Vail Bloom OUT at The Young and the Restless?
It looks like Heather Stevens had been killed-off on The Young and the Restless marking the end of Vail Bloom’s most recent run on the CBS daytime drama series, although the series is not officially commenting on her status with the show.
Rumors have been circulating that Bloom, who has been on recurring status with the soap, would be leaving, but there has been no word from the actress as of this writing on social media, either. Then, on the Thursday, September 26th episode of Y&R, Heather met her maker when in a confrontation with a deeply-disturbed Sharon (Sharon Case), she conked the back of her head and was bleeding out on Daniel’s apartment floor.
If there is a twist coming to the story, could it be that Heather is actually alive and the events we saw transpire are all in Sharon’s troubled imagination? When speaking with Michael Fairman during her recent visit to You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel, Case had teased on her current storyline, “This is is a page-turner. This has a lot of twists and turns. So, even when you think you do have it figured out or ‘now you know,’ that’s going to change. I guarantee you it’s going to change several times. There’ll be different circumstances that will come up, different people and characters, and it wildly shifts.”

Meanwhile, the role of Paul Williams’ (Doug Davidson) adult version of his daughter was first played by Bloom, when she joined The Young and the Restless in 2007 and ended her run the first time in 2010. The soap brought back the character when All My Children favorite Eden Riegel (ex-Bianca Montgomery) took over later in 2010, but she exited in 2011.
Next, three-time Daytime Emmy winner, Jen Landon (ex-Gwen, As the World Turns) played the part in 2012. No one had seen the character since 2023, when Heather returned to the Genoa City canvas as part of the return of Michael Graziadei to his signature soap-role as Daniel Romalotti.
So, do you think Vail Bloom is no longer at The Young and the Restless? Do you think Sharon is imaging the whole thing and Heather is alive and well? Comment below.
I for one hope it’s a dream because I don’t know how the character comes back from this. Going to hang with it because I like Case she has taken everything every writer has thrown her and smiled she is a team player. The interview she had with MF gave me hope it will be a page turner I’m not happy if she murdered someone
If Sharon did kill Heather then she should do life in prison. Any other out come would just be insane. I hate this story line.
It’s complete justice! Daniel deserves the same suffering that Sharon endured for 20 years.
No he doesn’t deserve it. Daniel didn’t kill Cassie, she was responsible for her demise. She was a spoiled brat her parents couldn’t handle.
I don’t care at this point. This boring crap with Sharon is the worst I’ve seen in many years on Y&R. We know darn well they are not throwing Sharon to the wolves so we just have to watch the mess, or not!
What Violet said.
Hope not because this is a exit for case also I just not sure it is what it seems
No sadly she doesn’t leave. If only it was that.
If Heather is indeed dead, then I doubt Sharon did it, but she believed she did it so got rid of the body.
Also since Sharon started acting so odd for no reason, and she was apparently taking her meds, it’s possible there could be a third person who tampered with her meds to make Sharon mentally unstable. Then this third person was following her, took advantage of the situation at the apartment when Sharon passed out, killed Heather in order to gaslight Sharon in believing she did it.
A third unexpected person who hates Sharon, being behind all of it, would definitely add another twist to the story and seems the most likely way to redeem the character at some point– I sincerely doubt Y&R is going to blow up the character Sharon permanently.
But whatever it is, kudos to Case– she’s got a great Emmy reel in the making with this storyline.
Typical Sharon stans who act like this crazy bitch can’t make wrong. She’s able to kill in cold blood.
I like your explanation of what’s going on with Sharon the best from all the other theories I’ve read.
Interesting! But who could the third person be? Phyllis is not that crazy anymore – pain in the ass, but I don’t see her doing that. Nikki, I think she’s pass her hatred of Sharon. I like your theory.
I can’t believe that out if the blue there could be a third person that has it in for Sharon or Heather, for that matter, None of it makes sense and is one of the worst SLs they’ve ever done. Why do they want us to hate Sharon Case? The only thing I can think of is that they are using this SL to bring Paul back and being the great detective he is, he will want to be there himself to find his daughter’s murderer.
In all the years I’ve watched, I’ve never known one person to hate Sharon.,we all know Niicki thought she was after the Newman money, but she’s mellowed out over the years.Even Phylliss was just jealous and resentful of Sharon, because of Nick, but this is not her doing, Hopefully, if Paul comes back, he will straighten Sharon out as well as finding Heather’s killer. He and Sharon were in love years ago and she was married to his son , Dylan that he and Nicki share, that is now in Witness Protection.
I agree, that this whole cockemami story is not to get rid of Sharon Case, one of their favorites, there are a lot less convoluted ways of doing it.
I hope she imagining this bc this is getting stupid. Little way out there.
Heather is not dead.
Oh really? Was that a dummy in the Morgue?
Noooooo. Love Vail Bloom. She is soo cool and confident in her portrayal of Heather, Paul’s daughter. Carrying the legacy of a major past character and the last of the Williams.
Pls let something have happened in between when Sharon fell asleep and awoke to find her body. Just when you think Josh Griffith couldn’t get any worse!
I hope he didn’t kill off Heather.
JG should be fired if he killed Heather. This story needs to be his demise.
I agree. This will be JG fault. I liked Heather.
If a character needs to be killed, it’s Sharon, she ran her course on this show, she isn’t needed. I get fed up of all the favoritism for her. Others celebrated 30 or 40 years on this show and they don’t get one whole week of shows all about her. More she commits crimes she never pays for. It’s time to write for other characters who are ignored since a too long time.
I do not like this story. I don’t know how Sharon could come back from this. She can’t say she was insane because she knew enough to cover up Heather’s death. I don’t like that they killed Heather. I am hoping this is some nightmare/dream or something.
I’m not a fan of Heather, but I bet she’s not dead—it’s a soap!! I ‘m not even sure if this is real—regardless, Sharon was incredibly believable ( pardon the oxymoron)—She must have really studied the behavior of someone with such a mental malady.
Not a fan of Heather? This cannot be the Celia I knew and loved! I really enjoyed the scenes with Heather and Sharon. Both actresses did well. Whether its fake or not, they both showed the range they have IF they actually got someone to write a story with some juicy parts!
Celia…girl, as we all know, just about all soap characters NEVER, EVER die. And if they do die…they don’t stay dead for long. Oh, those soaps. LOL
My dear…have a good one.
I think she imagined this
Yes
Very upsetting storyline. If she’s dead – it’s a deep cloud over Y and R.
Please let this be a nightmare
I was hoping that Sharon killing Heather was a hallucination.
Another blog suggested it was Daisy /Lucys bio Mom from hell. I think I will sit this one out. This is about the fourth mental illness JG has come up with . Depressing
When and why does CBS allow Griffith to perform character assassination? This is not the compelling show that it used to be. I can’t believe they are still the #1 show.
Doug Davidson is not coming back so who ever is telling that story is a lie . He has put young and the restless in the rear view mirror as he said . The best of that show ended a long time ago .
I learned something a long time ago, Never Say Never!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
