with when Stavros was around the last time, in 2001 or so. I just remember scenes with the two of them (Luke and interim-Nik) having to work together on some “adventure” or other and deciding they sort of liked each other after all.
Unless, of course, they rewrote that later and put the hostility back into the relations; I stopped paying careful attention to that kind of thing during the JFP years.
How did Luke react to the Nik-Elizabeth affair? I remember a scene in which he told Lucky if somebody needed to be shot, let him be the one to do it, but I took that as his wanting to spare Lucky a trial and prison rather than any real animosity toward either Nik or Liz. Other than that I don’t remember much about Luke’s reaction.
Love The Lying Game n do hope it gets renewed but ❤❤ the possibilities of Tyler aka Nicholas hanging around…now if we can get his good friend Kimberly aka Robin back I would be a happy camper❤❤❤

Very happy to hear the good news about Tyler,even though I like the lying game too. He is a great actor and I love seeing him on any show but, on GH he is very special . no, don’t recast Jason. SB has been playing the role for too long that I don’t think it would be a good idea to recast Jason. If SB ever comes back, I hope Jason will forget about his past as Jason Morgan,,, and becomes Jason Quartermaine again. We have had enough of the mob for the last decade plus. No more mob please.
The contracts were with the actors, not the characters. So there’s no reason they would be voided, even if anyone had wanted such a thing.

I love The Lying Game and have watched it because of Tyler! I hope it gets renewed and he can work on both GH and The Lying Game! I would like to see him stop or cease the Liz and AJ relationship… I just don’t like Liz with AJ… would much prefer her with Nikolas… if he would stay for awhile and not leave her so fast!
Tyler is looking so great and he’s so fun to have around. Would love more time with Genie and him… would love him being there for Lulu. Would love to see him hook up Tracy against AJ to get Pickle Lila and ELQ back on track… that would be a great storyline! I am just glad he’s back for now and I hope they use him well!!!

First of all, very happy that TC will be staying with GH (hopefully, even if LG gets a pick-up, he can figure out a way to do both). Secondly, I wouldn’t mind seeing Nik/Liz revisited, but only if it’s done properly this time. No demonizing the characters for the purpose of turning the audience against them (yes, I’m referring to you, Mr. Guza…Ugh). I’d also like to see Nik get involved in the ELQ s/l, and a new Cassadine mystery would be great. There are so many ways for RC to utilize the character. Can’t wait to see what happens.
The question was how should GH use TC so how this got to be about Jason I have no idea. Some people just can’t let Steve Burton go. I love him to, so I watch him on Y&R. Glad his character is gone. Now on to the important topic.
Tyler’s Nikolas has so many story possibilities. First, I want he and Elizabeth to have a chance to see if what they had together before was just chemistry, and boy did they ever have chemistry, or was it the beginning of something more. So I say YES to Liz and Nikolas. Lucky is a non-factor. He hasn’t even called to check on his son in over a year and instead has chosen to go take care of orphans in Africa. Liz has spent the best part of her life trying to pay Lucky back for saving her as a teenager. I say let it go. Emily is gone. I think the fact that we saw her ghost says it all. She died in 2007, that was 6 years ago. Nikolas should be allowed to move on too. I want them raising their boys together. As the defacto head of the Cassadine family, Nikolas can be involved in plenty of stories. I would love to see him invest in ELQ, maybe helping Tracy out, so that he and AJ would be rivals not only for Liz’s affection but in the business world. Nikolas also needs to get back on the board of the hospital soon b/c that place has serious security issues. Anyone can walk in to the lab and use it for any reason, even change a paternity test. Someone needs to work on GH security. LOL

As an A.J. supporter I’m disappointed Nuikolas is staying as he has apparently forgotten the damage he caused the last time he and Elizabeth got together. Besides, she brings out the best in A.J., and I want to see their romance as a story of two people seeking redemption from the outside world while seeking out each other. A.J. and Elizabeth have a lot more in common than Nikolas and Elizabeth: they both grew up within their families as the resident ‘black sheep”, forever being outshone by their siblings and also having a history of bad luck in relationships, and both also are capable of self-destructive behavior that has led to heartache for themselves and others. As kindred souls, A.J. andv Elizabeth can help each other and something wonderful can result!

I started watching again for the Nurses Ball and am a long time GH fan. However, the Cassadines and Corinthos are concentrated on way too much. I hope they can get some of that mid to late 90’s stuff back. I loved Lucy and Kevin with Mac and Felicia back then, great comedy with those four. Hopefully, the producers and writers can tap back into that and don’t get suckered into the Frisco fan’s revolt and bring his character back again. A character, I might add, that I loved back in the day, so I am not bashing him. Sorry Frisco fans. Hope all your boo boo’s have healed.

I am a very happy viewer now that Tyler is back! I loved him as a partner for Liz in their past relationship and was very sorry that they broke up. I hope he sticks around for a long time and I certainly hope he and Liz stay as a couple. It will be really interesting to see AJ and Nicholas battle it out. I also enjoy watching the relationship between Nicholas and Laura. Luke needs to get over his animosity toward him. Looking forward to all the storylines involving Nicholas.

Hope Nik stays around a long time. Love him and Liz together. They have great chemistry and they are bonded by their past and long time friendship. Just glad they no longer have to worry about cheating on Lucky. That was just wrong, especially when JJ was playing Lucky. Liz and AJ just don’t do it for me. Feels like Liz is just trying to hang on to a piece of Jason. Add to all that, Liz and Nik are just so pretty together. (Too bad soap stars never get considered for the cover of People magazine’s Most Beautiful People issue. Miss Paltrow and Mr. Whoever move over and make way for some real beauties!) Also excited to see Nic interact with his mom and LuLu and , of course, with Luke (LOL).
