Victoria Rowell in online response to Y&R rep contacting her on bringing back Dru!
According to Victoria Rowell’s series of tweets today on her twitter account , a certain rep from The Young and the Restless was in contact with her to discuss a possible return to the show as Drucilla Winters, and that according to Rowell, “Maria Arena Bell was trying to bring her back” to Genoa City.
Rowell on twitter stated: “So, for the past 3 days there’s been an appointed liaison between Maria Bell and myself, contacting me via text, at my Atlanta home &in LA. I found it odd first of all, that I was being approached as a respected & tenured actor, with theatrical representation in this way. I was insulted to learn that Maria Arena Bell was “trying” to bring me back. Phooey! After everything I’ve given and been through on Y&R…The word TRY shouldn’t even be in the mix. A respectful business call would have been appropriate. And so you see, EVEN on a business level. There is a demonstration of disrespect. I know for a fact Maria made it possible for Eric Braeden’s return so how hard did she TRY for him? I have this to say: It’s all contingent upon who is perceived as important, WHO Maria is willing to take lumps 4 & WHOSE bluffs she’ll call. I stand by the integrity of my work and know my value. If anyone would like to discuss business please contact my attorney, Chuck Hurewitz.”
The Victoria Rowell and Y&R debate/discussion/controversy/… continues!
Victoria Rowell is full of herself, yes she played the role of Dru like no other, but she is ridiculous. I hope they don’t bring her back. I feel she has disrespected the powers that be at Y&R once again in a public forum. She has a lack of class and a big mouth.
What a bitch.
I’m sorry to hear that there is so much discord between the talent (Ms. Rowell) and the creative powers that be over at Y&R. Please find a way to work out your creative differences so that the long-time fans of the show can continue to enjoy Drucilla! Young and the Restless should seriously move mountains to bring her back, and I hope that Ms. Rowell will get the appreciation she deserves and perhaps lose a touch of the ego so that millions of fans get what they want. We want DRUCILLA. Play nice, kids!
Indeed. Dru needs to come back. Neil is dull and almost invisible w/ out her!
Although VR has a pt abt keeping it professional by giving her a business phone call, VR’s complaining is just way too much. Maybe they’re texting her as a way of opening the dialogue.
Then if that goes well (w/c didn’t), they’ll make the calls, set a meeting in person, and talk abt her return. The fact that MAB actually is initiating some kind of way for Dru to return is great on her part, despite the actors that would be against VR’s return. However, how difficult is VR compared to Zimmer, Strasser, Braeden, etc.?
What the heck does VR want? Stafford’s head on a platter as a peace offering to her? LOL. I don’t think Y&R should ask for her to return. They should just kill off the Winters clan and be done w/ it. VR messed up her chances at a return.
Ugh! Something is amiss. Never really watched Y & R, but I am familiar with Victoria as well as her character on the show. I find it funny how Victoria is calling someone out for “unprofessional” behavior yet her own actions are very similar. Surely, she could have texted back or even phone to say I am interested in talking, can you have Maria give me a call? Her decision to put this info. out on twitter shows me a) she is being unprofessional herself and b) she probably just needs more press so she can continue to promote her book. It seems that lately there have been a number of reports and interviews on things that appaerently were not kisher with Victoria on the set of Y & R. Why now? Why has she started yet another publicity tour, or so it seems, where she bashes Y & R? Publicity, promotion to sell her book, perhaps? I believe that if Victoria truly thought she had been handled in an unprofessional manner and that her firing was not legit, she would have pursued legal remedies to force Y & R and CBS to correct their behavior. Just my opinion. But, I will say for someone who is so publicly outspoken about dying at the chance to return to Y & R, is this the way to react to their proposed interest in having her return? I think not! I would have thought had she been sincere in her proclamations that she would LOVE to return to the soap, she would have been grateful for the texts, excited and would have personally called to say “Yes! Let’s meet, lets make this happen!”. Like I said, something is amiss.
And it is a shame, because she seems to be a great actress and soap character. Methinks Victoria may have got a little too full of herself and has yet to be humbled, brought back down to reality.
Shut this wretched biatch up already!!!
They clearly DO NOT want her back, she is starting to really look pathetic!! She is an attention whore whose book did not get the attention her egomaniacal mind thought it would. She should stop going through the press like this and start eating a big ol slice of humble pie.
Just finished checking out Victoria’s twitter page. It is clear to me she has an axe to grind. Many posts about Y & R and what she perceived as unfair treatment. Clearly, her past statements where she said she would love to return to Y & R are in direct contrast to her posts. I found many of her posts to be childish and make it appears as is she is out for revenge. I wonder if she realizes how unprofessional her own posts are, and how bad she actually comes off. Does not seem like much of a class act AT ALL.
I have a producer who was in negotiations with VR about joining another project . She clearly wants to be respected and given an opportunity to write, direct, produce and, also be in a front burner story. However, when given all she requested, it wasn’t enough. VR is professional, talented and beautiful yet may be doing all she can to get her other projects produced and her book higher on the bestseller lists. She is a kind person but even I, from a far, have been watching this public argument and I am not impressed. I believe the past is the past and every one in the soap industry needs to be grateful for the opportunities they are given. VR should have taken advantage of the opportunities she had on her plate to create her own destiny with a new show and then, by succeeding, she would have made her point.
Well it looks like VR won’t be back to Y&R anytime soon, if ever, and this time it’s her own fault. Very disappointing all around for a “professional” to respond to what she’s been wanting for so long in such a way.
Check out her twitter page now. Even more smack she is talking about Y & R. I find it hard to believe that she would allow of these incidents totake place while she was there and NOT say anything at the time. Why wait so long to speak out? Makes me question the validity of some of her “stories”. Sad, because without these outbursts she could be so successul back on daytime and what show would not want her back? Apparently, none of them do and you have toa sk, is it because of her reputation? One would think so. Back to why I find all this so appalling is I think she has a pure heart and the best of motives when it comes to bringing awareness to adoption and foster care. For that, I applaud her efforts.
VR is an amazing talent. She is unbelievably pretty and gifted. The Winters family have long been background or scenery. Sadly we see that Dru was the shining light of the family. Neil is unbelievably dull without her. All the love interests they’ve tried to pair him with since Dru’s departure have crashed and burned. Frankly Lilly either needs to be miraculously healed or her characther needs to go away for treatment and stay. The cancer story line is losing steam for me.
VR may be overracting to having received a text from someone. But, if the message was truly from anyone in the ‘front office’ of the shows production….. they should know better than to text. It’s like those party crashers at the White House saying they’d been sent an email rather than an invitation. Puhleaze!
If VR had been contacted in the appropriate manner and then went off on a tangent her actions would show she’s truly trippin’. Handle up and contact her in the right manner. The show knows she’s high maintenance. I think they get a kick out of her acting crazy, too.
She is in my opinion the ONLY Dru. I mean look at the train wreck that is the new Malcolm. Some characters shouldn’t be re-cast.
Victoria I would for u to come back. But only can make that decision and I hope it is the right one. And no matter what lydw will always love character and u thanks for listening to me. I miss your character, but girl don’t let them cheat u.
Victoria Rowell!!!!!!!! You can only control yourself. Be the best actress you can be on Y&R, if you don’t own it stop bitching. When you don’t own the bank you don’t make the decission.
you go Victoria

i voted!!!
Victoria Rowell has no class. I’m glad she’s off Y&R. They should send the whole Winters clan packing. They are extremely boring. Maybe Ms. Rowell should consider doing Real Housewives of Atlanta. She has a lot in common w/ those classless ghetto whores.
i want Dru to come back… i was pi**ed when they took her off. she was the only reason why i watched Y&R when i was a kid.. i have read some of the things that has been posted by all.. but one thing is true, that soap is NOT the same without her, yes she may have been over the top a little by putting that Info on Twitter, but NONE of us know what she really went through with the Big Wigs over Y&R. i will go to sigh the petition with hopes that she return to Y&R so they can get that terrible Sofia that is “clearly” trying to walk in the #1 spot. news flash. NEVER will she be Dru… she was rulled out the day she entered Y&R that that wanna be Dru’s sassiness. heck naw!
You go! Although, me and so many like me, would love to see you back on the show. It has not been the same since you have been gone. It’s beginning to get pretty boring and we know that you could put the much needed spice in the show.
We think it would be wonderful for Lily’s mother to reappear in her life, now that she is married and has those twins.
For your Fans, and believe me you have plenty of them, won’t you come back to Y&R???

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
