In honor of Days of our Lives 45th anniversary celebration, On-Air On-Soaps has a week’s worth of fan voting polls leading up to next Saturday’s, November 6th, A DAYS OF DAYS event with the cast. On-Air On-Soaps will be on hand at the annual press and fan fest taping video interviews with all your Salem favorites, and during our time with the stars we will announce to them and for the first time, the chosen winners as picked by you, their loyal viewing audience, in several fun categories. And yes, your picks will receive the DAYS 45/On-Air On-Soaps Gold Medal for a keepsake. Think of this as the voting Olympics for die-hard or even the most casual DAYS fan.
Here’s the rules and all you have to do! Vote for only ONE nominee in each category. You can only vote once from one IP address, so make it count! Vote all the way up until Friday night, November 5th at 10PM PST when the polls close. Last night we revealed the nominees for Favorite Hero, Hottie and Baddie, and tonight we reveal the two new categories with nominations for Favorite Flawed Heroine… Salem is filled with them, and Favorite Duo. Go the Polls below!
The June 22 episode of Days of Our Lives reminded us all of why Deidre Hall is iconic in the role of Dr. Marlena Evans. Here we are 50 years later, and Marlena is still the heroine of the long-running soap opera, and Deidre remains one of the most most recognizable names in the history of soaps.
To pay tribute, and to look back at the life and times of Marlena, the story starts with Marlena flipping through a photo album of her with John (the late Drake Hogestyn) over the years. As she misses him dearly, she gets a knock on the door and its none other than John’s son, Paul Narita (Christopher Sean).
With Andrew (Colton Little) in Salem working on a case, he sits down with Marlena, who says she can’t believe its been fifty years since she first arrived in Salem! Cue: Deidre’s first scenes on DAYS when she finds Mickey Horton (the late John Clarke) playing chess against himself inside the mental institution she worked.

THE FLASHBACKS OF MARLENA’S LIFE
From there, viewers definitely got the cliff notes version of the history of Marlena and entrenched within them, some of the biggest moments in Deidre’s enduring run.
Paul thinks he is looking at 70s, and early 80s Marlena while going through her scrapbook, but he is actually looking at her twin, Samantha (Andrea Hall). Cue: when Marlena confronted Samantha about impersonating her, and then later getting a call on her radio show from the Salem Strangler (Jack Coleman as Jake Kostichek) who killed Samantha thinking it was Marlena.
In the present, Belle (Martha Madison) has arrived at this time to meet up with Paul, unaware of this trip down memory lane. She wants to go over the findings in the chess board mystery Stefano willed to Marlena and John, in private with him, since Marlena previously said she wanted nothing to do with it.
Back to the history lesson, Marlena speaks highly of Don Craig and even though their marriage didn’t work out, she could find a path forward with the new love her life, Roman Brady. (Wayne Northrop however is never shown, possibly to keep the story focused on John as Roman for confusion sakes?)
Paul sees a photo of a young Carrie (Christie Clark) in the album and Marlena says she was such a godsend after losing her baby. In fact, Marlena says caring for Carrie prepared her for her having and raising her own twins, Eric and Sami. Cue: The twin visiting Marlena in the hospital.
JOHN AND MARLENA’S LOVE CONQUERED ALL
Then, in a way to get through and incorporate the wild storylines only Marlena could have been in, she tells Belle and Paul, she has been through so much in her life, how lucky she was to find John, and some of the most unbelievable experiences no one could imagine. Cue: Marlena possessed by the devil and levitating from the bed. Next, John confronting Marlena being the Salem Stalker, where she admits she killed Alice Horton, pretends she needs help, then pulls a gun on her beloved John!
The comment is made by Paul and Marlena, that she literally has been to hell and back and she could not have survived were it not for her beloved John. Cue the big emotional highpoint clips; The Pier Scene! Marlena steps out of the fog when John sees her from a distance. After believing she was dead for four years, here she was before him in one of the greatest reunions in a soap opera love story in history. What followed were other times of the life of times of Jarlena.

MARLENA’S ‘GIFT’ FROM STEFANO HAS A NEW CLUE
When Marlena makes a brief exit to the other room, Belle fills in Paul on the chess set Stefano left her mother and the photo of the Lire. Paul said he will investigate. Marlena comes back into the room and overhears, and says to promise her if things get dangerous he will back off, she does not want anyone hurt by Stefano’s games.
As the episode comes to a conclusion, it’s just Belle and Marlena going through the photo album giggling about 70s hairstyles and all the memories. Belle speaks on the impact Marlena has had in everyone’s lives, and that she is both the heart of their family and the heart of Salem.
An end card comes up acknowledging Deidre Hall’s 50th anniversary as Marlena, and we fade to black.

If you have ever tuned-in to the soap opera genre over the last 50 years, and witnessed some of the greatest romances, drama, classic and outlandish storylines of all-time, you would have seen Deidre Hall smack dab in the middle of it as longtime Salem heroine, Dr. Marlena Evans.
It was 50 years on this date, June 21, 1976 that Hall first appeared on DAYS on NBC which was its home for 57 years before it moved to its current streaming platform on Peacock in September of 2022.
In Hall’s first episode she was introduced as a psychiatrist treating Mickey Horton (John Clarke) at Bayview Sanitarium after he suffered a complete mental breakdown. Mickey learned that his brother Bill Horton (Edward Mallory) was the biological son of Mike Horton (Wesley Eure) with his wife Laura (Susan Flannery) and that he had been lied to for years and years. From that moment on, the rest is television and soap opera history. Days of Our Lives put Hall front and center.

There were so many heartbreaking and shocking story twists involving the beloved Marlena. One of the first was the historic crib death of baby DJ (Don Jr.) in 1980, Marlena’s infant son with Don Craig (Jed Allan). The story had never been told on daytime television and Hall’s performances received accolades from TV critics to fans when Deidre received thousands of letters from grieving mothers who had gone through the same thing in their own lives.
DAYS also brought Deidre’s twin sister, Andrea Hall Lovell to the show as her on-screen sister Samantha, who had a grudge and even locked Marlena up in a sanitarium and took her place! Fast-forward and in 1982, DAYS launched the Salem Strangler story where everyone believed Marlena was his next victim, only it turned out to be Samatha. Jake Kositchek (played by Jack Coleman) was revealed to be the actual serial killer.
Later, Deidre would assume the role of Marlena’s look-alike, Hattie Adams in 2004, once played by her sister, Andrea. Over the years, Hattie has come back to Salem and caused trouble giving Hall a chance to play a different type of character, then the always upstanding Marlena.

THE LOVES OF MARLENA
Deidre Hall struck gold with all her leading men: from the late Jed Allan, to Wayne Northrop as Roman Brady, and of course, her enduring love story with the late John Black played by the iconic Drake Hogestyn. In fact, Marlena’s 1986 wedding to John (who was believed to be Roman at the time) remains a favorite of fans to this day.
TOP MARLENA STORYLINES OF ALL-TIME
While the list is long, here are several that were some of the memorable during Deidre’s five decades in Salem!
The Possession (1994- 1995)
Considered one of the most ambiguous, outlandish and unforgettable story arcs in soap opera history, then Days of Our Lives head writer, James Reilly went there! Marlena was possessed by the devil! That included; the demonic eyes, hissing at father John (Black) the priest, morphing into creatures, and the classic levitating in her bed! It became a cultural phenomenon and cemented Deidre Hall’s status as a daytime television legend. Just ask Ryan Gosling!

The Affair with John Black (1993)
John and Marlena’s forbidden love could not be denied and they had passionate affair, while she was still married to the real Roman. Problem was her daughter, Sami (Alison Sweeney) caught her mother having sex with John on a desk that changed Sami forever.
The Salem Stalker Mystery (2003-2004)
In a shocker, Marlena was revealed to be a serial killer who bumped off several Salem favorites residents who were all alive on the island of Melaswen (spelled “New Salem” backward). Turns out, she was manipulated and gaslighted by Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) to do the “killings” and had no memory of her actions.
The Pier Scene (1991)
This remains Michael Fairman TV’s all-time favorite Deidre Hall moment, which featured some of the best acting in the storied careers of both Hall and Drake Hogestyn.
In the story, a presumed-dead Marlena returns after four years. One foggy night on the pier, John is alone, and Marlena steps out of the fog to reveal herself, and is reunited with the love of her life. You can watch it any year, any decade, and in any moment, and it will have you reaching for the hankies again and again. (best music score fo a soap scene of all-time too!)

Kristen’s Secret Room Reveal (1997)
Marlena was caught in Kristen Blake’s (Eileen Davidson) elaborate web of lies, when she was held hostage in a secret wine cellar/room until John managed to track her down, leading to an iconic on-screen reunion. The classic catfight between Hall and Eileen Davidson was one for the ages.
It should be noted that Maison Blanche, Queen of the Night, Possession, Aremid and Lady in a Cage were all a part of classic DAYS storyline and all featured Hall at the epicenter of it from 1993-1996.
THE RECENT YEARS OF MARLENA
In recent years, DAYS brought back the possession 2.0 storyline under then head writer Ron Carlivati in 2021 where the devil leapt back in Marlena after taking advantage of a frail Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes)
In 2025, viewers watched the end of the love story of John and Marlena, as John succumbed to injuries sustained in an explosion saving a vial of medication needed to bring Bo (Peter Reckell) back to life. Marlena has been a widow on-screen since June of 2025 as Hall as portrayed the good doctor struggling with her grief and to move on with her life since his death.

One story that never goes away is Stefano DiMera’s (the late Joe Mascolo) obsession with Marlena, his “Queen of the Night.” Even in death, Stefano is toying with her from the great beyond with the mysterious chess set and the missing “pawn,” that he had gifted John and Marlena in his will. The mystery is currently unfolding on all-new episodes of Days of Our Lives.

Al Calderon Reflects on ‘Major Chapters’ Coming to an End on ‘Days of Our Lives’ and ‘Brilliant Minds’
It’s been a bittersweet time for Al Calderon. The talented actor/singer/songwriter has watched from his vantage point to roles he loved so much come to their conclusion for different reasons.
In a heartfelt message posted to his Instagram story on Saturday, Calderon took a moment to share how grateful he was for the opportunity to play Javi Hernandez on Days of Our Lives, and nurse Nico Silva this year on NBC’s second season of Brilliant Minds. Currently, Brilliant Minds has two more episodes that will air on June 24 and the series finale on July 1.
Calderon expressed, “As I sit here reflecting on this lovely Saturday afternoon over the last two years of my life, I have two major chapters closing that have been part of my life every day for the last two years. We have Brilliant Minds. Our last episodes are wrapping up, and then my last scenes aired yesterday as me as Javi on Days of Our Lives.

“I’m just unbelievably grateful for the chance and the opportunity to be a part of something so much larger than me,” continued Al. “I (will) love Days of Our Lives forever, my family. Thank you for supporting me and supporting my decision to take the leap of faith and believe in myself and, and tell other stories. You know, it’s never goodbye. It’s always ‘see you later’ to me and just leaving with love and leading with love.”
Al concluded with a special mention to some very important people, the fans: “Thank you to the fans and the support from everyone, the lovely messages. So this next chapter, hopefully it’s not a dragon, hopefully it’s a gold coin.”

Calderon’s journey on-screen on Days of Our Lives began in October of 2024 and concluded this month. In one of his last appearances Javi was asking a favor from Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) before bumping into his ex, Leo (Greg Rikaart). In story, Javi has a new romance with Gus (Michael Ocampo), while fighting his feelings for Leo. The role of Javi will be played starting on June 30 by Jacob Martinez who takes over the role.
NBC decided to cancel the Brilliant Minds, after it split up the airing of its second season which began in the fall of September of 2025 and the back-half started airing after a long break this past May. Calderon joined the medical drama staring Zachary Quinto for the new season, which sadly was its last.

Ej and Sami should never be a couple. People he lie and manipulate and do other things should be a couple. There is no love there just people who hurt each other all the time. That isn’t love that is obsession.Ej is totally obsessed with Sami and can’t’ let her be happy. He was brought to town to make Sami’s life a living hell and he has done exactly that. He really needs to move on and find someone else. So sick of this stupid stuff. Sami does need to pay for what she did.
I know there are others out there that think just because Sami has kids with Ej they need to be together. but she has kids with Lucas to and there not a couple. Just because you have kids with a person don’t mean you have to be a couple. Ej only thinks of him self. Ej is a true Dimera evil person. just like his dad. They need to keep him that way. That is the only way I can tolerate to even seen him on Days.
Sami wouldn’t even have johnny if it wasn’t for the rape. Which then then tells me she would of never ended up with Sydney when Lucas went to jail for shooting Ej. Sami would of never married Ej if it was for the stupid vendette against the Brady’s. Sami was wanting to protect her family from the idiot dimera’s exspecially after John got hit by the car and died.
Sami deserves to be happy with the man she loves and wants a family with and that is Rafe!!!!!!!

I have watched a lot of soaps for a lot of years and few couples can compare with Ejami or even come close and they haven’t even officially been a couple yet. Imagine how good it would be if they were. Now that’s what I want to see, the reason I came back to days, and what I have been waiting for – Ejami. There is unlimited sl potential and off the charts chemistry with Sami and EJ.

Favorite Flawed Heroine: Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady)
Sami is not a heroine and never has been and never will be! I love her…but that’s like a joke to actual heroines…lol!!! Nah, Sami doesn’t belong there AT ALL!!! She’s done so much stuff and so much just nasty and horrible stuff, she’s my very ultimate favorite, and that’s like a disgrace and joke to Sami fans to even have her there. LOL!!! Girl, is no heroine at all! She’s definitely a “flawed” baddie way more than heroine! Heroine and Sami doesn’t even go in the same sentence. And that’s one thing that irritates Alison Sweeney and that she hates…she’s always said that she can’t stand and hates when people say to her or call Sami “good” just in general, because she said that’s not who Sami is and that’s not what she built Sami to be as the actress playing her, she said that she didn’t build Sami to be good in anyway like that at all, and that she can not stand to hear that about her character because she’s not good. And I love that she said that! Because Sami isn’t! She’s a twisted and flawed BADDIE!!

I agree and don’t understand why they keep trying to make us believe that Sami is a heroine and Rafe a hero it’s like trying to stick a square peg into a round hole it just doesn’t fit. How do you call someone who won awards for best villian a heroine? LOL!
I agree Sami is a grey character character (and it is rare on soaps) she is an “anti-heroine” like Jack Deveraux was an “anti-hero” they are baddies with deep down a good heart but certainly not “heroes” like soaps want to also have ..and IMO because of their ulti-dimensioned persona they are much more interesting and fascinating.
However if Sami has to mature a bit (i agree with that) give her a career, some girlfriends and above all show us ON SCREEN that she loves her kids, more Sami scenes with her children otherwise we can’t buy her speech about how she loves them..we have to see it ! Not hard TPTB listen for once.

Love the duo of Sami and Ej because of the outstanding acting abilities and chemistry of Allison Sweeney and James Scott. They are the reason I contune to watch this show after 27 years of viewing!
I came back to Days because of Crystal Chappell. Her amazing acting skills brought Days in a whole new light for me. Her with Peter are just yummy and absolutely amazing to watch. I love Peter and Crystal together and I think Bo and Carly are the best could Days has ever had!
Carly Manning (Crystal Chappell) is my Favorite Flawed Heroine. She’s quick witted and feisty and looks like Madonna did as a brunette! For these reasons, Carly’s my Fave! 🙂

Love Love Love Crystal Chappell. I started back watching DOOL because of her return. Seeing her and Peter Reckell together again has definitely ignited my CarBo love. After all those years apart, Bo & Carly still have such amazing chemistry. They are what I’ve always considered a “real” supercouple should be like.They compliment each other so perfectly. BTW I’m glad I’m not the only one that thought Crystal looked like Madonna especially during the whole Princess and the Pea fantasy. That’s when I first noticed it.

I voted for Carly. Now that’s a flawed heroine who does not look down on other people. Human.
My 2nd favorite heroine on that list would be Hope. Her holier than thou attitude ever since she first debuted, however, is what’s keeping her from being 1st on the list, for me.
-I agree, I don’t see Sami as a heroine at all. She’s a ‘badass” just like EJ; they’re mirror images of each other. The storylines of the spring, summer and fall 2010 have been really difficult to digest, but I haven’t given up hope on these 2. That must mean something, right?! So: EJami all the way!
-Also voted for Carly in the “heroine” department. I rather like her.

Judi Evans is my flawed fave heroine!! I, have been a fan of Judi`s since she first appeared on (GL), and DOOL quickly became my fave soap.
Of course that means that J&A are my absolute fave couple. They have such great chemistry and history together, I just hope the writers of Days, will realize this soon, and give them the airtime and storyline they sooooooooo deserve. Bringing on some of their kids would be great, too.

The reason I watched was because of the chemistry between Alison Sweeney and James Scott, unfortunately I have tuned out since Sami shot EJ, hopefully somehow they will fix the writing and I will be back. Until then I will watch Y & R…..

How is Hope even an option for “flawed” heroine? All of Salem thinks she’s little miss perfect and can do no wrong, no flaws. Even when she tries to kill her husband three times, it’s okay and not her fault.
Hope is to busy going around being selfrightious telling everyone how they should act who they should be with all the while she is mugginh men and trying to killher husband! Thats no flawed heroine to me. At least Carly admits her flaws and trys to understand and see things from their perspective before she sits and judges them.!!

Galen Gering & Ali Sweeney are the best duo on Days….they are the most romantic couple Days has had in years…beautiful, romantic, passionate and love their humor! They are so good together and their chemistry explodes on the screen….SAFE all the way!

It is the problem actually with them, they have no internal conflict, there is nothing “special” there is no humor no witty banter, Sami behaves totally out of character in this pairing. If they wanted a girl for a character like Rafe they could have bring back Carrie Brady but Sami is not the character we were many to love or love to hate with this new couple. And when you are a Sami fan first you can’t root for a cutie cooker couple like that, it is simple to understand.
Fortunately, I disagree….we are all entitled to our opinons. Sami & Rafe are opposites and that is why they work …. they complete one another …. with them there is pure chemistry and passion……. at one point Sami & EJ went well with the story, but her character is no longer that person…. she has the same rashness and illogical mindset, but she has endured much and the death of a child scars the soul….she has matured. Rafe understands her and loves her unconditionally. EJ may “love” her, but he had to lie and manipulate her to make her love him….she cared for the man she thought he was, not who he truly is….that’s not pure love. Sure, back when EJ & Sami were on the screen three years or so ago, their “love” scenes were intense….but Sami had never known what real love was…she was always searching for it. Now she has it with Rafe who loves her totally…..EJ needs a new love interest to expand his character….Sami weakens him…this was proven at the wedding scenes with her & EJ….he needs a partner who will work with him, either for good or ill……Sami can no longer do that…Rafe will always be in her heart now and there are too many deep scars between her & EJ to ever have a happy relationship……….sadly, EJ’s core is too twisted and corrupted by his father to change. EJ & Sami can’t go back to what it was back in the day…. Sami & Rafe have also been scared by all that has occured in the past year and a half….we may not like it, but that’s the story…..it’s a soap opera and you suffer through it…….I have watch Days since the first day it came on the air, and I can tell you there have been many disappointments, but good times too. They will tease you, anger you, then draw you back in……..I know, I’ve been doing it for 45 years! Enjoy!

Hello, Judy T. You’re right, everyone’s entitled to their opinions regarding who belongs with whom, which (non) couple has more chemistry and so on. Personally, I don’t feel Safe- AT ALL- never have and never will.
True, they are opposites and yes, Sami loves Rafe (at the moment) but that doesn’t mean they belong together or that they’re even soulmates. Rafe belongs in a long list of men that Sami idolizes and looks up to (eg Austin and Lucas). Due to her unstable childhood with her parents magically dropping in and out of her life, it’s only logical that she wants stability, safety and a “hero” who protects her. Rafe and her life with him represents all those things. EJ doesn’t fit that profile because (a) he’s a Dimera (ie “the enemy”) and (b) he’s done so many nasty things to her. And, as you’ve mentioned, their history has scarred them both. But Sami is NOT a damsel in distress and she gave as good as she got (if that’s the right expression. Please bear with me, English isn’t my mother tongue and not my second language either. But I digress…).
Sami has put all of these events that led up to the Sydnapping and EJ’s shooting in motion-if she hadn’t lied none of these things would have happend. Period. She has NOT “matured” as you put it: I still see the bad, selfish Sami willing to do anything to cover her own ass (including using her own son). She may attempt to justify her actions all she likes but what she did was WRONG. I understand her motivations for doing what she did BUT shooting a unconscious, heartbroken, drunk in the head is COLD. It was attempted murder for christ sake! And it’s just as bad as what EJ did to her regarding Sydney, probably even worse. In my opinion, EJ and Sami are equally crappy parents, putting their needs and feelings before their children’s. Eg: EJ using his kids as weapons against his ex and Sami constantly dumping them off at their great grand-mother to boink her bf. But, they do love them. Anyway, even if EJ is “evil” and even IF he wanted to take his kids from her (which is doubtful, since he was incapable of doing anything is his inebriated state) she still needs to take responsibility for what she did. That is what a “mature” person does-look at Hope, for instance, and she also has a young daughter depending on her. Also, I wonder how Rafe will react once he finds out that Arianna has proof of Sami’s guilt? And that’s what ultimately led up to her death. Her lies and concealment of that fact from him is yet another example of Safe’s not so “open and honest” relationship. Moreover, Sami has actually “corrupted” Rafe-she’s a negative influence on him and his life. Therefore, I really don’t see them as “the endgame”: it’s only a matter of time before Sami, the black widow, consumes him and moves on to her next victim.
What I like about the romantic potential between EJ and Sami is the fact that he’s a bad boy and she’s a bad girl. These two characters falling for each other is an ORIGINAL concept; whereas the bad girl falling for a good guy and vice versa has been done tenfold. DOOL also needs to modernize and drop these old-fashioned clichés of good vs evil. It’s far more entertaining to have well developed characters who are capable of both positive and nefarious deeds; NOT these cartoonish individuals that the audience can’t relate to. Everyone has good and bad in them. If they continue in this way, they might as well have them all wearing costumes….Hahaha! Moreover, if Safe is such a great couple than why don’t they have a story of their own, WITHOUT EJ having to prop them up at every twist and turn? Well, I know: because they really aren’t compatible and have no substance to them whatsoever. Remove EJ and what have you got? A whole lot of nothingness…
In conclusion, someone can’t manipulate or make someone else love him or her. I believe that she does love EJ, it’s just buried very deeply beneath all that righteous indignation. Or at least she did, back in 2008 and 2009 before the EJole wedding. Hell, Lucas kept mentioning it too and it wasn’t out of jealousy or spite: he had moved on with Chloe. And I might add that EJ wasn’t manipulating or lying to her at all when those scenes aired… There are various examples that I can cite to back that up. But, don’t worry, I won’t because, otherwise this comment will be even more tedious than it already is, for those like yourself that disagree with me. Also, I don’t believe Sami “weakens” EJ- he screws up a lot but he does profoundly, unconditionally and passionately love Sami, far more than Rafe does in my humble opinion. She’s his world, his universe-everything really. And Sami from her part, knows exactly who EJ is, she just needs to accept him wholeheartedly and completely, flaws and all-because she’s just the same. As for chemistry Ejami has it abundance (Safe, on the other hand, doesn’t-they’re a BORING, lifeless, and a run-of-the-mill couple): I discovered a music video of these 2 by accident and now here I am watching DOOL-something I never imagined myself doing, since I don’t waste my time with soap operas. They are UNIQUE and evocative-they generate buzz regardless whether one is a fan of this pairing or not. In a few years time, when this soap has run it’s course they will always be remembered, for the controversy surrounding this pairing alone. Can you honestly say the same for Safe? Nope!

I discovered Ejami in a similiar way too, and their wonderful chemistry captured me totally and now I find myself watching this soap daily because of these crazy two passionate compelling characters. I agree Sami does not weaken Ej at all, they are both passionate and temperamental so she can give as good as she gets. That is something I love seeing with these two, and the clever banter they share is so funny and entertaining. I love how Sami can keep pushing Ej until he is ready to blow up in fury and yet she still continues to push him not scared of his temper at all, but the funny thing is when she pushes him he actually calms down again. I love how she does that, it makes them more equal. Sami on the other hand spits out before she thinks sometimes, and certainly says some nasty things and gets out her claws from time to time. However, because Ej is self assured and demands respect he always keeps her in line and is able to handle her like no other man ever has. He brings out her confidence and passionate spunk like no other. I think that is what they need to look at when putting characters together, what are their strengths and weaknesses, their personality traits etc. Instead of just putting them together for sake of story plotting. When they do this it takes out all that romance we should feel and leaves us with a feeling distsatistfcation as a viewer. I like Sami as the anti-brady and Ej as the anti-hero perfectly flawed and so passionate and powerful. My favourite grey couple Ejami!!

My favorite Flawed heroine is Carly Manning shes honest real and doesnt go around pointing the finger at people and she has a true honest and protective love for her family. so glad they brought her back makes Dool worth watching again!!! and favorite Duo is Carly and Bo are the best couple on days. Crystal Chappell and Peter Reckell are just amazing together. Bo & Carly have a open hoest and mature love for one another they get each other they know they are not perfect and they admit it!! I have been wating for a long time for them to get the love story they deserve!!

For me it was, is and always will be Bo and Carly(Peter Reckell and Crystal Chappell). I stopped watching DAYS when she left and was stunned to hear she’d come back and now, I’m rooting for them to get all they were cheated of. Their bond is so deep , mature and spiritual and they make each other so very happy. They more than deserve a second chance ; a LONG TERM ONE!

I wish you had Ej and Nicole up there, Nicole cares way more for Sydney then Sami ever could. Sami is always dropping off her ‘daughter’ with Grouchy Gramma Caroline. That’s not mothering. Nicole had what it takes to be a Dimera wife. She over looked what Ej did, Sami just wanted to change him. Bring back Ejole and Sydole, and bring back the best evil power couple in daytrime. Nicole should definetly be Sydney’s mom and Ej’s wife, never, ever Sami. My thoughts, save the bashing for else where please. It will make anyone who trashes my thoughts look really bad.
Naaaa, I like Nicole, and don’t ever want to see her with EJ ever again! She shouldn’t have been there with him the first time either. And Sydney has nothing to do with her, I want Nicole so far out of that as a Nicole fan. I care about her character, and that is just all the wrong place and life for her. She needs to be able to move forward and move on, not always have to constantly go backwards to a life and people that are not meant for her and have nothing to do with her. EJ can’t stand her and hates her, he even hated and couldn’t stand her when they were together. Dude doesn’t like her at all. Just likes to use her, and if she offers and allows that, he’s going to do it. Then trash and dump her. A lot of Nicole fans don’t want her in that anymore ever again or at all! Neither her nor EJ deserves that. That was horrible and terrible for the both of them. Nicole definitely belongs with Brady or Eric Brady! That’s for her. And Nicole isn’t really evil, she’s just often very stupid at times, but not really evil and not a good fit or right fit at all with the DiMeras. When she was there it looked stupid and just so odd, because that’s just not Nicole or her history or persona at all. But definitely is Sami’s. Sami was always built up for and down right bad and evil a lot of times, the perfect DiMera and always belonged with that family. Nicole is more of the Kiriakis empire type and definitely the thorne in the Brady & Black family sides by being with either Eric Brady or Brady. Now, the DiMera part where Nicole fits in is through Brady as Brady. As Brady is actually Brady Black Kiriakis-DiMera. Brady’s mother is Victor’s daughter & Brady’s father is John Black, who is Santo DiMera & Colleen Brady’s son [from EJ & Sami’s past life together in Ireland.] Brady’s father John and Stefano have the same dad [Santo DiMera]. Stefano is Brady’s uncle. And EJ is Brady’s cousin and step-brother (through EJ’s marriage to Sami before.) So with Brady, Nicole gets both Kiriakis and DiMera as Brady is both. And with Eric Brady, who is the heir to the Brady family, Nicole gets that as well. (Much better than her being with EJ. EJ doesn’t like and can’t stand her. Nicole doesn’t need that in her life. Sami is a much better DiMera fit and wife for the the family and EJ. It’s not always about being evil, as that’s not EJ, its about just being you the character. And evil is not EJ or Nicole. Sami is more evil than the both of them and when you know her history and with the things she’s done recently…she definitely is! LOL!!!
And Sami has never wanted to change EJ, she makes EJ want to be a better man, a man loves that with their women. It’s not about change, she knows exactly who EJ is and what he does or can do and what he’s capable of, because she’s done it too and wrote the book for it all as well. And she told the audience herself that she’s very much aware of it and knows and even joked around with him about. Sami used to work for the DiMera’s. Sami was a DiMera. And was always with them and involved with them, even before EJ. She wants EJ to be EJ, not his father, she just wants EJ to be his own man, with his own family and life, not his father’s. Just like EJ wants Sami to just be Sami and just be a woman and mother, not live her life by other’s rules and regulations for her. Not live her hypocritical families life who constantly treated and did her wrong before, but to just be her.
It’s not about changing a man or just accepting them, deep down that’s not what EJ wants to be, he doesn’t want to be evil, and he doesn’t want to do those things, and he doesn’t want a woman to bow down to his every beck & call and just accept things. He wants his woman to tell him when he’s wrong and that he can do much better in life, and that he is his own man with his own family, and his father doesn’t have a say in any of that when its his life and his family. EJ wants and loves a challenge and loves and wants Sami. So, I don’t want Nicole anywhere around that anymore, that just isn’t for her. And I don’t want her just there to just accept and beck and call at EJ’s and Stefano’s every move and word. That’s so weak and pathetic. Anna doesn’t do that, Lexi doesn’t do that, and neither does Sami. Those are DiMera women.
Now, Nicole does that with her ex-husband Victor and the Kiriakis’ she doesn’t beck and call at his every word and command and Brady’s either. Much better fit for Nicole. Much better life for her. Brady and Eric truly love and care about her. EJ could care less! If Nicole drowned in the Salem river, got ran over, or died…EJ wouldn’t give two cents nor would he care at all. He would probably cheer over Nicole’s dead body and have a cheerleading squad come and hold a pep rally over her body to celebrate her death. That’s how EJ looks at Nikki and thinks of her…he doesn’t and doesn’t care. Nicole doesn’t need someone like that, EJ doesn’t need a woman like her, and neither one of them are good at all for the other. They bring out the absolute worst in each other and something neither one of them wants to be. Nicole wasn’t really happy there either, it was way too much pressure and all about Sami & EJ and their family, and all about Nikki trying to lie and cover up such a disgusting thing that she did. I don’t want Nicole going through life just obsessed with Sydney. Nicole doesn’t deserve that and that’s not fair to her or to Sydney. It’s none of Nicole’s business or place. Like it or not Sami’s her mother and Sami pushed her out and carried her and she does love her daughter. People just need to let Sami be with her family and stop trying to pin her up against every man in Salem. She has a family and people should just let her be and start her life with her family instead of this man this and this man that. And the same with Nikki…what kind of life is she going have there in the DiMera household. It would be completely horrible for her there. As opposed to the great life, love, and family that she could have with both Brady and Eric. Two men that actually love and care about her. It would be a disgrace and horrible for Nicole to go backwards like that, when she could have a great life, love, and family with Brady and Eric. What’s much better for her and meant for her.

And people should just leave her alone, and stop trying to pawn her off on EJ and the DiMeras. That poor woman would be miserable there. People need to just leave Nicole alone and let her move on with HER life. Nicole’s life is much better without them in it and with Brady and Eric in her life. I’m sorry but I have to disagree with you regarding EJole.
First of all, EJ was never in love with Nicole. He loved her, yes, but it was on a superficial and a conditional basis: he only married her because he thought she was the mother of his child. He even admitted as much on the plane when they were on the way to Paris. But once her deception came to light he dropped her like a hot potato and has hated her ever since. Moreover, Nicole was literally his rebound: he jumped into a relationship with her after Sami kept pushing him away. She was also a substitute: Nicole is very similar to Sami (which EJ has mentioned a number of times), and due to the fact that she was pregnant, it gave EJ a second chance at having that family that he craved so much.He was grateful to Nicole for giving him the stability and love (as Lexie perceptively pointed out to him at Grace’s grave)-something he couldn’t get with Sami. Simply put, he settled for her and his love for her was an extension of his love for Sydney. Once the illusion of “the happy family” crumbled, his affection for Nicole evaporated very rapidly. Sami, on the other hand, he never stopped loving her even when he “hated” her. Even now, when he knows that she put a bullet in his brain for christ sake, he STILL loves her. It may come off as a tad bit pathetic on his part, but that has always been the one constant in his life since his debut on DOOL. One can’t help who one loves.
Second, Nicole is no match for a powerhouse like EJ. Yes, she supported him, accepted him and stood by him BUT EJ needs someone who can challenge him, and allow him to become his “own man”-not Stefano’s clone. Nicole is NOT the woman who can do that. During the EJole era, EJ became more and more “evil” and was someone he didn’t want to be (as Sami pointed out to him in the park when they were discussing Johnny’s custody). EJ is a bad boy, true, but he also has good in him and unlike Sami, Nicole only brought out the worst in him. She was also pathetic, needy, clingy and weak when she was with EJ. EJ was very abusive towards Nicole (and still is): manhandling her, choking her, sending her to the hospital, etc…. In addition, the only time that EJ ever showed any real affection for her was when (a) Sami kept rejecting him & pushing him away (b) Sami was out of the picture, staying at the Safe house (no pun intended) (c) during her pregnancy and (d) when he was pissed off at Sami regarding the whole Grace debacle. What it all comes down to is this: he was really just reacting to Sami and her behaviour towards him. That, and as I have mentioned before, his desire for a loving home.The fact that he kept putting off the EJole “honeymoon” spoke volumes as well.
Third, like yourself and Tara, I rather like Nicole now-provided that she stays away from EJ. She deserves better than him: she deserves someone who can truly love her and appreciate her for who she is. Brady, Eric or someone new are far better options than EJ: Brady was always there for during her miscarriage and helped her out in her time of need. Right now, he’s a bit of an ass but she did hurt him. And as for Eric, according AZ herself he is the “love of Nicole’s life”.
To conclude, Nicole isn’t EJ’s “equal” and their history has proven that they aren’t compatible. Sami is a far superior match for him: she calls him out on his shit and almost everything he has done, she has done herself. They are truly mirror images of each other. The most recent scenes prove that. As for Sami not loving EJ-yes, she hates his guts right now and is “in love” with Rafe. But considering what he put her through it’s perfectly understandable. EJ always seems to be Sami’s second choice but that has a lot to do with her unstable upbringing, her need for a hero figure (which EJ obviously isn’t-quite the contrary in fact), her need to be accepted by her family and her desire to be “good”.
Sorry for the long post, but that is just how I feel about EJole. For the record, this isn’t intended to “bash” your opinion.
When you mean she calls him out, does shooting him in the head count? Cause the Sami I’ve seen the past 4 years is a former shell of herself, a weakling.
PS: I do agree with you on one point though: Nicole is a much better mother to Sydney than Sami is. However, Sydney IS Sami’s daughter and despite all her faults, Sami does love her. Sydney belongs with her mother and Nicole isn’t that-there’s no way she popped out a baby while switching Grace & Sydney. Perhaps her child is alive, but it sure as hell isn’t Sydney.
I agree with you a 100% on Nicole. Nicole does have everything to make the perfect Diemra wife. Her and Ej were perfect for one another. I loved it when it was Ej,Nicole with Sydney. Sami is hardly ever with Sydney. In the two years of her life. So I sure hope they are going to make Sydney Ej and Nicoles. I would love for somehow since Nicole was far enough along to have a premi and baker decided to keep the baby and tell her she misscarried. Ejole have what it takes to make it as a true family. I love the chemistry of EJAMI. I love that they are becoming a supercouple of all times just like Bo/Hope, JARLENA, Kim/Shane, Jen/Jack, Payla and others that I can’t recall at the moment. EJAMI are the supercouple of the future. Their chemistry is just amazing and each actor’s talents are just amazing!

I wanted to first let you know, and many others who have echoed your sentiments, a few things. We have changed the image of Ejami in the Favorite Duo because I want it to be clear that I hear you, and that if you think this is somehow indicating by the choice of image that On-Air On-Soaps is anti-Ejami or swaying the vote or showing this site is biased against Ejami, James Scott, etc, that can be taken out of the equation.
In addition, I want to point out to all Ejami fans, that I have brought you more James Scott interviews, and am happy to do so on this site than any other online property. I have also consistently and happily wanted to give you a great place to share with others your incredible well-thought out and passionate comments on all things EJami, you are truly a remarkable bunch!
That being said, I don’t think it would make any sense that I, or my site are anti-Ejami..James Scott or Alison Sweeney.
If you are meaning by “Spammed results” did someone find a way to beat/cheat the system’, I am sure a compentant hacker could do so, but is that what is really going on here? I thought it was odd that as vocal as Ejami fans are and how often they place posts on this site, they are not leading the duo right know, but could it be that perhaps, Danloe and Bo and Carly fans got their entire fanbases mobilized to vote, and that is the true vote? I am just putting that out there as one option.
We are looking into anything that could possibly technically be going on. But, we are going to continue to show the voting results throughout the process as that is the fun of it. And if we can’t all have fun with this, it really takes the purpose of why I created it away. I really wanted to celebrate the 45th Annniversay with you the soapers, and then in turn with the actors letting them know your thoughts through the vote come this weekend.

Just want to say thanks for doing these polls and for all your great interviews of the DOOL cast. Of all the interviews I’ve read I definately have enjoyed yours the most.
To AnnDee you may want to consider the current sl and frustration and disgust many, including Ejami fans, are feeling at this time especially with Sami. From the many comments I have read on many different boards I would bet that is a contributing factor in these poll results. And Carbo and Bope have huge followings and are currently in the midst of huge campaigns for their couples. So for the most part this poll makes perfect sense to me.
Hopefully Michael will share some of the comments as well as the poll results because despite everything they have done to them Ejami is still one of the most sought after couples.
Polls are definitely false here. I dont know anyone that I speak to that does not want Bo and Hope together. They are the number 1 super couple of all time. Carly and Bo have no chemistry and not nearly as much history as Bo and Hope…Bo even loved Billie more then he loved Carly… we havent even heard him mention her in the last 15 years. All those times when Billie was around you always heard him say things like she was the only other woman he loved in life besides hope. You never heard him say anything at all about Carly. And now Bope fans are slapped in the face with this Carly storyline. I will watch again when Bo and Hope arfe back together.

Now TPTB need to get a clue and give us a sexy, romantic Danloe s/l like when they started in 2008. So many of us were watching to see if Daniel would be the babydaddy and then tuned out after the paternity reveal with Melanie because it = Danloe is doomed, Darly is coming etc. Who wants to watch your favorite couple be destroyed? I came back to Days because I saw a Danloe scene in Dec 2008 and I won’t watch this show without Danloe. In scenes together, not constantly apart. Thanks again.
Bo & Carly are my favroite Hero & Heroine. Peter & Crystal are the reason I watch days. The way they portray their characters you can feel every emotion they are feeling and they don’t even need to speak to do it. Look at their eyes and their body language – that is true talent — these two set the screen on fire and I wish Days would keep them front and center where they belong!

Peopel!!! E.J. raped Sami and blackmailed her and threatened to kill her husband!!!! That makes them a romantic couple???!!! Does that also mean that Todd from OLTL should be a permanent love interest for Marty, the woman he helped to gang rape???!!!! Come on now!
EJ did not Rape Sami. He refused to help Lucas unless she had sex with him. Also remember Sami drugged Austin and had sex with him. Her husband Lucas actually put a bullet in EJ. Sami blackmailed Lexie to tell her own sister that if she had a baby the baby would be born with birth defects, she caused Phillip to lose his leg. She lied about Lucas causing him to lose custody of Will. Sami is every bit as evil as EJ and she was this way long before he came to town.
So in other words she deserved it.
She did not have to have sex with EJ, he just wasn’t going to save Lucas if she didn’t Sami would have had to take a chance that she could have found someone else in that horrible blizzard to save Lucas. Sami did one of her very few selfless acts, she loved Lucas so much that she was willing to sleep with a man she did not want to sleep with in order to save Lucas’ life. It was wrong of EJ to not be willing to save Lucas’s life without putting conditions on it, but no more wrong than lets say shooting an unconscious man in the head!!!
I’ve been watching DOOL since the very beginning and have loved so many of the storylines, but none more exciting than Bo and Hope. They are the “SUPERCOUPLE” of all time.
How is Sami considered a flawed heroine but Nicole isn’t? To me, they are the same character. Also, how come Eric Martsolf and Arianne Zucker aren’t an option for fave duo?? My vote will always go to EJami but it just doesn’t seem right not to have Bricole as an option. You might say Bricole are too new as a couple but wouldn’t that same logic apply to Magic as well?
I agree, how could Bricole not be on this list . Bricole should be an option (as well as Arianne Zucker), there are more people that like them together than some of the other couples on this list. Anyway, I like Bricole together but I love Ejami together so my vote goes to them.

Carly’s flaw is that she tends to play doctor more than just in the hospital. She carries her work home too. Carly sometimes does the wrong thing at times, but for the right reason! Her heart is in the right place.
Carbo on the other hand is pure magic. The honesty in their relationship is so refreshing to watch.
A strong and healthy relationship is founded on trust, honesty, attention and lots of sacrifices including putting aside our “individual good” for a “greater good” (beyond self).
This is Bo and Carly! Like CC said their love is so honest and pure.
Honest and pure..For the 5 minutes she was around in the past she left Bo for someone else.. Hope on the other hand has only done that when Bo screwed up with Billie. The writers have really screwed this up they shouldve killed off Hope again if they wanted Carly back in the picture with Bo. That is the only time Bo makes sense with anyone else is when Hope is “not alive”. We are all entitled to our opinion so I am not bashing yours but I will not watch with Bo and Hope not toghether.

Like 748 votes for Chloe are believable? Chloe the Ghoul girl now WAS a flawed heroine but the Chloe we have been seeing for a long while now is more of a vixen. And that is not an insult imo. I love Chloe as I love almost all the DOOL characters and my opinion on that list I believe comes from a fair POV. and I think Carly is more fitting to that title i.e. flawed heroine. And Hope definitely is way more fitting than Chloe.
I definitely agree with everyone who has said Sami is not a heroine. lol She never was and she never can be at this point. And I like it that way. Scheming Sami works.

I LOVE Danloe and Nadia/Shawn. Hope they win all their categories. No one brings passion to the Days screen like they do and as a couple, they ONLY love each other…very rare indeed.
