I’d vote for;

Lisa LoCicero (Olivia) … !!

Lisa LoCicero for the win! 5 great performances but that Olivia and Ned scene was an absolute classic – Lisa’s comedy AND drama skills made it so. For that, she deserves the statuette.

I agree. Viewers think drama deserves more accolades. But, being a really good comic actor is much harder. She has no audience responding to her, unlike Lucille Ball’s live audiences when she taped I LOVE LUCY. She has only her instincts & the director to tell her if what she is doing works. That’s where Wally Kurth really helps because his timing is just as good as hers. Honestly, I’ll be happy if either Finola or Lisa win. They make any GH scene they are in instantly better. And, the fact that Olivia can steal a scene from Franco and Nina shows that LL has acting chops that most people have not suspected until now.

Agreed. I have read a lot of comments saying Olivia serves no purpose and should be dropped but I think Frank Valentini was very smart to keep LL around. Very strong and well rounded actress – and as you mention, LL (along with Finola and certain others) elevates every scene of material she is given.

Can that baby be Sony’s him an Olivia did have a night together even though the didn’t get back together she did get back with him she was acting reared.

Lisa for the win! She’s always terrific.

Finola

I think Lisa LoCicero should get it!

One of the reels stands out way above the others (all of which are solid performances) – LISA LoCICERO is the clear winner in this category! (: Comedic with pathos – extremely touching. There ain’t no justice if Lisa Lo is not the winner on Emmy night! (: I expect her to be the winner! (:

What also stands out, IMHO, is that GH has a crack writing staff who realized a scene about Olivia drunk dialing the ASPCA fit into into soap opera. What other soap – daytime or nighttime – would do that? Viewers LOVED it! It was human, relatable, true to her character, and fit the actress’ talents *perfectly.*

FINOLA HUGHES ALL THE WAY !!!

Finola Hughes–she is cooler than the other side of the pillow.
Lisa was too over-the-top with all those LSD induced hallucinations.

They were all great reels with phenomenal performances by very talented ladies. Of all of them Finola is my favorite actress. So I must go with my favorite… Finola!!!

You better hope it is one of the gals from GH or Nancy Grahn will get on Twitter and make a complete fuss like she did last year.

IIRC, GH didn’t receive very many nomination last year. That is why Grahn made a fuss. She didn’t bad mouth any winners because GH wasn’t in any categories (except Jason Thompson for Best Actor, I think).

A dead heat for me between Hughes and LoCicero!

Finola Hughes is a genius.

It wont let me play it

I will say I truly would love it if the adorable and courageous Lindsey got this! Get well soon B&B is not the same without you!

Lisa chose the perfects scenes and I love Finola as well. All of the actresses in this category are stellar! I thing that drives me nuts in almost all of GH’s submitted reels in all categories: they’re all about Sonny!!! Enough already!

Thanx for posting these reels!

Finola or Lisa, both great, but I think Ian Buchanan was so overlooked in the acting categories, he was riveting in that scene with finola, what a mistake that he’s being let go, RC &FV are making a huge mistake there. They continue to be 50/50 with their work they either deliver or completely screw themselves over by making these little and big mistakes. As a viewer it’s so frustrating taking these high and lows to often.

Is Isn definitely out? Hope not…

I certainly hope they kill off Kiki.
No wonder KA left. This storyline is horrible and the actress playing Kiki is always smirking like the mean girl who dumped a pail of pig’s blood on Carrie White at the prom.

The problem is that they have too many mob-related leads and not enough stories to go around. It’s a wealth of riches in that respect. But, eventually, something’s gotta give. I can tell that FV & RC want to move the Q’s back to the center of GH. To that end, they are focusing more on the Cassadine’s, ELQ, & corporate intrigue. But, if they really want to do that, they need to make the mob much smaller & eliminate a lot of the mob-related characters, like Duke, Carlos, & Sean. I keep hoping a huge gunfight will result in some PERMANENT casualties. Jake/Jason will eventually be a Q. I’m hoping Jordan ends up on the PCPD or WSB, & that Sloane is also killed eventually. Add Kiki & Morgan to the casualty list, and GH will have a nice, streamlined cast with plenty of talented actors still around.

Lisa is the winner for me! Runner-up is Elizabeth Hendrickson imo

I pick Finola Hughes

Lindsey Godfrey or Elizabeth Henderickson

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”

Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.

Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.

Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.

The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.

As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL

Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)

According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”

Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.

Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.

In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.

Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
