After much speculation, Vail Bloom (Heather Stevens) herself has confirmed that she is gone from The Young and the Restless in a new interview out on Tuesday.

Viewers watched in shock, when on last Thursday’s episode of the top-rated soap opera, Heather met her maker when in a confrontation with Sharon (Sharon Case), she bonked her head and apparently bled out on the floor. Details of this are still suspect as Sharon blacked out during a key part of this sequence.

Speaking with TV Insider on Heather’s ‘apparent’ demise, Bloom shared she was a bit blind-sided by the storyline-dictated move, “I had about three weeks’ notice. It’s always surprising when you get that news, but you’re aware that that can happen. That’s just the world of soaps. But any time you get news like that, it’s shocking because you love the character and it was such a beautiful, long run woven in and out through a couple decades.”

However, Vail did come forth with that we may have not seen the end of Heather Stevens, but how and where and why remains to be seen. The actress expressed, “I think resurrection is always cool. I’m a huge fan of resurrection. I think what’s really fun about daytime as opposed to maybe other formats is you can experience things beyond your wildest dreams. I would be open to it if the fans really wanted to see more of Heather again.”

Bloom did tease that it looks like Sharon will be haunted by Heather, meaning Bloom could have filmed some additional scenes before she wrapped her latest run, “The one person who may just see Heather again is Sharon. I don’t think it’s the last time you’ll see Heather.”

When Y&R cast the role of Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) daughter, Bloom first came to Y&R in 2007. She left in 2010 (and the role was recast with Eden Riegel and Jen Landon). Vail then made her return appearances starting in 2023 picking up the Daniel (Michael Graziadei) and Heather love story and all of its complications.

So, what do you think? Is Vail Bloom wrapped for good at Y&R? Is she going to be another ‘ghostly’ vision of Sharon’s? Are you sad to see Vail officially exit the soap for now? Comment below.

You know heather is alive otherwise there be no coming back do Sharon

No it’s possible there is an unknown third person who actually killed Heather, so Heather stays dead and Sharon is off the hook because she wasn’t the one who did it.

Sharon, new crazy is a turn off, getting away planting evidence on Daniel, is crazy I want her to get caught get back to normal.

I’m sad that Vail Bloom is leaving for now ( I get actresses & actors have other projects). But I’m excited to see Heather again .

I don’t want to see Heather out of the show. It will be hard on Lucy

Lucy is a pain, a spoiled brat and I hope they send her to live with Paul. She acts stupid, running after Faith, is she crushing on her or what.? She caused a lot of this stuff between her dad and Sharon.

I agree & it will be hard on Daniel too. I liked Heather

I am disappointed she is leaving because they just got back together as a family. This was not a good move for me.

I think Heather and Lucy are terrible actresses!

Oh I think she a great actress just needs a more exciting storyline!

I think this story line is crazy. Noy happyeith it at all and will stop watching!

I need Victor to start playing mean again I don’t like Victor being soft or Phyllis.

Guess you haven’t been watching Victor using his same old ways to get what he wants. Using Lily to get Billy’s business and Kyle to go after Jack. This man never stops, same old SOB as always!

I don’t wish for Heather to leave, I hope that this is one of Sharon’s crazy dream. I wouldn’t want Sharon to wind up in prision.

Sharon needs to be in a pysc Ward and she looks crazy she use to beautiful they got her looking old and Nick is fine fine fine.

Sharon is such a crazy and I don’t know what happened to her once beautiful looks. She is looking really old and worn lately.Sure hope don’t don’t set her up with Nick again.

If this is supposed to be Sharon’s dream, than the whole show is a dream, hiw else do you explain the craziness?

Please let this be a dream!! If not that means Sharon will be leaving too.

Agree

Right now, I can’t say, that would be a b a d thing, enough is enough!

I agree. Leave Sharon alone!!

I’m getting really tired of the storyline with Sharon being so crazy & I just want her back as sweet Sharon

I like Sharon she is beautiful and conducts herself as a great mom and example of how much a mom should be in their children lives.
Please get rid of Cameron, enough already he is gone stay gone.
Phyllis is a pain and has no formal training to make decisions on crime and who did it or alleged committed the crimes.

Y&R sure wants to decimate any vestiges of the Williams family. But I am not sure Heather needs to be alive. I’d say yes if Paul was around but that won’t happen. Daniel has more story potential now too.

Miracles can still happen and they can convince Doug Davidson to return to the soap with the right bait! –

Let us have Heather back. We need some good outcomes in these trying times. We need some stability and good feelings along with the exciting drama. I have been a fan for fifty years. I have seen my favorite and much loved Y&R do this and do it well. Give us your fans something to look forward to.

Totally agree. Sharon drama is becoming very boring! I would love to see Heather come back. I was enjoying the reconcile of her and Daiel reuniting.

I liked having Heather on the show and back with Daniel and Lucy. How can she be killed off? So now Sharron should go to prison for life. So shouldn’t she be gone to? You can’t let Sharron get away with murder and disposing the body. What because she don’t remember she gets to her life. Doesn’t make sense. Anyways sad to see Heather go. Good luck to her.

There’s a red herring in here somewhere. Sharon Case was given a standalone episode to commemorate her 30 years on the show. I don’t think the show would have given her that if they have plans to write out her character. I can’t figure out if the Heather character is alive or really dead but I am positive we’re getting a twist in this storyline at some point soon.

That sounds right since Sharon sees dead people.

It’s a stupid decision to kill off both of Paul’s children. If she is really dead, this totally writes Sharon into a corner. Heather needs to be alive and the majority of this needs to be jn Shaekn’s head!

Dumb move on the writers. Don’t have Heather die!!

I had an Idea that it was Lucy’s biological mom Daisy now I’m convinced it is. Heather is gone because of her.

Wow, that is very interesting!

I believe there is an unknown third person involved in all this, so I love the idea that it could be Daisy. Daisy is twisted enough to mess with Sharon’s meds, somehow be behind fueling Sharon’s hatred of Daniel to convince her to kill him– Daisy gets revenge, Sharon gets the blame. Classic soap set up. Heather just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time– Daisy takes advantage of the situation and kills Heather while Sharon passed out. I like this theory– I hope that is what happened.

Never thought about that but I like that idea to .I want Sharon and nick to get back together ❤️

Sorry to see Heather go. To me she was the most natural actor on the show. Wish they had taken Sharon off. Ever since she had her weird face changes..they have made her character weird and exhausting. So tired of this part of y and r.

Sharon gets away with everything she does and come out smelling like a rose. I think this is a very dark scene and I wished Heather didn’t have to leave the show this way. So unrealistic!

Pleeze don’t have Heather die. She is a fantastic actress.

I sure hope they don’t bring any more ghost back, that’s so in real it’s ridiculous to say the least… how many have ghost come back to have chats with them,, so stupid,.,, please either bring her back alive or let her stay dead,, geez,,, getting tired of these ghost stories,,,

I’ll say bring her back alive . I hate that Heather had to leave.

I agree! I am getting tired of Sharon and Cameron! Intensionally missed watching this week to avoid their episodes! Let’s get with it. More Victor!

Yes indeed. The story line just goes on and on and ON!! Writers need to do better than this!

I just feel sorry for Sharon as she has been in the show forever, why did the writers put her in such a despicable role. It should be that awful Phyllis that gets those roles.

I can see your point. I will never feel the same about Sharon, even if it turns out to be a dream. It will be like we were all tricked into this crap and when all the nonsense is over, we are just supposed to forget Sharon’s craziness with that bloody jerk hanging all over her, telling her what to do, and how to do it! I’m through with Sharon, no matter how it turns out.

Get rid of the Cameron saga so I don’t have to fast forward thru so much of the story…get a new line…

Absolutely! I have been fast forwarding a lot more these days.

Yes. Definitely!!

I really hope this is all a crazy dream Sharon is having. This is not Sharon & it doesn’t seem right. I can’t keep watching this show if this is for real.

I hate to see Heather kill off her and Daniel just got back together. I’m hoping that maybe Sharon has a tumor causing her to be crazy the way she is and she slipped into a coma and it’s all been a dream.

It’s time to end the whole Sharon and the ediot with the blood stained shirt everyone is tired of this story line

Amen.

OMG…..you are right about that shirt!!! Must smell by now…lol. Me thinks we are having “another” DALLAS moment? Will Heather come back in the shower………ummmm?

Get rid of Sharon..
Get rid of Diane…
Get rid of Nate…

Personally, I am tired of the crazy Sharon story line! It’s been going on too long. Way TOO long.

A Serious “CAT-FIGHT” Would be More Beneficial to Gain VIWERS! To Kill-off Heather, Suddenly, Kinda’ Confusing!

Y&R has totally gone off the deep end with this storyline! So much I don’t want to watch anymore …. Sharon Case is one of the best actresses in daytime – but to always make her go crazy is just wrong – so many struggles only to go down the the darkest of dark – she deserves to come out on top & finally find some sort of happiness- The only way out for Sharon is a Bobby Ewing episode ! Don’t want to see her leave the show – She’s sooo authentic in her acting .

Heather was too smart not talk Sharon down before things got heated. I also agree with others about the way that Sharon’s looks are disturbing as is her voice. It’s sad when in the pursuit of youth celebrities ruin their faces.

I’m really going to miss Heather my husband and I love her.

I can’t take much more of this crazy crap with Sharon, doesnt evenl leave room for pity or compassion here.I just want it to be over. You notice her shoes are on the right foot, her shirts not on backward, her hairs styled, etc, etc. She’s cooking baking, driving, functioning well. How can they have us believe she can just kill someone and that makes her out of control, or out of touch with reality. She needs to be caught, charged and arrested for Heather’s death. I bet they will try putting it on Daniel. They always go after the husband or wife. Also, her taking orders from Cameron, a dead person in her mind is disgusting, when he leaves this show, I hope to never see him again.0

Cameron and that bloody shirt has us all fast forwarding. It’s beyond disgusting!!! So is the story line. It’s disrespectful to do to such a great actress who has been a great resource to the Genoa City community.

I’m really sad and shocked that Heather is gone. Sharon’s issue has been drawn out for too long. I was really hoping that Sharon would wake up, and that Heather’s death was just a dream.

Yes sad to see her go. Loved her the first time around. Was excited to see her back. But now gone again. Hope she comes back as ghost or a twin or lost sister.

Let’s just get rid of Sharon or have her character move on which help.

I am hoping this is one of those “soap dreams”

Please don’t take her out she will be missed and hard on her daughter. Love you Heather.

I like Heather character, I don’t care for Shaton, way she’s now is crazy.

I think she’ll come back as a ghost and haunt Sharon to the cra,y house.

Longtime Y&R fan but not liking recent storylines, if anything Sharon Case should get a break, come back “normal” – or have Danny & Family move away again ….

hope she stays dead and sharon pays for it

I don’t like the whole story line with Sharon getting more and more unstable and seeing Cameron direct her life. Why can’t we have decent scripts? And I don’t like bringing back “dead” people. If you have to replace an actress, do it, but don’t kill them off and bring them back. Ludicrous

I absolutely love her and just her special and positive resilience can’t Believe she like gone. I almost was annoyed at Sharon. This is not fair . Bring her back bring her back make it a bad dream as everyone was so seriously hoping for. She is Such a good character to center the Mom of Lucy and she played it right. So Why we need some normal with spice. Sometimes quicker because she is a lawyer but has class. So please Bring her back .

For me both Sharon and Victor are getting the fast forward! Sharon is terribly sick and Victor excessively controlling!

I am sick of this story line !

The Sharon storyline is exhausting. I hope this does not go on for long. I thought Chance was smart, but this makes him look dumb….. he should have seen Sharon acting weird when they were talking. He’s not that good of a detective, which they portrayed him to be great…. NOT..!!!

Just hope this storyline ends soon..

Heather can haunt Sharon and also the person that actually killed her!!

Bring Heather back for good…

Yes let’s bring her back!

Yes

They need to let Sharon play normal with helping people and if they don’t bring Heather back ,let her death be an accident

I would love to see Heather come back I think it’s wonderful to see stars of that era on y&r come back and she was just getting GOING And running with her character before her Demise with Sharon, and of course see that Sharon didn’t really do it, I’m Sure the writers can come up with a Great storyline for Heather’s return

I hate that she’s gone – I want her back

I hope Heather comes back, but first please let Sharon be the blame for Heathers death, not Daniel!

I pray Heather comes back!

We want Heather back!!! It was said that her twin sister would be the dead one And that’s definitely what they should do!!

Bring Heather back

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

Published

Patrick J. Gibbons

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

Photo: JPI

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

Photo: PGibbons

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.

So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘Guiding Light’s’ Grant Aleksander Shares Heartfelt Remembrance of TV Daughter, Hayden Panettiere On What Would Have Been Her 37th Birthday

Published

The tragic death of Hayden Panettiere last Sunday on August 21 continues to rock the entertainment world as her passing is still under investigation. Sadly, the former Guiding Light and Nashville star, died just days before her 37th birthday.

Now Grant Aleksander who played her on-screen father, Phillip Spaulding on Guiding Light a role he played on and off for nearly 30 years,  shared a touching tribute with The Locher Room via Instagram, to his former TV daughter on her birthday on Friday, August 21.

It was back in 1996-2000 that Panettiere played the role of Phillip and Beth’s (Beth Chamberlin) daughter, Lizzie Spaulding. When Hayden was on-screen her performances were outstanding even as a little girl.

Photo: CBS

Aleksander began, When I think of Hayden the first image that comes is of her running down the hall in the studio with a huge, toothy grin on her face. Literally bursting with joy. And that’s what she gave to us. Pure, infectious joy. That and a talent that belied her years.”

“She was a natural with an instinctive understanding of acting that most adult actors can only dream of possessing. But that’s not what I’ll remember most about her. It’s that sunshine she brought to all of us that were lucky enough to be in her orbit that will stay with me, expressed Grant.

He concluded with, “I’ll always cherish the years I got to be her tv Dad. I wish I could have seen her one more time just to tell her how proud I was of her. She’s left us way too soon. We can only hope that she’s finally found the peace that eluded her in her short life. Rest in peace Princess!”

Michael Fairman TV previously shared emotional tributes from many of Hayden’s co-stars here, plus Jonathan Jackson (ex-Lucky, GH and ex-Avery, Nashville) who wrote a beautiful tribute to his former co-star.

So, do you remember the scenes between a young Lizzie and Phillip on Guiding Light? What did you think of Grant Aleksander’s words? Let us know via the comment section below. Here’s just a sampling below, of how great Hayden was with her scene partner, Grant.
