I tried. I do enjoy him on GH… I hope he brings younger eyes to GH to boost ratings and keep GH entertaining and relevant…
Brian…I also want to get younger eyes to GH, but I think the Spencer , Esme, etc storyline is a very bad example to put in front of anyone’s eyes. Personally I’m sick of Spencer as his fragile ego.
I agree what Esme did is horrible but it does reflect a sad reality.
I didn’t enjoy OLTL’s Billy Douglas being teased for being gay in the 1990’s or even GH’s Luke and Laura rape… but soaps do bring issues of the day to light.. AMC’s Erica’s abortion… and many many more stories.
Brian…You are so right. But I don’t think Luke and Laura would get swept under the GH rug as easily today. And what Esme and Spencer did was criminal. And now to Trina/Josh/Cam, it seems to be an extension of the stuff that’s hurting all ages on some social media. What I want to escape on my daytime soaps. The only positive thing I see is the tight friendship of the three teens and the support of Trina’s family. What always bothers me, even in real life, is no consistency in how judges rule. Maybe I will have to hold my nose and fast forward it.
I don’t have access to this channel, but agree that Nicholas Chavez has become a very interesting actor on GH, with range, charm, and sex appeal. Nice that he’s trying comedy as well. I just wish Spencer would snap out of this Esme spell he’s under. He treated Trina appallingly at the police station after her arrest. Unforgivable!
Soaphound
I really hated him that day with Trina. I wanted to reach into the TV and smack him silly. Also, as much as so many people hate Sonny, I really don’t see him harming this young girl. Carly might smack her around a little or do whatever it takes, she doesn’t have any boundaries, to get results.
Tubi is a free download and 100% free access thru google play store. Not an Apple guy so do not know if same for iphone.
If you have any sort of streaming platform, you have access to Tubi. Android… Roku… Samsung TV…. even that crappy “Flex” box that Scumcast cable sent out to all their customers. Or you could just stream it in your web browser, for that matter. Tubi’s free…. but be warned… their ads can be obnoxious. (there are ways around that for the technically inclined)
Thanks to Brian and Satan. I’ll try it.
I think Chavez is on his way up, up to the stars—-not only can he act, but also, his facial expressions speak volumes. Spense is another story—I am hot and cold…..not sure yet…
Do you think that both he and Nikolas are on to Esme? I mean, keeping her under close watch could be a plan. Perhaps, they’re waiting for her to trip and fall. It’s hard to believe Nikolas is falling for all her guiles…..He’s just too much of a fox for that—then again, he wouldn’t be the first man to succumb to a Succubus-type female… next stop, she’ll follow him into bed.
Oh Celia how I wish Nikolas was that smart but alas…He’s being suckered just like Spencer. Even Trina can figure out that Esme is STILL out to break up Ava & Nikolas. Typical soap male (mostly) behavior. Unfortunately.
Thanks to Brian and Satan, I was able to take a look at Nicholas’ scenes as a high school troglodyte on the make. There’s a scene where he gives a reluctant girl a really wet, sloppy kiss and I suddenly had to turn on my ceiling fan… Not a great movie but I’m glad he’s getting different types of roles. As far as Spencer goes, I’m totally p.o.’d with his Esme obsession. He’s gonna fall BIG TIME when she’s exposed and he can’t say he wasn’t warned.
Good for him. He’s an excellent actor, albeit his character’s fluctuation between good and evil is starting to get old—-I think he needs psychological therapy and hanging with Esme does not do him well…..There’s much to be said about Nikolas, at this point, as well—-what’s he up to? Is he that dumb not to ‘get’ Esme? A worldly man such as he?
And, speaking of Esme, is she Harmony’s daughter? Was she involved with Ryan in another life?
I had said that Willow and Nelle were possibly twins, way back when—So…..
Well, Celia, now we know your suspicions were correct. Nina had twins, one of whom was stolen by Harmony and whoever — just like Cassie & Mariah were separated at birth over in Genoa City. Dear, dear, what is that hateful, spiteful, spoiled brat with lousy hairdos known as Michael gonna do now? As long as Willow stays away from Chase… She missed that beautiful boat BIG TIME!
Hello, Soaphound–
Willow, as Nina’s daughter was the last guess for me. I went through Kiki ( and I was certain about her)___then, I went through the Sasha phase—-that didn’t pan out. I’ve suspected Willow for a while—only because there has always been so much tension between her and Nina. Also, Nina seemed to have an inexplicable pull towards Willow.
At one point, wnen I heard rumors that Lanier was returning, I thought that it would be Nelle’s identical “good” twin—-
Now we know Nina had fraternal twins—one was given up for adoption ( Nelle), and the other to Harmony ( Willow).
I echo your description of puppy-eyed, Michael. He sooo turns me off!! And, at this point?….so does Willow, who seems to be in a perpetual state of misery.
So, yeah—-what’s Lil’ Mikey gonna do now? Nina is the mother-in-law from hell. Hope his royal hands burn ( forgive me,Lord!!).
PS—Soaohound—I can’t even go there with Chase. Such a disappointment how he’s being volleyed hither and yon. How dare “they”—-that face! ..that body!….that everything!….
Inasmuch as I love Brook-Lynn, I can’t see him with her.—I was all in for him and Willow—but, that was then, this is now—she is a completely different person. I do not like her as Princess Willow.
Aside—I hope Esme does not get away with what she did to Trina, Cam and Joss—however, considering there was no punishment for arson, the writers may pull a fast one.
—-now Esme is working Nikolas. What was that word your Scottish grandmother uses? Gee, sounds a lot like mine… LOL. Yeah, yeah—-that’s the word—seems to have slipped my mind.

‘General Hospital’s’ Finola Hughes Delivers the ‘Power Performance of the Week’

There was never any doubt that in watching the riveting and emotional scenes on General Hospital which featured Finola Hughes as a PTSD-driven and mentally tortured Anna Devane, that when the climatic moments in Anna’s story aired, that we would not be singing the praises of Hughes. Once again, Finola showcased why she is one of the soap opera genres greatest assets and actresses.
In the key scenes, Anna has had a complete breakdown as she has lured and cornered Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) on Mount Emerson, and even thought through how she would kill her and cover it up, all thanks to hearing the voice and seeing a dead man, Peter August (Wes Ramsey). It’s visions of Peter that keeps egging Anna on to pull the trigger on Britt while in her delusional state.
Before Britt realizes that Anna trapped her in meeting her in Mount Emerson, she is very confused as to why she was all the way out in the boondocks to talk about what happened to her brother, Cassius Faison. However, Britt soon learned that what Anna was about to do is personal, and not professional, as she pulls the gun on her.

ANNA FIRES HER GUN IN GAME-CHANGING MOMENT
When Jason (Steve Burton) shows up to save the say, he tries to talk Anna off the ledge, begging her to not shoot Britt and make one of the greatest mistakes of his life. When Jason figured out Anna felt she needed to kill anyone related to Cesar Faison, he made her think twice, because that would mean, she also would need to end the lives of two of Maxie’s children, James and Bailey Lu.
Anna can’t stop seeing hallucinations of Peter pushing her to shoot Britt. Suddenly and completely overcome, Anna fires bullets straight in the direction of where she sees Peter as she declares this all must end tonight.
After the shots are fired, Anna realized what she had done and just sobbed and shook. It was a devastating and heartbreaking moment for longtime General Hospital fans to see the beloved Anna Devane, super spy, so lost. Anna explained to Jason, after he was able to disarm her, how she was being pushed to kill Britt by her visions of Peter.
EMMY-WORTHY SCENES FOR 2027
In another hankie-inducing moment, Anna just grabs Jason and breaks down in his arms. If these weren’t Emmy-worthy scenes, we don’t know what is, and it must be remembered by Hughes, General Hospital, and hopefully the voting body of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) when Emmy submissions and voting get underway in 2027 for the 54th annual Daytime Emmys.
From everything we noted above, to the sheer brilliance of her work, Michael Fairman TV names Finola Hughes, this week’s Power Performance of the Week.
Now let us know, do you agree with our pick of Finola? Were you moved to tears during the gut-wrenching scenes? Should Finola include these scenes in an Emmy submission in 2027, should she decide to compete for Lead Actress gold? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

But as viewers know now, Steffy is pregnant!

Kelly Sullivan Gives High Praise to ‘General Hospital’s’ Maura West Recalling When Ava Shot Connie (Exclusive)

It was just over 13 years ago on General Hospital when Ava Jerome (Maura West) shot and killed Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri (Kelly Sullivan) in an effort to keep her quiet from revealing that Derek Wells was actually Ava’s back-from-the-dead brother, Julian Jerome (William deVry). It’s a crime that somehow Ava never has quite paid for either.
The episode back aired on August 13, 2013 and viewers had to say goodbye to Kelly Sullivan who played Kate and her alter, Connie. In the story, just before she died, Kate/Connie scrawled the letters AJ in her own blood, initially making the PCPD and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) think that it was AJ Quatermaine (Sean Kanan) who did the deed.
Now, Sullivan recalled sharing scenes with the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning West, during a live conversation on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel. Kelly was the special guest talking about her recent return to the soaps in her new role as The Bold and the Beautiful’s Darcy Dylan.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF MAURA WEST
Speaking of her final GH scenes and working with Maura West, Sullivan gave her then GH co-star major props. “If you’re going to be shot by somebody (on the soaps), you want to be shot by Maura West, c’mon!”
Maura West debuted back in May 2013 as Ava, and Sullivan remembered when the As the World Turns favorite began on GH. “I remember when Maura West first arrived at GH. She walked in with this cute little bob (hairdo) and she’s just delicious,” shared Sullivan.
A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE
Kelly revealed more about Maura, adding “I think she’s amazing! I remember right before I left the show, someone suggested, and I would still love to do this with her, if she ever want to, but someone suggested that they wanted to direct the stage play A Streetcar Named Desire with Maura and I, where I would play Stella and she would play Blanche! Wouldn’t that be great?”
Speaking of the Ava/Connie showdown scenes, Sullivan expressed, “On television and on General Hospital specifically, Maura West is able to play a character who does the most horrendous things and you still care about her and that’s the mark of a really great actor. In other words, you’re able to be liked in the midst of the most horrendous things, and as a performer not shying away from that, and to just have the courage to do what’s on the page (in the script).”

KELLY SULLIVAN PARTING THOUGHTS AS SHE LEFT GENERAL HOSPITAL
Kelly also shared her sentiments when she walked off the set of General Hospital after her run back in August of 2013. “I really was honored. Every day I would go to work and I would say a little prayer, which is I want to do justice for my character, explained Kelly. “It’s between me and my character. I get to walk this path with her and to leave the show on that note, which is, I left every out there. I just gave it my all and again what an honor it was to play Kate/Connie.”
You can catch the full conversation with Kelly where she talks about her time on General Hospital, The Young and the Restless where she played Sage Warner and now The Bold and the Beautiful below.
So, do you remember the Ava and Connie scenes where Ava shot and killed her? What did you think of Kelly Sullivan’s sentiments about Maura West? Share your thoughts via the comment section. But first, watch the reveal where Ava recalls murdering Connie below!
