Daytime Emmy winner, Tyler Christopher, took to his Instagram account to let his fans. former colleagues, and friends know that he is headed back to California to continue his acting career and get back to what he loves to do most – turn in those amazing performance that soap audiences have come to know during his runs as Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital and Stefan O DiMera on Days of our Lives.

In his post Christopher explained:Coming back to California. Miss you friends. After a near death experience in December, doesn’t matter. I’m ready to start over again and get back to work. Can’t wait to see you all!”

Tyler had moved to Indiana, and as had been reported he had struggles with his battles for sobriety, and ultimately his wife Brienne Pedrigo filed for divorce.

Now, turning the page and creating a new chapter in his life, Tyler is looking forward to being back in Hollywood, and his friends and co-stars are definitely rooting him on including: Greg Vaughan (Ex-Lucky, GH Ex-Eric, DAYS) who shared, “Let’s GO” while GH’s Maura West (Ava) sent him a comment full of hearts, and the former Steven Lars of GH, Scott Reeves, expressed, “Amen bro! Happy for you.”

Check out Tyler’s post below.  Then let us know, where you would like to see Tyler next … on a soap, film, daytime, primetime? Share your thoughts via the comment section.

Hope he can join Bold & Beautiful in 2021.

And pair him with Heather Thom, that girl needs a man and a storyline. Her talents are sooo wasted

Bring him back to GH and kicked that horrible impression of him to the curb!

Prince Nicholas

I like this Nik way better

Agree, Phil. Loving Nu Nic! He and Ava just burn up the screen! Great chemistry…

I happen to love the present Nick C.

Agree, Lin!

I like new nikolas, but would
be happy to see Tyler return

No way. LOVE Nu Nic as do many!

Some people come back from the dead and they look no different and ACT no different!

I would love to see him back with Liz in General Hospital. They were HOT together!!!

IT’S a FEAST for the eyes and senses’. Tyler Christopher is on daytime for that specific reason… PLUS he’s a solid actor

you have no idea how much fun it was to see him win best lead actor over , so glad you retired, Tony Geary’ Luke. PLUS his time @DAYS of our Lives NETTED him another BEST LEAD ACTOR nomination. that’s no small feat… especially when it’s on two shows…. I have always loved sharing how much Tyler is daytime answer to Kevin Costner… just so dreamy , fills the romance department.. and ooh la la the masculinity just drives

@GH has GOLD and then some… what with Britta, Ava, and Liz… still on the show. i’m grinning from ear to ear and heart thump… this opportunity is ???? mind affect… HERE AND NOW

Tyler Christopher – you are able
Tyler Christopher – you are present
Tyler Christopher – you are loved

you are one of the best

Well, I never understood what all the fuss was about Kevin Costner either. I just don’t care for the strong, silent types.

I’m all for giving people a second chance and more importantly, he’s a much better actor than the human mannequin that’s playing Nicholas now, so he should make a future for himself instead of throwing his life away.

I wish him all the best! However, the new Nicolas has really grown on me and I think he has great chemistry with Ava.

the difference between the New Nicholas and Ava.. is so vast… it’s insurmountable…. she looks closer to being his grandmother. @GH is even trying to make Avery with Ava APPEAR like THAT CLOSE KNIT, familial? forget about the “blackmail” the sexuality between these two was what drove these two. to chastity themselves ? oy

Ava: hold ALL your martinis “girl” this twosome is doomed… this picture show isn’t drawing any one in

New Nicholas and Ava are Hot!!
luv the couple..
Ava doesn’t look closer to being Nikolas’s grandmother..
Now- Anna looks like Finn’s grandmother, for sure..
I hope Ava will get her dark side back, she was exciting!
hey! Franco and Ava both should go dark together- awesome!

Findlay Hughes looks fantastic, and NOT like Finn’s grandmother! She’s beautiful and still has that willowy dancer’s body she had in Stayin Alive 38 years ago.

Its Fiona Hughes not Findlay, love her too.

Right on Patrick!
You nailed it.

Hey, Patrick. How are you? First…the actor playing Nic (Marcos Coloma) is younger than Maura West but not by much; they’re both in their 40s in real life. And, just like real life, one might look older than the other…but, so what? I think they are HOT together and I’ve been hoping from almost day one that GH doesn’t mess with them and have him going back to Liz. We shall see…

I think he’s Hot!

I like the new one he fits the part now. He looks to young for Ava. I like the the other one but don’t he would fit with Ava as this one. He’s more for Elizabeth

Agree, Davy! I absolutely adore the Nu Nic and I think he and Ava are incredible together! Amazing chemistry! Would hate them to lose Marcus Coloma (Nicolas).

Back to General Hospital !!

Hope he comes back!!! Miss him. GH IS NOT YHE SAME WITHOUT YOU!!!! Please please come back n stay for a long time!!!!

i truly think Ava has run its course… gallery schmallia…w/no Kiki, Julian gone… @gh has no cajones to write for Ava and Kevin ! this is the money maker… and/or … the fire, tantalize with Tyler Christopher with Maura West is what blew this all up. bringing back Tyler to dance with Britta, Ava, Liz ??? what fire… let this rage

I love the new nickolus please leave. Him on the show

Yes! Me too !

Would love to see you in anything you would like, you are a great actor and man.❤️

I would love to see him back on GH. I don’t really care for the new Nicholas

I would like him back as Nik on GH! Or switch with Brandon Barish. I’m torn love Tyler as Nik the most! He was also good as Stefan. Brandon Barish is good as both Stefan and Johnny Zacara.

Would love to dee him back on GH as Nikolas

If Tyler has gotten sober and cleaned up his act, I would love to see him back on General Hospital. I was so disappointed when he didn’t return as Nikolas, although I obviously certainly understood once news of his personal issues came out. I do think Marcus Coloma has gotten better in the role than when he first started, but Tyler is the only true Nikolas Cassadine. However, with GH’s recent budget cuts and trimming of the cast, I’m not sure that would be a good fit at the moment.

Nicholas Cassadine us PLEASE!

No Pun intended to Marcus, but we all know Tyler is REAL Cassadine!

Maura West never really got her opportunity to make the Ava/Nicholas storyline work with the original Nicholas

Every Nicholas Maura has been paired with has been with a recast of Nicholas.

I’m not really a fan of his. I have preferred his recasts on both Days (Brandon Barash) and GH (Marcus Colama). Hopefully he will join Y&R or B&B if he joins a soap again. I don’t watch either.

Wouldn’t it be awesome to see him back as Nikolas, and with Britt again? I admit that I like the new actor playing Nikolas, too. Wonder if Tyler still has his grey pants and burgundy shirt he used to wear constantly as Nikolas?

I really liked him on GH and DAYS but also really like the actors who replaced him on those shows. So happy that he’s gotten himself together and wish him every happiness and success as he moves forward. That being said, I wouldn’t want to see the actors currently playing Nikolas or Jake (Stephan) be given the boot so he could return to one of those roles. Hope he finds something fresh for his fresh start.

Agree!

I am wishing him nothing but the best in his return; I know he has battled his demons, and I am hoping he is on the right track right now, especially after a near-death experience. Perhaps a surprise return as Stefan on Days of Our Lives, or a brand-new character, again?

Tyler Christopher PROVED he could be a new character.. albeit a DiMera on @DAYS of OUR Lives… he stepped up to the plate… despite his “flaws” which is an addiction beyond.. yet he reigned them in, yes peeps with an emmy nomination in best lead actor.

his capabilities, his contribution, his wherewithal… do carry his REEL. he’s a proven co worker. he’s a proven attribute

Oh no i loved Julian wanted u n Alexis to get back together

Would be awesome to see him back on GH as Prince Nicholas.

If his near death experience doesn’t matter, why mention it at all?

I like the new Nik M.C. and don’t think he should be fired to bring T.C. back.

I would love to see Tyler as Nicolas on General Hospital again! Others have done well, but he’s made for the role! Tyler is a natural. GH needs to bring him back!!!

I wish he would come back as Nikolas I miss him on GH I think a lot of us are . . I just hope he is doing much better i haven’t seen him on any movies .

‘Days of Our Lives’ Officially Confirms Ryan Quan Returning as Co-Head Writer Beginning in July

Published

There is definitely a shake-up going down at the writing team at Peacock’s Days of Our Lives. Now, the long-running soap opera has confirmed, what has been previously reported, that current General Hospital breakdown writer, Ryan Quan is heading back to his old stomping grounds in Salem. This time as the series co-head writer.

The appointment of Quan comes with the official news that current co-head writer, Paula Cwikly, who was previously rumored to be departing the series, is not. She is staying with the soap opera and transitioning to a consultant role with the show. Now, Quan will join current co-head writer, Jeanne Marie Ford to steer the ship for the characters on the canvas.

On Wednesday, TV Insider, reported the official confirmation and that Quan will return to DAYS next month in July. In a statement to the outlet, executive producer, Ken Corday expressed, ‘We are lucky to have Ryan back in the fold. There are very few people who have such a deep knowledge and understanding of our show’s history. Stay tuned!”

THE FUTURE OF DAYS OF OUR LIVES

Since Days of our Lives unusual production schedule tapes ten-months ahead of air, the new creative team’s vision led by Quan and Jeanne Marie Ford are not expected to stream on Peacock until mid-2027.

Days of Our Lives is currently renewed through its 63rd season. The former NBC soap opera which transitioned to Peacock in September of 2022, celebrate its 60th anniversary in November of 2025.

The writing regime change comes after NBCUniversal Media Chairman Matt Strauss revealed that Peacock is expected to turn a profit for the first time in the current quarter, punctuating their investment with the enduring soap opera on its platform.

As for Quan, his knowledge of Salem is tremendous. Ryan joined Days of Our Lives as a writer’s assistant in 2007 after some time over at Passions. He then spent two decades and held every position on the writing team where he previously served as co-head writer from 2016-17 alongside Dena Higley.

Later, when Ron Carlivati took over as head writer for 7 years in 2017, Quan became his right-hand man and main story consultant for his deep knowledge of the history and the legacy of the show. After Carlivati exited the show in 2024, General Hospital hired Quan in 2025.

So, what do you think about DAYS making it official with Ryan Quan as the new co-head writer of the series alongside Jeanne Marie Ford. What do you think about the fact we won’t see the changes on-screen till 2027? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

ABC Announces ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Texas Spin-Off Gets Straight-to-Series Order

Published

By

In a surprise move, coming a week after ABC unveiled its 2026-2027 fall television schedule, Grey’s Anatomy is getting a new spinoff co-created by the original series’ creator/executive producer Shonda Rhimes.

The new untitled medical drama will be written and executive produced by Rhimes and Grey’s Anatomy showrunner/executive producer Meg Marinis under the Shondaland and 20th Television umbrella. In addition, long-running ‘Grey’s’ star Ellen Pompeo will also serve as an EP of the spinoff.

The upcoming new series will debut midseason in 2027. This will be the first of Grey’s franchise not set in urban city or West Coast locale. According to Deadline, the new “edgy drama is about a team at a rural West Texas medical center — the last chance for care before miles of nowhere.”

Photo: ABC

In a statement, Marinis shared, “I am incredibly excited to expand the Grey’s Anatomy universe. This opportunity will bring new characters and stories to life that will embody the same heart, emotion and connection audiences have loved from Grey’s for more than two decades — all set in my home state of Texas. I am so grateful to Shonda Rhimes for creating this dynamic world and feel so fortunate that I get to be a part of it.”

A NEW GROUP OF DOCTORS IN RURAL TEXAS

The Texas spinoff will feature a a new group of doctors, but there will be some connection to the OG Grey’s Anatomy and possibly to Debbie Allen’s character of Catherine Fox. The amount of episodes in the series order has not yet been determined. Previous Grey’s Anatomy spinoffs were the defunct Station 19 and Private Practice.

Previously, Grey’s Anatomy was renewed for its upcoming 23rd season while the amount of episodes is unclear.  The last two seasons the series produced 18 episodes.

It should also be noted, Grey’s Anatomy and the Texas spinoff would likely share a time period, which requires limited-run orders for both with Grey’s premiering in the fall, followed by the spinoff on the midseason programming block.

So, what do you think about a Texas spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy coming in 2027? Who would you like to see from daytime or primetime as some of the featured roles as new doctors? Put on your casting directors hat and let us know via the comment section below.
