Who Should Have Custody of Sam McCall’s Children on General Hospital?
Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) death is about to set up explosive and life-changing developments for several of her family members, exes and close friends. Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) just found her daughter’s last will and testament that was drawn up over two years ago. At that time, Sam named Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) as the person who s she wants to raise her children, Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and Scout (Cosette Abinante), should she meet her demise.
Drew is now a very controversial choice given his “affair” with Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), his political aspirations, and problems with his brother, Jason (Steve Burton). Previously, Alexis had said to Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) that they are at some point going to have to discuss custody of Sam’s children, and she thinks they should live with her.
That declaration upset Dante, who wants to keep Sam and his blended family together that includes: his son, Rocco (Finn Carr), and Sam’s children, Danny and Scout. The three kids have bonded as brothers and sister and have voiced they would love to stay together.

Meanwhile, there is Jason. Since returning to Port Charles earlier this year, he has been become very close with his son, Danny. Previously, Danny mentioned if it would be OK to live with him, and Jason said they would need to discuss it.
While we could see Scout living at the Q’s and Drew trying to be a good dad to her (while going in and out of her life due to his political office and obligations), Danny is another story. Drew would like nothing more than to stick it to Jason after the brawl that ensued after Jason learned Drew’s penchant for Michael’s (Chad Duell) wife. Would he weaponize getting custody of Danny against Jason? Would Drew even want to raise both kids?

Photo: ABC
Sam never felt comfortable with Jason’s lifestyle which she did not want to impose on their son, Danny. Jason knows she would not love the idea of him raising their son, but Danny feels otherwise. Meanwhile, Alexis is go grief-stricken she may use any legal means possible to have a part of Sam with her for as long as she can, and would want Scout and Danny to live with her.

As for Dante, now that he is soon to find out that Lulu (Alexa Havins) is out of her coma, will that change his trajectory? Will he realize he has to do what’s right for Rocco and Lulu? Is Lulu capable of raising their son at this point in time? Stay tuned.
So, who do you think should have custody of Scout and Danny? Let us know your pick (s) and why via the comment section, and you can cast your votes in our poll below.
Alexis should have custody.
That was my first answer.
I think to me in My opinion that Both Alexis Davis and Jason Morgan and Dante Falconeri Should have full Custody of Danny Morgan and Scout Quartermaine.
Yes i agree
I agree
I agree, Drew who I do know he adores his daughter..Is not capable of uniting as Jason and Dante…Know this new version of Drew Sucks Drew..Who seems to be a totally different person..One Samantha would not like..Since Dantes Mom is married to Jason’s cousin and this has always been Jason’s Family home..They all belong together…
WHY?
Danta
Jason hands down
Jason is willing to change occupation for Danny let him raise his own son like Jason said Danny is old enough to choose for himself and Scout as for Rocco he has a Mom and Dad with needs a lot of care, praying everyone do the right thing for the kids..
Scout is Drew’s daughter, so he should have custody. Danny is Jason’s, so there is no way in hell that Drew’ should have him. Because of Jason’s line of work, Danny should be placed with Alexis. Dante will be busy rescuing Lulu from Cyrus.
Dante
Dante
Nope
It’s very obvious that Sam’s will was written at a time when Jason was presumed to be “dead” and so in that context, he obviously would not have been an option to raise Danny.
Sam more than likely wrote a revised will since Jason returned. Alexis wouldn’t know about that because she didn’t have her law license at the time, so Sam would have had to look elsewhere for legal help. Molly works for the DA’s office, so she wouldn’t have been helpful either. So of course, Sam would have gone to Diane to file the “new” will.
Diane has been pretty much AWOL since Robert left town. Not that anyone could blame her if she needed to take a break after that. But I’m guessing she will eventually show up, with Sam’s “new and improved” will in her hands. At that point the question will be whether or not Alexis tries to convince Diane to supress this “new” will.
Dante
There’s not a snowball’s chance in my back yard that Dante would get legal custody of two kids who aren’t his. But he’d be a better option than Hallmark Drew, given everything he’s done since he got shanked in prison.
When Diane an Alexis was in the there office Diane had on her desk the Will for Sam’s an didn’t let Alexis see that so that has to be revised will for Sam an Alexis an Drew didn’t even know an that is going to hit the fan of what Sam wanted an Drew an Alexis will be out of luck ! An Diane was told by Jason that Sam was gone! So Diane probably had the will out before Alexis came in at the office that day!
Alexis, for stability temporarily with frequent Q overnights. Keep the kids together!!!
Jason and Drew can have separate overnight weekend visitation, but the kids need a stable life.
Jason is in too dangerous of a life for full-time custody.
Drew is heading to Washington to represent Port Charles so will be MIA frequently.
And Dante is obviously going to have the Lulu rollercoaster, so hopefully Rocco can hang at Alexis’s or the kids can all have movie night at the Qs.
And Alexis could benefit greatly from having her grandkids with her as they all mourn Sam.
Very best response – thank you.
Too many posters are choosing their favorites/who they like (Jason & Dante).
i feel that dante should have custody he is the most stable person im hoping that lulu will reunite with dante and they can raise all the children together mybe charlotte can joined them then they will be a happy family.
How would you feel if it was you I think the kids should be included in the decision they are very good and well manner
I agree they all want to stay together.
Wouldn’t be fair to the kids why did Dante wait so long to ask Sam to marry him men move in with women first and then ask them to marry them later which it should be the other way
I agree
Alexis should have custody. She’s a blood relation to both Danny and Scout. She’s got a stable home, stable job, stable life. And also both kids can stay together rather than separating the siblings, which would be traumatic to both. The blended family with Sam and Dante was cute and it worked, but Dante is not a blood relation. He needs to focus on his own son Rocco and his own family. Jason should not be in charge of any kids whatsoever with the life he leads. Drew, hopefully he takes a one way trip to Washington DC and never comes back.
What choices grandma is a disbarred lawyer with alcohol issues and was in the slammer
A mobster with traumatic brain issues
A politician who can’t keep his pants or shirt on Cameron
Definitely Dante who has been “dad” to these three kids for years. That way they can all stay together and their real dads can visit whenever they wish.
Amen couldn’t agree more
Drew is very busy sleeping with a mother-daughter right now. And he’s about to go to D.C. to find more people to sleep with or pay hush money to. Let the kids primarily live with Alexis. They can alternate weekends staying at the Q’s where their fathers can visit them.
Ideally its Dante, but no court is gonna grant him custody of two kids with two different parents, Drew or Jason won’t let the other raise their kids and therefor Alexis whose biologically related by blood to both children is the more reasonable choice especially if its to keep them together.then theoretically since their all privilege and have money, all living at the Quatermaine is do able, heck Jason could move to some made up apartment in the property above the garage haha and kick out Joselyn and Trina or Michael could give up the cottage, haha again these people have options that could benefit the kids but I see a lot of feuding in their future,
Agreed they should Joss & Trina out (and have Gio go back to Bensonhurst). Michael’s probably moving up to the main house leaving Willow in the gatehouse with the kids.
Diane has the updated will. Any lawyer would have marked the old will as null and void in their files when the new will was executed. Why is Diane “MIA”?
Alexis. Dante
Everyone should take care of their own kid. It’s not like they couldn’t see each other. Alexis is an alcoholic and almost killed Danny once. Just sayin…..
The fathers should have custody of the kids cause of Alex past she not stable and Donte is not up to raisen them either so let the father do it
I think Lulu knot Cyrus is bad news as she kept eyes closed when he was in the room
A fall on the floor should be reported . Laura and Dante need to show up there !
Alexis should stay out of it all together she a busybody and was not Sam’s attorney.
Didn’t they Sam’s will sitting on Diane’s desk? Why isn’t she coming forward with it? Surely Sam updated it and wouldn’t the biological fathers have rights?
Love Jason Thompson bk as Patrick Drake on gh it’s time for him bk w Kimberly McCullough as Robin bk together, Bring Nathan bk to gh love him bk w Maxie Jason should raise Danny & Scout.
Here’s an idea. How about Lucas as guardian?
This may be the perfect opportunity for Michael to get payback at Drew for sleeping with his wife, If Drew attempts to get custody of Danny, Michael could intervene and pay a corrupted judge to give Jason full custody of Danny, and to give Alexis and Dante visitation rights.
You make a good point. I can see Michael doing that. Nothing Michael does surprises me.
I think everyone but Drew should have joint custody
I think that Danny should live with Jason
I think Jason should have Danny live with him.
I’m not sure having the whole family living at the quatermains is a great idea.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Bradford Anderson and Steve Burton for making my aunt so happy last night. They gave quite a show at the Smithtown theater on Long Island. My aunt said they were amazing. They also took a picture together, which I know my aunt will treasure forever—❤️
Loved today’s scenes with the kids and the dads. Nice to see some happiness for a change. Could not believe Jason saying he was moving in also. Can’t wait to see the “Q” reactions to this news, especially Tracy.
I feel the same way.
Dante
I think Dante should stay with the children he is a better fit Nathan that all of them.
They should all live together at the Q mansion!! What fun storylines could come out of that
I think keep them all 3 together with Dante with them seeing their real fathers for visits this is what all the children want
Alexis should have custody
They all should move into the Quartermain house.
Dante
Dante or Alexis
Dante and Jason should move into Q mansion with the kids. Keep the 3 kids together. Drew doesn’t deserve to raise Scout. P.S. what the heck is going on at GH? Everyone is leaving?
Sam should have custody of her children. She shouldn’t have been fired in the first place.
I believe that Dante should keep the children he has been raising them for years with Sam why change things just because she is gone they are a family

Maurice Benard Gives High Praise to ‘General Hospital’ Writers; Teases Upcoming Sonny Scenes with Anna, Jason, Justine and Ric

With the highly-anticipated returns of Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) on this week’s June 24 episode of General Hospital, Steve Burton’s (Jason Morgan) upcoming return on July 13, which also serves as the ABC daytime drama’s 16,000 episode, things are about to fire on all cylinders in the story, as noted today by series star, Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos).
On Father’s Day, the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning actor and mental health activist took to his Instagram and expressed in a video that he has some unbelievable upcoming senes with the aforementioned Burton and Hughes. Add to that Nazneen Contractor (Justine Turner) and Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing), where Benard gave credit where credit is due to the GH writing team, which is led by co-head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten..
In this video, Benard said, “I just want to get on here and say that I did some work with Steve Burton, Finola Hughes, Rick Hearst, Nazneen Contractor, and they’re all just fantastic. Truly fantastic. But, I want to say the writing was just exceptional. It truly was. It was exceptional. So, thankful for that kind of writing. I know writers don’t get the credit a lot, but I just want to say to the General Hospital writing team, keep rolling!”
GENERAL HOSPITAL PREVIEW
So now the question becomes, with a major tease like that, what is about to go down between Sonny, Anna, Jason, Justine and Ric? Will we finally get to the end of the line for Sidwell (Carlo Rota), as previously teased by the GH co-head writers? Will we learn what happened to Jason and Anna, fully? Will Justine and Sonny becomes closer or stop their liaisons? And what of Ric? Will he be true blue to his brother or double-cross him? There is a lot at stake as we move further into the summer and one that looks like it could be one of the more exciting ones in years!
FINOLA HUGHES CONFIRMED AMAZING SCENES WITH MAURICE BENARD
As a punctuation point to his video, Benard also shared this written message in the post: “I just did some wonderful scenes with Steve Burton, Rick Hearst, Finola Hughes and Nazneen Contractor and and unbelievable writing, freaking amazing scenes that you will see in the near future on General Hospital.” In fact, Finola Hughes jumped in the post comment thread and responded, “I loved our scenes so much xxx”
Fans will most likely see all the scenes Benard referred to later in July, since GH tapes approximately six weeks ahead of air.
So, are you excited to see what Maurice is talking about? Are you hyped for what’s to come on GH? Any clue on what you think will go down between the main characters on the soap with the returns of Anna Devane and Jason Morgan to the mix? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

SINCE LEAVING GENERAL HOSPITAL
Previously, since his departure from the ABC soap opera. Chad starred alongside Zach Mendez in the world premiere of of Yum Yum at Annapolis, a new play written by Bruce Reisman. Duell last appeared on General Hospital on the January 21, 2025 episode.
The part was recast with Rory Gibson who debuted as the new Michael in May of 2025 during the Nurses’ Ball episodes and who has remained in the role since that time.
In an interview earlier this year on The Able Show, Duell said on his decision to exit the soap opera, “I was blessed to be part of that (show) for as long as I have, but what happens sometimes is if you’re doing the same thing, especially in a creative field for such a long time, you can get a little burnt out in a way. It can make you a little depressed, so that’s kind of what happened. On top of that, I had other things going on in my life at the time. My father passed away recently and I just needed a reset. So, I stepped away. A lot of times you have to go through some stuff to really step into that next level. I needed to kind of feel uncomfortable.”
So, what type of musical genre will Chad’s new song be? Country? Pop? Rock? Dance/Club? Something else? Let us know your thoughts via the comment section below, and if you are eager to hear the new single next week via the comment section below.

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Reflects on Dante’s Guilt for the ‘Atrocity’ That Happened to Michael Which Kept Everyone From Telling Him the Truth About Rocco (Exclusive)

On recent episodes of General Hospital, acting PCPD commissioner, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was the last to know when his ex-wife Lulu (Alexa Havins), his cop/friend “Nathan,” (Ryan Paevey) and his son, Rocco (Finn Carr) kept him in the dark from learning that Rocco actually shot WSB director, Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). That, set off a chain of events leading to Rocco joining Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and going on the run from Port Charles.
However, what led to everyone being so secretive and keeping the truth from Dante stems, in part, to what happened back in 2010. In story, Michael Corinthos (then played by Chad Duell) was brutally assaulted and rape by his prison inmate, Carter (Josh Wingate). Michael went to prison when his brother, Dante, then a PCPD detective, forced Michael to testify in court about killing his stepmother, Claudia Zacchara (Sarah Brown). That testimony resulted in Michael being sentenced to prison for manslaughter.
In early 2011, Michael admitted out loud to Jason (Steve Burton) for the first time that he was raped. The guilt of that situation has plagued Dante for years, and fast-forward 16 years later, it’s still very much alive in Dante’s character life as explained by Dominic Zamprogna in his recent interview on the Michael Fairman Channel.

Courtesy/ABC
RORY GIBSON RECAST WAS PERFECT TIME TO BRING BACK THE STORY POINT
Zamprogna spoke of Dante’s son current plight, and how it dovetails into the past for the acting police commissioner. “The situation with Rocco is just this awful scenario that this kid is in and wanting to try and do the best for him. The other thing I liked too was from the other people’s perspectives of Dante in the past, he kind of did right by the law, not by the people, or put too much faith in the law, and expected it to work out for the people he loved, and it didn’t. So, it gave them a reason for keeping things from him as well.”
The five-time Daytime Emmy nominee shared it’s important to remember things in the history of the character you play. When GH decided to recast the role of Michael Corinthos with Rory Gibson on-screen in May of 2025, it was the perfect time to remind viewers of what happened all those years ago.
“The idea that when you’re on a show this long, I do think about those elements because there’s so much story. The scenes that I think of immediately with the Michael situation was with Chad gone, and then Rory came in. They (the writers) chose that moment to kind of literally say in the dialogue when we were at the Quartermaines, ‘You’ve changed since you came back from Europe, and you’re a different guy and you’re darker.’ I think I said all these things. Frank Valentini (executive producer, GH) calls (Rory’s version) ‘Dark Michael.’ It’s true.”

DANTE’S GUILT OVER MICHAEL’S BRUTAL PRISON ASSAULT LINGERS
“That was the first time my character brought that up in what had happened to Michael so long ago. I’d love to play those beats more often. You can’t beat that to death, because it was 16 years ago, but you also can’t act like it never happened. Sometimes in the world that we live in, the soap world, you do act like things don’t happen because how could people carry on with that kind of guilt, you know? Every time I looked at Michael, Dante would feel responsible for the atrocity that happened to him. So, there’s a balance. You can’t think about it every time, but you definitely have to acknowledge it. This was the perfect time to acknowledge it with the character of Michael because of the recast.”
Now over the last several months, Dante was kept from the truth all stemming back to that moment. Zamprogna recalled, “It was the first kind of domino that fell in bringing back that history. Then, you had Britt coming back and that brought back that history of the embryo with Dante and Lulu. It was fun to be able to play pissed-off with these people who I love. So, you got to play the love underneath and the anger on top, and it was all because of his past. So, it all kind of brought things back and it completed something.”
CAN LULU AND DANTE FIND ROCCO AND BRITT IN TIME?
At the end of Friday’s June 19 cliffhanger, Dante and Lulu learned from “Nathan” where Rocco and Britt are hiding out and take off to find their son. How will that go? Can the execs get along for the sake of their son? Stay tuned.
In case you missed our conversation with Dominic Zamprogna you can check it out in full below.
Do you believe, given what happened with Michael Corinthos in the past, everyone had the right to hide what happened to Rocco from Dante? What do you remember from the harrowing story of Michael’s rape in prison by Carter? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
